Hahahahah.... I am going to go with Chris Rock on this one, a woman can spend her money on a man but only for a while, if she does it for long, she begins to feel like she is being exploited. It is just not in her psyche to be a provider for that long in a relationship.... Nothing dries up the p"$$y quicker than money coming out past the p$$y from her pocket to pay bills for a guy.... Lol.... Like there is a signal that goes to the p$$y that tells it that the guy is not worth getting wet for... Lol

I don't care about the veracity of the claims from both parties but your argument is very appalling and not to be taken seriously..... What kind of weird rationalization is this. Too many ediots on NL talking about agenda and paranoia induced conspiracies, can you lot just shut it and let people with good head comment.

And let's tell ourselves the truth, this article is rife with exaggerations and embellishments that suggest that Nigeria was able to contain it alone without the assistance of external support from the likes of the same America.

The CDC is American and they were very much involved in the containment process, we had officials from CDC and WHO training and coordinating health workers even before Nigerian doctors and medical professionals decided to be fully involved and took charge.

The whole coming to learn gesture is to serve as a morale booster to the American public who at the moment are apprehensive and equally are clueless as to what Ebola is all about besides the fact that it has killed many in West Africa.

Telling them about Nigeria is to pass the message that if a country like Nigeria with far less sophistication in its health system could manage and stamp out the virus then Americans can be sure it is not going to be anything close to what they fear about Ebola.

The strategy is to learn trace the contacts of an infected person and put them in isolation while treating the the resultant disease in the infected person's body and also give them drugs to help them stay out the duration of the disease.
HealthRe: Nigeria’s Actions Seem To Contain Ebola Outbreak -New York Times by rhymz(m): 1:59pm On Oct 02, 2014
It is very annoying when I hear people attribute the success of containing the whole virus to Fashola or LASG.... Was it LASG that set up those cdc centre's or payed and encouraged those health workers that were directly involved.

Was it LASG or Fashola that coordinated the tracking or got the CDC and who experts who trained and coordinated the isolation centre's and treatments there? Even the dissemination of information from beginning to the end was being done by the FG.

Why are some of these dishonest political hackers attributing everything to Fashola. Some of you are not even aware that the first doctor that attended to the infected patients in isolation was not even Nigerian but an American. We have health professionals from Argentina, Europe and America working and training Nigerians and all some people want to do here is to erroneously paint a suggestive picture of Fashola being our Jesus. If anything Fashola and LASG SHOULD give thanks to the FG for their efforts...... Left alone the state would have been toast.

When are people going to get over this rubbish nonexistent Chibok girls story....as much as some people want it to be true that story is the biggest hoax till date. All the stories about Chibok girls always does not add up and seem nonsensical when analyzed.

Till date, I still continue to say there is no such thing as Chinook girls being captured anywhere.....it is a big lie!!!
I don't even take suggestive nonsensical stories again from our dailies seriously anymore. None of these so-called media has been able to get to the person in question and verify from her directly, all we have is speculative 3rd grade reporting from dem say dem say sources.

Chibok girl of 20 years indeed..... some times when they talk about these girls, they make 20 sound like 3yr olds with no sense of awareness.

To show how crappy the news is, they immediately released the news of the girl's escape without getting any fact from the so-called Chinook girl. when further quiZZED she come begin get mental issues to the point she can't say coherent Jack but is able to tell them her names... bloody rubbish!!!

No serious police system will release any official statement on this without established facts and findings, little wonder the story is coming out from one illiterate police officer in the village that does not understand that such a sensitive issue is not to be announced by him or anyone in that village until the proper authorities verify the authenticity of the claims.......People just like sensation.

lakefist: You just spoke my mind .everything I am today I give it back to God and nairaland.I hardly visit Facebook talk less of lindaikeji bog dat has nothing to offer.
Seun has has affected so many lives positively and that is what I call wealth. Not buying 25million worth of car ,a car can only convey 4 people but seun has affected millions of life.We have seen nairalanders got married, people got jobs, business booming etc
Seun has affected so many lives howhuh Paid your school fees or reported a case of maltreatment or exploitation on your behalfhuh He only created a platform for people to use to their own benefits, nothing special a beg, don't bring the lady down just because you want to elevate NL and Seun, that is very childish.....

guy if it comes to that, Linda has touched many lives directly than Seun. Do you know how many times that Lady has used her blog to solicit funds for some very sick and indigent people?
She is more like to take a case personally than Seun, I have seen her take up cases of rape, child abuse and get the desired results..... I have been on NL since 2009, I am yet to see Seun do that, no matter what?

