Evil Brain:
Oh, ggod. So you've read the bill. Now did you read the parts that presribed prison sentences for belonging to "gäy associations", or for participating in "gäy processions@
/demonstrations?" or from promoting/supporting "gäy causes"?
Do you know what freedom of expression means? Do you understand the importance of freedom of association? Do you know why it is crucial that all people have to right to peacefully protest in a democracy?

If you say you've studied the bill, yet you don't think it's unconstitutional, then you call into question your reasoning ability. Because, like you said, this stuff isn't rocket science.
why will any heterosexual male that is comfortable with his sexuality belong to a g'ay association or participate in a g'ay procession?? You are begining ro sound like a closeted homo trying to vent out. Why don't you just be true to yourself and stop talking in disguise.
I understand your freedom to express yourself has limits in practice and is prone to abuse when left in the hands of people like you to misinterpret. Keep lying to yourself.

@rhymz

Have you read the bill yet? It's obvious you haven't since you're clearly still ignorant about it's provisions. Why don't you try and study the subject matter a little so you'll have some idea of what you're talking about before you post.

Because believe me, you have no idea.
You should know better than to downplay my knowledge of the bill as pedestrian, this is not the first time you have made disparaging remarks to make it seem like I don't know what I am talking about, but in all honesty, you know I argue from an informed standpoint and that is where you have a problem with my likes. I wont yield to browbeating, intimidation or even disparaging references jusdt so you can look like the informed one here. I have seen and studied the bill it is not rocket science, the stipulations are clear.
What I don't understance is your insistence to champion the cause of the h'omosexual community to the extent you create propagandist threads to hoodwink people into believing the Bill was uneccessary. You try to create an escape rout for the homose'xual cause by hiding behind their freedom to association to circumvent the unarguable need to ban marital union between two consenting g'ay men. I have consistently asked you to show me the sense in saying ok; "it is agreed that marriage is between a man and a woman and for that reason we can't accept gay marriage but we will have to give them their freedom to congregate to deliberate on how to get the government to upturn their ban on g'ay marriage, propagate themselves through propaganda depiction of the g'ay lifestyle as normal and healthy in comparison to heterosexual way of life and all that avenues that we all know give will on the nearest future give them power to propagate. I am all for freedom and shiiit but if it inimical to the sensibilities of our society, it must be legislated simple regardless of whether it affects their rights to talk about their sexual orientation in group and in public. Anyone can form an association the bill does not restrain you from that but if the association is about or for the promotion of homo'sexualism then automatically you lose that right, it is simple just like a gang of rubbers can gather so long as they aint gathering to plan a bank robbery you are within your right to exercise you freedon to associate. All these twisting of their rights will not suffice when push turns to shove.

This whole story is just funny and the guy is obviously dumb. That is what love does to you when you let it control both your head and your heart simultenuosly.
Besides, it is high time men in the west start a movement that ensures their right to polygamy, seriously this might greatly reduce the appalling rate of divorce in the west. Ppl just wake up one morning and leave their marriage for some very unreasdonable reasons( not talking about infidelity here o). Afterall sef, shebi homo dem don dey make inroads, it is high time a polygamist movement capitalized on their gains ask for thesame right to marry and Bleep as many women at a time as they want.
By the way, I find the comments of Vanessa's ex-step dad very funny and extremely on point, the woman is know fool, her Momma taught her well.
Hear the guy moaning:
"Anyway, according to the ex-stepfather of Kobe Bryant's estranged wife, Vanessa, she learned Gold Digging 101 from her mother. From TMZ: Kobe Bryant should have known his soon- to-be ex-wife would take him to the cleaners in their divorce , because she learned the wallet-raiding playbook from her mother , so says Vanessa's ex-step dad. TMZ spoke with Stephen Laine -- an inventory manager for a food company who was married to Vanessa's mother from 1990 to 2003 , and helped raise Vanessa from a child into adulthood. Laine tells us, "Her mother taught her well to wait for the ten-year mark [before divorcing]." Lol, interesting theory. Keep reading, He explains, "In California , it's considered a long term marriage and then she gets paid for life or until she remarries , just like her mother is doing to me." Laine continues, "I have to pay her mom $ 1,800 every month and clearly they don’t need it." Sources close to Vanessa tell us , Kobe's soon-to-be ex-mother-in-law is currently living in one of the BBaller's mansions , and we're told Vanessa is very good to her. Laine gripes, "I have a six-year-old daughter and that money could be used toward her college fund or something , you'd think she'd care , but no, she's spiteful."

