Some of you guys are incapable of thinking.
The NA is increasingly being called into internal security duties because you are a rich beautiful country of corrupt, idiotic and selfish people who cannot engage in politics, sharing of power and business without cheating yourselves.
You also have no love for yourselves and you have a crappy police.
Your police is crap because your all crooks.

Look at you casting aspersions on the Army as if people join the NA to whip people or kill civillians.
If you actually think the above is true, please check yourself into an asylum.

Dastardly armed robberies, inter communuals wars, bank robberies by and other violent crimes was why all states now have NA involved in internal security duties.
Better show some gratitude and respect.
Without them, you guys are so depraved, you will be snatching babies and pounding them... oh sorry, you are actually doing that now.

I think we should seek ammendment to the Army Act and remove IS duties from what the President can call the Army out for.

GabrielYulaw:
Hi all! Here are my thoughts. But first, where's Bidexii?
Me and him no agree on much, but this na his thread. Did the guy mount a 122mm rocket that was fired to the heavens? grin grin grin Or is he on a hush-hush commando mission? Would love to know.

On a serious note, I'm afraid that regardless of what the EndSars panel said, nothing will change within the NA. No one will be punished, no real reforms will be implemented. And something like this will keep happening again and again.

The NA is dysfunctional for a purpose and making it a fully disciplined and professional fighting force is not something I see happening soon. It's more like a collection of rogues than an army. But I'm really happy to know there are shining lights here and there that are not like the typical Nigerian soldiers/commanders.

You know, we are Nigeria. We suppose be the giant of Africa. When we cough, neighboring countries suppose p1ss themselves in fear. When we blink they suppose cry for their mama.

And what do we have now? Chadian and Cameroonian troops can saunter into our country anytime they want, kill our countrymen and say they were suspected Boko Haram fighters. Governments like Ghana can go on national tv and insult us. Ivorian authorities can confidently frame up a girl for a crime she no commit and get her killed in jail.

We are so massively disrespected on this continent. We are the butt of jokes and it's not even funny. There's only one way we can change this and that's to start living up to our potential.

It will involve modernizing our security agencies, our economy, our way of life and everything else. But is that going to happen? Not at all because the way Nigeria is set up right now is super profitable to the elites. There will be no change. And we will keep being treated like scum across much of Africa.

And there's another thing. EndSars and the Lekki massacre was special. I'm not sure some of you noticed, but there was a very massive and skilled disinformation campaign just after the Lekki massacre.

I have never seen something as skilled happening in this country and I don't think this disinformation campaign was run by Nigerians. And the goal was a simple one- to make us doubt what we saw that night and to provide ammunition for doubters like that Askia guy to come here and say the whole thing was a hoarse.

Who was behind this wide scale deception? Who paid for it? It's important we find out and fast because I fear something like this will be repeated again, perhaps during the 2023 election.

Some of you come here and see me wailing always, criticizing and gnashing my teeth and think I'm just a chronic complainer. That's not true. I love my country. It's beautiful and magnificent.

We can easily rule Africa and we have the brains and resources to make that happen. And it just tears me apart to see the depths we keep sinking to as a people and as a country.

Talk true, is Nigeria a fit place to live and raise children? For me the answer is no and I will keep doing my best to change this and make this a country we all can be proud of.

My apologies for the long epistle.

Justice is all Nigerians are asking for and justice they must get else we wont make any progress as a nation. In this same Endsars protest we saw videos of middle level officers particularly Majors in the army disarm and de-escalate angry mobs w/o firing a single gunshot infact the Major that was in charge of the NYSC camp in kogi literally stopped his soldiers from firing into the crowd that wanted to loot the stuffs made for corpers he appealed to the mob and made them see reasons why they shouldn't steal what belongs to their brothers/sisters that came for service, similar scenario occurred in Osun state were we saw another army Major engage an irate mob and within 10min he deescalated an already tensed atmosphere also not forgetting the Senior NAF officer captured on camera warning police officers to stop firing at the mob so he could engage them. These is to tell you that the military have alot of good men that know the sanctity of human lives and the huge responsibility that comes with wearing the uniform, what makes you a good soldier is the ability to carryout your objectiuve with as minimal casualties as possible infact if you can disarm your enemy w/o firing a shot the better. To those set of officers we will always praise and commend them but you see those bad eggs that perpetrate criminalities we must call them out it doesn't mean we aren't patriotic we all want a sane society not a banana republic were anybody can misbehave because he or she have access to a rifle, virtually everyone can pull a trigger people at the helm of affairs should try as much as possible not to push the citizens to the wall because when all hell breaks lose simultaneously all over the country the result will be worst than a zombie apocalypse.
Yes. I personally must apologize to EndSARS heroes. I and many other people never knew the police washed down the scene of the protests and wiped down the scene of the crimes as it were.
We must also apologize to DJ Switch for all her suffering.

However, if another EndSARS were to repeat itself in this country, you may be shocked that society has finite patience. A word is enough for the wise.

oh Yes we do. HESCO is part of the solution to build better FOBs.
Trenching machines, military bulldozers, prefab concrete barriers. These three are to be provided by Army engineering Corps.