Linda several times create job opportunities directly for people using her blogs, don't just come here to rubbish somebody's work just so you can make Seun feel better. Linda's help and effects are more direct, you see her make conscious effort that goes beyond her blog.

Seun understands what we are talking about when we say we need to see him use and develop NL more creatively than he is presently doing. He can't continue to say because he wants to continue to please the largely immature crowd of NL, there will be no change, that will only lead to the death of NL at some point. Remember that before FB there was myspace and hi5.....trust me even FB is not sitting so comfortably to the point of not seeing the need to be creative, not when there is instagram and twitter to put them on their toes.

As much as I agree some folks up north for some inexplicable reasons are sympathetic to their cause, I do not believe BokoHaram gives a damn about the Koran or Islam in general, those guys are all about political rights and chess game of power..... nothing about their way or method suggests that they give a damn about what Mo or any Holy book says....negro are on a killing spree.

hakau is long dead, anyone that has seen videos of this recently killed one will spot the difference both in personality, mannerism and looks.
The original Shakau was older, slender and stern looking. He did not joke or danced like the recently killed imposter that some times acted like a deranged person, dancing and poking fun in his videos.

Lindaikeji was the first person to exclusively show pictures of Bokoharam members killed in Konduga... many of them layed sprawled on the street with some of them looking like they had been run over by tankers with smashed heads and decapitated body. Also some of them had their manhood cut off, Shakau included. Must have been done by one of the villagers perhaps in revenge. The image of the dead guy whose picture is alleged to be that of the Shekau imposter is exactly the image of that imposter. No doubt in my mind about that.

The thing is that, Shekau is now a propaganda brand tool, if one dies another imposter is dressed up and is asked to assume the Shekau brand to continue to inflict mental fear and torture in the minds of Nigerians who can hardly tell the difference. The difference between Bokoharam and ISIS is sophistory and reach. While Bokoharam is being led by largely illiterate and frustrated thugs who do not necessarily give a damn about the Koran and Islam, ISIS is led by a well educated, well trained and travelled terrorists with extensive intelligence training on ware far and torture.
The ISIS leader is obviously charismatic as he continued to get more Americans and Europeans to take up the cause of killing their own.

Shekau and the other imposters are a bunch of angry thugs who are confused as to what they really want. They are being controlled and used as pawns in the game chess of some powerful Northern politicians. The Chibok nonsense exposed many of them. I became fully convinced that the deranged Shekau was working in concert with a politician observing the whole Chibok Saga and how northern politicians were playing it to their benefits.
Any way, as more imposters line up to take up the Shekau propaganda brand name, one is sure to happen to them in the near future, The Nigerian Soldier will continue to plant bullets in their heads no matter how tough they think of themselves.

Fact is that a blog gets way more high ticket ads than a full website forum with traffic that is more than 10times the one that goes to the blog.....if that does not tell you something then you will never know anything. The fact they can be compared shows that NL is still playing lower league and news to up its game.... it is all useless crowd and no substance. I would rather have a community of very upward and vibrant viewers with the wherewithal to translate their numbers to cash than the useless and jobless crowd that visit NL.

princefunmi: Have you considered the fact that Seun may not have the same mission as Linda.

Tell me how many forums in Nigeria have lived as long as NL. NL is a community and simply because you have certain opinions about what it should be like doesnt mean its actually what is best for the community.

The most important thing in a community is functionality. If you have established a certain MO for you community and it has thrived on that MO, it would be foolish to change that MO. The design of NL can only change very slowly. Any drastic changes will lead to abandonment by users because it will be a departure from what they are used to and comfortable with. Who wants to start going through a learning curve.

