In his time as Head of State he reduced inflation from 23% to 4%, by fiscal discipline and a homegrown economic team (not achieved under any other era, even military).
Mr Man where are you pulling your statistics from. You must think you can lie to Nigerians about Buhari and go scot free, huh? You seem to assume that you alone possess the knowledge of what happened during the Buhari Idiagbon regime. Here is what you did not tell us about Buhari's economic brouhaha:

The Buhari government introduced a comprehensively rigid package of austerity measures that in the end worsened the problem. They closed the country's land borders for a period, the explanation was that government wanted to identify and expel illegal alien workers. And then he went further to place severe restrictions on imports and heavy penalties on foreign exchange offenses. The so-called austerity measures made it difficult for local industries to procure essential imported raw materials, leading many of them to close or to operate at greatly reduced capacity. Many workers were laid off, and government itself retrenched many workers to increase its "cost effectiveness." All of these actions were accompanied by high inflation. The price of basic food items rose, and life became increasingly difficult, even for the affluent.

This man's hair-brained economic policies did nothing than earn us economic sanctions from the west and further ruined the already bad economy, eventually forcing the immediate government of IBB to adopt the policy of devaluation and IMF conditionality, which further led to economic decline. I think many of the supporters of Buhari are not being fair to Jonathan's government when they try to hip all the blame of Nigeria on the man as if they all started in his tenure.

Buhari has served this country both as Military governor, Petroleum minister, PTF chairman and as Military Head of Government, what legacy can you point to his name? Dont you find it rather startling that this man has served in all capacities any politician that wants to make a difference would take advantage of and make a mark yet Mr Buhari has human right abuses and very daft economic policies and coup to show as his achievement. The man has nothing to offer Nigeria period.

WHO IS AFRAID OF BUHARI?
I write this because of millions of Nigerians who are below 30 and who constitute a significant chunk of our voting population.
This is the ICT generation that is largely ignorant about the events of the Buhari era (1984-85) and so can be
misinformed and misled by needless propaganda. I have sat with many in the under-30 bracket and those slightly above who only have faint recollections of the Buhari era and the level of ignorance about that era is amazing.

Before being MILITARY Head of State, Buhari had been Governor of one of the Northern States (under Obasanjo’s Military government) as well as Minister for Petroleum. He later served as Chairman of PTF under Abacha.

Please consider the following unassailable facts:
He birthed and supervised the establishment of our existing refineries.

For the records, Nigeria has four refineries namely Port Harcourt, Alesa-Eleme (PH 1), Warri, Kaduna and PH 11 refineries. In 1960, Shell and the then British Petroleum (BP) now African Petroleum (AP) came together in a mutual joint venture that gave birth to Nigerian Petroleum Refining Company (NPRC). This process led to the construction of the now popular Alesa- Eleme (PH 1) in the outskirts of Port Harcourt with a capacity of 38,000b/d.

The construction started in 1963 and was completed in 1965 (in this period, where was Buhari? he just joined the army in 1962) . As the demand for local consumption increased rapidly, the refinery’s capacity was raised to 60,000b/d after the FG acquired 60% equity in 1970 and the remaining 40% in 1978 through the 1977 decree 77.

The administration of Gen. Olusegun Obasanjo, in order to enhance the performances of the oil sector, promulgated Decree 77 of 1978 establishing the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC). The NNPC initially had five bodies, each with a managing director. They were all supervised by a group general manager. The number of subsidiaries rose to nine and later 11. Following the indigenization policy of the Federal Military Government under the Obasanjo’s regime, the name NPRC was changed to NNPC and its equity totally bought over by the Federal Government in 1978.
Therefore, the NPRC constructed the first refinery in Nigeria generally known as Port Harcourt 1 in 1965 while the NNPC built the Port Harcourt 11, Warri and Kaduna refineries.

However, the Warri Refinery was awarded by Yakubu Gowon to Snamprogetti Spa Milan, Italy in 1975 (in this period, Buhari was the governor of North-eastern state) at the cost of $478 million and commenced operation in 1978 (now he was a Petroleum. Minister). It had the design capacity of 100,000 b/d.

The Kaduna Refinery was awarded by Murtala Mohammed in 1976 and was built by Chiyoda Engineering and Construction Company - a Japanese firm, at the cost of $525 million and was completed by Obasanjo in 1979 (Buhari's tenure as the Petroleum. Minister ended in 1978). It had two refining streams (50,000 b/d fuels units) and (50,000 b/d lubes, waxes Asphalt plants).

Port Harcourt 11 was awarded by Gen IBB in 1985 with an installed capacity of 150,000 b/d and completed in 1989. Meanwhile in 1985, IBB undertook an expansion of the capacities of the fuels units in both Warri and Kaduna refineries to 125,000b/d and 110,000b/d respectively. He therefore added 185,000b/d capacity to the total 445,000b/d as at 1989. No further addition has been added till date.

So, when did Buhari build the four refineries? Lets I forget, Buhari has no legacy as a former Head of State despite ruling the country with an iron-fist.

