Politics / Re: Senate Says It Is Ready To Amend Nigerian Constitution To Okay State Police by RichDaniels: 8:30am On Feb 19

My point is that we should rather stick to one tyrant than having 36 more mini tyrants.

But I agree that due to insecurity, state police has now become an existential necessity. But the law setting it up should try enough to foreclose every loophole that the governors might exploit to turn the police under their commands to their hit men against opposition figures.

You should understand what I’m talking about considering who Nigerian politicians are.

Those measures are already in place, but the same federal govt you're calling on to limit the states policing powers are the main abusers and frustrators of that measure. The judiciary in every sane society is to act on that regard, in Nigeria today, the federal govt is the chief abuser of the judiciary.

WRITER'S NEEDED FOR FICTION AND NON-FICTION WORKS

A publishing house seems the employment of fiction and nonfiction writers. Fiction writers should have an erotica background while non fiction should have a finance background.

Pay is #1per word but would eventually increase. We aren't seeking a professional writer, just someone, willing to build a career, learn and grow.

As much as this idea sounds great due to insecurity, it will just make governors mini tyrants.

I hope they put enough checks mechanism in the law that would set it up to mitigate abuse.

APC governors will just be using state police to rig elections.

In fact, I suspect the reason they are pushing for State Police is to have enough touts that would help execute 2027 elections seeing that nobody in his right senses would vote for them except their brainless supporters.

In as much as I agree with you, there's still no basis of logic that your argument makes as to why state police ain't needed. To start with, today the federal police is being used by the federal govt and states to abuse citizens, was it not Wike under Buhari era that took over 100 police officers to reign war on Oyinbo and neighbouring communities it serves, it took the courts to save the people of rivers from the issue. One thing that is certain is that the police, which it's primary duty is to protect lives and properties, has failed woefully in such. In fact, most communities are in dissary because of this vacuum.

Hehe.Bros, Agencies and parastatals must be backed by an Act. Even universities are not exempt.

I don't like arguing with ignorant people, WhatsApp worse is an ignorant person who doesn't learn and is adamant to be right. Agencies and parastatals do not require legislation, even wikipedia knows this.

Politics / Re: Senate Passes Sen Ashiru's Bill To Establish National Road Transport Council by RichDaniels: 10:52pm On Jan 30
U09ce:
This bill is long awaited. How logical is it that the most patronised transport sector(road ) is largely unregulated! The aviation industry has NCAA, maritime has NIMASA and NIWA but road transport has nothing. Commercial road transporters should be certified before they are allowed to haul passengers and goods. Tonnage of trailers and tankers should be regulated.

This is how they've deceived you to thinking nonsense. You do not need an Act or a Bill to create an agency or parastatal of the government, insofar as their budget would be managed by another department. We have the ministry of transportation, what do they do? Can't they create an agency under him to achieve this purpose?
Crime / Re: List Of Prisons In Nigeria: Facts And Locations by RichDaniels: 8:55am On Jan 30
blueghost:
Over 98% of the people reading this subject haven’t been to prison before. The first thing that comes to an ordinary crime-free Nigerian is a mental picture of a room with Iron bar doors. Well in Nigeria, there are different types of prison. The class of people with the Jurisdiction to know about all prison types is Lawyers, judges and Police officers. A prison is designed for individuals that have broken the law.

Nice attempt, but to correct you, a child under the age of 7 cannot be arrested for a crime and under the age of 12 cannot be arrested for a sexual crime. For instance, if a child under 7, let's say 5 years old commits murder, he would be discharged and acquitted. Also, if a child who is 10 years old suddenly gets fast puberty and raped a woman, he would be discharged and acquitted. Check your criminal and penal codes.

