obasiken:
I was part of a team that introduced some foriegn investors to a governor in the south east. They wanted to start a palm plantation and refine the palm oil to meet europe standard before exporting it.

This plantation will employ 2000 people for a start and return about 1.5b per month to the state government. All they needed was land.

The governor asked us how long before ROI (return on investmvent). We told him 6 years cos palm tree takes time to grow. The governor told us he cannot be investing for his successor to come and reap.

well well well. he has been thinking with his dongle while his wife was alive. Her death gave him an opportunity to spread a bad message.

The respective families are as far as I am concerned morally bankrupt. How do you explain that to his child with the other woman and themselves.

Honestly this is very bad one. This has relegated some men to dawgs and that will affect the guys in the house.

This damn dumb fetish practice should be outlawed completely. A very close neighbour of mine, a pharmacist dated his doctor girl friend for seven years and their parents objected to their marriage when they discovered the woman is an OSU. For God's sake why should this sledgehammer be the reason for their non marriage? This is the twenty first century men.

funkyibodude:
A female friend of mine brought up an issue that have been bothering her so much she said that she needs an urgent advice on what to do. Here's her story
She met a guy last year in a friend's get together party and they both fell for each other. According to her story the guy works with an insurance company in Lagos and my friend was about to go for her NYSC when they both met. So because of the heated romance between them, she decided to work her NYSC posting to Lagos state. During her service year the guy proposed to her and she accepted. So they both went for family introduction. Few months after her introduction, her father called her and told her that she should come home that there's something urgent he wants to tell her. When she traveled back home, her dad told her that the have done some investigation into the guy's Family and the discovered that the guy is an OSU ( meaning outcast in Igbo land) and their village still practice the osu caste system. So the implication there is the both can't get married. And if she insist in getting married to him that her family will not be part of it, literally she's on her own with the guy, she's so heart broken now because she loves her family and she told me she can't imagine her world without him. And more so she's few weeks pregnant for him and the have started making plans for their wedding. How can she break this news to her fiancee?!!.. She told me she rather dies than not marry him.

Please I would appreciate matured advice only because this is really a sensitive issue that involves tradition and beliefs, no attacking of any personality or ethnic group. it can happen to anyone out there. Thanks

Danny2701:
Hello everyone am a final year student of an higher institution in Nigeria, On the day am defending my project i got a letter from my HOD that i have been expelled from the school for using fake credentials, i was bothered and went home straight to noticed the fake credentials i used, to my surprise i noticed that the WAEC result I submitted has an error, a number was mistaken, 4instead of 3.
That is where it all started, i was told to write a letter of appeal for re verification in which i did severally but no response, i went further to see my school registrar and explain the looks of things to him, i begged him to help me and he agreed. He called the man in charge and he said i was rude to the team that verified my result (team that i have never set my eyes on) he agreed with the registrar to solve the issue and the registrar told me i can go everything is going to be alright. After waiting for weeks no response i proceed to the registrar again to know what is wrong and He start with stories.
The main reason why i want to sue my school is this.
The man that printed my waec o level result for me has a shop and operates in side the school environment. It actually happens the of clearance when the man that supposed to clear me told me i can not submit my secondary school notification of result, that i need to bring an online print out. Due to the fact that am working and i need to go back to that work I dropped my notification of result slip with the man to help me ready my result so i can come for my clearance the next day, this guy went ahead to edit a template to print my result in which all the grades are correct but instead of 39 he mistaken it for 49 i never noticed this until i got the letter.
The guy that printed this result later flee due to the fact that he swindle some students and the school never find him till date or do anything about it.

That is where am going.
1. Why will the school approve a shop for someone without the person having a reliable source or referee that can find this guy.
2. Why won't the school reinstate me even when i was ask to produce my waec original in which i did and they crossed check to see that am not lying.
3. Why will they wait till i finish my academics before issuing out a letter of expulsion to me after i paid all my necessary dues. (That fraudulent)

Please i want you guys to advise me on this. Thank you

You do not need to sue the school. Apply to the WAEC to write the school directly which will cost you a bit. Wait for the schools response. If there is no response, involve the NUC by writing them a letter stating your plight. Involve the law enforcement agencies like the efcc and icpc if there is no response from the school authorities.

if all the above don't work, you can involve a legal adviser and the best are the human rights lawyers like FIDA and National Human Rights Commission Abuja for full redress in a court of law.

Whichever way it is, these dumb sick and wicked psycho lecturers will still victimise you even if you win your case. Explore another option of starting your program all over again or seek transfer of your final year to another institution.

