Hi all. I investment in treasury bills yesterday with FBN and the money left my account almost immediately. Please I'd like to ask here at what point would the interest be paid into my account? I've been waiting to receive this alert.
Interest upfront is the normal procedure.

Though, Sometimes they will debit all principal and pay you principal + interest only after maturity. (that's the re-invest interest option).

So ask them which one they did.

hello guys , please can i just leave the amount to be debited for t-bill or i need to have the whole funds in my acct?.
for instance if i am buying t-bill of 600k for 365days at 17%. do i have to leave upto 600k in the acct or just 498k/500k
The bank will want you to have the 600k in your account. After the debit of 500k, then you can have access to the interest.
InvestmentRe: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by Reyus: 3:27pm On Oct 09, 2017
I wonder why some banks debit the entire tills value and plan to credit the customer at the end of the tenure with the tills value plus interest.

My people, is this normal for tbills secondary market?
FamilyRe: Six Reasons Why Demanding Obedience From A Child Is Damaging by Reyus: 8:43am On Oct 09, 2017
Chubhie:
In our current culture, parents are praised when their children are obedient – it’s a mark of good parenting. The quieter and the more obedient the child, the better. In truth, parents are doing a disservice to their children and to society when they demand that their children do exactly as they are told, no questions asked. In other words, expecting children to dutifully comply with their parents commands, right away, is not such a great idea in the long run.

Here are six reasons why obedience is potentially damaging and why you may want to reconsider demanding it from your child:

Demanding obedience damages self-worth.

When a child is made to do something, with no choice or reasoning, their sense of self worth is affected. They must override their own needs to do that which the commanding person expects. A child that is made to stop focusing on their own needs long enough will soon not even bother, after all someone else will be dictating their needs for them.

Demanding obedience instills shame.

Along with overriding their own needs and damaging self-esteem, a child that has no say over their own body and choices will feel ashamed, over and over again. Being repeatedly told that a child has done something incorrectly and that they must instead do something in a certain way imposed by someone else causes emotional pain. This quote from Gershen Kaufman sums it up well ”Shame is the most disturbing experience individuals ever have about themselves; no other emotion feels more deeply disturbing because in the moment of shame the self feels wounded from within.”

Demanding obedience is a set up for bullying.

Parents often demand that a child follow orders and then threatens with consequences and punishment in the name of obedience. How is a child to recognize when a peer or stranger is bullying them, if this already happens at home? Even worse, a child will come to believe that relationships are built on a foundation of demands and threats and may turn into a bully himself. It’s actually quite a scary thought, but if we take the time to carefully examine the current culture which expects obedience from children at all costs and the ever rising number of problems with bullying in schools it’s enough to make one pause and think.

Demanding obedience hinders critical thinking.

A vital part of the learning process and development of a child is asking questions and exploring alternate outcomes. If a parent is making a child obey with phrases such as “Do this right now and just stop asking why!” or worse “Because I said so” they are ultimately denying the development of an incredible life skill; thinking!

Demanding obedience kills trust between a parent and child.

Parents can demand and then a child may do as their parent tells them but, ultimately the child will not feel good about what they did. In addition to damaging their self esteem, they will also start to question their trust in you as a parent. Why should a child want to do something, want to please their parent if it comes at a cost of feeling bad, unworthy and deflated? Children that are secure in their relationship with their parents tend to WANT to do what the parent asks but part of that security comes from being able to express themselves, question things, have their own ideas and still feel loved and wanted even if there are disagreements or difference of opinion.

Demanding obedience hinders the development of self-discipline.

Some parents nag and demand that their children dress, wash, finish homework, etc…and yet the struggle continues daily. The culprit? Demanding compliance and obedience. The thing is, constant pushing can make a child become dependent on or worse indifferent to those very reminders. A child may start to think “Why bother until that yell comes about” or “if they really mean it, they’ll yell at me.”In no way do I mean to say children should not be getting dressed, doing homework, respecting limits and so on, but demanding obedience does not create the inner guidance to do what we know is best and correct for that moment, in fact it squashes it.

FamilyRe: The Insight Into How To Relate With A Child... by Reyus: 8:07am On Oct 09, 2017
peppo4live:
In psychology, it has been established that a child's personality would have formed by the age of 5. This gives insight into how to relate with a child and as he/she grows up.
1. Be a parent to the child between birth and 12 years of age. This is when the spankings, etc can come in. Whatever you don't correct at this age, forget about correcting later. Correct their perceptions, their orientations, etc. Be available to physically incorporate values into them.
2. From the age of 13-19, you are to be a friend to them.
Many parents want to do core parenting at this age range. If you didn't achieve that earlier, you may not succeed outrightly here.
Note that one significant factor that can help the child at this phase is the God-factor. If they find God at this age or earlier, they will likely stick to Him forever.
3. From age 20 and above, the best you can be to the 'child' is a mentor.
At this phase, be an inspiration to him/her. Let your life inspire him/her. Let your marriage inspire. Inspire them to do things rather than wanting to push your way through. You cannot be adopting spanking and slappings at this age. That is if you are not slapped back. Because if you did a good job, you won't have to be slapping a 25 year old.

Conclusion...
1. Never stop praying for your child however old they grow. Never stop committing them to God's hands.
2. Never stop being a parent no matter how old they grow, but don't forget that life is in phases and maximize every phase of their lives by the right approach. Your child is not just the body you see but a soul with an eternity. Parents have a role to play in where that eternity would be.

There is definitely something not clear in their business.

All these above posts are promoting winthrills mainly because of the commission they will get.
Notice that they are all looking for who they will refer/sponsor.
It will be much better to say in simple terms how or why winthrills is low risk and good yield.

U still dont understand me..
Normally, GTBANK debit Three times in Treasury bills investments..
One for invested amount the other two are for their different commissions....
I was only debited once in my savings Account which is the discounted invested amount that's why I'm confused.
And I'm not seeing it in my online Treasury bank account statement....that's what makes me even more confused...
This is my third investment in Treasury bills this year with GTBANK...... one Matured last Two weeks......Now this my latest investment isn't there i have to be worried naturally......I can only see the one that will be maturing October 19th......the 364 days which is my latest investment isn't there.
Check yours to confirm what I'm saying..
I want to know if it's General....
You are not alone.. some other people have had similar experience. Do not worry. It be hell for GTbank if they do not credit your account on maturity.
I think they are using the cash value to do business that will give them higher interest margin than TBILLS is giving you.
