Education / Re: Things You Should Stop Doing In Life For Your Self-respect by Rickmann: 7:14pm On Sep 03, 2023
Nkem96:
1. Stop begging for love or attention - I live by the principle “If they wanted to they would”. Don't form excuses for their behaviors, they show you who they are accept it and leave.

2. Stop going to places where you aren't invited or valued - doesn't matter how much you enjoy with them don't hang out if your presence isn't appreciated.

3. Stop trying to change others - that's the worst thing you can do to yourself. I will change him or her. No. You are not their mommy, invest in yourself for your goal. They are wrong, but they might be right for someone else. Find who is right for you.

4. Stop giving explanations - to ones who don't matter to you or will not matter in the coming years. Stop. Let them have whatever opinions they want to have about you, don't entertain them. Not worth it.

5. Stop putting others before you - as long as they aren't your parents or siblings. No one cares about that charity behavior when there is competition. First, save yourself then help others. This won't make you selfish at all. Show charity and a selfless attitude where it is needed. Leaving opportunities for others, umm I won't suggest. You got that opportunity because you deserve it, go and make the best out of it. And don't forget to wish good for others. Stay humble and grounded.

Hope this helps.
Keep smiling smiley

i totally agree.

LOVEALAIGBO:

Key thing is to find some similarity in meaning and a connection can be made with some degree of certainty! Who came first is less important, but as you said it’d probably mean the Yoruba have roots from Egypt or Sudan…formerly known as the land of the Kushites.

ok i think i get ur point now.
Politics / Re: Was This Egyptian Pharaoh A YORUBA Man? by Rickmann: 3:41pm On Aug 30, 2023
LOVEALAIGBO:

If there is a link, it’s more likely the present day Yoruba, together with one or more other ethnicities in present day Africa, are descended from this Pharaohs’ lineage! After all, we’re talking of more than 2,500 years ago and studies show civilisation started in that part of Africa. The indigenous populations of present West, Central and Southern Africa would probably have migrated from present day Egypt and Sudan.

If his name was Bakare, then Egyptologists could tell us what that meant in ancient Egypt of the time….and if the meaning is similar to what it means in Yoruba, then you’d have been able to establish some link between the two.

so it then means yorubas adopted the name and not the other way round.
its simple.

Obaaderemi2:
Then why are they pretending even when a guy shows interest?

its not pretense, its called sexual DETACHMENT.

Women demonstrate sexual detachment almost all the time. This is what make them the more sexually appealing gender.

Remember, both man and woman have sexual desires, but if the woman shows her sexual desire, men will call her a cheap slut. So she act like she doesn't like sex in order to protect her self-image.

late 30s and early 40s, although I'm at my early 30s too. But the funniest part of these relationships I've had was that when we are done making love kiss they would be thanking me like "Ayomide thank so much". Despite I'm not a kid I still found this statement funnygrin
and strange. Why would you thank me for something we made and had together, okay fine, I made you Çum but I Çum too. So I guess this should be normal of what we shared together grin grin .....out of 100% ladies that I've dated, over 90% of them says this to me after I'm done Kñacking them..... tongue tongue

Pussycokie45:
may be because it was the work of Anglican priest so they formed their own Igbo alphabets and promoted by a man called Ida Ward.
The introduction of central Igbo language brought confusion among scholars and students of Igbo language as well as great competition between Igbo Catholics and Anglicans which lasted until 1963.

FOURTH GENERATION: Onwu Alphabets (1961- Present):

in 1961, a committee of Igbo language scholars was inaugurated with Maazi Onwu as chairman. The committee took a deep look at the conflict between the proponents of union Igbo alphabets and central Igbo alphabets and from both alphabet systems, a new set of alphabets was selected and named Onwu alphabets after the committee chairman because of the excellent work he put forth to end the scholarly conflict and unnecessary competition.Hence, the current Igbo alphabets are 36 in all and as follows:

a b ch d e f
g gb gh gw h i
I j k kp kw l
m n n nw ny o
o p r s sh t
u u v w y z.

The current igbo alphabets are classified into two groups: vowels and Consonants. Igbo vowels are Eight: a, e, ị, I, o, ọ, ụ, u.

Igbo consonants are 28:

b ch d f g gb gh gw h j k kp kw l m n n nw ny p r s sh t v w y z.

The English alphabet not found in Igbo language alphabet system is only "X". The End.

wow..this is interesting.
Politics / Re: Wike Approves Demolition; 6000 Buildings Affected. by Rickmann: 5:51pm On Aug 23, 2023
Kingzjayzee:
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike has approved demolition of Garki, Jabi and other 28 slums which have earlier been surveyed by the Federal Capital Development Authority before this administration.

The demolition, according to the FCTA, will affect about 6,000 buildings which have been marked in an effort to rid the territory of shanties and illegal structures.

The FCTA said the demolition will affect 30 areas across the Federal Capital Territory.

On Monday, after his inauguration as Minister, Wike, who is the immediate past governor of Rivers State, vowed to restore the master plan of FCT, saying that all illegal structures would be demolished and that his administration was ready to end land speculations.

He said he had moved round the FCT in the night to see things for himself and lamented that the master plan of the territory has been distorted with illegal structures in green areas of Abuja, insisting they will be demolished.

“At least 6,000 illegal structures in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) across 30 areas might be demolished by the Federal Government.

Wike said: “We will take back our land and give to those who want to develop, and you must sign that you must develop at so and so time.’’

However, the Director of the FCTA Department of Development Control, Muktar Galadima said, a new survey will be conducted.

“We would find time to go back and conduct a new survey, noting that the last survey carried out was in February, 2022.
