it's a beautiful place but it's too packed like a barrack. while there is nothing wrong with living in a barrack, there is everything wrong with paying #50m per yr cos i want to 'belong' in a 'crowded space'. if i hv a billion, i will rather buy 50plots smwia btw lagos n ogun, hv a mini golf course, build a 4 bedroom duplex n buy a helicopter cos of traffic. my own opinion bt money good o.
I love your vision. Why not include a full golf course and training facility for the under 13,U-16 and u-20 for the purpose of training, developing and producing the next world champions of golf and possibly racquet sports. I have always wanted to play golf here in Nigeria and the only reason is if you are not a retired government official or working in an oil company or highly placed in our society, nobody will accept you applications with N5 million to spare. Its only in Nigeria that i find it a class sport. I play it in Dubai anytime i am there on business.

We need vision like yours.

Nice week ahead.

Business › Re: CBN Reduces Lending Rate To 11 Percent by rhames(m): 5:46pm On Nov 24, 2015
DONSMITH123:
The Central Bank of Nigeria ended its Monetary Policy Committee meeting in Abuja on Tuesday with a resolution to reduce Monetary Policy Ratio, popularly called lending rate, from 13 per cent to 11 per cent.

The CBN governor, Godwin Emefiele, who announced the resolution of the Committee at the end of its meeting, also said members agreed to cut down on Cash Reserve Ratio for public and private sectors from 25 to 20 per cent.

The CRR is a monetary policy tool used to set the minimum deposits commercial banks must hold as reserves, rather than lend out during any given period.

Mr. Emefiele said that part of the key resolutions during the meeting was for the CBN to focus on playing its primary role of stimulating the growth of the economy by providing the needed funds commercial banks would use to to promote the continued operation of the real sectors of the economy.

He identified the sectors that would benefit from the special funding support from the CBN to include infrastructure (with emphasis on power), agriculture and the solid minerals.

The CBN should be realsitic on economic issues. It should continue to drive towards a single digit interest rate to stimulate growth in the economy not this dead policies they are bringing. I wish the laws should be amended to to allow economist head the Central Bank instead of bankers. They dont see beyond their noses in most cases.

What explanations can you give on three middle eastern heavyweights were buried on the third day of their death; Ayatollah Khomeini, King Hassan of Morocco and King Hussein of Jordan?

They were also buried in coffins which I understand is forbidden in Islam so to speak. But some middle eastern friends precisely Syrians and Egyptians were of the opinion that its not but inferred as result of the customs of respective communities or countries?

It is evident from all these happenings that Late Prince Alhaji Abubabkar Audu touched lives of the down trodden and poor people of Kogi State. It was unbelievable for many of his followers to take his death seriously. We are all here on earth to touch lives positively. May Allah grant his soul perfect rest and Janna Firdaus. A leader is gone and May the Almighty Allah raise a leader that will liberate this country from the chain of poverty. Ameen.

Thats why they always hated the idea that Nigeria is Africa's giant. Just because we will stop importing uncle Ben's rice and FG Wilson Generators from these countries, they start making noise all over the place. This is the first time the will fail to impose economic hit men on Nigeria and thats the reason for the noise. Very soon they will start recommending another NOI to us. Carry on with these policies Godwin Emefiele and the CBN team. Look for another 1000 products to ban from FX bidding then they will know that Nigeria is ready to do anything to get out this mess.

These foreign journals enjoy giving bad Nigerians good names and commited ones a bad name in order to soil their hard earned reputation. Did Forbes mentioned that NOI collected kickbacks when she negotiated Nigera's debt with the London and Paris Clubs, which eventually landed her a Job at Lazards? Did they mention that Dieziani Madueke was also educated abroad and successfully managed the Nigerian Oil industry as a whole to the ground in a few years?

These dumb foreigners should let us be as their policies have accelerated poverty in Africa rather than alleviating it.

We have been hearing this BS since 1985. A very serious country whose only resource is tourism and a global airline has completed its own rail systen in less than three years. And Africa's largest economy which is laughing stock of the continent it leads, is spending five times that amount to refurbish dirty thirty year old scrap vehicles trains for the same purpose.

Ambode remember a politician by the name of Benjamin Disraeli once said, there are lies damned lies and statistics. You are only repeating what your predecessors have said.

