alBHAGDADI:

Abraham gave tithe because he knew what How had done for him. Imagine defeating those Kings and their armies with just 300 labourers of his. It was only made possible because of God. So he paid a tithe from the spoils of the war to show appreciation. If he hadn't, he won't have come across such favours again because it would mean he's an Ingrate. That's why those who paid tithe do so because they see that what they got is as a result of God's assistance, not their own might

Secondly, the passage in Corinthians is talking about freewill giving, not tithing. Even though Paul said that in the New Testament, this doesn't mean freewill giving was something new to the New Testament. It has always existed in the Old Testament. Go read Leviticus.

Freewill given is something that is not compulsory. No one will charge you if you don't give. But tithe is compulsory and that is why God said you are robbing him when you don't pay it. It belongs to him and to his house.

let me put it this way
can i use my tithe in the house of God myself?
for example . if my church is lacking instrument..can i use my tithe of N100,000 to buy the instrument instead of paying to the church account

It's not for you to worry about what the Church is doing or. ot doing with the money. It's only required of you to pay the money. If the church is using the money wrongly, those in charge will be punished by God.

Besides, you might not have all the right information behind your contemplation.

Remember, even since you been paying and the church allegedly hasn't been using it appropriately, God has still been blessing you. That should be your major concern. Deciding to try some other way might cut that blessing.

Imagine Aaron the High Priest was consuming all the tithes without feeding the Levites and needy. No one would complain because he's God's ordained priest to oversee it all. But God would never be happy with him especially seeing starving widows and orphans while Aaron grew fat. Still yet, that should be between the priest and God.

Why are you tithing to Nigeria from America? Don't you attend a church over in America? They need it more because that's where you get spiritually nourished. Don't rob Peter to pay Paul.

thanks for your input i appreciate

i have been tithing since i was in nigeria and made a convenant to always tithe to my home church wherever i found myself.

i was just thinking that God said bring ur tithe to my storehouse and it doesnt matter who uses it,

i just have some strange leadings about my tithe. i feel like giving to charity, ibeliev it the Lord speaking to me because i have never felt this way b4

I pay tithe in thousands everyweek from US to 9ja church. my parents actually help me pay it.
now I have never missed a payment of my tithe. I pay every week in thousands even sometimes up to a hundred thousand naira. (every week)

Lately i have been having this feeling that I should direct my parents to raction the tithe payment ie pay tithe directly to the church this week and then next week tithe use the tithe to buy food for old women and starving people in the church. and continue the cycle like that

lately i was just imagining if the old women and less priviledge in the church share my tithe for a week which can be up to N50,000. or N100,000 everyweek, they will be exceedingly happy .(mind you i usually give few thusands every month to old women in the church) but each time i pay my tithe sometimes i find it difficult to give extra again, (those in the US will understand)

Now dont get me wrong, I am a strong advocate of tithing and giving.

one of the reasons I am contemplating doing this is because i feel the church is not charitable to the poor at all. my mum do tell me about how the church dont even buy instruments and take care of the surroundings.
now i shouldnt mind what they do with the tithe or not, but again, if the church i am paying tithe to is not doing anything positive with the money then it kinda weakens my spirit.

i have been paying tithe since i was 13 years old. even as little as any pocket money given to me buy my uncles then in Nigeria. i do tithe it.
God has been so wonderful to me i cant tell it all. i have never lacked since i started tithing.

the problem now is that I am kinda scared that God might be mad at me if i start ractioning the tithe . but i also have a conviction in my heart that since i will be using some of the tithe to bless people in the house of the Lord then He wont be mad,

I am very confuse. Please help and advice me if you understand me

mod if you can front page this , so that I can get more answers pls.. thanks

Cyclotron:
Visa approved @ the US Embassy, Abuja yesterday.

Got there around 6:30am packaged like a Jehova's witness with my documents' bag.

@7:30 am, we were checked in and did the biometric stuffs.
Fully composed waiting for my turn to reach, I was suddenly thrown off balance with the way people were denied espcially in window 8 (young white lady). Anyway, I decided to catch some fun with some funny stuffs going on there in order to regain my confidence.
(a woman pretended assumed to understand and speak only Igbo language, but when her visa was approved; she asked the attendant/usher why the VO seized her passport 'in pure English' grin ). .........
...It was certain that I would be interviewed by the 'window 8' lady, I tried using the 'toilet formula' but she was still very busy arguing about 'domestic violence' with one man there (for my mind.."oga no gree oh"wink.
The lady @ window 7 then called..

VO:.... (still smiling due to her conversation with the lady she just approved).
Me:....(confidence loading...99%)
VO: Good morning
Me: Good morning ( passed my documents)
VO: Have you been to US before?
Me: No
VO: Why this school?.
Me: It offers excellent research opportunities which tallies with my research interest.
VO: I can see you are going for masters in chemistry.
Me: Yes ma
VO: Why this program?
Me: I intend to be a lecturer upon the completion of this program,..( she starts nodding, still looking @ her computer...then continued typing).. so this program will equip me with the knowledge and research skills necessary for me to succeed as a lecturer.
VO: ...(glanced through my I-20 )..Wow! You got a very nice funding from the school.
Me: Yes ma
VO: May I ####
Me: Pardon.. (..didn't hear what she said)
VO:....(..comes closer to the mic now).. May I see your funding letter please.
Me: Ok....(passed the letter to her)
VO:.....(she perused it, then started nodding like agama lizard)
Me:...(hmm...Obago!!!)
VO: Your Visa has been approved...(she kept on talking but I didn't hear any other thing apart from when she was showing me the resumption date...)
Me: ..(now nodding like the real agama lizard cheesy , ... trying to make sure she doesn't mistakenly pass me my passport) Thank you!!