Wole Soyinka is 100% right. And he didn't even mention the biggest problems with the bill:

1. It's essentially a sharia bill that imposes one group's religious beliefs on others.

2. It bill is completely unconstitutional because it attempts to strip a segment of the population (and not just gäys, by the way) of their fundamental rights of freedom of expression, freedom of association and the right to peaceful assembly.

3. It actually makes it a crime to lobby your senator/representative on issues relating to hömösexuals which goes against the basic concept of democracy. If people can go to prison simply for asking their reps to help solve their problems, can we really call ourselves a democracy?

I agree that the Senators need to go back to school, but they need to learn a lot more than the difference between public and private matters. Maybe the FG should organise teachers to read the constitution to them slowly in pidgin or their native tongues so that those rètards can understand their role and the limits of their power.
you just wont stop spreading your hokum. It is obvious you are a g'ay and wont admit it.
How does the bill strip anyone else of thier rights?? You just want to force your depravity on others and make it look like any religion is pushing for the bill, typical antics of the g'ay movement, play the victim to get people's empathy and before they know it, they are turning their sons g'ay and forcing others to accept them against their will. I don't have to belong to any religion to hate the lifestyle of homosexuals, those promiscuos bunch. Freedom of association my butts, go and tell that to Americans that wont let a pro-polygamist association flourish in their country.
Continue with your propaganda you will only win homo'sexuals and closted s'ex pervs to your side, no right thinking Nigerian that knows his roots very well will even give you a glance let alone think about the nonsense you keep spewing. Even Wole Soyinka knows better than to give support for the government to let pervasion thrive in a country that is already laden with uncountable peoblems.

Dear Nairalanders, I want to use this medium to inform everyone here that has gotten the e-mail or know anyone that got the email about the VIO-DVLA job and medical test payment is a fraud, the whole exercise is a scam designed to fleece the unemployed population. The purpoted claims of the letter are all false and have been debunked by officials of VIO-DVLA. They have at no time requested anyone to pay the sum of N1500 to any Riverland Hospital Account at any first bank branch, neither are they recruiting online. The whole set up is a scam as it is standard procedure that medical test and physical fitness test usually come last after a successfull interview and selection process. It makes no sense to ask everyone to pay for a job they are yet to get or be interviewed for, unless of course there is a sinister scheme that want to decieve people into believing that everyone will be selected irrespective of your performance during the interview. My cousine who recieved the scam mail has had his contacts in Abuja where the HQ of the VIO-DVLA is situated confirm it that it is a fraud. NB: Watch out for their agents; they will come online to claim the whole thing is genuine and that they had confirmed, some will even cite instances where other coperate organizations did thesame, these are just a few of the many antics employed to hoodwink others. It is like a syndicated racket with agents all over the states. For instance, my cousin called one of the designated labs in ekiti state only to be told to come with a sample of his urine test in a rubber can when coming. What kind of a quack lab technician do that?? Fellow Nigerians it is apalling to see how some fraudulent individuals can capitalize on the plight of the unemployed to fleece them of the little that they have to sustain them. My cousin alerted me to this VIO job scam and I went through it to see the plot.
First, there is no sense in asking applicants to pay for a fitness test for a volunteer job that has very little to do with one's physical fitness. One will have to first pass an interview before any of this processes i.e if this whole charade is even true. In most of the mails sent to my cousine, I noticed they were particular about the payment of the fitness test than anything else. The numbers they left are personal numbers and the said laboratories are all unknown labs more like a quick set up. Their antics is to divert attention from going to the real VIO office to get the real info. Even the letters are rife with spelling errors and omissions-that says a lot about the person making the claims of being the head of HR of VIO. In one of the letters they claimed they were a recruiting partner of VIO and at the end thesame writer claimed to be the head of HR of VIO, aint that a bitch. . .lol

Is the wall of the female a.nus thicker than that of the male a.nus? I believe you can only contract AIDS through intercourse if your partner is infected. It doesn't matter if the sex is womanly or a.nal.
what you fail to understand is that unlike h'omosexuals that are limited to only having anal s'ex, heterosexuals mostly and normally have s'ex through the virginal and have the option of anal s'ex if they so please. Plus your chances to easily pick up STDs heightens up by more than 20 times when you constantly engage in anal s'ex be you male or female, unfortunately homos'exual se'x is anal in nature.