In addition, there are no psychiatric prisons in Nigeria, an insane person that commits a crime is sent to the normal psychiatric hospitals, eg Yaba Left and others. It's technically not a prison but a recovery center. An insane person who commits a crime cannot be sent to prison, the court would sentence him to a psychiatrist pending when the psychiatrist can state that he or she is good to go

Who manages the prisons in our country?
Let’s start off with the people that manage the Prisons in Nigeria. They are the NCS, an acronym for “Nigerian Correctional Services”. They are the only body that has legal rights to operate all prisons in the country.

The Nigerian prison service has its National office located in Abuja. It would be important to also note that they don’t work alone. They work in partnership with the Ministry of Internal Affairs. NCS has offices across all 36 states of Nigeria. The prison Services has improved vastly since the British Empire left the Nigerian shores.

Their responsibilities include the following:
They ensure that all the different types of Prisons as operated as the law states.
They make sure that prisons are more secure, and that the prison staffs are doing their job effectively.
They also see to it that inmates are well escorted from prison to court and from court to prison.
Finally, they collect data and analyze data.
With over 250 million people in this country, I guess we need a lot of prisons right? Most of Nigerian prisons can carry up to 75000 people. In Nigeria, there are more males in custody than women.

What are the Types of Prisons in Nigeria?
Some criminals are dangerous, whilst others aren’t. Differences in offender personality can warrant that a person’s on custody stay indifferent prison types. Some differences could be gender-associated, age-related or maybe mental health.

The following are the different types of prisons we have in Nigeria.
Female only prisons
Security prisons
Military Prisons
Juveniles / Minor correctional Facilities
Psychiatric prisons.
Female only prisons
Nigeria has two female-only prisons. When women in the country break the law, they are sent there. The names of these two prisons are Kirikiri and Numan old prison respectively. They are located in Lagos state and Adamawa state respectively. A lady that has turned 18 years of age can be sent to either of the correctional facilities. Women in custody stay there for months, even years awaiting their trial by the court. Nigeria had only one female prison in Kirikiri up until 2017. In the year 2017, the Federal Government established its second female prison in Adamawa state. This is the aforementioned prison known as the Numan Old prison. It has a capacity of 400 inmates.
Security prisons
Security prisons in Nigeria have three main subcategories. They include minimum security, the medium-security, and the maximum-security prisons. The minimum security prisons are meant for defaulters of crimes that are not that serious. Some of these crimes include; Fraud, domestic violence and theft. The second subcategory of security prisons houses criminals. This is because they need to be locked away from society so that they can’t cause more damage. An example of the medium-security prison is the Kuje prison.
Now, the grand finale, the Maximum security prisons! This is the humble abode of all the Very dangerous people in Nigeria, I’m talking about people that have killed people, indulged in hyper-violent acts, etc. they are locked away in complete isolation from everyone. An example of a maximum-security prison in Nigeria is the Gashua Maximum Prison.

Military prison
Is a force man? Have you served in the Nigerian army, or committed Military crimes? Then, you would serve jail time in a military prison. Currently, the state of the Nigerian military prisons is nothing to write home about. So, if you are a uniform man or woman, try not to break the hedge of the law.

Juveniles/Minor correctional facilities
A juvenile in law jargon is a person below the age of criminal prosecution, which is 18 years. Nigeria has Juvenile prisons for under-aged individuals that break the law and disturb society. These places serve as correctional facilities for juvenile detainees. Amongst the 90,000 prisoners in Nigeria, there are only 2% juveniles in Prison. Juveniles are not allowed to go to the same prison that adults go to. They are always sent to a correctional facility. So if you are a small boy and think you can carry a gun and get away with it, I hope this article acts as an eye-opener. Nobody is above the law, not even 3-year-olds.

Psychiatric Prisons
An individual with mental instability that breaks the law, is always sent to psychiatric prisons. They are also given Mental health care in these psychiatric prisons. There is a major development by the federal government about this.

Now let’s take a good look at the complete list of all the prisons in Nigeria

If you believe this to be true, then you have a brain problem. Common think for once. Firstly, this cannot happen, monarchs are respected by their community people and are most often, especially in the east, bought with money. Excluding Onitsha and some other known communities, the monarch is usually the highest bidder to the king makers and is most often very wealthy. For instance, in my community, Arochukwu, the monarchy revolves around three families, the highest bidder from the three families takes it.

