Don't get me wrong, I am not saying it is not bad however I am not God that I should judge people based on their orientation or the way they see life. We are all accountable for the way we have lived our lives on earth.

I already live in a country that condones it and it's not a gutter country that's full of sh*%$t  like Nigeria. By the way, I have learnt to live and work in an environment that appreciates diversity, I won't resign from a global coy that is the world's largest by Asset cos my immediate boss is man-lover, , that's why I won't use Phensic tablets for another man's headache.
So what exactly is your point?? That it is accepted in the UK, so we should as well?? When did west become the arbiter of what is right and wrong?? If you can adjust to the very accommodating society then be sure you wont find it hard to adjust to Nigeria's ban on same-sex union. Afterall, we live in a society that allows polygamy which is seen as a crime in your darlin UK, nobody has lost a sleep over the fact that the UK bans polygamy. Let every country run its affairs the way it deems fit, does not make anyone of them right or wrong it is a matter of societal idiosyncrasies and should be seen through that lens.

Did you take a second look at your previous comment at all? You ask why is it that polygamy is illegal in the UK and most Western Europe? Was your question. I deduced you were trying to exert some claim that only the Western world banned polygamy the simple reason I pointed to Ghana. On the other hand polyandry(which very illegal in almost all African countries) is frowned at by many Africans. Why that?

Come on!
my friend, stop confusing your own points with unneccessary examples that do not help your argument. Most of the pro-g'ay debaters here have argued their point based on the fact that the ban by the senate is an infringement on the fundamental human rights of these these- to borrow saga's vocab-POOFs and as such portrays our society as retrogressive and and largely uninformed. However, thesame guys can't seem to give any reasonable explanation to the fact that polygamy(which has way less consequences) is a crime in the societies of the people that are claiming that ban on same-sex union is retregressive and an infringement on the rights of POOFTERs.
What moral right do they have to lecture anyone on the ideals of fundamental human rights?? Is it not sheer arrogance for them to act like they are the arbiter of what is good and bad ler alone talk in such a tone like they were gods of some sorts. 4ck them mehn, they are not perfect and should not act like they are. They can tell us what we should allow and not allow, Nigeria with all her attendant problems is a sovereign state and should be allowed to run its affairs the way they deem fit. What I expected the people against the ban to argue here is whether the majority of the Nigerian people are opposed to the ban on or not, not try to ram it down our throat by acting like you all are more enlightened than those of us that are totally in support of the ban. Just because it is accepted in the whole of europe does not neccessarily make it a progressive idea, fact is that the gay movement has been successful in these places because of politics and power, not neccessarily a law borne out of the need to protect human right and all that facade. Learn to have your own opinions, too much of cable TV messes with the mind, too much propagander of indoctrination going on these days.

You obviously do not have a mind of your own besides regurgitating the misinformation you learn from mainstream western media. Little wonder Sag has been harsh on you guys, your arguments lack common sense as it is rife with very lame attempt to present polygamy as a worse societal vice than homosexualism. You keep confusing yourself with ambigious nonsense that even you can't understand, Saga has asked you to give explanation why you think polygamy is more inimical to the society than the plague of homosexuality.
Obi1kenobi:
It's best not to presume you know why people indulge in same-sex unions. It's not black and white like some people portray. It's far more complicated. There are people with hormonal and genetic imbalances that affects their intimate proclivities and several other facets of their lives. There are transgender issues that complicate things further in other people.

Some people do have a greater disposition to same-sex attraction. People can't always help what they feel. Some feel like women in men's skin and vice-versa. It's simply a lot more complicated than a lot of people are willing to concede.
. . If I am actually presuming, I wont be asking you to give us empirical evidences that same-sex union and homosexuality in general is a problem caused by congenital genetic disorder which can't be blamed on the personal resolve of the homosexuals not to curtail his sexual desires. Like I have stated before, every human being experiences different desires( yeah, the good, the bad and the ugly ones) at some point in the cause of our lives, it does not mean we should succumb to every one of them because we feel them. Your claims of hormonal and genetic imbalances are at best hypothetical, there is no such documented evidence that shows the direct relationship between this hormonal and genetic imbalances and sexual preference of an individual. Do well to argue your points with references to such a lie; it is like telling us that there exist gay genes or hormones and their presence can turn a human gay. So to such people it feels natural to be sexually aroused by members of his own sex. Can we also claim these "gay genes" for Bisexuals or probably they do not have enough "gay genes" to help them decide where to pitch tent?
Can you honestly assert that a majority of homosexuals actually started out as homosexuals, with the so-called complicated sexual leanings occassioned by abnormal hormones and geneshuh So what about heterosexuals that willingly became homosexual converts; did they all of a sudden wake up to realize they have these defects. Do you wonder why it is prevalent where it is legal to practise it openly as against societies that gave an outright ban to it?? Does it mean there is a direct correlation between the laws that allow it and the spread of this CONGENITAL genetic and hormonal imbalances. Don't you see the folly of such argument. Lets be realistic here, laws are made to protect humans from theselves, shikena!!

