What they are used to is yes yes and never a no. If it takes a thoughtful post from Nairaland for the stone heads to know they ought to work with food reserves for example, then let them deal with that.
1nice: You have mental sickness for spouting out this rubbish. For your information tinubu will either resign this month February or he will be impeached next month March 2024.
To clear your doubt wether the northerners did not protest buhari bad governance; video below
They protested at the tail end of the adnin of failure they gave us to have something to hold onto. They no watched bubu handover to his kingmaker. Keep shut. Two fake protests from katsina and Kano I am guessing is what you kept aside to spin this. Some idiots you are part of have been moving from state to state in the north poisoning their minds with this anti Tinubu narrative.
MrProlific95: and so...Nigerian government should not try any 50% ooo,
Anything less than 300% Will not be accepted
which is easier to do, to print enough money and pay 300% of current wage or to slap a bag of grain of N100k and say it now sells for N1m?
More money is not the problem. There are politicians buying strategic food item from farms and creating artificial scarcity they can then benefit from later. When govt creates money and begin to pay 300% for same service, the politicians and middlemen collaborators simply smile and adjust in such a way the people start spending their new found "wealth" to buy less than what they could before.
They want to give Egypt the poisoned chalice of SAP again
Later they will start saying Africa is an unstable continent
IMF/WB are imperialist agencies to forster Western domination of the World economy.
You will never see them tell US to reduce its debt which is already over 100% of its GDP or eliminate its massive agric subsidies which is x10 of Nigeria's budget
They'll never tell UK to devalue its over-valued pounds or change its obsolete land-holding laws or health insurance system
They'll never tell Norway to reduce its socialist welfare programs
Trust IMF/WB to your peril
IMF and WB's advise are not entirely bad. They tell what is right they already know you won't end up doing due to attitude problems and that will always enslave you to them. They tell you remove subsidy but have welfare and subsidy in their own nations. They know we don't have the industrial and technological knowhow to sustain the level of production required to turn the corner but tell us to act as if we about to anyways. They may tell you, stop petrol subsidy but will hardly profer solutions that will prevent that money from being looted back and taken to advanced nation. Half solution can be a bigger problem at times and that they doing to us.
Egypt’s economy, already fragile due to various factors including the recent Gaza crisis, has seen a decline in tourism and reduced shipping through the Suez Canal, impacting foreign currency reserves significantly.
When Oct 07 occurred, some stupid Egyptians thought time was set for massive massacre of jews muslims have always fantasized about and quickly killer two Israeli tourists. Now they need tourists to boost income and are feeling the heat.
Na so we see am o. Gas that God put generously in the ground. At this rate landlords may start putting central charcoal stove in compound to assist tenants.
The Save Nigeria Group (SNG), with the opposition parties spearheaded by Tinubu himself, frustrated Goodluck Jonathan by sponsoring protests against the Goodluck Jonathan government. The hallmark of it all was the 2012 subsidy removal protests.
Your pain has destroyed your brain. SNG also pushed for GEJ to be president if you go back enough to dig. When they rejected a poor performance is where you like to believe they started existing and acting.
iwaeda: Government of bad policies, North is erupting already
Those idiotic elements kept quiet when their brother was doing the bulk of the damage to Nigeria. Food is still cheap enough for them to eat and waste on protest. Very soon Ramadan will be backdated for them. Dem go begin fast from February and March.
Buhari has used the loans we are repaying to build rail to Niger republic. He have them raw cash he printed and paid salary to workers thats mostly northerners.
The carefully crafted printouts can't be a spontaneous thing. This is a well orchestrated protest with lots of planning and inputs and backing from top people.
Niger state should be the last place of a protest going by food prices there. Babangida must know something.
That's understandable because not long ago forex of N460 now goes for N1450-N1500. X 3 in forex yielded X 3 in prices of imported goods. What is strange is locally produced food going from N350 a measure to N1400 for same measure.
Emma513: Both police and the protesters should get out. We gonna Vote apc again.
it is all about APC and the other party you can't openly speak of to you.
@topic, Niger state is a wrong place to start any protest. Things are still cheap there and I wonder what people in the south will do if Niger state can do such a stupid thing.
immortalcrown: State policies cannot override federal ones.
The positive changes governors can effect within their states cannot be significant when not inline with federal decisions.
We have seen cases where state went into heavy agriculture and made good gains. Lagos and Kebbi did rice some years ago. Gombe and Kebbi do give farmers fertilizers to encourage them and food is dirt cheap there as evidence. FG's mismanagement of refineries did not stop Lagos from hosting Dangote refinery. Stop trying to be mentally stiff just to pass the buck to President and FG. State should be business units that can create business before spending and should be restricted from spending allocation directly.
ivolt: Forex is not some trophy to be kept in a museum. It is just like any other tool of trade. There is always forex as long as you can afford the rate.
And what are you going to do about the jobless youths, force them into farms and pay them food wages? Yes, we have to worry about food security, but this is the 21st century, and agriculture is no longer a major employer.
Show me a country whose economy depends on agriculture and I will show you a poverty-stricken country.
I am sure Netherlands is poverty stricken in your eyes also.
mrvitalis: No matter the amount of farm land you have there are foods you can't produce...
$15 billion food bill is very small for me
The focus should not be on stopping import rather what to do to increase export simple
and where is the forex to do that? You have jobless youths, fertile land and Hungry mouths but want to conjure dollar out of thin air to be importing food. Are you normal at all?
wetin weldon for dis man body? Since May 29 na soso salute im dey salute traditional rulers. Compare im first year for office to Uduaghan 100 days and see the scam Okowa do deltans.
Even this oga that' wants to do three gigantic and avoidable flyovers with over N50Bn too is talking about prayers? The principal prayer we need is James 1:5. That of wisdom.
