“Implementing the directive of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s for 50% discount on transport fares for Nigerians during the yuletide got a serious boost especially as one hundred and twenty-eight travellers from Abuja, who were bound for destinations in the North – Gombe, Bauchi, Yola and Maiduguri were freighted to their destinations paying only half of the transport fares charged for each of their destinations, as monitored by Federal Ministry of Transportation Situation Room Monitoring Team on Christmas Day.
“Thanks to the proactive efforts of the Association of Luxury Bus Owners, travellers were able to enjoy a significant reduction in their transportation costs, with Clement Okuefuna overseeing the disbursement of the reimbursements at the Area 1 motor park in Abuja.
“Notably, ALBON’s collaboration with the National Union of Road Transport Workers has effectively ensured that passengers are promptly refunded half of their fare payments upon boarding designated vehicles, thereby making the President’s transport palliative a reality.”
“The last 16-seater passenger bus which loaded, got its passenger refunded half of the transport fares paid back to them and heading for Bauchi and Maiduguri rounded off the operation at Area 1 Motor Park, Abuja,” the statement added.
SaharaReporters had reported that President Tinubu approved a 50 percent reduction in the prices of inter-state transport fares for Nigerians travelling during the Yuletide from December 21, 2023, to January 4, 2024.
It also reported that the President approved free rides for commuters on all train services within the period.
The Minister of Solid Minerals Development and Chairman of the inter-ministerial committee on presidential intervention, Dele Alake, had announced the administration’s gesture to State House Correspondents at the Aso Rock Villa.

About an 30mins later she started calling me to ask for my whereabouts which i told her not to bother about me coz my head dey hot due to wetin she dey follow me drag before we both left the house. As i came back in i didn’t want to pour out my anger by saying any harsh word to her i just went straight to the bathroom to take my shower but this girl wont let me be she kept stalking me and i was avoiding her she kept on doing the same all in the name of settling things with her but i was really angered i just needed some lone time because the anger kept aggravating so i took my cloth and decided to leave the apartment again to the balcony this time around but this devilish girl wont let me. there comes another dirty slap again on my face (2nd time slapping me within three days) telling me i am very stupid for wanting to leave the room for her. i was seeing stars but i still endured again and continue struggling to leave her so i can go outside rather than raising my hands on her but this girl wont leave me na my cloth she dey drag and also hitting me hard multiple times on the chest which i still have the mark till now. I kept on begging this girl not to push me to a point where i would do what i don’t want to do but it seems she was bewitched already that time that she won’t stop hitting me hard all over my body and holding my clothes not to leave. I had no choice than to give her what she wanted coz i was really provoked. I didn’t want to do this, she pushed me and i’m regretting now!

The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Betta Edu, has said that the Federal Government has resumed the payment of arrears to beneficiaries of the N-Power programme.
N-Power is a scheme set up in 2016 by the former President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, to address the issues of youth unemployment and help increase social development.
The beneficiaries were being owed some months’ salaries by the former President Muhammadu Buhari administration but paused by President Bola Tinubu on assumption of office.
However, the minister clarified that the Federal Government wants to resolve the lapses in the scheme before resuming it.
Edu, who noted that the payment of arrears to beneficiaries of the programme began yesterday, disclosed this on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Thursday.
Edu said, “Presently, a payment for N-Power is ongoing; we were in the office yesterday up until the early hours of this morning, just to ensure that young people get monies that they have been owed from the last government.
Anyone who still has his hopes in this good-for-nothing npower stipend, must be funny.

I just decided to share my story
I was stripped at the counter and taken to my cell.As soon as I got in there,one of the bulky guy seemingly the leader and his gangs came to me asking of cell money.Then as an ajebo,I was terrified and I lied that It was on my clothes at the counter.
I was told to hang myself on the tiny window close to the roof and heavy hands were falling on my back. I remained that way until I couldn't endure it any longer and I fell down.I was pitied and shown my spot to sit.
In the evening,I was beginning to get really hungry and some of the cell mate organized money and bought yale bread (the carton) and a bag of pure water.It was distribution amongst all of us. Despite my pain,I felt touched by the caring spirit of all.Of course the bread couldn't go round some had to tear their bread into two and give to their cell mates.
I was really touched by the spirit of brotherhood.In the morning,my family brought food for me to eat and I shared to the cellmate.some didn't want to make me feel short on my right so they refused to eat.Mhen the care their is really mind touching.
I spent two nights there.The next Sunday,I didn't go to church.i went straight to the market and bought a carton of yale bread and #500 groundnut which I took to the station.
The policewomen were happy that I remembered those I left in there but one of them took one of the bread for herself despite my plea that the inmate were hungry.I was told to go give them what I brought.
Some of them were shocked that I came back For them. Perhaps I was one of the few who ever did that.
I haven't really been financially okay else I would like to do something for them on Christmas day.
Time still dey,may God help me!