Also, even if that's not the case here, who hustles as a king in his full regalia, it's like saying a lawyer is hustling as an okada rider with his wig and gown to show people he is a lawyer, the king literally wore his crown 😂, if this were true, the king would have simply worn a simple clothing noted for hustling. It's obvious that this was intended to be a viral skit or acted or at best, just not making sense. Use your brain!

Julius Berger has a standard and consistently maintains it. The company does not accept "wayo" contracts. You can't embezzle billions of Naira for road construction and tell JB to do a cheap construction job for you. That's why many governors avoid JB and use other companies to build roads that fade away within their tenures.

JB uses high quality construction to protect its name. Go and see Akwa Ibom roads built by JB. I heard JB builds a free solid-and-ultramodern house as an appreciation for anybody that gives JB a reasonable contract in his or her state.

Stop talking nonsense when you do not know what's going on. The only road being constructed by JB in Abia is Port-Harcourt road. This is main Park being constructed by Noah constructors, a local construction company in Aba. That's how you'd sell off the small company's good work to JB because of your ignorance.

Hormone issues. While transitioning, you'll take hormones to achieve masculine or feminine effects.
Cancer. Trans people are at a higher risk of developing some cancers that are tied to hormone use
Mental health issues
Sexually transmitted infections
Heart disease
The list is long.. I will wait to see updates from him once he's old.

As a qualified medical practitioner who doesn't always type online, all I can say to the general public and the author of this is that YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY WRONG! Please, do your research before misleading others. Hormones are perfectly safe when issued by a doctor. Just like every other drug, even Panadol. There's no risk of heart disease or reduced health and others. In addition, the likelihood of hormone drugs to cause cancer is as low as 1 in every 1billion chances, that means if 1 billion trans use hormones, only one can get cancer, this shows how low risk it is.

Grow up, boy. You feel too entitled and this ugly attitude can make you jobless for a long time. I am certain you are unemployed and jobless that's why you're having a constant headache on my job post. Employers don't owe you a dime. If you're not okay with their offer, simply walk away... and, hey, without spoiling your employer's good name because he hasn't done you any bad. And if you have already taken a job and feel you're underpaid but your employer refuses to oblige, simply resign and leave. Pay a visit to your office in the following days and see your position gallantly filled. Unfortunately for you, the position I advertised some weeks ago, which is currently giving you headache and HBP, has been filled and the job was completed. You can do yourself a favor by not commenting on my posts again in your miserable life.

It's funny how childish you speak and to your small brain it's making sense. You don't even know me and you've assumed that I am unemployed. 😂 For you to be paying people at #2.5/word, I'm so sure I can feed and employ you. But I wouldn't reduce myself to engaging in childish rants like you and would only address the facts. To start with, I never insulted you, rather you insulted me. I only laid the truth, which you know but somehow try to fight it. Your problem isn't me, your problem is you know I spoke the truth and it pains you. You're complaining of getting good writers but you'd be paying peanuts for a highly technical work. Tomorrow you'd come over to Nairaland and be complaining like a child, "Nairaland writers are this! Nairaland writers are that! Ye, ye, ye", 🤣 just dey play. You go soon explain tire!

Unfortunately, the job I advertised is not for a porn star... so I can't hire or pay you. And next time if a hirer mentions an amount that is not okay with you, simply face front.

I agree you can't pay me, because you cannot afford me. How do you guys even think, where do you keep your small brains? Writing is a tasking job, the field you even want written requires strong research and you somehow think a good writer would accept your offer. I've told you, with love, you better write that stuff yourself.

I'm sure if you go further, warnings must have started before 2021, but Nigerians (particularly those people) like to prove stubborn.

If you don't know, get it now: the time of 'anyhow' 'anyhow' life in Lagos (and the South West) is gradually coming to an end.

