Hallelujah. The Gyok has scored.... ![]() |
Doyou2019:Abeg.... I no dey dia... ![]() |
PurestBoy:Today is the turn of a defensive midfield and opposing player on the score sheet for the Gunners. Anyway that seems to be the system of the Guardiola school of football. False 9 stuff. City attackers are not faring any better. Merino is highest goal scorer this season, another DM. |
Haba Gyokeres. Had two meters on the defender and still not able to make hay. Your exit is near. |
Doyou2019:Saka fans will drag you through hot coals for this. Typical negros that cannot let their heads govern their hearts. The guy has been poor anf needs time on the bench to repurpose. That is the reason for having a large squad and the competition for places it brings. No single player can have a smooth ride all matches all season. They are not machines. |
mightyhaze:Absolutely. We need that kind of leadership here. Today are borders are wide open to all sorts and we are paying through our nose in trillions to keep the country safe. Resources that should be going to development. And the more people flee the more comfortable leadership is in misrule because they only have to contend with the dregs of society. Why, you ask? Because the brightest and best will always leave first closely followed by those with a conscience. Throughout world history it is the worst that are comfortable to remain with the status quo. |
Lamasta:This is the closest to how I feel about this matter. They created the mess, they should deal with the smell. This government created and exploited the religious hegemon with it's all Muslim leadership ticket against popular advice back in 2023. What did it think creating this ideologic monster will cause...religious superiority mentality. A class of people now unwilling to reach out and make any sort of concessions or sacrifice to stabilize and further this country. Back then you had openly told the world that without them alone you cannot win. You gave them a mile, now they want ten thousand miles. You gave the child a biscuit now you want it back without ruse and rancour...how? Nationhood involves SACRIFICE. A people ready to turn off their hearts and switch on their minds. A people ready to reach out across every ideological isle to truly build a country where everyone seeks safe, and can aspire equally. Mr. Tinubu off all Presidents bar none had done more damage to the statehood of this country by that action in 2023 and the fallout will comtinue for a while to come. |
dfrost:Just telling you what your country has become under the government you chose. |
Melagros:There is nothing like bias when it comes to crime and criminality. Cover it up and festers, rots and kills the entire body, which in this case is the state called Nigeria. Expose it and perhaps the stench will attract attention. The right kind of treatment it deserves. So where and when you see your own, do publish it please. Let us build a better society. These criminals don't deserve any pity. They deal with deadly articles to raise huge sums that are often used to corrode society and corrupt institutions. It is not poverty, it is greed. |
People are so funny. What is the world will carry a Nigerian civil servant all the way to Kentucky to buy a house....Kentucky...na waoh..eh. All those wooden houses that tornadoes will just scatter one hand like confetti....kai Nigerians are so foolish.....anyway that is what corruption does. It seizes rational thinking. Even all these Gulf Arab countries that are are just a hair's breath from regional violence.... |
This is more of an indictment of the Lagos state government and it's inability to provide for vehicular traffic within it's sphere of responsibility in the Lekki-Ajah area. The Federal government should not be building roads for intra state traffic. It is supposed to be an intercity highway and if it is bogged down by Lagos state traffic, what is the point of having someone driving all the way from Calabar and into Lagos traffic, and what is the difference between this and the Lagos-Ibadan expressway that has become urbanized and traffic prone. If folks are fleeing the Lekki- Ajah freeway for any reason, that is the road that should be worked on. I was in that area over the yuletide and could observe the lack of infrastructure to ease traffic. The lack of overpasses for crossroads and turnoffs, the narrow side streets feeding into the highway leading to numerous choke points. As for the so called coastal road the designers should take a cue from the way highways are designed for Abuja with service lanes for slow traffic and minimal turnoffs and u-turns. It simply cannot have entry and exit points on every adjoining street or else it will go bad in no time. It is supposed to be an interstate highway. PS, it is the same problem with the Gwagwalada area of the Abuja -Lokoja highway and the government keeps on repeating this error. Interstate traffic gets bogged down there because of the mixup between highway and state-way infrastructure. Instead of building a separate carriageway into Gwagwalada from the Airport road long distance motorists coming from Kaduna or Lokoja are forced to share the same tarmac with folks heading short distances into town with unwieldy u-turns and choke points causing serious delays. |
This is not good of the US. It should be be undermining the democratic structures of other countries. It didn't take kindly to California seeking independence under the Republicans or Texas under the Democrats in the past. |
hslbroker2:They will soon come here to blame the US or the west. The trains of exploitation under colonial rule were more functional than those under independence and liberty. Such a paradox. |
techbro1:C'mon man this is below the belt, haba. |
89green:No, it is countries that are undemocratic and divided that cannot stand. Colombia has a drug issue worse than Venezuela but the US has no case for regime change because it is democratic, so is Mexico, so is Brazil, so is Greenland and other countries that irk the present US leadership but there is nothing they can do. I repeat again. You cannot have a quarter of your population in exile due to persecution, you cannot have the legitimate elected government in exile and have any sympathy. Countries that are 'preyed' upon by the 'evil US' are in themselves rotting carcasses. |
