Celebrities / Re: R Kelly ‘prison Concert’ Sparks Outrage As Pics Go Viral – But All Is Not As It by Rickmann: 7:58pm On May 05
Babanews:
A series of pictures appearing to show jailed singer R. Kelly performing a concert in prison sparked outrage after going viral.

The disgraced R&B star is serving 31 years behind bars for offences including assaults on underage girls, sex trafficking and racketeering.

So when four images emerged on Tuesday, appearing to show the 56-year-old performing to thousands of inmates wearing orange jumpsuits in a correctional facility, it sent the internet into meltdown.

But it transpired that the images are deepfakes created using AI (artificial intelligence) technology.

In September 2021, Kelly was jailed for 30 years after being found guilty of eight counts of sex trafficking and one of racketeering in a New York court.

The following year, in September 2022, he was convicted of child sexual abuse at a second federal trial in Chicago.

Now deepfakes have come to light showing Kelly wearing an orange leather jacket and singing onstage in prison, with thousands of inmates gathering for the ‘concert’.

The final two shots showed the rapper in a prison orange hood and surrounded by five men as he seemed to be walking to a show.

One person on Twitter wrote: “Wow, who knew being a criminal could boost your music career?”

Another joked: “His tickets [are] cheap too, only cost 3 felonies for front row seats.”

A third added: “Aaah! I’ve seen enough in this world.”

AI-generated images are created using machine learning algorithms, analysing existing pictures.

With a slew of deepfake images cropping up across the internet, the authenticity of the Bump n’ Grind artist’s pictures was immediately questioned.

Later on Tuesday, MandyNews were quick to debunk claims that the images were real.

After their investigation, the outlet wrote: “We confirm that the claims surrounding R. Kelly’s alleged prison concert are false.”

One person wrote: “I see why people saying the AI s**t is dangerous now.”

A third studious person Tweeted: “AI generated images. Not real.”

Another wrote “Learning to discern between AI and real life is something many [people] will have to adapt to, or they’ll fall for any piece of news placed before them.”

It’s not the first time an AI deep fake photo has fooled the internet.

Last month, a picture of Pope Francis seemingly wearing a white puffer jacket and bejeweled crucifix went viral after being posted to Reddit.

Model Chrissy Teigen Tweeted: “I thought the pope’s puffer jacket was real and didn’t give it a second thought. No way am I surviving the future of technology.”

Initially duping the online world, it emerged that the image was AI generated using software, Midjourney.

NOTE: As a responsible news outlet, BABA NEWS will continue to fact-check and verify the authenticity of such claims to provide our readers with accurate and reliable information.

Education / Re: People Born On THESE 5 Dates Are Arrogant And Overconfident by Rickmann: 5:36pm On Apr 24
dododawa1:
Numerology is an age-old science that uses a person's birthday to determine certain characteristics and inclinations. Certain birthdates are linked to people who are conceited and frequently exhibit an exaggerated feeling of superiority and overconfidence.

Numerology reveals that some Life Path Numbers are associated with potentially arrogant people. Let us know people born on which dates have an arrogant and overconfident personality.

People Born On These Dates Are Arrogant

1. Number 3 (People Born On 3rd, 12th, 21st, 30th Of Any Month)

These folks frequently express themselves and aim for attention. When someone thinks their ideas and ingenuity are unmatched, they might come across as conceited. People with Life Path Number 3 might like being the centre of attention, which could result in an exaggerated sense of self-importance.

2. Number 9 (People Born On 9th, 18th, 27th Of Any Month)

Due to their altruistic outlook, these folks might come out as conceited. They can think they are morally superior to others who lack empathy because they attempt to assist others. People with Life Path Number 9 may come off as patronising if they believe others aren't doing enough to make the world a better place. As per numerological beliefs, people born on certain dates have an arrogant and overconfident personality. (Image Source: Canva)

3. Number 1 (People Born On 1st, 10th, 19th, 28th Of Any Month)

These people's innate leadership abilities may cause them to be haughty. They may show signs of overconfidence in their talents and a strong desire to be in charge. People with Life Path Number 1 may occasionally come off as conceited because they think their thoughts and vision are better than others. 4. Number 5 (People Born On 5th, 14th, 23rd Of Any Month)

These individuals are free-spirited and daring. When they defy authority or conventional conventions and think they are superior to following social norms, they may exhibit arrogance. Those with Life Path Number 5 may think they are better than others because of their distinct viewpoints.

5. Number 8 (People Born On 8th, 17th, 26th Of Any Month)

These individuals' competitive and ambitious personalities may cause them to exhibit arrogance. They may have an excessive amount of confidence in their ability to succeed and strive for achievement. People with Life Path Number 8 may occasionally come across as patronising, particularly if they think others lack their level of ambition or ability.

Food / Re: Why Is The Price Of Beer Cheaper In The North Compared To South (video) by Rickmann: 7:42pm On Apr 21
immortalcrown:
Beer is cheaper there for many reasons. Some of the reasons are:

1.
Rent and labour are cheaper there. It is cheap to rent a bar and pay waitresses.

2.
Higher rates of poverty and illiteracy in the region positively hinder ostentatious lifestyles there.

3.
The demand for beer is low there for religious reasons. The lower the demand for a product, the lower the price of the product.

