joseph1013:hi, 15% pa for 9months on N5M is less than 750k. Emphasis is on 9months whilst per annum is 12months. |
FarmTech:Congrats. Wish U the best. |
Hi, the gtbank staff was right from my understanding. If it's an inflow from abroad you can't withdraw cash. U can only use it for online payments too, transfers etc. On the other hand if you deposited cash in your dom account then you can withdraw cash. So you can discuss with your bankers to help you sell as they have access to a lot if demands n the rates are better too. Just make more enquiries and you should be better informed at d end of d day. |
ihedioramma:Pa Ihedi!!! Making bnsitl laugh out loud since 1800. |
I hail everyone of U guys. Welldone, I dey follow una bumper to bumper. |
Hi all, pls does any1 have any current info on Uacn and Uac prop? Prices seem to be gaining momentum. |
Ok,thank you. How can I reach you for further discussion on this? |
Hi...which areas do you have farmlands now? Price? Regards. |
timothy001: Thanx very much And i'll terminate my FD and op for T.BHi Bro, just a soft reminder; don't forget there are pros and cons like the man mentioned above...Terminating a fixed deposit investment is easier than terminating a TB and U can only have treasury bills running for a minimum of about 90 days except the banks sell to you from their purse. Now, concerning commercial papers; I remember GTB told me years back that the minimum investment required was N10M and it is basically like fixed deposit but the main difference is that you are not charged withholding tax when your investment matures. I hope this helps someone. |
Chomzy19: Hi @AllHi, i guess U meant compound interest. Lets use N100000 as an example. For 91days tenor at 11% per annum 11% is 11/100 X N100000 =N11000 at d end of a year which is 365days. So per day is 11000/365days.=30.137k per day. For 91days, your interest will become N30.137k X 91days=N2,742.46k. I hope this helps. |
Hi Bosses, I just noticed my tenor was reduced to 85days instead of 91. I suspect they took the weekend n the last holidays out. im thinking of writing the bank and telling them I think its not right but I want to find out if anyone observed same or if that's the way its done. Regards. |
Elai147: The thing shock me too o... I hope by FY 2013 they are able to cancel the negative cash flow. With a lot of work done so far I didn't expect them to get a positive cash flow by Q2 2013. As for me, I am trading Oando with caution. Na long term things I dey for Oando (if possible). So I am waiting for the right time (if it will ever come) to take the rest of my position. But we need to see great improvement in their cash flow and debt repayment.Bosses,if one is considering the negative cash flow, I think its not that bad from -N35b to about -N15b in a year but the reduced turnover and profit is what scares me. |
Donvitalis: Bro, these rates yu listed can be used to calculate your interest right?Hi,if I may reply U on behalf of the required person;Yes! |
Hi All, any takes on Zenith's posted H1 results? Increases seem rather modest and one can only wonder what the effect of this so much talked about CRR increase will be eventually on this year's performance. A 7% increase in EPS to 144k fom 134k,about 8% increase in PBT and 7% PAT is this rather less than expected? Perhaps when FBNH and Guaranty releases theirs one will have comparative references.Rgds. |
This market isn't for the faint-hearted mehn!!! Focus and long-term perspectives are indeed required. Regards to everyone and I wish y'all a good time whilst navigating the NSE. |
stockbull: it's brought to notice through some posts that mods in this forum put quality and informative posts in hidden without any convincing reason and i could see that my post was in hidden without any suspected reason.this needs to be addressedAn explanation should be given on the above by whoever is responsible for such action(s). |
fsb: Hello house, has anyone been debited for last week's treasury bills auction yet?Hi Sir, I was debited on the 12th of August. Regards. |
Bosses in the house, a quick one here; Do you think the banking sector forecasts and bottom-lines will be reviewed downwards with the said increase in CRR? if yes do you see this impacting negatively in the share prices now or by the time the full 2013 results are announced? Going forward, what will be your strategy if you have substantial percentage of your portfolio in this sector? |
stock4life: The message below was sent by GT Bank. Pls will this cushon the effect of the CRR policy on banks stock? Its nice to note that they didn't write concerning those that currently have interest paying instruments with them. |
Thanks again Elai.. This was exactly my calculation since it was .50k and after the construction company, it was made #2.50, so i'd said it was just a play of nomenclature as nothing was lost nor gained except the recent drop from 2.50 to 2.25. Maybe stockbull got more info about this. He should share