A typical example is imclassroom(dot)com. Gbenga Aijotan had a good concept and created an Internet Marketing forum just like the way Nairaland started. The forum was growing steadily and I tell you some useful information was made available on that forum.
Suddenly Gbenga made wholesale changes to the site just to make it look different. The end result was much more appealing to the eye, but the forum lost its functionality. There was a new learning curve for users and there were also teething issues. Suddenly users where not able to use the forum. The overall experience for old members was not very good. Eventually many people stopped visiting and the site ultimately died down. As thriving as it was then, Imclassroom today is gone. That is a classic example of what happens when you change the look and feel of an online community.

Warrior Forum has remained largely unchanged since its inception. And it has spent a far longer time than NL.
Missionhuh What other mission will they have if not to build a social internet platform for Nigerians to interact, share information and even advertise wares and the likes while they make money out of it.

I don't care what anyone says in a PR effort but nobody and I repeat nobody goes into business without the intent of profit making, many of you need to be realistic here.

How many forums in Nigeria have lived as long as NL....the wrong question dear. I can easily name many Lindaikeji bellaNaija, iroko TV and their likes being a few that started out around the same time with NL. Take BellaNaija for instance, you don't need anyone to tell you that is a site well managed by real professionals that are vast both in business and in content management. They have very many elite viewers both here and diaspora and the graphics is very much up to standard and comparable with any serious social websites.

The most important thing for a forum like NL is not just functionality my friend, it is growth in the right direction. If all NL has on its CV is having an almost useless crowd that can not bring the right attention that NL needs to grow. If you think the present state of NL is OK then you are thinking small.

Nobody is suggesting a drastic change to the GUI, we are talking of innovative way and looks that can get NL the right attention. Have you seen Nigerian Village Square before it was hacked, that is what Nairaland should be like. The site was the most influential site during its existence. It had people like Pat Utomi, Nafada Bamaguje and very many big names. Contributing to topics and discussions. In the early days of NL many of these contributors kind of moved to NL and were making very meaningful contributions until Seun allowed mediocres to run amok with impunity that they started leaving the site.

The fact is that, NL needs a professional social forum managers like the type managing BellaNaija and the likes. It does not have to be Seun, just because he built the site does not mean he has to be the one to do everything. Facebook is administered by hundreds of people working for Mark. NL has grown past just one person.... He needs some professional managers to come in and help him grow the site and make real money like FB, Alibaba, OLX and even lindaikeji. Enough of the fiefdom manner of running the business abeg. The same mentality a lot of Nigeria's small time business men have. They let the business rely so much on them to the point that the business does not transcend them.

Until Seun decides to leave his comfort zone and take big business decisions like a well grounded business administrator, NL will continue to compare with blogs and not serious online business brands like Bellanaija and the likes.
BusinessRe: Why Linda Ikeji Makes More Money Than Nairaland by rhymz(m): 7:57am On Sep 18, 2014
Fact is that Seun does not have the managerial skill to manage and grow NL to the likes of BellaNaija, Facebook, Twitter and instagram that just started. Seun is just like the many techy guyz in my office, technically sound but lack the foresight of a sales person and an entrepreneur. They are just content with being the executors of the projects but can not influence anything and as a result are not as relevant to the company like the guys in administration and management.

No matter how techy one is, if you can not sell your product in a way that it translates to real cash and values, the result will be Nairaland Seun experiment. A site that started about the same time as Facebook is still at this stage.

To show that the manager just lacks creativity, look at the graphics of NL. It is a little different from how it was when they first started NL, you even get to notice it more when viewed from a desktop. The fact is that Seun needs to live the techy aspect of NL to guys that can do a better job than him, guys with exciting graphical skills and idea to move NL to the next stage and concentrate on the management and business administration of the NL business.

I am very sure that neither Mark nor Bill gates still write codes for their company. They have left all that tech stuff to younger tech guys who are more skilled and have better innovative ideas. Looking at NL, you would think Seun still does everything by himself hence the obvious slow pace of creative development of the NL brand.

Linda ikeji is the entrepreneur and serious business woman that Seen should long to be like. Not only has she been able to sell a mere blog to her clients, she has developed a reputation that even transcends her blog. A business person is more likely to want to do business with Linda than Seun even with NL's huge traffic.

