Education › Re: We Sleep In Darkness, Attend Classes Without Bathing – UI Students by Rhea: 4:48am On Mar 29, 2017 |
Lautechgossip: Students of the University of Ibadan have revealed that since members of the non academic staff of the university began their strike, they have been living in difficult conditions on campus, as sources of water and electricity have been switched off by the striking staff, The Punch reports.
Academic and administrative activities at the university was halted on March 20, 2017, when the staff declared indefinite strike because of what the union described as “illegal deductions of pension money from their salaries.”
Aside the pension deduction issue, the workers are also asking for unpaid promotion arrears, shortfall in salary payment, and better welfare for staff, among other issues.
Some of the students who spoke with our correspondent on Monday said there was no water and electricity in the hostels and in all the classrooms.
“Each time there is crisis between the school administration and the staff, the students are always at the receiving end,” said Kayode Onifade, a 300 level student of the Faculty of Arts.
“Our lecturers now combine their work with that of non academic staff because they get the keys to open the classrooms for lectures to hold and lock them after.
“In the hostel, we sleep in darkness.
Many of us attend classes without taking our bath because there is no water. Both parties must reach an agreement for the sake of the students. The living condition is terrible,” added Onifade.
Since the strike began a week ago, gates to the institution have been locked, while lectures only resumed today (Monday).
Efforts to speak with the chairman of the institution’s branch of Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities, Wale Akinremi, by our correspondent proved abortive; as he refused to answer his mobile telephone.
The institution’s Director of Public Communication, Mr. Olatunji Oladejo, told our correspondent that efforts were being made by both parties to resolve the crisis. http://kikiotolu.com/education/sleep-darkness-attend-classes-without-bathing-university-ibadan-students-open/

Oasis007: The Peoples Republic of China Ambassador to Nigeria, Zhou Pingjian said his home country had approved $5 billion to support infrastructure projects in Nigeria.
Pingjian stated this yesterday when he paid a courtesy visit to the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, at the party’s secretariat in Abuja.
The Chinese envoy requested the party’s support in ensuring Nigeria’s ‘full execution’ of the China’s policy between both countries.
He also canvassed the need for co-operation and collaboration between the governing parties of both countries – the APC and the Communist Party of China (CPC). Pingjian, who was accompanied by the Chinese Deputy Ambassador, Jing Lin and Political Officer, Peng Chen, further intimated the Odigie-Oyegun and members of the APC National Working Committee (NWC) present on China’s domestic politics and China-Nigeria strategic bilateral relations.
He noted: “This year is a big one for party politics in China. Every five years, we hold party conventions and we draw a new blueprint for the years ahead. That means, major policy decisions will be made at the national congress of the Communist Party of China. A new central committee will be elected at the congress. The central committee will in turn elect the new central leadership.”

