Honerics where exactly is the protest going on, |
honeric01: honeric01:thanks bro on my way |
honeric01:very risky at the moment as policemen are busy shooting teargas. At the moment I am waiting in lawanson for the protest group |
Does anyone know the routs of the labour movement in lagos. I can't afford to go to ojota, i am already on the road but it is kind of difficult finding a bus around here. I dont know if they are going to be moving along the lawanson road or even ojuelegba side. |
I think the Ijaw guys especially guys from Bayelsa and being too sentimental and are just unneccessarily throwing accusations that have no facts. |
This guy from Rivers is tryint to talk about their obscene salaries, he was unto sth but along the way veered off |
This ijaw guy just fall in hand, he has no finesse and sensitivity saying that the members are more concerned with the people's hardship instead of supporting GEJ that has been "bold enough" to mete out this wickedness to us. I understand the need for the niger-deltans to be in control of their resources but there is too much emotions from the niger-deltans as against the main issue. They talk like everyone is just about their oil and should hand off. .that to me is not the main point now, when we get to that bridge we go cross am. I like the new consciousness of the igbo r people they have been quite clever in the way they lay their support whether for or against. |
This yakubu guy from Kaduna is an insincere pretender, why is he not talking about their salaries. |
The reason for this clown's support is because if the subsidy continues the government wont be able to pay salaries. . That is the reason he supports it, what an insensitve cretin. |
These guyz are binch of clowns. No sense of urgency and seriousness in their conduct. Now it is the turn of those in support. Mr Yenegoa oya come annoy us, guys get ready to gnash your teeth and clench ur fist, they had better not be articulte i pray. . Lol |
Somebody just opened the ground for us to talk about the cost. . Lol. . Now I am going to watch these overpaid numbskulls shoot themselves in their legs. Yeah, Mr President is away in RSA with an intimidating retinue just as you MPs unjustly feed fat on our collective wealth with your obscene salaries. . .lets talk about it. nadkaf:i couldn't agree more. |
Not too fast, make una no begin conclude that it is a done deal. So far, the guys that are allowed to speak are those not in support of the subsidy removal, una go begin vex when those in support start their own turn. You guys are had better hope they are not articulate and have better arguments than the feel good rhetorics of the members speaking at the moment. |
The guys that are not in support of the subsidy removal so far have been very shallow and a lot of them don't even understand the premise of the budget extension. I hope the guyz in support are not articulate enough to garner sympathy from the undecided o. . . How come nobody is saying anything about the insecurity in the land? |
Seriously, these guys are just pandering, I am ashamed a majority of them lack the knowledge of what they are debating about, this is not about cheerful and populist soundbites coupled with borrowed points that are shallow and trite. Let's see some serious intellectual debate that directly discusses the main issues here biko. . . This is not funny at all. |
Fucktards trying to save face by taking advantage of public mood while they deflect us from the main issue, their obscene salaries and emoluments that is crippling the Nigerian economy. I hope it does not end around populist debate. I no even sabi wetin dey make these idiots laugh, you guys had better be seriouos or risk a violent revolution. |
Come saturdaay I shall be at the national stadium with other concerned Nigerians to protest this scam of a govt. If he is realy ready to curb wastage and corruption then he will have to start from the top. As long as there is institutional corruption in the system even if the government makes a trillion naira from this wicked policy, there still wont be any tangible development that will affect the lives of the ordinary Nigerian person. He can't be ralking about sacrifice when he and his cronies alotted close to a billion naira just for food in aso-rock, 1.2billion just on a hospital in aso-rock and other frivolous wastage like this; where is the urgency in his approach? This is not the time to just vent in front of a computer screen, Nigerian youths must come out and protest, I am going to come out myself, this should not be seen just as a stay home holiday, while the strike last, we must take advantage and peacefully protest in the streets too. Jonathan must feel the power of the majority, he is a lameduck whose government has been hijacked by some of his cabinet members. Imagine a bag of rice now selling for 15k from the former 8k price. This is not just about transportation alone, our economy is petro-dollar based, any increase in price will disrupt everything. Imagine ppl coming back from the east had to pay as much as 12k-15k and some goons here all because they are a little financially well off are busy talking about the benefits of the subsidy removal even when it is glaringly clear thesame cankerworms that have made it impossible for Nigeria to make any developmental stride inspite of the billions that acrues to the government will also de our whatever amount they make from such a scam. Thank God even the intelligentia are begining to see the