They took $3 billion dollars to stabilize the naira and yet the Naira still fell against the dollar and no one is asking wetin happen, that abokii in NNPC needs to be in the same cell with emefilie or whatever he is called
the man who took Nigeria money to build power plants and pipelines when refinery wasn't functioning. He should be in jail now if Tinubu is serious about fighting corruption.

That's why we need to stop large departments for theatre arts, accounting, mass comm, law or zoology and start having bigger medical science departments and faculties. Demand and supply is not only applicable to commodity market. Even Jesus said the harvest is plenty but labourers are few.
Business › Re: Dangote Refinery Imports Crude As NNPCL Swaps Oil For Loans by RepoMan007: 9:04am On Sep 20, 2023
Simply put, the NNPCL has commitments to meet with the crude coming out right now and may need some weeks to clear backlog of orders they promised buyers of crude. Dangote, not wanting to wait for NNPCL and demonstrating his flexibility, goes to the sea(inyl market) where vessels of crude can be directed to Nigeria for a fee and start running his refinery ASAP. No cause for alarm here.

Janet Yellen will be shocked to find that he believes that the rates were unified

Now let me redirect the question to you.

Do u really believe that the exchange rates were unified?

The rates on binance P2P is closing in on the 1000 mark.

Aboki BDC rate is 955

While official CBN rate 775! Does this looks like unified to you?

So between me and you now who is talking nonsense?

Well most of you have sold your souls, and no longer have conscience. So interacting with such characters as yours Is a mental torture, a futile misadventure, much like flogging a dead horse 🐎
rates may never be unified if the govt doesn't start having enough forex to meet every demand. As long as private hands are getting dollar via remittances and business deals, they will sell at their own rates, especially when they see huge demand and feel govt is suppressing the rates to help keep debt repayment favourable.
Until there is local refining of crude, we may never know the true direction we are headed. It is the only significant change that can bring about positive result as things stand now.

Unless those at the top are brought to book nothing will change
You replied yourself already by admitting those on top can be brought to book. Those refineries are just normal plant that can be fixed and run by someone else. It can be remedied, I insist.

DeLaRue:
Crude oil prices are shooting up on the international market.

The price of diesel has not been subsided for many years, so the government is not going to start subsidising diesel now.

All over the world, every one is complaining about the rising price of crude oil, which is currently about $95 dollars per barrel.

Go on you tube, you will see many videos of Americans complaining they cant even afford to buy fuel to drive to work!

It is Russia and Saudi Arabia reducing reduce supply in order to make more money. The rest of the world is screwed...for now.

Nigeria is no different. Are people in Ghana, Kenya, Japan, Sweden, UK, US buying diesel cheaper. No. Everyone is complaining bitterly.

This has very little to do with the Nigerian government.

Those who need diesel just have to adjust for now until crude oil prices comes down.
You are right. The most painful aspect is govt not putting local petrol and diesel production in place before floating the exchange rates. As a crude producing nation, we have no business suffering what UK or Japan is suffering in same proportion.

Agriculture › Re: Must You Live In The City? Why Village Life Is Better!! by RepoMan007: 5:57pm On Sep 19, 2023
FarmsFarmer:
Village life is better. Not everyone can live in the city. The city is already over populated and too congested. Too many people coming to the cities who have no business being in the city at all. Wasting away your destiny where you cannot achieve your destiny. Find out where you can achieve your destiny. It may just be in the village. It may just be in farming. A word is enough for the wise.

I come in peace!
City is associated with good amenities and so big boys or people with big boy mentality prefer it. Elsewhere city cities are built around commerce and industries. Our cities are more of ancient settlement whose economic identity has been eroded. Most costal cities were fish market hubs. Desert/arid cities mostly grains. In between you have other cashcrops and cattle's. The idea of productivity that was suppose to sustain cities have been relegated in favour of fast oil money.
Agriculture › Re: Must You Live In The City? Why Village Life Is Better!! by RepoMan007: 5:49pm On Sep 19, 2023
Villages in Nigeria are synonymous with hardship of lack of power, water, communication, transportation, and more. It isnt a big deal elsewhere but in Nigeria, it is such a big deal because of backwardness of the villages in Nigeria and Africa generally.
Though technology has overcome many of those challenges. Boreholes for water, satellites for communication, renewable power among others, our corrupt and wasteful system means villages are not attractive in any sense.

Lol, these crop of Northerners really don't know who they're dealing with. Their parents were actually much more smarter than them and that's why they ensured that no Yoruba bigot will rule Nigeria. That's why they supported the liberal minded ones like Obasanjo but stopped ethnocentric ones like Awolowo and MKO. However, these current Northern leaders couldn't reason beyond their noses, so they accepted Tinubu's Muslim-muslim ticket Greek gift. Little did they know that Tinubu has terrible plans for them.

Look at that NNPCL list that were sacked and you will see they're almost entirely Northerners. Then look at the ones Tinubu replaced them with, and you will see they're mostly Yorubas.

Tinubu is cleansing everywhere and replacing with his own people. He has succeeded in caging North within a few months of coming to power. Very soon, Tinubu will also remove INEC chairman Mahmoud Yakubu and will replace with another Yoruba who will conduct the next election. So, I pity those who are saying they will ambush him in 2027. They've already stated that using BVAS is the choice of INEC chairman and not mandatory by law. So, what will stop the next INEC chairman who is going to be Yoruba from doing 3x the manipulation Mahmoud did? By 2027, 99% of Yorubas will be fanatical supporters of Tinubu, and he will use his men on ground in other states of Nigeria to subdue and get minimal numbers to back up what INEC will eventually announce.

Tinubu is well experienced in all these shenanigans, his days running the streets in Chicago equipped him how to survive in the jungle.
You guys never stop cooking something to hold on to.
Business › Re: Black Market Welcomes Cardoso With ₦960/$1, P2P Now ₦970/$1 by RepoMan007: 11:28am On Sep 19, 2023
Insiders familiar with the forex market told Nairametrics that the Central Bank of Nigeria remains the largest supplier of foreign currency in the official I&E window.

However, many businesses opt for the parallel or black market to execute their forex trades, lured by the more favorable exchange rates on offer.

The central question now is whether the newly appointed central bank governor, Yemi Cardoso, will be able to implement strategies that can stabilize the naira and lure investors and businesses back to the official market.
If the I&E is lower at around N780/$ why are investors running to black market of N970/$?
Are they selling or buying there? Nigeria and abracadabra economics are like rice and beans.