Barcanister is a big fraud. All I see are suggestive statistics cleverly put together to exaggerate and paint the GEJ administration as bad without putting facts in perspective. Only a dullard with no analytical skills will look at the nonsense he posted and come up with a conclusion that GEJ performed worse in comparison. According to what he posted, the same OBJ government ran up the debt in two years after clearing it to 3billion dollars yet Jonathan is in his 5th year in government and has not average that kind of debt accumulation in all his 5 years running.

You say he has depleted the reserve but fail to mention how the former CBN was keen on using Chinese style of leadership to cushion the Naira. The man was practically spending so much on pegging the Naira at a particular range of exchange to dollar. Yet our economy unlike the Chinese is not an export dependent economy, he won't let market forces determine how the Naira should fair against world currencies and continued to shore up the Naira with our external reserve until recently when Emiefele took over and dumped the dogged pursuit of manually pegging the Naira at a range and let market forces do its job to some extent.

The Jonathan government has spent more money infrastructure than any of the past administration. The Nigerian economy of today is more diversified, much bigger and mature than the oil dependent one of the past. The security challenges have become worse than any administration has got to handle. The BokoHaram security issue is a much more complex issue than the Niger Delta militancy, unlike former, BokoHaram is not clear on what it wants, it has a huge political and regional support base that it will take more armed tanks and AKs to solve the problem.

That the Jonathan government PR is not very skilled in highlighting it's achievement and covering its loopholes does not mean Nigerians do not see the efforts or the deliberate sabotage of the same people screaming he is incompetent and want to get him out even with a worse off leader as an alternative.

So in that your little dull mind anyone who is against GEJ is in support of Buhari , where do you guys get your logic from ? For the records I think Tinubu is worse than GEJ , Yar adua is the best president we've had followed by Obasanjo , Fashola is the best governor so far and will probably make the best president if he leaves APC , Buhari , Atiku and Babangida are bad news , I have never voted cos I don't trust in almost all the candidates that have contested.
If APC becomes the ruling party with Tinubu as party chairman , living conditions might become worse. I work in the food industry and I know the role Dangote played in exploiting Nigerians when he had monopoly of sugar production , it is people like you who have closed their eyes to the truth and I really pity you.
Given the chance I'll vote for Fashola under another political party or at worse Rochas
Nigga, you argue like a child that does not know what he wants but just want to cry. I am not interested in who you support so long as I see an objective argument that is devoid of empty complaints and whining that does not add to the debate. I was hoping you were going to talk about how Dangote used the 2009 economic melt down to his own benefits but all I see I sidetracks and somebody trying to tell Nigerians that there are two evils, don't vote all together, Bullshyte.

What did Dangote do in the food industry, you seem to be very skilled in bringing out the man's evils that we Nigerians are not aware of. Can you please elaborate and give us instances of his political high handedness in the sector. Don't just bring up issues and isolate them from the facts, it is childish.

Can you remember, how Ibeto Cement almost had his license withdrawn after importing ship load of cement, during Obasanjo's regine, it took the intervension of the Senate to save him.
Monopoly is the game.
Nonsense talk of petty people. Which Senate saved Ibeto? The man got reprieve after two years from the YaraduA-JEG led government not any Senate. And he has since been compensated. If Dangote is the only one that is able to manufacture cement locally even after all of them were given mandate to stop importation of cement by a particular time frame, how is that his own business. People learn to argue with their head rather than their heart, we are talking business and you are talking nonsense.

Keep calm my friend, why do u think dangote is the largest cement producer? d government is by his side and have made policies that will not favour other local investors.u never seem to understand that a change in government will not only bring about more investors back eg lafage et al (elephant cement),but will make d cement market anti-monopolystic market.
This is just a means to pay GEJ same way innoson did.
My brother yara, this time GEJ cant tell us he has no shoes.
which policy did the government make that favors only Dangote cement? Nothing is as annoying as ignorance. Dangote and a few others promised the government that they will move from rebagging cement from Asia to actually manufacturing it here once his obajana plant starts producing at full capacity, so far he is the one keeping to that promise.

Many are still in the business of importing bulk cement and rebagging it, how long are we going to run our economy on importation.

When Ibeto and Dangote had serious issues to the point the OBJ government closed down Ibeto it took the YaraduA-JEG government to get a reprieve and even got additional benefits, no vat paid on his imported cement and about some billions paid to him as damages..... What else do you want the government to do to show support. Ban Dangote

Many of you lack objectivity and have decided to let bigotry impair the way you think..... This Dangote guy would have been a saint if he was supporting APC. This is one of the reason I find it difficult to trust any party that has majority Yoruba support cos you see them use their control of the media to swing and spin news to their own benefits even when it is a lie.