Career › Re: I Caught My Boss Pants Down With The Organization's Secretary by Rhea: 8:25pm On Mar 24, 2017 |
igwegeorgiano: Wonders they say shall never end. this is not a cock and bull story or a fabricated gist. its very real and its happened right before my "opolo" eyes. Just now, i mean few minutes ago i caught my boss pants down hitting sooooooooo hard on our secretary's punnany if you understand what i mean.
Every organization with randy bosses at the helm of affairs in various depts will agree with me that such scenerios play out almost on daily basis and this is not healthy for the health of such firms. personally its irkes me when bosses who are supposed to protect the interest of their female subordonates decide to take advantage of them simply because they call the shot in the organization they work.
I wouldn't want to bore us with where i work; but i'am millions of miles away from my fatherland NIGERIA. Please note this; i was sent here for a one year training by my organization in nigeria over a year ago. after my training our headquarters decided that i should be retained and i was later re deployed to one of our base here in the same country
Today, i am the first staff to arrive the office this morning. while ascending the staircase i heard voices and was like who could be in d office so early today? so i decided to tiptoe till i got to my boss's office. my office is directly opposite my boss's. secondly i noticed the cctv cameras were all switched off so i switched it on before going to my superior's office where the soumds were emanating from. The door was nt locked it was left ajar so i peeped. low and behold my oga(a black man also a nigerian) was digging so deep into our secretary's honey pot from all angles and for almost 10mins i watched a live porn movie playing out right in the office of my boss with him playing the lead role.
While this was going on and none of the duo noticed that a third party was around, i decided to go back to my office. while in the office, i thought of what to do with my boss and the secretary. i arrived at the conclusion that i will download the video of their unethical act in the office and keep it just in case. i want to state here that my boss whom i caught pants down this morning is never a nice man at all. he is a saddist and an unrepentant pvs...y addict. its obvious to me now that its not his first time of doing this nonsense in the office.
Back to my eyes witness account. When they finished the fvcking session, my boss and his accomplice were shocked to see me. the look on their faces were like that of a rat who suddenly saw the flash light of a hunter and felt like the ground should opened for it to enter. note that up till the time they finished no other member of staff has arrived so it was just three of us in the building. He (my boss) started shouting at me calling me names and also asking me a million question at the same time. All i did was to keep quiet and absorb his rantings. meanwhile, i have already switched off the cctv camera so he wont know that i recorded is stupid act.
After all the brohaha and shakara he invited me to his office and asked me to sit down. At this point he was so calm and friendly but i refused to be deceived by his fake disposition towards me because i kbow how wicked the devil in him is. He offered me coffee which i rejected so at that point he asked me if i noticed anything i told him straight to his face that question will not be neccessary cos i just came into the office few seconds before he saw me; but he suspected i wasnt telling him the truth so he he started making promises that i know deep down in me he will never fulfilled till he kicks the bucket.
I have his scroatums in my palm now. i don't intend to blackmail him for any reason not even for all the money in the world. but its gonna be a tool for me to keep him in check. As for the secretary, she has been pleading with me not to divulge the secret to a fouth party. she promise to do anything for me at the snap of my fingers. For a start, she gave me 2,000 euro just to proof to me that she meant what she just told me. for now my boss is been extremely nice to me in the past couple of hours but how long he intend to play this nicety script towards me remain a subjet of observation for as long as i am still here. i have passworde the recorded sexual act in the cctv camera. i will duplicate it as many as i can before deleting it from the memory. Igwe, you may have him in the ba.lls, but he may have you in the neck. I hope the picture on your profile is a fake. I hope the girl beside you na fake too. This kind matter na to squeeze the blokos very hard, collect ya largesse and bail like usain bolt. No think say ya boss no get connections. Dey fit visit you anyday come chop eba for ya domot free of charge. Blackmail is no forever. You squeeze very hard and then bail. |
Family › Re: 17.2% Of My Monthly Salary Goes To My Wife & Yet... by Rhea: 8:14pm On Mar 24, 2017 |
skypeme: Dear reasonable people on Nairaland, please I need your advise
My wife whom I love so much and also loves me too is entitled to 17.2% of my monthly income, my salary is 175kpm and she take 17.2% of this amount, yet she feels very uncomfortable with it
I pay the bills, buy food stuff every month and take care of our little baby girl
My baby girl does not take any local food, she takes only fresogold, tea and pap, the cost of fresogold is very high and she can consume 4tins in a month
My wife isn't not working yet she is still schooling and I pay all her fees,
I've never complaint of my duty as the head of the family yet she still feels unsatisfied with the 17.2% I give to her
Her primary duty in the house is to take care of our baby and prepare my dinner every week days and both break fast and dinner during the weekend
Recently I told her to take our baby to the hospital for treatment, our total bill was 11,500 naira but my wife suprisinly told me that the hospital bill is 22,700 naira which I immediately wired to her account
So I called the hospital to make inquiries about the exorbitant bill then I got to know that my wife inflated the hospital bill to 22,700 naira
I confronted her and she spoke to me very rudly I was not happy about this, I kept quite and didn't say anything about it again
I am thinking I should penalize her for her rude behaviour and the dishonesty she has melted on me
Will it be advisable not to pay her her monthly salary for two months ?
Will this correct her brain to default and what would possibly be the implication of doing this ?
She has not apologised and she has not seen anything wrong so far in what she has done Your wife is a consumer-in-chief. Even if you hand over all your salary to her, she no go belle full. She has no long term stake in your family, and is just buying time. She could even be milking you to satisfy her younger boyfriend for LASU. Whatever advice here is for those about to fall into the mess you already are in. You can try some damage control by stopping the payment. If she talk too much, you can rain down hell |