Hi Bosses in the house; My thoughts on the above is that if the number of outstanding shares in this said company is about the same with other insurance coys now, the price will soon nosedive to the 0.50k it was before the reconstruction and if things don't change in the insurance sector for good, one may find it difficult to sell after a while, reminds me of equity assurance. |
anyanwu58: Yes it really help.Hi,it wont be declared until next year cos their accounting year is from January1 -December31, and you know time is needed to compile results considering the size of the company and their activities, cook books for us if the need arises etc. |
YoY, Presco seems not to be in a very good shape, if this isn't good news to the shareholders I can only imagine the price going South. 7up seems to me to have risen because some people got hold of their impressive result before it became news.Looking through the result of May and baker, I think I can guess this result is the reason for the loss in share price today. Wemabank declared close to a billion naira loss and the price appreciated today; quite a volatile market just as Stockbull mentioned earlier. |
How are the mighty fallen? Zenith and FBNH closed below the N20 and N17 marks that seemed to have been their support levels. Could this be a good time to buy Zenith and Fbnh whose results are also being expected? |

Hi Boss,Interim dividend as the name implies is the dividend paid before the final one is declared. it comes between two final dividends(declared after full year results). Some investors use that in their stock picking approach e.g Gtbank usually gives interim dividend, so for IBTC that declared say 70kobo as interim, whatever they declare as final dividend will include what has already been paid, e.g if the final dividend is 50kobo,this brings dividend for the year to 1.20=(70+50). I hope this helps. |

Yes,You will as their closure date is in August. |
God bless this house. Pls born to b rich or any other one in the house, how do i get the e-dividend form. Eti sent theirs with their last dividend to me. Ntn yet from fidelity. Again does it mean fo, dang flour, oando have never paid dividend since 2010?
Hi Boss, whatever company you want to have their e-dividend form; just type the name of the registrar added with e-dividend and post on Google. that was how I got my first bank and nascon's e-dividend forms, I downloaded from the net, printed, sent someone to the bank and I went to their registrar. I am aware Oando declared a dividend this year, probably 75k, u might need to wait a while to get by post. |
ihedioramma: DO YOU HAVE CSCS OR TRADEALERT PHONE NUMBER'S? IF YES GIVE THERE PHONE NUMBER PLS.Bros,CSCS'S NOS are; 014545966,014543397.Stockbrokers have the form, just tell your broker you want to subscribe for tradealert. |
Pls house, is there a way of knowing how much your shares were actually sold or one takes whatever the brokers reel out as the sale? For example, i'd instructed my broker to sell off my fo tday at a price not less than #42 should the market head south. Today, fo dipped to #39. How do i determine the actual price. Oga Elai plss!
hi, if you sign up for tradealert, you will get an sms probably from cscs (im not sure) stating the number of shares purchased on ur behalf and the amount. I also think the service is for free as I'm not being charged for it. |
I hope the monies for printing and posting of dividend warrants and certificates will be given to shareholders though. At all at all na im bad, abi? |
veeco vee: I 'm yet to fill and submit mine. Pls is it late to get my uba edividend this year?hi,Your dividend would be waiting for you till you go and claim it. |
jposuagwu: Sanusi is not devaluing the naira for now. He is rather defending the naira at current rate. He has instead elected to increase CRR to 50% meaning banks must deposit 50% of govt funds in their vaults with the CBN. It is the banks that will be hit by this but trust the Nigerian banks, they have resistance. They will devise a way to wriggle out it. Presently bank shares are losing but they will all bounce bank in no time.hmmmn,i have a feeling FBNH will be seriously hit, little wonder the banks have steadily been on a price decline in the last few days. Well, maybe its time to mop up more bank shares??Now, what explains the sudden race wey oil companies dey run dis past few days? By and large this current run has shown me the reason why one should have a well balanced portfolio. |
Godsfavson: Pls Ogas in the house. can u educate me on the implications of closure date and payment date as regards dividend payments and bonuses.. thanksHi Godsfavson, closure date refers to when the said company will close their register of shareholders, whilst the payment date refers to the date the said bonus or dividend is to be paid and consequently marked down appropriately. so, if you buy before closure date you should be a partaker of the said bonus and or dividend. |
? Isn't that rather too small?
