basilol01: This is a pure statement of fact, most people in Enugu state are ignorant illiterates. Even when the govt is trying to save lives they prefer to be adamant. This is why the state is the most backward state today in SE and SS.. Even mxrep can confirm this. Backward state ke... I have noticed the discrepancy in their salaries a lot of times... Then I used to think mayb it's coz of the state you are in, probably the rate of crime/risk been faced by the officers. Never knew it was due to kwaruption. Also allowances are not always paid completely. |

Mickey02: something happened in my parish that kept me thinking and wondering as well. During 1st Friday adoration, after station of the cross and the Holy mass, I saw the Catechist bringing the Blessed Sacrament (Monstrance) from the adoration chapel to the sanctuary. And i wondered why would the priest let or asked the Catechist to bring the Blessed Sacrament, I thought is a function to be done by the priest alone or bishop but i'm surprised that the Catechist, not even a Deacon or seminarian, just did it. As my fellow catholic, i don't know if this is right or sorry. pls solve the puzzle and confusion running through my mind? The bishop of a diocese can decide to give the authority for such to take place. Just same way you find Eucharistic minister in some diocese. So it all boils down to the bishop. |

prettysassygirl: op are u sure u are a graduate?? your use of words doesn't depict u as a graduate. its a pity the kind of Nigeria we are in,our educational standards are too poor, i can remember one graduate my mother employed in her school that doesn't even know how to recite multiplication table 2. Babe.. everything is not all about English. Been able to speak or write fluently does not fully depicts one's intelligence. Also, try to consider the OPs State of mind, he could be down emotionally there by affecting his writing. That part of a graduate not been able to recite multiplication table, is that not a cramed thing. Just give advice if you have any. |

This is the true spirit of Nigerians... No one talked about tribe or religion. I once experienced an accident scene along Kad-Abj expressway. A fully loaded bus lost traction and headed right into the bus. Bus landed upside down... Within seconds, almost all the cars plying the road at that moment stopped to render help to the victims. Everyone showed the love of brotherhood irrespective of the tribe or religion of the victims. But sadly, our political leaders always tribe to separate us along religion and tribal lines. |

Was in first year... On exam day, Maths 101. Exam was slated for 9am, we came all seated and waiting for paper, then news came that it have been shifted to 2pm that we should vacate the class for 3yr to write theirs. So we left.... I and a friend decided to go to our second campus to see a friend. (Those you that knows campus 3 and agbani in Enugu)
On reaching agbani, we just came down from the bus wen calls started coming into our phones that lecturers are around and about sharing the paper. O boy, na so panick set in. We started running Helter skelter, looking for means to go back to campus 3. Finally one okada man agreed to take us at an exorbitant price after much pleading. We boarded the bike and the man speed off. It seems as if that was the longest journey I have ever embarked on and thank God we didn't crash along the way. Well we got to the exam Hall 25 mins to time up and it took the intervention of a lecturer friend before we were allowed to enter.
Luckily, the paper was objective and to God be the glory, I passed with a C grade. |
