Well we have all agreed to that.
We vote 'massively' to keep it that way every four years... or is democracy no longer the tool to reform.... improve society.

Other nations stop and check, check and change course at the polls. The US felt it was too liberal over the past and decided to change course to the right, now it is feeling that sharp right turn is leading it to the ditch and it will try to swing left again at the next polls, the midterms.

That is how societies evolve, modulate themselves. But here it is all about money, that is our ideology, throw enough money around and keep the status quo.

Unfair taxation.
Ridiculous threshold.
If I am earning 900,000 p.a I may be taxed on the N100,000 above the threshold.

N900,000 by UN standards is crushing poverty.
This is equivalent to earning N2,500 a day or $1.72... or for time based work the government of Nigeria still wants their share if you earn a ridiculous 22 cents an hour.

To collect this by coercion will just mean an end to this kind of democracy we practice.

TimeManager:
Since 2022 when Nigerian Government had indicated interest in the purchase of these equipments, till it was awarded in 2024 till 2026, these military equipments are yet to be delivered. As a matter of fact, the two countries are still sitting on a round table trying to fast-track the delivery. This is ridiculous especially on the side of the US. Imagine the level of carnage those terrorists have done in four years while we waiting for these equipments that had already been paid for to be delivered. YET we're very quick to blame the Government and the military as if the military would load empty helicopters with firecrackers to go fight the terrorists. Imagine what additional 12 attack helicopters would have done in 4years.
Trump should go beyonvd the barking and fast-track the delivery of our equipments as soon as now.

-Kiss the truth!
Oga, the US is not a supermarket.
Need emergency care, give yourself first aid.
Develop YOUR OWN equipment to deal with YOUR OWN problems.

It is not as if the US or Bell sent marketers to come begging Nigeria for sales. These equipment makers have their hands full of orders with the raging conflicts throughout the world coupled with the lengthy procedures they have to hurdle with their host government who's politics and strategies can change at an instant.

So the best solutions to the most pressing security problems lie at home and we have consistently said, establish the hand held, smaller extinguishers of state and local government police so that the fires of insecurity can be put out when they are still smouldering rather than leave them till they ignite and cause a conflagration requiring the fire brigade of an army and all these fancy, expensive equipment tour country cannot make for itself..

But folks like you and your leaders see no wisdom in these. Tomorrow you will seek to buy ballistic missiles and maybe nuclear weapons to use on your own soil be cause you have failed to do the basics out of nothing but crass sentiment.

Who or what is delaying and resisting the establishment of other levels of policing. Those are the agenda driven ENEMIES of this country. Start there.

I think the coldest place in Nigeria is the settlements and areas surrounding the Obudu Cattle Ranch, northern Cross-River and surrounding the Cameroons.

I have been to Taraba and I have lived in Plateau for a while but nothing compared to the time spent on the ranch.

The altitude combined with the temperature (very low for spring and early summer) caused major health issues to the iun-acclimatized.

If they are performing so well why are they desperately buying out the competition. Is their existing 'market' share not enough.

Or is this 'Dangotism' at work....
Dominate the electoral 'market', and monopolize the power centres.

Then for what....
Something much more important to them than merely winning elections. But maximally profiting from it without regulation, without competition, without resistance and most concerning, without the law.

The execution of an illegal act off a forged document is an eye opener as to why they want all the reins of power to themselves. Soon nothing will even be presented to the Legislature.

They will just pronounce and gazette whatever they wish and no one, NOTHING will be able to stop them.

Nigerians should strap in and get ready for the true and raw meaning of authoritarianism. We have ignored the creed of 'eternal vigilance' as it relates to democracy and will the price very dearly.

All these further reinforce my long standing belief that you cannot have sustainable progress and prosperity out of an association where the black man is at the centre of affairs. It just wouldn't happen.

We are have no horizontal relationships whatsoever in this part of the world. We cannot form viable linkages with one another on an equal basis.

It's what you guys want after all

1.5 million bpd, even 4 million is not enough for a nation of 200 or more million people
What are they borrowing for.
Tell me.
How much of this budget affects the real economy, how much goes towards the MDG's.

Let them strip the budget to the basics and bill the citizens. Let the people decide what they are willing to pay for as a priority and what we will work with our bare hands to achieve.

