Nigeria is far from the highest indebted countries of the world. It is actually one of the lowest. Wike is not one of the most intelligent or well informed politicians in Nigeria, so when he says rubbish, you should do your research and call him out
The most indebted countries in the world now are the most advanced, finest and best organized countries. Do your research and prove me wrong if you can. If you find out the truth, then ask yourselves why that is so. |

DubaiLandLord2: Wetin concern Yardua amnesty program for MEND with Boko Haram, IPOB and Bandits?
So OBJ was not using overwhelming force against MEND?
GMB have not been using overwhelming force against ISWAP and Boko Haram too abi?
There was a time, if IPOB members dey organise a peaceful protest, Nigerian army go don show up immediately and start shooting straight at them.
In fact, IPOB members that were organising a peaceful meeting in a school, soldiers and Policemen went to the school and start shooting them dead. A foreign media house tried to show GMB the video of security personnel shooting dead armless and peaceful IPOB members, he refused to watch the video.
What kind of overwhelming force should dey have used back then?
During OBJ, almost all the necessary weapons you can think of were used in engaging MEND. We saw one of the result of the brute force in Odi, the incident in Odi didn't stop militants from attacking security personnel, it just embolden them the more.
If a full blown war start in the Niger Delta, the economy of Nigeria will totally collapse, there is no way the military will stop MEND from unleashing hell on the pipelines.
Thank God Yardua was a smart man.
GMB was thinking like you and decided to stop paying the militant... Who begged him to start paying again? He saw Operation Crocodile was not effective in stopping Avengers from bombing the pipeline.
See, facts dey ground... No argument for all this talk.
GMB didn't handle the IPOB issue well at all just the way he failed to address the issue of Fulani heardsmen. The man is incompetent. OK then, enjoy what your country has become. Just remember to parcel about N1tr as amnesty for bandits every year. A number of them should be made billionaires and get contracts guarding the forests their operating from. The worst of the kidnappers should be turbanned. All this because they were "armed by politicians during elections and the guns were not collected from the hungry and jobless boys after elections"... or whatever other nonsense your country has accepted as a valid argument for crimes against the state in the early 2000s. |

DubaiLandLord2: I think I can now pinpoint the group who killed Dora Akuyili husband, driver and the policeman with him.
We can still settle this IPOB and UGM wahala before it totally gets out of hand.
GMB is not fit to be the president of Nigeria, I will blame him for what is happening in the South East too. He didn't handle the issue well at all.
Thank God he was not the one elected as the president ahead of Yardua, there would have been a full blown war in the Niger Delta right now if he won the 2007 presidential election. See the way Yardua made the Niger Delta peaceful. Buhari almost ruined the peace immediately he became the president in 2015, stopping amnesty and started a useless operation crocodile(an operation that could not stop Avengers from bombing oil pipeline)m İ rather think Yaradua was weak and doubly owned by OBJ and Ibori. He made too many concessions to the Niger Delta and weakened the Nigerian state. Things that should never ever have been permitted happened and became the new normal. This brutal truth I am telling you should have been told with overwhelming force at the Niger Delta. Now the entire country is a pisspot of kidnapping, bunkering, banditry and yes we are going to give some bandits amnesty. It is a shame and a mess. |

There was No massacre at Lekki toll gate. Probably 3 or 4 people were shot by still undetermined people military or hired civillians.
Thousands of people passed by the place immediately after the incident and nobody without a lying spirit would say a blood bath happened there.
You are a corrupt country of mostly lying young people and apathetic old people who have been fed on victim mentality and falsehood.
Why are lies so easy for you? Why did you hope that hundreds of people have died?. I think it is because you wanted to wield the blood as a weapon against your own government. Just wait and see God's judgement. Nobody fools him. |

ugo4u: We should allow dullards take charge of the country then. Well you're a typical example of what you said in your opening paragraph. You obviously don't know the meaning of the word "intellectual". A proven professional is not an intellectual. A business man is not. A general is not. An engineer is not. Intellectuals live to pursue knowledge and share universal truths in an abstract way without concern for immediate practicality. It is a lofty calling but not meant for leading people and achieving results. |

QuietMynd: If we re to be truthfully to ourself, those that defund the military can't be blamed. The nigerian army like overstepping their boundaries to much. They like interfering in civil matters. Nigerian brains were made elsewhere tbh. All well funded, well equipped militaries rarely abuse civillians or attempt at seizing power. 100% the case. Please do your research. If military is overthrowing civillian power, it is a banana republic and probably that country has 10 MBTs, 100 technicals and 5 Mig21 jets. When a military is fully resourced with professionals and fully equipped, they rarely show interest in politics. And yes it is true, before the 3rd Republic and immediately after Abacha and the advent of the 4th Republic, ignorant people with intellectual pretensions would go on national TV and talk about comprehensive demobilization of the military. The prominent one I remember now is Falana but even the technocratic, ex World Bank set were also mouthing the nonsense. Demobilization of the Army to reduce numbers was also seen as the only way to raise finance for equipment. Now with insurgency and terrorism, all that nonsense is dead. A rider to all these is that you should never allow intellectuals in government. They are too irresponsible and cannot see reality. |

Let MI35Ms or UCAVs ride shotgun for military convoys. The flights should then morph into normal daily ISR flights.
Progressively create a traffic light type of classification of safe corridors based on info from patrols, spotters, ISR flights and analytical risk assessments. Only red and amber areas should take maximum attention. That way you don't dissipate resources patrolling safe zones at the detriment of hazardous zones that insurgents are just moving to.
There should also be dedicated quick response aircraft to hunt and kill members of ISWAP ambush parties immediately after an event. |

The senior Air Force official said the M346FA will replace our Alpha Jets & L-39ZA some of which are over 40 years old.
This means NAF would still get approval in the near future for more JF-17 fighter jets. The 2021 defence budget (not 2021 supplementary budget) contained appropriation for continuing procurement of JF17 Block 2. There was money for 1 aircraft + systems. |