I admire The Prof very much but on this issue, I feel his response was at best vague; he was neither here nor there, just using ambigiuos terms in a very vague manner.
Where a lot of people get it wrong is in their definition of what is "private" and "public", they use ambigiuos phrase like "what they do in their bedrooms" to dismiss what homo'sexuals do as private. If we were to look at it that way, then we can use thesame arguments to accommodate activities and acts which our society see as wrong and do not allow both in the open and behind close doors whether it infringes on anyone's right or not.
Honestly, can anyone view what h'omosexuals in the west do as private- how is organizing g'ay lectures, seminars, forming g'ay lobbyist groups, g'ay propagander through major mainstream media, false depiction of the g'ay lifestyle as healthy and normal both in prints and media, forcing religious organization to make provisions for them or cease to exist, private in any sense-unless we just want to conveniently ignore the obvious, there is no sense in banning gay marriage and at thesame time arguing for the bill to allow them freedom of association and all that crap that gives them avenue to further their cause and make the marriage ban useless.
Let's be careful in the way we view issues and make conflicting attempts to both sound morally upright and at thesame time sound politically correct, some times they can be quite obviously mutually exclusive.

Since you claimed to be in the medical profession, I thought you could make do with this medical reports on impact of homosexuality. It is a very balanced report.
By JOHN R. DIGGS JR., M.D.
THE HEALTH RISK OF GAY SEX
Introduction
Back in the early 1980s, while working at Beth Israel Hospital, I vividly remember seeing healthy young gay men dying of a mysterious disease that researchers only later identified as a sexually transmitted disease — AIDS. Over the years, I've seen many patients with that diagnosis die. As a physician, it is my duty to assess behaviors for their impact on health and wellbeing. When something is beneficial, such as exercise, good nutrition, or adequate sleep, it is my duty to recommend it. Likewise, when something is harmful, such as smoking, overeating, alcohol or drug abuse, it is my duty to discourage it. When sexual activity is practiced outside of marriage, the consequences can be quite serious. Without question, sexual promiscuity frequently spreads diseases, from trivial to serious to deadly. In fact, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that 65 million Americans have an incurable sexually transmitted disease (STD) .1 There are differences between men and women in the consequences of same-sex activity. But most importantly, the consequences of homosexual activity are distinct from the consequences of heterosexual activity. As a physician, it is my duty to inform patients of the health risks of gay sex, and to discourage them from indulging in harmful behavior.

Evil Brain:
Look, all what you people are saying is completely beside the point. It doesn't matter how much you hate gäys, what your religion says about them or whether their actions offend your moral sensibilities.

The only thing that matters is whether gäys are human beings or not. If they are, then the constitution guarantees them certain rights which no one, not even the national assembly can deny them. This bill attempts to strip them, and those who support them those rights, therefore, it is illegal and unconstitutional. End of story!

The constitution is the supreme law. It's above the sharia fanatics' religion, and it is above your religion. The "but I hate fäggots!" argument is invalid.
You are not talking to somebody you can easily browbeat by spewing lies and distortions. Show me where I have used my religious beliefs to back up any of my arguments or even say anything about hating POOFTERS. Why do you sound so angry and concerned?? Are you g'ay?? Or is the closet getting stuffy and you want to come out but this bill is threatening to take the fresh air you so badly are gasping for. You talk so much of their rights, yet my own rights and sensibilities means nothing to you, typical of a g'ay man arguing with people who diasgree with their life style or need to expand it. If you want to be g'ay it is all good but don't expect anyone to bend over for you( cos I don't trust you lots, might just stick it in the process) just because you are gay. Gay people have freedom of rights to expression not any different from those religious bodies whose freedom of expression are being curtailed every day just to accommodate the inordinate demands ans desires of your sect. Go and read all that ga'y rights nonsense to people who have been indoctrinated by the gay majority influenced western mainstream media and books. I am African, I have a mind of my own, I don't have to see things through the jaundiced lens of the west.

