Honest questions When wickedness rules over a nation, even the most honest of intentions becomes wickedness.... |
Is this a campaign for Obiano? Why bring Obi into the mix when the man is not even a contestant, and even going as far as comparing him to a man that is standing for re-election as an incumbent. Political adultery and sycophancy is a big problem in Nigeria. Biased write-up, with falsehood as laces |
jamesharryson:It is very unfortunate that government do not even think of those teachers that will not make heaven, or even the ones that do not believe in heaven. Empowerment of teachers is not just an imperative but should be a priority. Teaching profession is suppose to be a beautiful thing. Once a teacher, and I am proud to identify and celebrate with all teachers in the world. |
My primary 5 teacher: Think of Me My P.H.E teacher in secondary school: Give Me They have one thing in common, flogging. It helped me to be serious and act responsibly. God bless them |
Ballmer:I don't want to join issues with you but responsibility demands that I say this hereunder: It is very naive for you to think every contrary opinion about this ill fated administration represents Igbo interest. If you strongly believe dissent in a democracy, and in a multi ethnic society like Nigeria is Igbo, then I am afraid to accuse you that you are not civilized. Where you are in the scale of society is still very close to nature. Perhaps, president Buhari has delivered his statement to you concerning Babachir Lawal, Oke, and his other co-travelers. We know his antecedents that he is a chief pretender, more subtle than the green snake in a green grass. This administration headed by president Buhari is like a household witch that bedevils a family, that turns around to console and sympathize with the rest of the family when a member dies. My brother, look beyond whether Igbos hate Buhari and demand for him to rest his demons and do what we elected him to do. |
slivertongue:Thank you for the bold. His personality is utterly inflated. He is placed on a pedestal he clearly does not belong. My pain is that some unfortunate souls still hold on to Buhari's mirage of fighting corruption, integrity etc. |
ojlifa:It is very unfortunate you hold the opinion that Nigeria is not finished already. It is legendary that people like you still hold the view that Buhari is the man when all facts points in the opposite direction. Its absurd to think Buhari just maybe is using some charm to garner followership but again I do not think there is any charm potent enough to bewitch a large number of people like his followers. If that be the case, then what is wrong with all this people that refuse to see beyond president Buhari's pretence that he is as bad as those we condemn? Though, I agree with you that President Buhari is the last of his kind. His kind only administer pain, anguish, hunger, worthlessness and death. He is the last of his kind because Abacha is gone, Idi Amin Dada, Mobutu Sese sekou, Pharoah, Benito Mussolini, Hitler, Stalin etc they are all gone. |
ojlifa:My brother, the only person that needs to go is President Buhari. The man is a monumental failure of epic proportions. The sad part is, some Nigerians still hope something good will come from this man. Nigeria no doubt is suffering a catastrophic leadership epidermic championed by Mr. President. The worst fate that can befall a nation is to have Buhari as president.... Why is this particular report in the public now? Is it because the Minister sang a chorus? From what I understand, this is not a recent happening. Why did the administration keep mum about it for this long, only for it to surface now. I now agree with the saying that not all souls can be redeemed. Not all countries can be redeemed either.... |
LordIsaac:Funny U @Yoruba English |
The picture tells alot.... Trump is a controversial personality, so Baba be like, is this really him? So he is human too? Baba did not do well with his hands on his back though....it makes him inadequate |
This lady with saggy breasts |
So Jonathan is now a national guideline.... One of the most useless posts that can ever grace nairaland. Lemme go back to work jare... |
It is this that inspire and fuels the belligerent attitude of most Muslims especially the uneducated ones that learn the Koran through third party. No matter how hard They try to set in motion these uncivilized principles and doctrines, the greater majority of educated Nigerians will continue to resist them. Myself and several others have come to realise that it is alot more better to live this life for the paradise it is, than be obsessed with a metaphysical life that we know not what it holds. I just wonder why some humans fight on behalf of an almighty.....if that be the case, what then is mighty about the ALL |
Why is this thread not closed already? |
BlackMbakara1:He spoke well The South East should put their house in order first What the Nigerian military did if proven to be TRUE, is very bad |
WotzupNG:What?? |
A win for us.... |
Fresh air is needed in that area....very good initiative |
ykalhaji:The North East larger than UK or close to three countries combined is not an issue. I don't understand why some Nigerians are bewildered by irrelevancies. Alaska in the US is more than Nigeria and certainly more than the three countries in view here. Must we brag about things that add nothing tangible to us? Nigeria is the most populous in Africa, is larger than this and that, Sambisa is larger than Belgium, is larger than South East blah blah shows that we are more interested in useless quantity than in quality. If VP is really interested in comparison, he should go compare with Russia, Canada, US, China, Brazil, India, Argentina, Algeria, Niger, Sudan. VP, drop the YEYE comparison, roll up your sleeves and get to work |
The most dangerous problem that may remain with Nigeria forever if care is not taken is this unfortunate support, selective myopia, repulsive obedience, and odious allegiance by some to people who deliberately twist facts and events to their favour, thereby denying them the opportunity to realise their mistakes. VP goofed full stop. Any attempt by anyone to colour it like he was close or start calculating numbers is just trying to be trivial. The man was not really interested in numbers when he said what he said, he was only trying to paint a picture that his government is dealing with a large terrain which makes it difficult to get results. Now, if that be the case, what about Russia that's more than 17 times larger than Nigeria as a whole? Did the Russian government give trots or surrendered their country to the enemy when ISIS started attacking them? If the fight against insurgency is yet to get desired results, the goverment should stop using size as an excuse to convince people that they are working, rather they should keep quiet and continue with whatever it is that they are doing. |