The big disgrace called the Nigeria Police Force.

Any ways, recommended for your reading about policemen is:

The sneering cops on the beat, the robotic federal agents, the condescending judges who dole out years of jail time for petty offenses, the narrow-minded teachers who do their best to snuff out creativity and resourcefulness - these are the liars and deceivers of American society who have fastened themselves to our necks like obscene vampires in search of an ongoing supply of free sustenance. They deserve to be exposed, ridculed, and replaced - and Ned Beaumont has begun this process by providing this book.

African sports administrators are a big disgrace to the sport and anti development. It would have been better if they bought him dinner after the match instead of this rubbish. When the players start asking questions, he is either threatened with a ban or disgraced out of the sports.

Shame.

Most Nigerians know how to speak English, Yoruba, Igbo and other foreign languages fluently.

I don't understand how a white man speaking Igbo makes him better than a Nigerian .
What the OP was trying to say was not his flair for languages but his anger was directed at the attitude of Nigerians in a bank. The teller would have explained that other waiting customers.
Politics › Re: Why Apc’s Alhassan Was Declared Taraba Governor — Tribunal by rhames(m): 5:40pm On Nov 08, 2015
kahal29:
The Governorship Election Petition Tribunal for Taraba on Saturday nullified the election of Taraba Governor, Darius Ishaku, of the Peoples Democratic Party.
The Tribunal, sitting in Abuja, declared the candidate of the All Progressives Congress and a Minister designate, Aisha Alhassan, as the winner of the April 11 governorship election in the state.

The three-member tribunal held that Mr. Ishaku was not validly nominated as candidate of the PDP and therefore did not qualify, from start, to contest the governorship election.

Specifically, the tribunal held that the governorship primaries purportedly conducted by the PDP in the state was done in violation of section 78 (b) (1)(2) of the Electoral Act which guides parties nomination to the position of governorship candidate.

It held that contrary to the provision of the section, PDP conducted the purported primaries at its national secretariat, Wadata Plaza, in Abuja with no clear delegation from the local government areas in the state.

The tribunal sustained the testimonies of the head of election monitoring of Independent National Electoral Commission that the commission was not aware of any primaries conducted by the party in line with the provision of the electoral act which produced Ishaku as the party’s flagbearer.

Section 78 (b) (1)(2) of the Electoral Act states: In the case of nomination to the position of Governorship candidate, a political party shall where they intend to sponsor candidates:

(i) hold special congress in each of the Local Government Areas of the States with delegates voting for each of the aspirants at the congress to be held in designated centres on specified dates.

(ii) the aspirant with the highest number of vote at the end of the voting shall be declared the winner of the primaries of the party and aspirant’s name shall be forwarded to the commission as the candidate of the party, for the particular state.

The tribunal said the defence by the PDP that the primaries were shifted to Abuja because of security challenges in the state was rejected by the tribunal.

It sustained the evidence of the INEC official that there was no primaries election in the state and the emergence of Mr. Ishaku through the purported election in Abuja was after the statutory stipulated time for party primaries had elapsed.

It held that since Mr. Ishaku was not duly sponsored by the PDP, the party had no candidate in the governorship election in the eyes of the law.

The tribunal therefore voided the votes of the PDP and Mr. Ishaku in the election saying “it is a waste’’ and declared the APC and its candidate, who came second, as the valid winner of the April 11 election.

Reacting to the judgment, counsel to APC, Abiodun Owonikoko, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, said the judgment was a landmark being the first time the election of a governor would be nullified on the doctrine of wasted votes. He said with the judgment, the era of impunity in party primaries was gone and it would be a lesson not only for PDP but all political parties.

On whether Mr. Ishaku will vacate the seat immediately, Mr. Owonikoko said the judgment “is not the end of the road, there is opportunity for all the parties to explore whatever the grievance they have’’.

Mr. Owonikoko added that if the governor or the party did not appeal within 21 days, Ms. Alhassan will be sworn-in as governor.

The counsel to the PDP was not available to comment on the verdict of the Tribunal as they all rushed out of the venue after the judgment.

With this judgement, Nigeria produces the first female elected governor and froma a predominantly muslim and sharia compliant region, Northern Nigeria. My wish for her is to outperform the male governors in all states. Victory for the women folk.