need to protest this anomaly, it is unfortunate GEJ lacks the intellectual capacity to even understand the details of the copy and paste economics his ministers are suggesting to him, he is more of go ahead and do what you think is good kind of president, little wonder he is not in control of anything. What has he done to address the rot in NNPC. . . Nothing, he instead is calling business men cabals, what a crap!! Face the real spoilers and stop chasing shadows, I careless if there is an unforeseen forces that devours the monies budgeted for the oil subsidy as long as we get fuel for the decent price of N65, it is nobody's fault that your government is incapable of regulating the system and business men who are as usual all about profit making exploit the loopholes your government created through oversight in the first place. Anybody that supports the removal can sit back in his house and watch real Nigerians take back the country; afterall, it is expected that we can't all agree but the majority must always be the winners anyways. |
Alj-aharam abeg, don't quotr me again. I have consistently told you that I don't fancy debating with you, you are a pretender that swings hapharzardly depending on the sides that supports your delusions. Please be sure next time not to quote me, just skip over my post like I do yours. |
SE/SS are also affected by the hardship and are complaining. People should stop making baseless assertions, the SE/SS are as well assessing the situation on ground and are as well going to come out with their own action but there has to be a clear purpose of what we hope to achieve. Is not by protesting and tearing down properties but by coordinated efforts. Events are still unfolding, let us not move faster than our shadows. |
Breaking News: there is already some serious protest going on in Ikorodu and lawason, the protesters are increasing in Number and heading to Alausa, they also are picketting filling stations. Also in Lokoja, and some northern states. |
I am realy worried about the prospects of this country. GEJ obviously is a lameduck and surreptituosly, his government has been hijacked by his western controlled Ministers. This action has shown how dishonest, cunning and unreliable this government is. The timing shows insensitivity and dishonesty. God, the people of this country are suffering greatly and have been tamed with very wicked economic policies to a numbing projection. Obviously, people are begining to wake up to the realities of the new price regime. NLC that would have been the corner stone for an effective revolutionary protest is compromised, Nigerians do not believe in thier ability to lead them to the desired conclusion. The collection of signature that was taking place at Eagle square yestarday was interrupted by a joint force of police and SARS shooting canisters tear gas into the crowd and arresting the organizers of the protest. Here in Lagos, all we have seen is just mere talk and no serious effort to resist this policy. Imagine paying N400 from mile 2 to oshodi? This is not the time for anyone to get tribal and alienate others with comments that are borderline tribalistic and alienating. No one tribe can pull it through without the involvement of others else their actions will be seen uneccessary trouble stoking. What we need is a nation wide co-ordinated protest that will bring every economic activity to a grinding halt, everyone must go beyond tough talking internet rhetorics and come out to vent their displeasure through a peaceful protest and even get violent if need be. This government has got to be the most corrupt-ridden in the history of this country. If there is going to be any sacrifice we must see examples from our government. Why are they quick to remove subsidy without making any move to get the people that have corruptly hijacked the subsidy scheme, what about taking measures to reduce the cost of running the government, imagine aso rock spending a billion naira on food? What about the obscene allowances and salaries of NA members and the ministers? How come there is no serious debate in that direction. Nigerians must not take this lying low. |
I brought that up because of the nonsense planner was typing, I mean he brought it up first and I just expanded on it. Toaskarity. I wish other Igbos are calm as you on this forum, then we would have a better forum. Now concerning the bombing in the north and how it affects others. You see, I would explain to you and I wish you can understand this truth. Now in the whole of Nigeria, as you rightly said, we have 250 ethnic groups. out of those 250, Igbos are one of the most populous and the Most travelled. You would find Igbo people in everywhere and as you well know, Igbos are Christians mostly catholic. The bombing of a catholic church would certainly affect Igbos the most no matter the region the bomb takes off. Now that is just 1 church, compare to the mosque which was 2 attacks I was telling you of the various attack in Mosques and since it is in the northern part of the country the attack went off. the victims are mostly Northerners. Now we know boko haram does not fight for northerners, muslims nor Nigerians. The only logical conclusion is the boko haram is a terrorities group out there can claiming falsehood of them fighting for Islam. THIS IS A LIE. Once we tribalise or religionize any attack of boko haram, we are just giving them more power by pointing out the people they are fighting for. This what I am trying to avoid.