A few UGVs and 20mm gun emplacements activated remotely.

HESCO barrier is about $500 for 15ft if you add cost of sand and equipment hired to handle sand.

Using bulldozers to heap up sand into high dunes and digging trenches using army engineers equipment achieves better at a fraction of cost.

It's very clear our military needs help but some idiotic self deluding fellows keep decieving themselves. They think calling for assistance means calling the Military useless, even the US with all its resources would hardly go into any war w/o alliance(s) talkmore of Nigeria that is still struggling to consistently spend $1bn yearly solely for procurements/upgrades. Is it not 2 weeks ago COAS was complaining bitterly about the slashing of army's budget yet we shouldn't seek for help anywhere we could. Even soldiers on ground will tell you they will welcome the idea of getting reinforcement from regional blocs even if it means them holding the fort along border towns.
As for the ewures shouting that we only amplify bad news, so we should keep quiet when soldiers die because they're not human beings with families. In the US death or casualties of soldiers can bring a gov't down but in Nigeria we should hush it all up and amplify BHT casualties as if the lives of those renegades equates to that of soldiers.
Well!!! The cycle continues..
Nigerian military only needs money.
The money required does not even break the bank.
The resources in terms of men required, Nigeria has it in orders of magnitudes more than many African countries combined.

Most people calling for outside help in Nigeria come from "trading" backgrounds. Well, sorry war is not okirika market stuff. If your brain can't process higher stuff then no need for comments.

Let me shove the map of Africa in your face and ask you to choose where the "men" to fight will come from.
Ethiopia is being destroyed as we speak

Southern African countries are bogged down in Mozambique and great Lakes issues.

Chadian Army is less than 30,000 men.

Niger Republic Army is so small, it should be illegal - less than 12,000 men

Cameroon Army is also very small.

All other West African countries are fighting radical Islamic terrorists.

Nigeria has demonstrated the capacity to train 8000 men in six months.

Nigeria will fix its security issues. You guys should face your second hand clothes business.

Barbed wires in Metele, Borno led to the death of numerous of our troops. A truck go stuck in the barbed wire and blocked the passage of troops and vehicles leading to the death of good men.
We need Hesco bags not pure barbed wires.

It's high time we rally support from ECOMOG and AU or even the UN to come assist us with both men and equipment; if we can rally about 10,000 contingents of these regional forces to take on these terrorists head-on it will go a very long way in this war. It's getting obvious that the military is overwhelmed/overstretched coupled with the fact that they're heavily underfunded especially the Nigerian Army. We should tuck in this big brother abi na giant of Africa mantra in our pockets and seek for assistance anyway and anywhere we could this war has already lingered for too long we can't build a nation in a perpetual state of internal-war.
This is an absolutely bad idea. Pls in every field that has an established profession with processes and standards, always keep SHUT with the layman common sense stuff that people have thought about and dismissed or tried and failed.
Besides there is already MNJTF in place.

AU nations are lacking in the basics of military resources to provide assistance to Nigeria.

It is going to be so expensive as to potentially swallow the entire defense budget.

Pls calculate it yourself; salary and allowances and aircraft cost to provide rotation for just 10,000 troops from ten African countries.
It is the height of Nigerian stupidity. Very bad idea informed by social media escalation of a few developments on the battlefield.

What Nigeria needs is more CJTF, more training for CJTF and more creative defending of towns unsing CJTF as the military are about to start their offensives.

For Nigerian observers of the war on social media, when you read about a new development, quickly look at a map of the theatre and get more info to understand what the big picture is.
Do some thinking about what ISWAP and Nigeria are trying to achieve

In the flatlands that the northeast is, elevation isn't much of an advantage when you can see kilometers away while on level ground. Both sides will see each other several minutes before they can engage each other. Except of course the highlands near the mandara mountains.
Also, as long as you have a clear line of sight and your aim is true, you will hit your targets conveniently.

If most attacks come from lake Chad region....
Why can't the military gather a reasonable number of men and ammunition and try to set up a barricade between lake Chad region and the rest of town/Nigeria. And probably set up offensive from there.

I don't want to even ask why the military don't want to start and sustain an onslaught against these guys. Why must we always wait for them to come and attack and run away. Abi iswap dey sleep for air.

As big as northern Iraq is, Iraqis military and civilian forces moved house to house routing out Isis till they left Iraq.

Igboho was actively canvassing for the dissolution of Nigeria. He threatened on video to kill anybody participating in the democratic process. He threatened to depose Obas. His so-called efforts to protect Yorubas from criminals from outside the country and Fulani militia is nothing new. Almost every state in Nigeria has vigilante outfits that work with Police and receive support from them. Youths in Borno State are doing ten times more than Igboho ever did in combating Boko Haram via their CJTF. So you must work under established structures to be a vigilante.

In summary, we should desist from lies even if they are sweet. Igboho and Kanu on tape, on video and in actions committed crimes.
The law must take its course.