Emu4life:If not for the 'unqualified west' General Abdulsalami Abubakar will have continued in power at the demise of General Sani Abacha. It was the overbearing pressure and damaging western sanctions that eventually broke military rule in Nigeria. If the so called unqualified west had turned a blind eye and rejected the cries of the pro democracy fighters what will have removed the military from power today. Mr Tinubu will likely have remained and perhaps died in exile just as millions of Venezuelans are. The people of Mali and other Sahelian states where the west has no regards today, we can see how they are faring under military rule and we will see how it will end. Sooner than later it is people from that place that will be seeking 'unqualified western' help. The undemocratic developing world has no way of eating it's cake and having it. You can call.the west all sorts of names you want but then why jump on the next aeroplane to seek for help. |
Integrity200:Well you can't have up to a quarter of your population fleeing your country under your rule as a positive impact. Imagine if a President is elected in Nigeria and keeps himself in power for over a decade and so terrorizes the country 50 million Nigerians flee to Niger, Benin and the Camerouns...then he is captured...how many do you think will mourn him... |
thesicilian:Well the 'kidnapped President " is not considered the legitimate leader of a country where elections are always bent to keep him in power. Moreover the person who is in charge now was his deputy, so the Americans have satisfied both sides of the argument as far as Venezuela is concerned. Much like the Rivers state of Nigeria matter. You just don't know where to land because whoever you support is wrong. A governor rigged into power or an overlord seeking to control him. Guess it is the prime paradox of our time and the lessons are simple. Do the right thing to have a genuine case. |
dettolgel:People that cannot defend themselves.... |
It is called inflation my dear Nigerians. The cost of living or doing business does not involve only food or transport or housing for an individual, neither does it involve only raw materials or stock or storage or warehousing for a business. If a businessman buys an item at an increase of say 5, percent and his other costs are galloping away at 15 to 20 percent, how can he raise his offerings by only 5 percent. He will find the ratio of the impact of those other costs and factor them in. If the government is not effectively getting a grip on inflation it cannot get this country out of this downward economic spiral. Unfortunately every signature move since 2025 has added fuel to the fire, the latest being the mad revenue drive aka tax grab. Things will only get more and more expensive and less and less people will spend. |
KingOfAmebo:Yes, if your actions infringe on my civil liberties I am free to seek legal redress. It is called civilisation everywhere else. I gave you an example. State governments in the US are in court against the so called legitimate moves of the US Federal government as concerning the civil liberties of the citizens of their states. And yes, a lot of people are in court against their landlords on various matters concerning their leases. At the end of the day this is a democracy where dialogue is the best oil for a smooth ride. The breakdown of which is indicative of inadequate leadership. |
ZombieDredd:Etymology of Association Football. |
The traders should go to court. Civil disobedience is their legitimate right. Yes, you own the market but you don't own the businesses that operate there and if you are concerned about the economy of the state then address the matters that has led to the status quo. Look at what is happening the US. They all acknowledge the immigration problem bit the leadership of each state affected by the federal.purge has sided with the people to resist federal.over reach. Why can't leadership in the south east states lean on the federal government to find a solution to this matter. |
JobAndVacancies:Well they should win their playoffs first. They may not even make that if they happen to meet wild animals of a team and a plague of a gaffer. |
Looking forward to the playoff draws on Friday. With the calibre of teams there it will be hardcore watch...Internazionale Milano, champions PSG, Real Madrid, Juventus, Atletico, Borussia Dortmund and the indefatigable Jose 'the Boss' Mourinho leading this wicked Benfica team...hmmm....I absolutely love this new Champions league format....fun from day one till the bitter end. |
Aww... didn't watch this match. So what happened to our own Victor Osimen. How did he pair up against Premiership opposition. Did he showcase any reason why he should replace a certain Liam Delap or a Victor Gyokeres...or a certain Benjamin Sesko...? |
dominique:Big game gaffer. Just loves the biggest stage at the biggest occasions. |
Wow, just watched the end of Benfica v Real Madrid. What a match. Jose is on point yet again in one of the most thrilling match ends ever in the Champions league. Benfica dead and buried with early results when he took over, has steered them into the last qualifying position in the 95th minute of the last match by a goalkeeper headed goal....just wow.... PS. The Premiership producing five of the top eight straight qualifiers. Who said the EPL is not the best soccer league in the world... |
Sccarrr:Well, I can see the problem. You personalize these players, may e just as folks personalize clubs and teams. Anyone who is watching this match now, and I'm sure you will see commentaries by pundits afterwords., will clearly see that the right wing of Arsenal is far more potent today than it was on Sunday. Anyone who is watching will see that the play today is quicker, more direct and has created a lot more scoring opportunities and this is partly as a result of better wing play today. |
Sccarrr:What is respect or disrespect in football. You are either delivering or not. No serious title aspiring team will continue to play sentiment at the expense of performance. A lot of commentary on the United match from pundits all over Europe, and particularly from former Arsenal greats and there was a lot of convergence of opinions as to who pulled their weight and those who were just hangers on. Well it is up to Arteta. The buck stops at his table. But if he cannot wield the stick and chooses to be sentimental about his selections then he will not win any titles. It is that simple. Saka is not playing anywhere near his potentials at the moment and he should be served notice. |
I am back to Arsenal match and notice that Odegaard is in. Surprise, surprise. The game has slowed down. Arteta refuses to learn. He is desperately trying to make a mountain out of a midget. Oga Arteta, Odegaard cannot win you anything. His game is too juvenile for a title seeking team. |
If you are there illegally you will be ICED, crated and sent home. You cannot be complaining about Jihadists from the Futa Jallon galloping across your home country's borders and laying waste to your ancestral homes and be a pain in the neck in another man's land. |