You are such a flippant lier and a pretender. I have asked you several times to provide us with documented evidence of a BokoHaram bomb attack on a mosque yet you keep making untrue assertions about mosques being attacked. Imagine how condescending you sounded talking about the church bombing as just one attack compared to your fictituos multiple mosque attacks. You do not deserve anybody's time cos you agrue on borrowed points that you barely understand, you would rather justify the 1960s pogrom than admit it was characteristic terror streak that is common with every northerner. Yes Igbos are everywhere in Nigeria but I doubt if they make up the majority of the population of these states that should make them a constant victim feature in almost every attack and unrest in Nigeria and the north in particular. The other time it was "randomly" a market full of Igbo traders and the bomb had to be thrown into an Igbo man's shop and once again it was the Igbos that counted the highest loss. During the NYSC election manhaunt by those almajiri thesame Igbo dominated the list of their victims, yet no Igbo has ever launched an unprovoked attack on any tribe or northerners in particular. Abi you no sabi say after the Igbos the most itierant tribe is the Hausa/fulanis? Or you think others can't choose to victimize them? Yet they are allowed to enjoy the freedom in the southern region they don't allow others enjoy in their own region. This goes beyond BokoHaram, your people have this recurrent murderous characteristics whether in a group or as individual especially when one is at their mercy. So go preach all that your pretentious mumbo-jumbo to people who do not know what you are all about. Like Onlytruth has said, you should be treated like a disease, a tumour that should be cut off. Abeg go siddon make better ppl contribute you and your two-sided, flipping personalities are gross and annoying. I have always asked if you suffer from split personality dis-oreder cos you are full of discordant tunes and stupifying inconsistent streak that is worrying. |
islamrules:I am trying to say that this particular attack has not yet been confirmed that it was BokoHaram that did it, it sounds desperate for anyone to conclude that BokoHaram did this one just to divert attention from the fact that this whole thing is a deliberate agression of a religion on another religion likewise. It is possible it is reprisal or even by another political sect that want to give the wrong impression that BokoHaram does not have religious leaning and even deliberately attack their own people for no just cause when that is not the case. Learn to read between the lines. |
cowards attacking helpless innocent children! just like their fellow bokos or are they just paid thugs running an errend in a grand scheme to throw this country into war?
so you would rather muslims go to their mosque comfortably without any fear of a reprisal from christians while islamic zealots bomb christians in their own place of worship right, left and centre. I am support that muslims should be made to feel the pains of christians as well. You claim BokoHaram is not fighting for muslims, that is a very naive and intellectually dishonest claim to make, here is excerpt from vanguard on Bokoharam's justification for the Xmas bombings: "Boko Haram has however justified its Christmas bombings at the St Theresa catholic Church Madalla, saying it was a reprisal for the Muslims killed in parts of the north by Christians. It also threatened to unleash more strikes today, December31 an January 1." If you still delude yourself that they aint following violent koranic injunctions to perpetuate these hate crimes then you are a bonafide religious scam artiste yourself. Their ideology is very much grounded and inspired by the koran, if you want i can even post one of such injunctions by your prophet mohammed ordering them to kill infidels and take over their space, if only the prophet understood the implication of such an ambigious statement. Now you lot want to dissociate yourself from them cos shit has hit the fan. Don't be mad my dear, these guys are the ones following the koran to its last letter, infact, they are the true muslims, they are practising the religion of "PEACE" in its purest and undiluted form, if you doubt me ask Mutallab, at least the kid did not look stewpid like an average Almajiri before he too got the "islamic fever". |