Obi1kenobi:
That's probably the worst example you could have used. Human beings are the most territorial creatures on the planet. The joke is on those (like Sagapoo)who keep alluding to the absence of homosexuality among animals as a reason (or the reason) it's unnatural and morally wrong when it's a patent falsehood. If you read my previous posts, you'll know I've scorned the application of animal behaviour to moral policing of human beings. You're totally off base, to be honest.
It's irrelevant to our discussion but if you must know, I love my women and imagining 2 guys humping each other is a repugnant thought for me. I'm not a homo, and I don't advocate it but I advocate their right to a lifestyle choice without persecution from sermonizing moralists
Guy, can you point to any proof that homosexuality is not a matter of nurture but a natural desire that honestly can't be controlled by homosexual individual. Even in genetics, I am yet to hear, read or see any any of such evidence that some people are born with genetic problems from birth that later turns them g'ay as oppose to the very obvious explanation that it is our indirect collective support in the name of protecting their fundamental human rights that has actually encouraged them to indulge in homosexuality. This is common human indoctrination and psyche programming, if a child grows up in an environment where samesex cohabitation is thought to be a natural way of life, of course he is more likely to turn gay than a child with an exactly opposite upbringing. It does not make the latter any less intelligent or accommodating, that is where I have a problem with gay supporters and lobbyist group. They want you to accept them irrespective of whether it assaults the sense of decency of the opposing majority. I thought the western society is the bastion of democracy, how come they are selective when it comes to issues like this one, imagine a handdul of the minority few holding the government by the jugular while the majority are forced to accept. There is no reason why homosexualism should not be viewed in thesame light with other deviant behaviours that require serious reprimanding legislation to discourage impressionable people that will be exposed to the ills. The only reason why h'omosexualism is seen as different from the others is because they are a powerful deviant group, period!!