Fact is that, Linda caters to a more young, hip and participatory audience than Seun. Linda has a face to her blog. Seun outside being the owner of NL does not have a face that one can associate to the NL brand. Nobody knows the Nigga outside of NL.

Whatever these teenage girls eat these days na only God na im go save guy wey go go approach them thinking they were some adults.

I had just come back from work when my homeboi asked me to escort him to see his smallie as we usually call some of these teenage girls tripping for guyz way older than
them. Determined to really have fun and socialize since it was Friday, I followed him to see his smallie, somewhere in Ozone, Yaba.

It took us a while to locate smallie as she was hanging out with two of her girlfriends and one of their teenage boy friends. It was kind of embarrassing going up and down searching for these kids who kept on giving us unclear description of their position. Finally we found them actually playing a play station game....imagine!!!

After smallie and my homeboi exchanged greetings she introduced one of her girlfriends to me, who actually looked way physically mature than the age she would later tell me was her age. Once the greetings and chitchat stopped we went somewhere to relax and just socialize.

So I sat next to smallie's girlfriend who told me her name was Eniola and kept on forming like a madam boss. The more she tried to talk smart and mature the more she came off to me as some overgrown baby trying so hard to be an adult. They made orders for chicken and chips while my homeboi and I relaxed with a small bottle of orijin each.

Seeing how smallie's friend was acting all mature and smart I decided to amuse myself and asked her if she drinks alcohol....come see sermon on self-respect and upbringing, went on to explain how she can take Smirnoff only when at home and all that childish crappy stuff....i laughed so hard to the point I was like; hope you don't mind me asking, how old are you? For some inexplicable reasons she just blurted something like 16yrs.....in my head, I was like okokobioko... like WTF was i thinking, she and smallie just didn't look it....what the hell do they give these teenage girls these days walking around with jugs and bums that will send Nicki minaj running for some silicon replacement in envy.

Once I knew her age, I just got disinterested and started talking to her like an Uncle would. Did not take long before they excused themselves to leave. O boi I gat tell my homeboi not to ask me to do this kind jonsing again with him, I am no R Kelly .....I like my women young and genuinely mature both in act and age.

Sweetlemon: Let's look at it this way; America is a religious country. In fact they believe they owe all what they are worth to God (And I strongly believe this is one of the main reasons why America has remained world number one power for so long despite all the attacks and attempts to change this)
Yet they know where to draw the line between being religious and being fanatic. They know when religion should come in and when it shouldn't. That to me, is worth emulating.

The military is a sensitive part of any government. The strength of a county's military determines the overall strength of that country. They are wise enough to know that only God gives absolute victory, hence forcing their soldiers to acknowledge this power. Nothing wrong there at all.
Nothing wrong because it is a religion you believe in. Hope you will say the same if you are asked to plead allegiance to spaghetti monster, God of the otula people. It all boils down yo choice and accommodating other people's differing beliefs, they don't have to align with yours before you see them as worthy of respect and tolerance.

You think so help me God and those phrases just came into their anthem yesterday. Or you think America's friendship with Israel started yesterday. As for Nigeria, you may not understand the happenings already expected of such nations who have given in to shedding of innocent blood in the name of politics and money. So the Nigeria you knew 30 years ago is the Nigeria you have now. Even if you don't believe in God the signs are there and no other book had so much predicted the happening at these times like the Holy Bible.

SeaGold: This shouldn't have come up for debate or become a controversial issue. The law states that an oath of allegiance must be entertained before enlisting and it doesn't matter how the "oath" is detailed since it has been accepted and documented as a legal framework. Human works and laws are consciously the works of our imagination and when such becomes tenable, we must upheld it as a guiding principle.

The airman is not force to become a Christian nor renounce his convictions towards being an atheist but is being compelled to take a fundamental ceremony that will complete his enrolment into the airforce. Saying May God help me has no Christian colour-ation as the word "God" is an English word for whatever supreme deity one believe in. The paranoid state of the air man is arguably an unforgivably state of moral bankruptcy and irresponsibly under social etiquette. Man is govern by laid down rules and regulations and we must religiously follow them to attain some level of society responsibility not being repulsive because of some clandestine ideological pattern.