Harun111: I met this 22 years old girl 1 year ago. We both got along and decided to settle down together.when we met she told me her past and one of the thing she told me about her past is she had a baby when she was 15years. She asked me if my family will allow me to marry her I said that should be my decision.i went ahead to Introduced her to my family which all of them accepted her.but recently my younger brother finds out she once gave birth,he then went ahead to tell my family about it. and they have called the family meeting which I was asked to appear on Sunday.my problem here is I love her so much and we are planning to settle down together this year and my family will want to stop me from marrying her.most her things her in my house. Am kinda confused I don't know Wat to do. Am going through some emotional pains rite now. I don't know if I should tell her, any time she calls my heart beat. Please I need ur advice.. In all honesty, I do not think you are ready to marry. Marriage is a decision taken between two discerning and willing couples without any external coercion. You and your partner are the ones planning to get married, not your father, mother or great grand uncle. You do not marry to appease parents (unlike what most parents intend their children to believe). Most parents genuinely seek the happiness of their children when they start intervening like yours and dictate who you marry or not. However a good number of them let this love for their children to overwhelm their common sense of judgment. Listen to their advice as your parents, but DO WHAT YOU WANT TO DO. The consequences or blessings from your actions are yours and your partner's to carry/enjoy. If this decision is difficult for you to make, then you are not ready to get married. When you are ready, nobody should stop you. |

I fell sick(Malaria) on Wednesday around 9am@work,was able to manage myself till 1:30pm when my colleagues told me to go home when I couldn't cope. Got permission from the school's HM and left;was admitted at the hospital so I couldn't go to work yesterday but went today aganist the doctor 's advice that I still need to rest. Got to work today and was told that I was fired because I fell sick and was absent for a day & half.
My Question is, Is it a crime to fall sick when employed? The illness was not the reason. They were just waiting for a reason to sack you. Try to find out what other reasons. Did the boss ask to sleep with you? Set him up (if so) and get a lawyer to clean him out. |

CastedDude: Here are photos of the Christian woman whose husband took to Sharia Court in Abuja for "worshiping God too much". Read below what was shared by Nigerian human rights lawyer, Emeka Ugwuonye on Facebook.
Chinyere is a nice, lovely lady, a B.Sc. degree holder. She is calm and gentle and beautiful in many ways. She is a mother of 4 children and 4 months pregnant with the 5th. She is a strong christian and active member of her church. Her husband is neither here nor there. He is a Christian, but everything he does seems to come right from the devil's warehouse. He beats his wife at random and then heads to church to pray.
Like some Nigerian men, he manipulates all the gods. When he likes, he is a traditionalist relying on the customs of his people. At other times, he is a Christian quoting from the bible, particular the part that keeps women submissive. And finally, when neither the customs nor the Bible could help him, he ran to the Sharia.
This lady met with me today in Abuja in preparation for her ordeal in the Sharia Court next week. The man is actually asking the Sharia to assist him in getting separation from his wife for 6 months. Since she is 4-months pregnant, we seem to understand what he wants. He does't want to be bothered with her pregnancy headaches or costs. He wants to receive the baby only after he has confirmed it is a boy.
The lady gave me a list of woes she has encountered in the hands of this man. The latest is the fact that despite her Christian faith, the man secretly converted her to Islam.
I had a number of options and suggestion to make to this woman. I wanted to advise her to divorce the man outright rather than face the Sharia. But I remembered that many of the people in this group have insisted that God hates divorce. By implication, they are of the view that this woman should rather go with her husband to their new religion rather than divorce him. (By the way, all those in this group who insist that God hates it for this woman to divorce this man, raise your hands because I am about to advise her to divorce him).
Anyway, all effort is being made to protect this woman against all odds. Her greatest concern is her children. She doesn't want to be separated from her children. She has suffered so much in the hands of this man that she doesn't care about him any more. It is just her children. So, we are going to make sure that whatever happens, she will be with her children.
You can see me in the pictures with the lady

Only a morally decrepit man would have any moral or religious issues with being a gynaecologist. As a gynaecologist, you have the opportunity to save the lives of thousands of women ravished by cervical cancer and many other types of gynaecological cancer, simply by doing routine pelvic exam and counseling your patients on safe sex and healthy sex lifestyle.
If your religious values prevents you from executing this noble and time-honored responsibility, then your religious values belong in the dustbin. |