If you don't like the way we decide to do things in the South West, simply take the next EXIT and go back to you region!

Goan build your "mansions" there.

God continue to bless YORUBALAND!

God bless Nigeria.

You'd just be talking trash and be thinking you're making sense. I hope you know some Yoruba people's homes were destroyed also. Your myopic mind and hate for a certain tribe has led you to sell your kinsmen. On national television, the spokesperson to the demolished buildings was Mr. Akinola Saheed (Igbo right?) Be deceiving yourself.

So, I advertised for a porn star, so what? Where you intending to use that to make me feel sad, 😂😆, your mumuness is making me laugh😂. Me hiring porn actors for a project doesn't change the fact that you deserve AI writers for a 2.5 Naira/word project and you're complaining. If you can pay, slide into my dm and let me show you the difference between a #2.5 writer and a professional writer.

Hello NLs,

I need a high-quality rewriter to rewrite a book on puberty for boys. The book currently failed originality.ai check, as the writer used chatgpt, quillbot, or other AI writing tools.

Your job is to rewrite the book and give it a complete human touch so it can pass originality.AI check.

While Ai check pass is important to us, good use of the English language is also important.

Please note that the use of chatgpt, quillbot, etc. for rewriting is NOT allowed.

You should be able to deliver each content quickly and perfectly.

AGAIN, Good use of the English language (grammar, spelling, punctuation, flow, syntax, etc.) is essential.

Preferably, you should have access to Grammarly premium to check your work before submission.

If this is what you can do, contact me on Whatsapp, 081... 67..80 44..01

Regards,
Jozzee

P.S
Budget is N2.5/word
Payment will be made after each chapter.
The content is already plagiarism-free but detected as bot-created, so this isn't just about plagiarism.
There is an opportunity for a long term work, if everything goes well.

No wonder the writer used AI to write the content. You want a rewrite on a highly scientific and technical matter as puberty and you want to pay #2.5/word. First of all, who still pays #2.5/word? Not to talk of a rewrite for that price.

My advice to you is that you edit the stuff yourself because you'd get fu**ked up works continuously with that budget. Best of luck.

Politics / Re: Biggest Economies In Nigeria, GDP Of States by RichDaniels: 9:18am On Nov 16, 2023
Workch:
Well, what's really in Enugu that will drive the GDP of Enugu?
Enugu is not really as industrialized as Abia, Imo and Anambra.

GDP is a factor of what you produce, what has Enugu state been producing in the past 9 years?

It's not like Enugu does agriculture again like before.

If I am to agree with you that GDP is a factor of what you produce, then I would still have to fault the list. I do not see any difference between the economy of Cross River, Osun, and Benue with Enugu. These states all depend on tourism and/or agriculture to boost their economies. I can also state for a fact that Enugu pours in more money than Ebonyi state (this is a fact). For Ebonyi to be rated above Enugu, it's similar to rating Osun above Oyo, people in the southwest would ask, how you came up with such ridiculous statistics.

Also, Enugu has indeed traded, the state trades in: mining (top five mining destination in Nigeria), agriculture, tourism, entertainment ( city with the second biggest movie and music video shots and companies after Lagos) and housing (Enugu has one of the strongest housing sectors in the country, even stronger than Abia, Anambra and Ebonyi. Infact, I can state for certain that enugu's housing sector makes it to top 10 in the country). So, I don't understand. The truth is that we know, deep down we do, we know that Enugu should be in the higher list and not bottom.

Nigerian judicial system and bastardization of the rule of law go hand in hand.

No law court can impede lawmakers from carrying out their constitutional duties.

You're wrong. Learn the law and stop talking nonsense. The legislature carries out their functions through laid down procedures by the constitution. If the governor notices that the legislature has fallen short of that procedure, the governor can seek redress for the courts to halt the impeachment and determine whether the shortfall is contrary to the constitution.

And I wonder how Bakasi and other non-igbo speaking region of the Southern Nigeria became a Biafra merged state?