They would not have found anything suspicious if Dangote was an APC lackey throwing money around. Your opposition is petty and based on irrational criticism rather than substance. Many people here have lost respect and decorum since they started this emotional and very bias support for Buhari and APC, to them it goes beyond Nigeria, it is more of a bragging right for the Yoruba political genius of being in opposition and wrestling power from the ruling government. There is no substance to their opposition, just some childish, immature and petty need to be seen as the race whose efforts put Nigeria in the so-called right path........ The fact is that, Nigeria is already in the right path.

This is crafty wickedness, Dangote up till 30th of October, offered distributors a promo with a discount, making many people especially new investors and young unemployed youths to run in and start cement business borrowing money to buy large stocks taking advantage of the dry season with a hope to sell fast only for him to crash down prices within a week and not considering the sellers who have heaped up large stocks!

Secondly Dangote had for several years been producing 32.5 grade cement only, which had been used for all construction till his company was able to start ''producing'' the new high grade one and all of a sudden are trying to discredit the previous as low grade and largely unsuitable knowing that only this type is produced by other cement manufacturers in Nigeria.

Thirdly, this stunt is aimed at making Gej govt look good but the actual aim is to gain full monopoly of the Nigerian cement market and make all other competitors run under and Gej being a dullard cannot read between the lines. So if you or any of your friends and family currently work with lafrage, unicem, that cement company in calabar . . . etc. You or them might soon be unemployed as Dangote is more of an importer and re-bagger of cement than a producer as he has the sole importation licence given to him by PDP govt knowing that it is cheaper to import cement from Asia than to produce in Nigeria.

On the other hand, I can now selfishly continue building my castle while a multitude of negatively affected Nigerians weep
many of you just like to write nonsense, ignorant stuff and pose as if you know any better. In this country, the only Cement Company that can boost of manufacturing it's own cement full time is Dangote and that is why he can afford to slash price by 40% and still remain in business. He is not just looking at the Nigerian cement market, he is in Ghana, Senegal, Togo and other African Markets...... Stop writing rubbish, have you been to his Ibeshe or obajana plants....... Kid don't just Wright ignorantly.
Politics / Re: Dangote's Cement Price Drop Was To Support GEJ's Agenda by rhymz(m): 9:27pm On Nov 03, 2014
All these ediotas with their doomsday analysis and paranoia think Dangote decided to crash cement price because of elections as if it is a charity organization. Dumbos, it is a business and pricing can be used to gain advantage over competitors.

All these hate mongers and their politically brainwashed ranting always find a way to turn a good news to a bad one once it purports to put the government in good light..... Opposition in this country is just petty and lacking in substance, people wishing evil on their fellow country me just so they can use it as a talking point to justify why they need a change in government.

There is nothing wrong in opposition politics in itself but the idea of seeing only wrong and wishing malevolence on the government is petty and hypocritical. People should discuss issues and leave all these petty politics.

God owning a church is a figurative expression, it does not mean the leadership in left in the hands of some unseen deity randomly causing things to happen. The reality is that men make effort and tag God to it.

The said Church has grown so big to the point that it will be a very big problem that will divide the church if the man dies interstate and his deputies and regional heads are left to fill in the gap. I dey laugh all these nonsense talks of God owning the church, na when the church lawyers and investors show una eye go clear about the true ownership.

Besides o like the 212 better, it smells very fresh and mild..... I get compliments on it every day both at work and at occasions. The Tom oud smells very expensive and can get me attentions I don't want especially from my Ogas who won't compliment but give you that player hating look like they want to say sth they are too proud to say. So I prefer my 212 signature.
I usually buy it from my cos in owerri whose friend imports and sells it in owerri. But I decided I wanted to get it directly from somebody in Lagos. Na so I begin make research that got me to Zamara. So here is what you need to get in contact with them. I am getting mine today from them. Either I order for them to bring it to my office or I choose the option of going to their store which I think is some where in Surulere, not sure though.

Religion should not be a criteria in choosing our leaders.
with the same mouth use am tell your APC that region should not matter if you are sincere..... How is BUHARI more qualified than the likes of Fashola, Adams, Okorocha and the likes.... If not for regional bias why will it all come down to choosing a serial loser or nobody..... Schemes!!!!!!

Seriously bro. A buhari and fashola ticket will deliver votes 100 percent but guess what it will only be in lagos bro as naija dey now eh apart from lagos christians other christians would vote against it no be for this naija wey imam said muslims should vote for muslims guy look this matter well
which has Christians in Lagos are you talking about that will vote a very divisive fellow like Buhari..... I am Christian and I live in Lagos and I know that most of Christians shudder at the thought of a Buhari presidency. That is the fact. The man is a polarizing figure with very dangerous support base. His supporters up north are ready to kill any Christian or opposition supporter I'm the event the man lost the election. It is better he loses at the primaries than go on to pose danger to people's lives.

All these pretenders claiming Religion does not matter think we are all fools.
I have a question for you all, if religion does not matter to the so-called progressives then why does region matter in who represent the party for the Presidential elections, apparently the space is reserved for only northerners and you sit in your hypocritical arm chair and preach to us about how Nigerians should grow beyond religious sentiments. You all are full of bullshyte and you know it.