Good luck.

There is illiteracy at every level of society and the above picture depicts the level of one out of many champions. He should learn what befell the previous champions like Mike Tyson, Evander Holy field and others. Mayweather should call people like Robert Kiyosaki who could teach him financial literacy. That's what he needs now than never.

oh yes, u weren't the only1 he married for children. Funny thing is that, I was once in ur shoes. I got hooked up with a kanuri/arab muslim guy some months ago. We're both from the north but I'm a christian.Very young aged 26 and I'm 22 about to serve. All he wanted was marriage and I was so inlove too. He isn't married tho. When I told my parents about the marriage proposal, they saw it like I was under a spell. Like it's a taboo to marry a muslim because of their polygamy ish. My father begged me never to mention him again and he enlightened me on how I will never ever be accepted by his people because of my faith and it's true. See babe, they see u as ARNA, if u know what that means! I just mellowed down and rejected the marriage offer. It's kinda painful but I've been saved from polygamy. A pastor was invited over the issue and he bluntly told me that he's not my husband and he sees me in a polygamous home. Even if my fiancee wouldn't want to marry again, he'll be forced by his friends and family to marry as many wives as he wants. So my dear, it isn't too late to back out. U've had no kids yet which will be easier, just save up and move on! He's never ur husband and he'll never be! Except u'll accept polygamy.
The Northern Muslims major problem with such marriage is that they always insist on conversion for the wife to be, which is against the tenets of the religion. The Holy Quran states that there should be no compulsion in religion. Even the great Prophet Married a Christian ,Mary the Copt. Most of those northern Muslims turn the religion and its preaching upside down.

Family › Re: Married As A Second Wife For Child-Bearing by rhames(m):
xtianity or Islam , one thing you cannot take away from our culture is that of appreciation. The man has appreciated you and believed that you will make a good wife from the start of the relationship. You never objected to being his second wife in the first place because his religion accepts polygamy so does our culture. You took it headlong. From what I understand you did not consult your pastor or an imam on the issue of your religious compatibility or even your marriage.

Since he has been consistent in keeping you happy and making you comfortable as a husband there is no reason to kept out based on any convictions. However you need to be very prayerful for the following reasons.

You will not make a good decision if you listen to people generally because most of your friends will like to be in your shoes right now. Although, one might not wish my own daughter what you are going through, our journey paths in life has been designed and Sanctioned before we were born. we have no control over it.

Your husband is your best friend. Discuss your fears with him and find a common ground on such issues.

Prayers are important to your case. Your sole prayer point now is May God keep you in that house. I have heard of cases where a second wife gave birth and the first wife took in after eight years of marriage. So count yourself lucky you are married. You have become the source of envy of your friends.

Get a job right away to cater for yourself and any unforseen circumstances. Even the wife of Dangote works.

Inter religious and inter tribal marriage is good but it is also responsible for the ostracism of many a couple by their immediate families. You should play a role in making your relations understand your marriage as an act sanctioned by our Creator,God Almighty. Christians and Muslim worship and tolerate each other despite the violent attitude of some few Muslims. Make them understand that if you married a pagan it will be a different story entirely.

Is your husband a true Muslim? does he tolerate your family being around you from time to time? If he does, thank God because he is a good man.

Finally, beware of friends. Most are cynics. Your marriage or issues within it should not be a subject of discussion among your friends. Stand up to any criticism of and protect your husband and your senior wife. Go close to the senior wife as often as possible. Treat her like a queen and don't let her feel ostracized.

May the Almighty God be with you and protect your marriage.

Amen.

My heart is heavy as I write. I am in shock as I was write this script. I was just informed of his death moments ago by my younger sister.

Hakeem was a friend and a confidant. He was a star in a constellation and a man of integrity. He was an officer and a gentleman. He was a friend.

We both attended and graduated on the same day from Nawair Ud Deen Society Arabic School in October 1986. I will never forget his personal photograph which I still have till today. Back then he was one of reserved ones in class. He lost his father at a young age and that was tough for him but he trudged on to achieve much in life.

At his commissioning as an officer in 1998, I was one of those who praised his achievements then. On many occassions when we crossed paths, we shared our pains and gains as brothers.

Unfortunately this is the end of the journey for him.He died in the service of our dear country Nigeria.

May Allah have mercy on his soul, grant him peaceful rest in his grave and grant him Paradise. May Allah grant his entire family the fortitude to bear the loss.

Adieu Hakeem.
