Most Technisem seed are designed for tropical region.
They performed well in dry season and at their worst in rainy season.

Big sun :
I planted since December 2018, I am still harvesting though the yield has drastically reduced. It was not affected by rain.

We started harvesting by April
This is 6 months after

The sets I plant by May 2019 did not survive the rain.
The nursery I did during the rainy season did not survive too

Same applies to Etna and Avenir

It's advisable to establish the seed in dry season so they grow through the rainy period

I am skeptical about the news about avenir,I really liked that variety but I can't gamble ₦30k on chance or probablity,I am thinking about Efia for our next month nursery,any other suggestions is ok,by the way etnaf1 is shombo and big sun is yellow colour those two are off considering.

It seems you don't have monkeys as pest over there. Down here, they ravage both ripe and unripe plantains while on the stand.

i dont like the idea of dry maize, i dont think its as profitable as people make it out to be. take for example 1 ha of fresh maize, from my understanding one can get between 50000-60000 cobs of maize, if sold at 6 for 100 one can make sales of between 800k to 1 million per hectare. Could you explain what you meant when you said it is dicey, im trying to make a logical decision

Fresh maize marketing in Akwa Ibom is very profitable especially if the timing is right. If you CAN hit the major markets in the State by April, you will be winning a jackpot.

you could have saved yourself unnecessary stress by putting organic manure first before sowing, spraying chemicals on young plants is not always a good idea,you can still amend the nursery by using pig manure dissolved in water for at least 3 days and poured on the nursery,after that use knapsack filled with water to wash the seedlings leafs.i said pig manure for a reason,if you use chicken manure it may not end well.

you will definitely have the upper hand if you also use improved varieties or hybrid seeds for high yields,I am guessing that those farmers will be using saved seeds from previous harvest,you can do melon but on a small scale to test the waters,melon cannot and will not be trusted not to misbehave, plant the okra on 1 acre or less batches to ensure continuous production.