You will see that we can afford it.
But they won't because they don't want participatory governance, they don't want their ways and means exposed.

If we cut waste and 'spend wisely', we would still be left with a scanty budget.

The problem with most nigerians is that you think that we can get a porsche at the price of a biccycle. Our health budget is less than ten billion dollars, yet most of you guys want it to perform like the health budget of 300 billiion dollars. That is not possible.

We better face reality. Our problem is far more than just 'corruption'
Okay, we will get more money from taxes abi. Let us see the miracles it will make this year then. Let us see if it is the final solution to providing all we need and more to waste. Enough said.

By January next year, a full year of unprecedented collections by government, we will be here again by God's will to talk again about this matter.

And by the way how is a 'Porsche' a basic need. This clearly shows the mentality at work in this country where the elites are completely detached from the realities on ground. Basic healthcare is NOT a luxury, ambulance services he mentioned is NOT a luxury.

Spending trillions on pointless highways is the luxury, so as renovating useless (to the public) buildings for far more than it costs to provide the real and needed BASIC services from those they hope to tax.

You cannot prosper your citizens, you can NEVER profit from them. See how other countries and their leaders are going far and wide, over and beyond, to confiscate, steal and war to bring the bacon to their countries and prosper their citizens. Ours are experts at the opposite, how to take all from the people and fritter it away in foreign lands.

Basic problem is Nigeria is not making enough money
Healthcare budgets have never passed ten billion dollars. Talk less of seven billion dollars. If we wanted to have a decent healthcare budget , we need something like 400 billion dollars and then we be talking

Obi needs to tell us what he would do to raise more money for Nigeria if elected.

( Not an attack on obi, a genuine question as we are all agreed tinubu should go)

Yeah and even if we spent 75 million on a phc, how do we maintain it over the years? Plus we need more than new phc centers. Government should not be also wasting money on jets
He is saying we already have enough to care for our basic needs. You are saying we need more. This is where you defer.

The essence of what he is saying is that if we cut waste, spend wisely, we can balance the books. What he is saying is that if we invest in things that benefit the many as against the few or the individual, we can turn to the many to fund our needs in time.

But your focus remains on more and more and I tell you, more and more income will never satisfy a mindset that is hardwired to waste. The tax regime is on. Let us see whether it will 'prosper' this country.

But you and I know it will not, just as the idea that increasing the size of your airconditioner will compensate for your inability to keep your doors and windows shut in this blazing hot season.

West Africa remains where the overwhelming talent in Africa lies. Unfortunately it is not met with quality administration is those nations thus most of the players of the west coast ply their trade abroad leaving north and southern Africa to dominate the domestic continental, club scene.

Improve administration in west coast federations and the domination with be absolute.

If you work and save up say thirty million to build a house you are more likely going to achieve it with say twenty five million than if you approached a bank for thirty million. I tell you that house will not be finished. It is psychological.

If states are prepared to organically grow their economies out of the virtues of their people then development will come with a high degree of certainty, perhaps not rocket fast but sure and sustainable.

Because the work put into building something out of scratch can always build something else even more efficiently.

Governments should learn the economic cycle of investing in their citizens to empower them to develop their states. And this investment is in totality.

And I am not talking about just throwing money in the air for all and sundry to collect to do what they wish or asking people to submit proposals and throwing money at them.

But the investment guided by an strategic policy of capacity building.

You want to do massive road infrastructure for instance. Invest in the people to localise men, material and equipment. So you don't have to pay some foreigner who has no stake in your development, prime resources to give you basics.

When you strip down that budget to its bare bones you will discover huge waste on articles that can be created and nurtured within the state for lasting capacity.

Look at Cross-River and the various projects wxecut s by the Duke administration. Well intended but with absolutely zero local capacity on all aspects of the projects from concept to execution and this is a major reason why they are all moribund. Ownership of the development process was entirely importers into the state.

We need visionary leadership in this country. This generator leaders are, I'm afraid, mentally incapable of developing this country.

Do you think turning the country to a one party state and capturing all institutions of government was just because of 2027....

You will see a new level of governmental impunity, a course of subjugation like you have never seen before. And the citizens will have absolutely zero means of seeking legal or democratic recourse.

After this you will understand that it is 'they' versus 'us' and you will have no option but to storm the fortress or die in the bog. Watch as they begin to tighten the screws in the months to come.