Let us get somethings clear here before people start running off with the wrong information. The bomb blast was at a market near a mosque and not in the mosque. Also, BokoHaram has not claimed any responsibility, any suggestion that it was BokoHaram that carried out the attack is speculative and originated from the Nigerian military intelligence. So far no group or sect has claimed responsibility and giving the reasons by the BokoHaram sect for the multiple Xmas attack, excerpt from the vanguard news report: "Boko Haram has however justified its Christmas bombings at the St Theresa catholic Church Madalla, saying it was a reprisal for the Muslims killed in parts of the north by Christians. It also threatened to unleash more strikes today, December31 an January 1." It is very unlikely that they are responsible for yestarday's bombing that claimed 4 people's lives. Obviously, both the Nigerian intelligence agencies and the muslim community are hoping it is not a reprisal attack as that will escalate the situation that is why they would rather it was thesame BokoHaram and swiftly suggest it both in their reports and response to the international community. However, there is a very strong possibility that this attack was not carried out by Bokoharam, it could be a reprisal or even by a muslim group that seriously want to give it a more political colouration than the religious one that is fast becoming the obvious. So people should stop commenting like it is already a fact that the BokoHaram sect is responsible. Perhaps there are other splinter armed group in the north with political leanings that hide under the veil of BokoHaram sect to perpetuate this discordant bombing agitation. |
Odunnu:Funny enough, I have discovered another very dubious features of these guys. Will have to give it to them though, this guys are computer savvy, I just notice that these guys just registered but somehow managed to backdate their date of registration to feb12, 2008. I noticed this same criminal streak on another rogue in a thread I created like this one to alert the unsuspecting public on the imminent fraud in the VIO-DVLA scheme. The dude's statement was similar to that of this scamartiste here, when I looked him up too, I noticed his registration date was exactly feb 13, 2008 and it was his first post as well. Me i dey wonder how person go register since 2008 and not make any comment until this scam and they still remember their username and password. More baffling is the fact that they are plenty of them like that laying siege on blogosphere and looking for people to decieve. Make God punish all of them. |
ENITANSEYI:You are a bonafide criminal. So you registered just so you can decieve people into paying your criminal masters. Make God punish you and your generation, no go find better work do. Yahoo rogue wey no sabi anything. |
mamasani:seriously, you have a defeatist mentality, I want to believe you flawed views and junk statistics are not representative of the larger igbo population in the north. |
wellheads:ok, you that has the brain of Eistein I want you to wrap up your head around this. Will you kill a man that wants to kill you if during the struggle you had an opportunity to kill him as well? What you don't understand is the tactics that is being employed here by these riff-raffs in the north. The whole thing is targeted at southern tribes with Igbos being the worse hit and with the tacit connivance of some of thier leaders and people. Why should be the violence be repeatedly one-sided even though the perpetrators know that there could be reprisals if they continue. The government is unserious, clueless and irresponsible to do anything decisive to stop the one-sided unwanton killings. Are you saying if you had lost your whole family in the blast you won't be mad? It is obvious that Aba and Onitsha might likely errupt soon what are the security agencies doing to forestall any of such happening. There is even a strong possiblity that these idiots might strike again during the new yr celebrations, wetin dem do about it?? All we hear is a stewpid sermon that does nothing to curb the violence. If this will lead to war, fine, when we get to that bridge we go cross am, dont let us look like weaklings that can't defend ourselves. The Bokoharam boys, hausa/fulani killers and their likes are human beings, they are not the only ones that aint afraid of death. It is high time we balanced the killings. |
Ovamboland:You such an a$$hole that lacks the ability to make logical argument. These men you mentioned were never members of any association or group that promotes the cause of another race that is not theirs. There is a big difference between being sympathetic to a cause even if you are not a member of such a group and joining wholeheartedly a group that makes you look like a confused misfit. Was Abraham Lincoln a member of any of the black people movements that were canvanssing for civil rights for black people-the black panthers, black nationalist group and so on, it is like saying a pure bred caucasian can be a member of NAACP or that a negro can be a member of the KKK, dont you see how stewpid and illogical you sound. Just because I identify with widows does not mean I can be a member of their association, do you have brains at all? If you have got nothing intelligent to post just shut it, I aint got time for very silly unintelligent borrowed points from a lameduck making attempts to sound smart. |