If these regions supported Biafra way back, that doesn't mean that the support will still stand.

You see how myopic you've become. You refused to read and you've started talking trash! Biafra isn't and wasn't an idea of the Igbo people alone, it was a combination of groups. There are currently over five Biafra struggle militants.

No Igbo person is currently part of BNL. You also can't remember that Bakassi was a part of Biafra before it was given to Cameroon. So, it's understandable that they would be fighting for Biafra.

If the roads in your useless states are better, you Southern Almajaris will not leave your cursed states for Lagos

You're a joker. Instead of calling out your governor to fix the deplorable roads, you're hear fighting people you obviously haven't even been to their states. Who told you people come to Lagos because it has better faculties than their states. You see how myopic you are? People come because the businesses which people like you are supposed to do aren't doing them because you're either lazy or myopic fools. We all know there are no jobs in Lagos, virtually everyone comes here to start a business or somewhat. Even Uyo, Calabar, PH, Owerri, Enugu city, and Kano have better roads than Victoria Island and Lekki (the supposed hub of the state) you all should leave your bleeped up places and move to other states and see how people live freely. It's not everytime Lagos this, Lagos that.

If Lagos had good infastructure, the people from those other states would tell you all, there's no beef. Just the way the people from other states say Lagos is good for business and you keep quiet is the same way they turn to complain that facilities are bad and you'd complain. How hypocritic!

Not being informed doesn't mean one uses AI in writing. I see you're completely foolish. Same as richdaniels

I just read through the thread and understood the whole drama. So, someone gave you a job, a paying job! And you some how started writing and it gets flagged for AI and your thoughts are: "oh, the AI checkers, made by big software corporations, are wrong and you're right. Oh, you swear you didn't use AI..."
You ain't just a poor writer, sadly, you're also a poor liar. So, the client partnered with the AI checker to defraud you, right? I don't understand how some writers on Nairaland think. You make us look bad! Of all excuses, it was this you could come up with and you started crying. An article that was flagged 45% AI, that's less than 50%, is definitely having AI content, even God would say so.

Bro, you're the fraud in this story. You're lucky the client even paid 60k for the work.

Aha! Make una reason am nah! I know some clients can be silly but please, we are all writers, come on. If it were within 85% and above, I would have understood. But 45% and you all were consoling him and asking whether or not they had discussed to beat AI previously. Such discussion is similar to saying, you went to a hospital when you're sick and they call the cleaner to attend to you. You find out and want to sue ,then the hospital tells you, you came into the hospital saying you're sick, you didn't ask for a doctor. That's madness!

It's the audacity for me! What is shocking is that you're wrong and you're so confidently saying something stupid and somehow console yourself that you're making a point.

It is called Artificial intelligence for a reason, no matter how good AI is, it cannot write or think as human. If you write a work yourself and it keeps on getting flagged as AI, you therefore are a poor writer who writes in robotic language and no expression for the reader to flow. So, how you claim to be a good writer and keep on getting flagged for AI baffles me.

I know liars when I see them, you do not even know me and you're blabbing that you started writing before me. It's hilarious 😂 to say the least. How can someone pay you to write as a robot, what immature writer are you. I doubt you've even written for up to 3 years, I would be shocked if you pass as a 4 years writer. This is writing 101, every dumb writer knows this.

My advice is that you crawl back to the village you're writing from because you're just exposing your ignorance here to the public. It's a big 🤣 joke to think that someone would pay you to write AI contents. If that's the case, no one would be looking for writers, they'd simply use AI, at least it's free! Get on Fiverr, Upwork and other platforms, writers are on high demand despite the existence of AI. The reason being AI writing is different from human writing, you don't even have to stress it, just write humanly from your thoughts and it comes out highly human with no AI.

Well, this is what you get in an unregulated professional industry, every amateur person would claim to be an expert. But the beauty of professionalism is that those amateur people would later show their true colours themselves.