I'm about sharing the story of my life as a single father and how I landed in ikoyi prison and my release.
First of all before I commence with my story I will love to give a special shout out to my aged mother for staying with me during these tough times despite being a widow without any source of income. Please help me say a prayer to her that may she reap the fruits of her labour.
Back to my story, my misfortune started when I started working as a dispatcher for a company. I wouldn't lie I was totally at fault for my ordeal but it wasn't intentional as I had to divert the company's funds for my personal issue(my son's health)
I was arrested and taken to court by my employer and was remanded at ikoyi prison pending was bail was perfected.
I was 13 months of my life in prison. I will share my experiences in prison soon.
Also, I'm glad my son I spent all these money on was hale and hearty as I came back from prison because I promised him I was gonna celebrate this Xmas with him despite sending the last Xmas in prison and I'm glad God made it possible even if I don't have money to get him a Xmas clothes.

My candid advice is to start looking for a side gig or side business and give yourself a target. Then you start living on whatever you get from your side gig as soon as you start generating income and you will start saving your salaries (or freeze your salary account for six months). You can quit as soon as you get at least 6 months of your monthly salary saved and your 1-year house rent paid. This is how to secure a living before quitting a job
Do not quit ur job just yet, the country is tough right now. Talk to you ur boss and see if he can give you a pay rise. Whether or not he agrees , you can keep searching and also try to get some training like excel and co.

Approx. 10k is needed for 1 grown adult. Thats 15k gross salary. That amounts to $180k/year(before tax is removed)....Some USA doctors do not make this much e.g Pediatricians in university hospitals
These are basics, anyone JAPA-ING without a desirable degree in America e.g, Tech certifications, Nursing, Medical. Will need an American degree to make over 50k a year. 50K a year means 30k after taxes, social security, insurance and retirement. To be able to just live alone, you will need 2 jobs. American jobs are designed to be hectic enough for 1 person/ 1 job in 24hours. If you work 2 jobs a day......Its at the expense of your health/social relationships/family time etc...There is a cost !!! Even the Tech, nurses, medical will have to pass exams, these exams and preparations could cost $20k with no guarantee of passing.
So the hard part is how can you survive with $40-50k/ year with a basic living cost requiring at least $180k/ year. If you go to school hear, the loans are crippling at 7-8% interests for government loans and even up to 20% for private loans. Even if you work 2 jobs, which means you leave your house (8am-4pm) (4pm-12am)....This will be at the expense of your health, lifespan, social health. Its not really humanely possible.
Even if you come with a spouse, one of you has to work 2 jobs at the very least, if not both of you. If you work through winter months doing double shifts, you can actually go 4 months without seeing the sun, which results in a lot of mental health issues in Africans, because we were not built for that, and the awareness is not emphasized.
Dont get me wrong its hard in Nigeria, but dont forget, you are coming to a place where their ancestors use to come and kidnap people in Africa for free Labour in the USA as slaves. These mentality has only being finessed over time. However it still exists. Do not be fooled by the few successful JAPA stories. I guarantee you for every one successful JAPA, there are a thousand living from Hand to mouth, paying only bills and taxes around the clock.
I have attached snippets of a reddit column of Americans complaining about the cost of living. Mind you these people went to schools here, so they are better treated and paid in the Labour market. You being a JAPA will be systematically paid less than them most times.

A teacher in Osun State, Akanni Sunday, has been arrested by men of the Department of State Services (DSS) for allegedly raping and impregnating his 16-year-old JSS 2 student, Anifat Ahmed.
Sunday, a teacher with Tourchlife Premier School, Aga, Ido Osun, was also accused of a failed attempt to abort the pregnancy.
A human rights activist, Citizen Lola Wey, reported to the DSS to get justice for the girl.
Anifat told newsmen that, “Our teacher, Akanni Sunday, said I should come to his house to collect my French notebook. When I got there, he took me to his room and I later realised that he was alone at home. I shouted for help but nobody was there to help me. That was how he removed my clothes and raped me.”