That is what you get when you have an irresponsible government that is not brave enough to find solution. Like I said before, "if there can't be equal disarmament then there should be balanced terror". Soon una go soon hear Aba and Onitsha own, nobody likes injustice and no one group has a monopoly of dishing out violence. Apparently, this is the only way to send across a very strong message to the government and supporters of BokoHaram. |
13 year old Nancy Maduka is alive today because she refused to go to church on Christmas day. She pleaded with her parents to allow her skip church to enable her fix her hair. When it became evident that she was not ready to go with them, her mother, in annoyance, left her with some money and directed her to put finishing touches to all the food items bought for the Christmas celebration. Her mother Jennifer Maduka, her father Francis Maduka, and two older sisters left for church. A few hours later, they were all killed in a bomb blast at St Theresa Catholic church, Suleja. Continue reading, It never occurred to any of the members of the family that their encounter that morning would be their last. No premonition that death was lurking around, not even during the mass. Not even the directive by the Parish Priest, Reverend Father Isaac Achi, that all parishioners should wait and part-take in a Christmas gift from “Baby Jesus” after the mass was strong enough to stop the family from leaving. Far away from the church, Nancy was set to have her hair-do when a loud sound rented the air. Like a wild harmattan fire, the news of the bomb blast at St. Theresa Catholic Church went round the entire Madalla. Suddenly, Nancy remembered that her parents and sisters were in the church. Like the speed of the light, Nancy dashed to the church and within a twinkle of an eye, her life changed; she became an orphan, because her parents and two sisters were roasted in their car by the explosion that ensued from the bomb blast. Nancy said: “I was not with them this morning, I had to go and do my hair this morning because I was in church throughout yesterday, preparing for the Christmas. So, I was unable to make it to the mass, despite the pressure mounted by my father to dress up and go for the early morning mass. “At about 7:30a.m., I went to do my hair and where I went to do my hair, I heard some people talking about a bomb blast at St. Theresa, so I went to check because my parents and sisters went for the mass this morning. As I was about entering the church and was making enquiry, I saw somebody lying on the ground dead. I know my dad’s car; everybody in the car was dead. The first person I identified was one of my sisters; she was dried up by the fire from the explosion. I saw my parents in the front seat, and they were all burnt in the car. I lost all, my parents, my sisters. I lost all. I was crying, because I can see a bleak future ahead of me. Where do I go from where I am? I was not only confused; I initially felt all hope was lost. The only thing I recalled was that some people came and dragged me away from my father’s burnt car,” Nancy stated Now living with the parish sisters, Nancy was a pity sight on Sunday. She looked ahead to a bleak future, but still has hope. “I don’t know why this happens, but since this is the way the good Lord wants it, let it be. All I know is that all hope is not lost. I strongly believe this is not the end of the world for me. I know God has a plan for me to have speared my life,” she said

londoner:exactly my point jare my sister. Osisikankwu only terrorized his own people and was finally dealth with by thesame people who revealed his hideout to the police. I almost cried when I watched the surviving victims of the madalla church bombing lamenting their loss. One Igbo woman lost all of her childrien, a whole family in a car wasted(that should be the obiukwu's, one little girl was the only survivor of her family and so on like that. I keep asking, why does it always have to be a catholic church(knowing fully well that 90% of Igbos are catholics), an Igbo populated market-and the bomb gets to be thrown into asn Igbo man's shop- it always has to be a group of Igbo people or community of Igbo people all the time in different northern state locations and people want to argue that these attacks are random. Igbos are prolly paying the price for their overwhelming support for GEJ during the elections. Unfortunately, GEJ is a slowpoke that can't be decisive, he is so non-chalant and casual about this whole thing, the eeediot knows nothing about being a leader, even his body language is just annoying, imagine the fool smiling some days after the bombing on hearing the supreme court judgement that was in his favour. I wont be surprised if Igbos in Aba and Onitsha start unleashing terror on their kiths and kins in the east, the temptation is becoming very potent and likely. |