For those of us who have refuse to see the impending problem that this LĞBT and their agaenda brings: here is an excerpt from a Nigerian commentator on FB about how gay freedom is taking away rights from religious bodies.

Excellent Writeups all around. It's refreshing to run into a good number of ideological comrades on this issue on the web. Typically all one gets is the usual "thou shalt not judge" liberal types like Ade Thomas or on the other side thsoe who threaten fire and brimstone against homosexuality as if arguments by mere declaration, Christian or otherwise puts any matter to rest . I think Mr Olabanji has done a good job in highlighting the societal impact of granting legal sanction to gay relationships. For far too many, gay marriage is a mere abstraction with zero impact on their personal lives so they adopt the "what's my business, who am I to Judge" stance without appreciating the very real societal costs that this phenom imposes In reality gay marriage imposes very real costs on all our lives. We are already seeing here in the west that religious freedoms are being curtailed in obseisance to the gay agenda. For instance Christian charity groups in jurisdictions where gay marriage is legal are no longer allowed to engage in the adoption process if they refuse to place children with gay couples in line with the tenets of their religious or moral conviction. Christian Businesses like Eharmony are being forced by the courts to cater to Homosexual Couples or go out of busisness and Christian groups on colllge campuses are being forced to put gays in leadership or lose their ability to function. Military Chaplains are now being forced to cater to this only or resign and it's onlty a matter of time before churches 501c Tax exempt status will be outright targetted. The ramifications like healthcare are also often ignored. The liefestyle is in and of itself inherently unhealthy so it imposes a disproportionate burden on healthcare resources which is partiucularly troublesome since the same people that often push this agenda are the same ones pushing for increased economic collectivism thru universal healthcare and other forms of redistributive collectivist economic sytems. So on one hand they tell us that what they do in their bedrooms is none of our business but on the other hand they tell us that the financial costs of the medical consequences of what they do in their bedrooms belong to all of us. Other issues that people dont consider are issues like immigration policy. What happens when every Tom , and Harry decides to file for a Green Card for their gay partner ?? What impact will that have in terms of increasing the backlog and processing times? What is to stop the proliferation of fraud since any two men or women can now claim to be a in a same sex relationship even if they are not homosexuals? We are already seeing many cases like this come to our courts. If we reconfigure the legal definition of family to allow for gay coupling then what is to stop reconfiruation for any kind of polygynous permutations (2 men/3women, 1 man/4women, 4 men/1 woman) and so on and so forth with all the attendant strains on our legal system .Can you imagine the complexity of dissolving a 2man/3 women marriage in a divorce court?Especially if children are involved ? In any case thanks for this writeup Mr Olabanji and I must say am aslo particularly appreciative of your latter reference to Mr Obama (whom in my mind is probably the worst thing that has ever hapenned to black people and the future of the black race) due to his stance on this and other issues . All the best

THE ARGUMENT AROUND LAW AND HUMAN RIGHTS
It is important to make clear that the laws of man are not always made from the laws of science and certainly not from its hypothesis (you may also infer wild guesses) and theories; Man casts a far wider net in collecting ideas that form the basis of law and rightly so too. It is important at this point to burst the myth of universal human rights. Take for example the right to freedom of worship. It is evident that this right cannot enjoy full expression when its enjoyment conflicts with the freedom of others or even merely the preferences of others. Two quick examples; people understandably cannot be allowed to enjoy a freedom of worship that requires the sacrifice of other humans. Similarly, people (Muslim women in many European countries) are not also allowed the freedom to wear a face veil in practice of their religion even though that has no impact on the freedom of others. Also, the freedom of expression does not allow you to call a black man a nigger in America. Clearly therefore, the right that is freely enjoyable (and which is self guaranteeing) is the holding of a point of view not necessarily the expression or practice of it. Having made that clear, the trumpeters of human rights are in this case the bold-faced hypocrites. We know for instance that, most if not all jurisdictions in the west do not permit polygamy in their laws. The question might arise as to why people who are freely consenting and believe it (not that I do) to be the right thing for them should not be allowed to marry more than one partner, particularly since the concept of marriage is being redefined to allow same sex partners anyway.
