It is said that he who it pinches harder cries out aloud, and that whatever makes a full man cry aloud has grown beyond his cap.

On that note, the people of Ebenator community in Nnewi South Local Government Area of Anambra State, yell out for an immediate rescue as a leviathan erosion gully warms to wipe off the community.

The erosion gully, which is one of the (if not) the deepest and widest erosion gully in the entire Local Government area, and in the whole Anambra South senatorial zone in general, has witnessed its most dangerous escalation, following a heavy rain that badgered in the community last week. And this quivered the entire community as it hideously exposed the citizens to their untimely death.

According to an indigen of the town who simply himself as Mr. Okafor, this perilous erosion gully popularly known as 'Ibo Ebenator' has claimed many innocent lives of the industrious citizens, cracked and shoved down so many houses, destroyed farm crops and damaged so many other property worth millions of Naira.


"The erosion gully has pauperized a lot of people in this community, rendered many homeless and vagrant, even as it has destroyed crops and other property worth millions of Naira" Mr. Okafor said.

The erosion gully was said to have been commissioned in 2014 by the Anambra State government under Governor Willie Obiano to the tune of about N300 Million. But ever since then, after a few paroxysm of activities and a wee crude work at the site, the Consultant (Nest Engineering Ltd.) and the Contactor (Mastek Construction Ltd) handling the work left only their signboard at the site and disappeared to the air. And since that time the erosion gully has been left to the worst as it has now worn its most hideous outfit, pull down many houses, blocked many roads and even currently escalates to a death trap craving for blood. It has also claimed many lives in the past.

According to the President General of the town, Chief Cletus Esomonu, the erosion gully has its origin from Osumenyi and stretches down to the popular 'Ofala Okechukwu' river, and is about 100 ft deep from the normal topographical land surface. He said that even the deepest well in the community which was the first project constructed by the then British Government in the community is now under a serious threat as the erosion gully now escalates closer to it, and that this would be very dangerous to the indigenes of the community as unquenchable water may forever gush out of it when finally affected.


The PG also said that due to its recent escalations, the gully is now about to cut off the only tarred road in the community which would then amount to disintegration and fragmentation of the community as people from the other side would no longer cross to the other side.
The people of Ebenator Community in Nnewi South Local Government Area are therefore calling on the government at all level and the concerned authorities to as a matter of urgency quickly run to their rescue as this ferocious and dangerous erosion gully is about to swallow up or wipe out the community and its inhabitants.

The indigenes in conjunction with the traditional ruler of the community H.R.H. Igwe Chinewubeeze Ezejiburu also call upon governor Willie Obiano to please respond to the plight of the people and extend his giant developmental strides to the community as a popular Igbo adage says that ''e mee nwata ka e mere ibe ya, obi adị ya mma''.

This plea is further justified by the fact that for about three years now, there has never been a shine or even a scintillation of electric light in the Ebenator town as well as some other neighbouring communities in the Local Government area, even after series of complaints and letters to the men of the EEDC in charge of the zone.

Also the only access road to 'in and out' of the community which is Amannalu--Ebenator--Ukpor road is now in its ugliest and most shabby condition. Although the short road is said to be a federal road and is covered under the ''Ihembosi--Ozubulu--Ukpor--Ebenator--Osumenyi" road project which has been commissioned by the Federal Government; but since then, no sign of work is ongoing on any of these roads, thereby keeping the people in hopeless condition. Even the Ofala Ebe Bridge in the community was also said have been deserted for many years.

Finally, on behalf of the indigenes, the President General of the Ebenator community call upon the government of Anambra state to come and harness to "Utokpiri Lake" which is located in the Western part of the community proximal to the popular Ofala River as this would be one of the tourist centers in the state as well as create employment opportunities for the citizens, when properly harnessed and explored.

We believe that our dear governor Willie Obiano will come to our rescue as he does always.

This is really cruel. A video footage which is trending online shows how a girl was savagely beaten by a big-sized woman (who is said to be her mother) with a cutlass after a disagreement. Rising from a meeting of the Zonal Executive Committee of the party held in Enugu, the South East PDP reiterated its commitment to national unity and also reaffirmed the party’s earlier agreement on the zoning of party positions allotted to the South East in respect of the forthcoming elective National Convention.