Obi1kenobi:
Another person who just doesn't get it. I didn't bother reading the entire epistle written there but I'll like to re-iterate that the actions of these deviants (as you so sweetly put it) doesn't affect your lfe in any way. Your comparisons and analogies are wide off the mark because most of what you've compared with homosexuality violates the rights of a party while homosexuality is a private indulgence of the "deviants" which affect no one. It simply isn't anyone's f%#king business. Why not live your life, chart your own path to salvation and live others to chart their own courses. Why is that so difficult for some people to comprehend: the right to free will?
it is you does not get it, my friend. If I were to go by your argument,Polygamy does not hurt any of the parties involved. In Africa for instance, a man can choose to get a another wife with the full consent of his wife and they all live in peace and harmony; how does that affect the people involved. The practice of Ho'mosexualism is indeed private like you have rightly put it, however, that renains to be seen as we keep hearing one pro-g'ay lobbyists or the other coming with bills to the legislature to give them legal recognition to openly practise their- "O' yes"- deviant sex behaviour in the open, through seeking for rights that were written for heterosexual cohabitation. For instance, the phrase "two consenting adults" has been greatly bastardized, due to the ambiguity in its meaning; the vagueness of its definition, g'ay-right activists have surreptiously exploited the meaning for same-sex cohabitation even when the constitutionally recognized version of that phrase is for a man and a woman.
It is even folly to act like homosexuality like other pervasions is not inimical to any society just because the west recognizes it. To even buttress my point you only have to take a count of nuturted homosexuals in the western societies so much that we feel the ripples of their social/moral decadence here in Africa, no thanks to youtube videos, internet, cable tv and so on, we now have a handful of them in our midst occassioned by exposure to these influences. Imagine how it will skyrocket the minute they get their so-called rights. Seriously, we need to draw the line between what we call fundamental human rights as defined by our own values and the over-indulgence of a society whose moral guage are determined more by politics and powerful lobby-groups as against any moral standards or values. It would have been a different case if we were talking of a group of people who genuinely were born G'ay(and I mean real proof not some hypothesis or inconclusive experiments carried out by scientists whose research grant mostly came from gay-group to help convince the society that there is sth natural about their nurtured sexual prederence) but in this case a majority of homosexuals are impressionable deviants that got help from their government's legal backing.
Politics › Re: UK, Amnesty International Kick Against Nigeria’s Anti man-lover Law by rhymz(m): 2:46pm On Dec 02, 2011
I can't believe anyone can be comparing black and Pan African struggles with pro-gay lobby for equal rights. Equal rights to do what exactly? Legally accept a few people's excessive and deviant indulgence? Let's make thesame argument for people that practice bestiality, paedophilia and so on, how are they or their arguments different from homosexuals'?
How dare anyone insinuate that Nigerians are ignorant of the issues surrounding samesex cohabitation all because we have wholeheartly rejected such practice in our country. Accepting same-sex cohabitation and acceding to their demands for equal rights is not in anyway an indication of intelligence or a developed society; it only shows how subversive and manipulative samesex lobbyists can be and the general moral decadence of western society.
Is it not hypocritical and selective amnesia that thesame West and her governments that criminalize polygamy(which is very well between two consenting adults and does not hurt anyone-references pro-gay lobbyists used to make in their effort to make their case) can arrogantly sit on the judgemental thrown and parrot their nonsense about fundamental human rights? Is polygamy in anyway dangerous than the despicable practice of homosexuality in the full glare of the public and with full legal backing to support such a dirty lifestyle.
I am not a fan of the Nigerian legislature myself but let no one try to make it look like they should turn a blind eye to the issue, and pass it as a diversion or a way for the legislators to garner integrity and support from the "gullible Nigerian public". Such argument is lazy in its analysis of the issues and overlooks the fact that the issue homosexuality and gay-rights, lately, has been a burning issue in not just Nigeria but many African countries. Is it not obvious that these gay-right activists and their lobbyists have penetrated a lot of countries and subdue their government with the help of the hypocritical and docile western governments? Little wonder they say these days that homosexuals are made and not born, all you need to do is look at the society and take your count- many of these deviants are impressionable and indulgent people who have been nurtured by their environment and decadent society at large. There is no such thing as gay gene or anyone being born with homosexual gene, nature has not gone that bad on anyone, it is just what we want to allow. Every one at some point struggle with different desires-some good and some bad-it does not mean those of us that choose to conform to the norms are any greater humans or those that willingly choose to succumb to the desires are born gay.
I, personally do not have problems with homosexuals as long as they keep their very weird lifestyle in the closet of their private life, fine by me but to push the boundaries and start asking for some recognitions and right to openly assault other people's sense of decency and morals by advocating we recognize their right to live the way they want in our society is tantamout to asking for the KKK treatment cos we are "gon' give it to em the way they wont like it up their ass".
As for the Britons talking like Nigeria is an annex of the british colony, let them parrot their nonsense to china, iran, russia, the saudis and co. . The worst they can do is talk the talk, they need Nigeria more than Nigeria needs them, infact, the relationship has been one-sided-with overbloated loans, loan clones given to us to keep us locked up in a web of debt who wants that kind of aids. Scheeew, let them go to hell, Nigeria is a sovereign state.

I have noticed a trend here especially when it comes to relationship matters, a lot of black women here are so unneccessarily combative and insecure. Tpia and Ms Chima have got to be the most jobless and annoying women I have met on NL. Every topic that talks about black male, black female or interracial relationships has them there quarrelling and bandying words with the male folks and sometimes even their fellow femalefolks. Like it behoves on them to defend black women or sth, na wa o.
The poster is not asking for your opinions, he says he wants non-nigerian women that have dated or are at present dating nigerian men to come out and give their views(honest ones not unneccessary hot exchange like women who are hurting) about Nigerian men in relationships. That is clear enough na, all these talk about the poster being insecure, blabla are not needed, simple!!

It does not neccessarily make what they say an absolut truth or lie, that is what I am trying to get across to some of us here, thundering like we know about the situation then more than the key players. Katsumoto and his arrogant revisionist accounts, one will think he actually witnessed the war, write with so much presumptions, funny enough, he forgets that writers too write with bias and as such could lean towards a slant to support or be against. It is only a person of unparalleled presumptuousness that would assert that he knows all there is to know about Nigeria's History based on books written mostly by people from his own tribe and thesame bias.

Fashola too is good but Imoke has a better command, diction and style than he does.