Yes, there is. There are living beings in Nigeria so there is hope. No matter how bad it appears, a day will come everyone would get fed up and begin to do things the way they ought to be done. Second option, maybe an asteroid will land here and we start afresh to right all the wrongs.....this one, a painful one though |
Our politicians are special breeds It seems there is something that activates their MUMU button when they get office especially Aso Rock. VP going to visit a disaster zone with a ceremonial cap and polished shoes |
Fidelismaria:Yeah, very shameful. It is even more dangerous to be poor in Nigeria. Being poor in Nigeria means the Human is only existing, and not living..... |
GloriaNinja:Very TRUE The unfortunate reality most people live with....not knowing when the next meal will come |
As a responsible member of society, it is incumbent on me to lend my view, and perhaps help bring to the fore the staggering level of poverty in the country. Its features and functions, and most importantly its impact on socio-economic and political life. It is not an easy task attempting to define poverty. It is my opinion that poverty like an elephant is more easily recognised than defined. This is so because poverty is probably is not a subject to be defined or measured. Laying credence to the above, Professor Aboyade queried that "why search for elusive definitions when we all know, or think we know in our minds what we are all talking about? " After examining various definitions of poverty, he concluded that poverty can only be appreciated when one personally suffers it. However, I will highlight some definitions given by scholars. McConnel views "poverty as when the basic needs of a family exceed its available means of satisfying them" Dressler and Wills agreed that poverty can be defined in two different ways: 1. Absolute poverty, which is a situation in which an individual or household is unable to provide the basic necessities of life and (2). Relative Poverty, which is a situation in which an individual or household is unable to maintain the standard of living considered normal in the society". From the foregoing, it can be deduced that poverty is synonymous with limitation, deprivation, lack, want, anxiety etc. Further to the above, Obafemi Awolowo described a poor man as one who suffers from malnutrition living in physically and psychologically degrading conditions. He is inefficient; his productivity is hopelessly low, he is technically ignorant; he succumbs readily to disease; he has little zest for life; he has little or no enthusiasm for what he does and in consequence of all these, his poverty persists on an increasing scale. Unfortunately, the above is the sad reality for most Nigerians who wake to the greetings of each new day with battered dreams, dashed hopes, and struggles rewarded with stone rather than bread. The worrying issue about the situation in the country is that many Nigerians are poor at one time or another during their lives but many Nigerians are poor all of their lives. Poverty in Nigeria operates conveniently in a functional way for those who are not poor. Thus, the functions of poverty is as follows: 1. Poverty ensures that 'dirty work' gets done. If there were no poor people to scrub floors, empty trash cans, then we would pay those who are not poor good money before they will be willing to do such work. 2. Poverty creates jobs for some of those who are not poor, many people such as police, social workers etc who indirectly owe their own livelihood to the existence of the poor. 3. Poverty makes an affluent life style easier. Poverty enables the rich to enjoy the services of cooks, gardeners, house workers and others which leaves them free to pursue pleasures. 4. Poverty guarantees the status of those who are not poor. The existence of the poor confirms the superior status of everyone else e.g Dangote, Atiku, Buhari, Danjuma, IBB, OBJ, Nnamdi Kanu, Dokubo, Tompolo, Dieziani, Sanusi to mention a few. 5. Poverty provides a market for inferior goods and services. The poor buy the goods and services that other people do not want e.g day old bread, ageing automobiles like the ones awaiting to be sent to Nigeria after Hurricane Harvey, the advice of incompetent doctors like "Agbo" sellers, incompetent lawyers....let me not mention names here. 6. Poverty provides a group that can be made to bear the inconvenience of change. New highways are cut through the residential areas of the poor not through the estates of the rich. When industry is automated, it is the poor who bear the brunt of the resulting unemployment. Let me not even mention the change that APC brought that the poor had to bear. In view of the above, elimination of poverty is not just an imperative but should be a priority of every responsible country and government. In theory, our constitution and indeed all successive governments in Nigeria talks nobly of promoting good government and citizenship welfare on the principles of freedom, equality and justice. But in practice, it is the powerful, the rich and dominant class seem to have all the rights while the only right left to the poor, the weak and down trodden seem to be the right to suffer in silence, to be patient and wait for their reward in heaven, that is if they are believers. Most Nigerians now perceive poverty induced dreams like eating while sleeping as demonic possession or manipulation, many are sentenced to death by starvation through unemployment thereby denying them their right to live as guaranteed by the constitution of the Federal Republic. The level of wickedness is on the increase with ritual cases, kidnapping, rape, human suya, incest etc From the discussion so far, it is not in doubt that the poor in Nigeria are actually imprisoned by their poverty which denies them movement and self actualization. Nigeria as a nation cannot grow when POVERTY is still the largest school that most Nigerians are trained. To be continued..... |
Its in him... He never pretends |
Ishilove:The bold, is a million dollar question first, feeling hot is something natural which every human that is alive feel at one point. Most people, including myself argue that masturbation is not treated as a sin in the bible, therefore is subjective to individual and group values. Fine, masturbation is having sex by other means but have you thought about a married man or woman masturbating? If they do, is it a sin, since sex is approved in a marriage? From whatever angle we look at it, masturbation is a sin or not is just an individual opinion and depends upon individual beliefs. I'm still open to further knowledge though, if you would enlighten me..... Thanks for contributing |
oaroloye:Bros, which one is this one na? If U don't have anything to write, U can easily pass, or create a thread that will be business to U. U even used the 'F' word. I guess U don't have regard for decorum and decency. I'm sorry if you perceive this to be rude, but I have to be rude to be kind.... |
Juliette05:I'm not a Reverend Father, but I'm sure those concerned will learn from this.... |