Presenting a communiqué after the meeting, which was well attended by Party leaders namely: the former Vice President and founding member of the PDP, Chief Alex Ekwueme; the State Governors of Enugu (Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi), Abia (Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu) and Ebonyi (Engr. David Umahi represented by his deputy); the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ike Ekweremadu and other members of the National Assembly from the zone; the Party’s Caretaker Committee National Secretary, Senator Ben Obi, Speakers of the State House of Assemblies and other principal officers, former governors; Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, and a host of others, the PDP South East Vice Chairman, Chief Austin Umahi, said that the zonal leadership of the party will support its candidate in Anambra State, Mr. Oseloka Obaze and his running mate, Mrs. Chidi Onyemelukwe (nee Ekwueme).

Frontline contender and candidate of the United Progressive Party (UPP) in the November 18, 2017 Anambra governorship election, Chief Osita Chidoka has slammed the governors of the south East states for what he termed failure of leadership in their handling of issues relating to the agitation by the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, in the region.

Chidoka, who spoke while fielding questions during a national radio interview monitored on Monday also rejected the military’s declaration of IPOB as a terrorist group, saying the military was not in the position to do so without passing through laid down legal and constitutional provisions.

The UPP governorship candidate carpeted the governors for going beyond their constitutional and legal limits to announce a proscription of IPOB, which, according to him, remains a futility under the law.
He said the governors failed in their mandate to adequately aggregate the views and interests of the people of the region to other parts of the country, a situation which created a vacuum leading to the escalation of agitations, and should have used the opportunity of the face-off to revert to the people and provide the much needed political leadership in the region.

According to Chidoka, “From a leadership perspective, it would be good on the part of the governors to do something to stem what was going on with the military, but in terms of the proscription of IPOB, the governors went beyond their mandate; they went beyond their legal capacity.

“All they needed to have done, if they were listening to the wishes and aspiration of the people of the southeast, was that, instead of calling for a meeting with Nnamdi Kanu, they should have conducted an opinion poll to find out what the issues were.
He said the question should have been, ‘What do you want us to tell the government that you feel Nnamdi Kanu is saying that we are not saying?’ “Then they should be able to seek audience with the President or the vice President and say ‘these are the issues’.”
“I believe that the failure of leadership on the part of the governors of the southeast became glaring to the whole country and their effort at announcing a proscription was beyond their legal limits. They should have used it as a basis to aggregate the views and channeling them appropriately”, he said.

Chidoka lamented that the military action occurred at the time the people of the southeast were already reviewing the modus of the agitation to ensure that it was not in negation of other ethnic groups in the country.

Faulting the military, Chidoka said it was not in a position to declare IPOB a terrorist organization, without following certain established legal actions.
“To declare an organization a terrorist organization requires certain legal action to be taken. Those legal actions were not taken. The military is not in the position to declare an organization a terrorist organization. So I think, fundamentally, the declaration was an act in futility.

“First and foremost, I think that government should follow the due process of the law to criminalize the activity of any group including IPOB if it violates the law of the country of Nigeria.

“Once they do that, then they will go to the next stage of getting the police to enforce that law. If in enforcing the law, the organization turns into an insurrection, then you can go back to the military. Anything short of that is unconstitutional and an action in futility”, he said.

Chidoka further called for auditing of the activities of the military saying such would help de-escalate the tension in the region.

“Now that this military action has happened, it is critical that we audit what happened. It is important that the claims of death and killings and no death and no killings need to be audited.

“That auditing mechanism that we have in the National Assembly, that ability to go back and look at what has transpired is important for us to deescalate the tension in the land.”

Chidoka, insisted that rule of law and dialogue, rather than force and subjugation of voices hold the answers to the agitations not only in the south east but among other groups in the country.

If you start forcing kids to behave like adults before they become adults, they will revert someday as adults and start behaving like kids (case in point is michael jackson who never had a childhood and ended up loitering around kids even as a 40 year old taata).

Mistake all through; you don't need a babalawo to figure out that this is heading to nowhere. An 18 year old boy and a 17 year old girl should be in school trying to build a foundation for a happy adult life.

Founder of One Love Family, Satguru Maharaj Ji, has called on the Nigerian government to bring ailing President Muhammadu Buhari to him as he will heal him of his ailment.
Maharaj ji, who spoke at the Nigerian Union of Journalist (NUJ) secretariat, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos, Southwest Nigeria also assured Nigerians that challenges confronting the nation would soon be over.

He said he was ready to heal Buhari if the presidency could bring him home.

“Since he left, the acting President, Yemi Osinbajo, has been acting on his behalf. And I believe he has defied Nigerians prediction that he will be a figure head. I believe he knows what he is doing.”

Maharaj Ji also condemned the ongoing indefinite industrial action embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) over Federal Government unfulfilled promises, as an act aimed to draw the country’s education sector backward.