4.
Another possible reason is that there may be many breweries in the North.

Ur number 3 contradicts 4.
How can there be many breweries in the North when it's common knowledge that the demand for brew is low for religious reasons.

Politics / Re: Hebrew Is Indeed IGBO. Amazing Language Similarity by Rickmann: 7:17pm On Apr 21
Tellmeastory:
Hebrew = Igbo

The Hebrew word for "son" is ben; plural is bānim.

In Hebrew you say ‘Josh Ben Kasper’ to mean ‘Josh, son of Kasper’

In Igbo the same is done, usually in the village where everyone knows each other.

So if you are referring to a guy in your village named Kelechi Okafor, you would say ‘Kelechi BEH Okafor’, meaning “Kelechi Of The House Of Okafor”,

And then the PLURAL of the Hebrew word, Ben, as stated above, is ‘bānim’.

In Igbo that of course translates to the same word, BANYIN.. meaning “Our common home”.

It’s incredible.

People are wicked in this country.

Greed will finish us in this country.

Go to trade fare and see how street retailers are ripping us off big time.

My wife bought her body cream CT+ at the rate 2100 at trade fare yesterday while in our area retailers are selling it for 3700.

Kk brothers soap my wife bought the pack for 7k(6pieces) while one is sold for 1700 by retailers.

Her sanitary pad she bought 1 pack at the rate of 1050 while retailers sell for 1700.

Even strike bitters sachet pack(20 pieces) wey I dey always use console myself i buy for 2000 she got it for 1450.

Note she didn't even buy at carton price but at pack price because if she was buying in carton the price would be lower that than.

Just yesterday I bought a derica of rice on my way back home for 900 around oshodi terminal while the seller in my street is still selling for 1300 despite price of bag of rice coming down.

We are own problem.......everyone is wicked in this country.

I made a post about this sometime ago.
Its so easy for people to call out the government while we keep being wicked o ourselves. Retailers aren't helping the current situation at all.

Crime / Re: 14 Years Old Girl Dies In Hotel While Lodging With A 17 Years Old Guy In Bayelsa by Rickmann: 1:11pm On Apr 04
dubaino:
The Bayelsa State Police Command has ordered for an investigation into the cause of the death of a 14-yr old girl in an hotel along the Isaac Boro Expressway, Yenagoa.

The command's spokesman, ASP Musa Mohammed who disclosed this, said the Criminal Investigation Department ( CID ) of the Command is carrying out the order from the Commissioner of Police, CP Alonyenu Iduh.

Recalled that the deceased, Sharon James, who hailed from Akaibiri Community in Ekpetiama Clan of Yenagoa LGA, was said to have lodged into the hotel with the suspect, an unnamed 17-year old boy on Sunday.

We gathered that the deceased was said to have gone into the bathroom to take her bath around 11pm and never return as expected, so the suspect with fear reportedly opened the bathroom only to see the deceased in a pool of her own blood on the floor.

We also gathered that suspect then alerted his elder brother who was in another room, and they both rushed the deceased to the Federal Medical Centre, Yenagoa for prompt medical attention, but it was too late for them as she was declared dead on arrival.

She was said to have had deep cuts on the neck and leg.

We further learnt that the father of the deceased, Mr. Ebitari James, demanded for autopsy to establish the cause of his daughter’s death while the suspect is in police custody.

This shouldn't take the police more than 24hrs to unravel but they are just shit when it comes to investigation.

Let me continue the story; many persons seems to be getting the narrative wrong. Although I'm not a story teller, so try to read slowly, comprehend before replying.

To continue...I was now speaking with the uncle she stays with (He was the first person I went to visit with drink and declared my intention to marry her last two yrs) I asked what was going on, I need clarification as I don't understand. He replied that he was shocked to have seen me that he thought me and her were no longer together. Saying that he told her to tell me that family did not accept me because of my ethnicity (I'm Edo). This girl didn't tell me anything, totally kept me in the dark and none of her family members told me anything like that. I became furious and the Uncle reacted aggressively, telling me to leave his house.

The next day 12th February, I matched back to the house with my soldier friend to ask her about the welfare of the unborn child, this girl replied that she thought she was pregnant but she's not. Omoh, how can someone be thinking she's pregnant for 7months? I spent money to Register her for antenatal, do send money for provisions, buy fruits and all that. It was obvious she had aborted the pregnancy.

I wanted to take it up with her but family advise I let go of everything and move on. People can be wicked sha. Her reason for all these was that family did not want their daughter to marry from Edo

Pls where is she from?

Politics / Re: The CHURCH Is The Reason Why Nigeria Isn't Working by Rickmann: 7:34am On Mar 28
babasolution:
Actually my post isn't about the church but about the colonial GENERATION who destroyed Nigeria.

There's a common denominator about them
All they know and understand is religion.

For the Christians their ultimate focus is church church ,Bible ,God etc.

The Muslims is the same.

They are the generation that killed all thriving industries and created the current booming religion industry in NIG.

That has been their legacy has they bow out,
Religion.

They have built nothing
They have left nothing

Younger generation are building Nigeria from the ground up.

The only thing the colonial GENERATION have built successfully in Nigeria is the religious industry with thriving booming churches worldwide and Islamist fundamentalism.

No technology, no innovation, no economic progress, no infrastructure, no political advancement, no industries, only few businesses,no rule of law,no educational advancements etc .

only
Religion, only religion

Spot on bro.