People should learn to obey rules and common laws that guides certain initiation into organisations instead of being rebellious thus challenging law down principles of responsibility. Airman is encouraged to take an oath of allegiance Not to transform into a believing Christian.

In Christiandom, we are encouraged not to use the word of God in vain enterprise nor swore by it thus to ascribe this unholy ceremony to Christianity is unwise and a hypocritical blunder of magnanimous proportion to undermine the Christian faith and its doctrine. People should be guided accordingly.
Your argument is very childish and bias. Will you accept as part of an entry process into a government job an oath that makes you plead allegiance to one of the many Masonic or Hellenistic religious orders? Even though your are a strong believer in your Christian faith? This is why I always argue that human being basically have ignorant biases that always show when somebody different or with a differing belief system that is not popular makes an attempt to express them. You are being hypocritical.

MrAnony1: I pledge to Nigeria my country,
to be faithful, loyal and honest.
To serve Nigeria will all my strength,
to defend her unity,
and uphold her honour and glory,
so help me God.

Is it proper for a public official upon being sworn into office to reject the Nigerian national pledge and then go on to sue the state for not changing the national pledge for him?

What next?

"Change the national coat of arms because I'm a Jew and eagles are unclean animals. While you're at it I have a problem with supporting a team called super eagles."?

"Change the cross in the England flag because I am a British muslim"?

Where does it stop?

While I can understand the sentiments of the atheist soldier, I believe that standing up for your beliefs is best shown by forfeiting those things that go contrary to it and not by trying to force them to comply specially with your beliefs.

Edit: Oh wait, "atheism is not a belief" Now that's kinda odd isn't it
what a dubious conclusion. The man is not contesting for that part of the oath to be removed, he wants his right to freedom of belief to apply in this case ; he does not believed in God and does not want to mention the phrase so help me God. He has right to say I do not believed it and there fore do not want to say it. It should not come down to say it or quit .....this is very simple, don't deliberately create the wrong impression and confuse people with your bogus analogies, you are a known spin-doctor here.

CityNG: If you are very smart you would have kept abreast of developments from the beginning. But as the dunce that you are, you are late to the game as usual. It has been stated time after time that (a) it has not been tested on human yet, (b) it is against the law (in countries with a functioning legal system of which Nigeria is not which is the root cause of your inability to function correctly personally) to sell medicine that has not been approved by the FDA (c) the medicine was in short supply with only 6 doses I think on hand.

2) When you have to guess on debate you should graciously bow out and accept your ineptness and defeat. Don't wade into uncharted waters that your mental capacity is not yet developed to handle.

3) Thank you Sir. Coming from you and based on how you've handled yourself on this debate and your total lack of gumption, international education, lack of any wit, I take that as a complete compliment.

4) It's only 1030AM not night yet for me besides you're not going anywhere. Your bruised ego will not allow you to sleep.
Guy like seriously, just shut up already. Your ignorance is so annoying, especially when you feign like you understand what you are arguing about. It is so obvious you don't know jack about the politics surrounding the Ebola containment in Nigeria.

Like Frank already pointed out, LSG can only offer any meaningful assistance through through the involvement of FMH cos this is a pure case of National security. There is no how FG will let Lagos give assistance that might jeopardize the health security of any Nigerian, that is the truth. Ebola is not Malaria or common fever.

And Zmapp was not giving to Nigeria because of the US government politics not that nonsense you wrote up there. In case you do not know, all those pharmaceuticals involved with research on the Ebola virus are being funded by the US military. Tekmira in Canada to Fujifilms in Japan and Mapp pharmaceuticals, they are all being funded by the US military and government, so shut up and talk about what you know.

FG involvement with the containment of Ebola in Nigeria really did a lot to curtail it whether you choose to admit it or not. Before they got involved, it took LASG a wooping 2-3 days to test and confirm if one was infected with the virus. Until FG came a set up CDC laboratory centers in Lagos, Abuja, portharcourt, Enugu Zaria, Ibadan and the likes. Sensitization programs were largely coordinated by FG.
