You are supposed to produce from market to the farm and not the other way. Next time, don't produce based on assumptions. Do market research to determine those that'll be buying from you and the quantity they can purchase before you go about producing.

This is 3rd party transaction. I don't think they get involved in such because I've once been a victim of 3rd party transaction anomaly although a little different from yours. Try to be more careful next time.

Apart from sunlight and relative humidity that are not easily controlled here in Nigeria, I think all other factors can be manipulated to suit any arable crop. Any tropical veggie can be grown here in the East. Like Pavore9 said, "It all depends on mindset".

Smaller sizes = between 6k and 9k per 100 pcs

Average sizes = between 12k and 18k per 100 pcs

Extra large sizes = goes for 25k and above per 100pcs

Unfortunately, I can't help to purchase tubers right at this moment due to the fact that I'm yet to have a sales manager to manage customers orders in Benue State while I'm not available but customers have been travelling down themselves. As for palm oil and palm kernel seeds from Cross-river, my partner is very much available on ground to help as regards those products.

they make money by organizing training, selling suckers, seeds, lands and fingerlings and setting up farms for new entrys like me. But there are not successful farmers. Pls.

what are the risk
which has more market/off takers cropping or livestock?
can i be directed to two or three successful irrigation
farmers for mentoring/advise.

Since Hotmass911 is yet to respond, I'll make some suggestions.
1. Most of those private individuals claiming to be organizing seminars, trainings and selling ebooks are sometimes incompetent farmers that have failed in their practice hence, are looking for easier ways to making money. If they are so competent as they claim, they'll be busy with farm work that hardly will they be chanced to organize seminars and training.
2. I'll suggest you avail yourself to internship programmes instead. If memory serves, Hastom and Jethro are organizing some.
3. On the most profitable between crop and livestock production, I'll say amongst other factors, it generally depends on the enterprise you have interest in and the knowledge it requires. As a guide, maybe you should conduct feasibility studies on different enterprises to enable you make a well informed decision.
3. For sales, I'll suggest you compare the prices both are willing to offer and select the best.
4. On profitability, I'll say agriculture is very much viable if handled like a business. Many of the Northern Elites amassed their wealth through agriculture and are still practicing.

A new pest I've been battling on the farm. The leaffooted bug. Looks cute but very very dangerous to plants. You can Google and read about it.

It was a very serious pest to the cucumbers grown some months ago over here. The damage they caused was massive because their population was high and they appeared only after fruiting.

I tried digging out some of them this morning. But there was nothing there. No traces of the seeds whatsoever. It was surprising.

The source of my seeds was from some ripe water melon I got and washed last year.

Probably, they lost viability since they are not commercial seeds. They should be fully decomposed by now under the soil. Try sowing new set of seeds that have been sun-dried.

There is a place in Benue Nigeria where they rear pigs openly meaning the pigs are free to roam about, the pigs roam about and eat everything they see like grasses, grains even the people there digs holes outside their houses where children defecate (shit) so that pigs can eat it, Pigs are just everywhere and are big in size people only inject them sometimes, so I came up with the idea of selling these pigs to the eastern and western part of Nigeria where pigs don't roam the streets, cos the pigs here are very very cheap.

Sir. I think those pigs will be infected with tapeworms owing to their management system.