Very big thanks to Slimmy (de living saint), Seedord (Mr incredible), Profojah( Honorable Professor/Prophet), Bbdd(Mr 'who send you work' cheesy ) Bigfrancis (Chief chef), Walspring, Darklight, Kennyrony, Imperioux, MsNas, Zee..... abeg una plenty!! God bless you all.
Success to those awaiting theirs.

Still basking in the euphoria of my visa approval yesterday.

Scheduled for 9am, but arrived few minutes past 7. Had to wait till to ten b4 we were called. (I was already annoyed bcause I dnt like waiting and waiting and hearing discouraging words from pple, especially wen I hv an examinatn or interview; prefer to just come, go in and do business...). Anyway, gat no choice but to relax.

I was with my bag containing my laptop and other belongings and hv resolved not to keep it with those women hustling outside the embassy; one of them took sbd's bag and just hanged it on a tree while she continues to attend to other customers buying food frm her... for my mind, make I give u my bag, make another person carry am go and u go come tell me story or worst still, u run away...

Anyway, got inside and after a long wait and queue, it was my turn at window 9. Here was what transpired...

ME: Good morning ma
VO: (Did not answer)...pass me your DS 160 and Pport...., I did
VO: What about your Form I-20...., I passed it also
VO: Where are u going for your Masters?
ME: Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey
VO: Why Rutgers?
ME: Rutgers is the best school in New Jersey
VO: (cut in..) As in? What did u say?
I gave d same answer, and she repeated the same question. (I was thinking maybe because I was stuttering cause I am a stammarer so she did not hear me clearly or perhaps she is doubting my assertion that Rutgers is d best or sth.... so I quickly rephrased and stylishly moved to other cogent reasons...)
ME: Rutgers is one of the best schools in US with a faculty/student ratio of 1/13. It is highly rated in terms of Engineering especially in my field (Energy systems)
VO: (Looks at my Form-I20) But your Form I-20 shows that u are going for a Masters in Mechanical Engineering (design and control)!!
ME: Yes. Design and control of Energy Systems
VO: Ok, tell me about it.
ME: The world survives and thrives on energy. Energy generation, storage and control is essential for human existence and as such every avenue to generate it must be harnessd. I hope to major in energy generation from vibrating bodies, knowing fully well that every object vibrates continuously, though at different frequencies.
VO: Who is sponsoring u?
ME: I got a scholarship from my state government and my brother will be co sponsoring.
VO: Got any document to show?
ME: Sure. (Gave her the account statement and the scholarship letter)
VO: (scan through the documents and passed them to me....started typing....
(me I just they look...for my mind, tell me those golden words.......)
Your visa is approved, take your Form I-20, you will need it at the point of entry bla bla bla...
ME: (smiles...) Thanks and walked away majestically

I want to sincerely appreciate everyone of us for our contributions to this thread. Special thanks to Slimmy and Darklight...u guys are wonderful.
Success to those that are going soon; u will also come here to testify.
Congrats

Visa Approved at the Us Embassy in Lagos yesterday, 6:30 am appointment

Getting in to the visa hall, some guys on the right just kept denying people and quoting US immigration law for them, the ladies on the left were more lenient and listened more, before my turn the lady just denied a 13 year old boy who was going to high school on scholarship, i was a little scared but confident that God had my back, at this point, i didnt really care anymore (5th try)

VO: Why are you going to the US
Me: To pursue a master's degree in public administration
VO: Why this course
Me: Looking at the system of governance in Nigeria which hasn't been the best in recent years, i feel we the youths need to stand up and try to make a difference, be the change we want to see, i believe this course will give me the necessary knowledge to come back to Nigeria and make a difference in a system that has failed its people.
VO: Why do you thing you can make a change with this course
Me: I specifically chose this course because of my planned area of concentration which is "Urban planning and development" and we all know that Nigeria has alot of rural areas in need of development with a huge shortfall of true professionals in that sector, studying this course will give me a unique advantage.
VO: Who is paying for this?
Me: I have a scholarship but my mum is paying for the rest.
VO: (looks at my I-20 again) Do you have a letter from the school confirming the scholarship?
Me: No, but i have the form they sent me when the scholarship was awarded (i passed it over)
VO: Are you married?
Me: Yes
VO: Do you have kids?
Me: Yes, 2
VO: Why aren't your kids going with you
Me: My wife has a job, besides im coming back after my studies so i didnt see the need.
VO: Im returning your I-20, you will need it at the point of entry, your visa has been approved, you can pick it up at this location.
Me: Thank you (Didnt know how to feel, just kept smiling)

Walking out of the Visa hall, i saw a guy at the small security check point just outside the Visa hall, his visa had just been approved, dude knelt down, dropped his documents and started thanking God, security guard was telling him to leave, my bros no even answer am.

Now i have to leave in three weeks, is anyone here in ETSU? I need to find accommodation off campus, is there anyone here that can help or give some pointers? will be highly appreciated.
Congrats

VO: Hello, how are you?

Me: I'm good, you?

"Fine thank you," he answered.

VO: So you are going to UW-Madison on a Fulbright program. That is great.

Me: Yeah.

VO: Been to the US before?
"No," I answered.

VO: Let me give you this, consult it in case you have any difficulty in the U.S - which I doubt because you are on a government sponsored program. Meanwhile, you should collect your visa at the Public Affairs Section on Monday. Have a good day.

Me: You too. Thank you.

Its time for testimony, visa approved yesterday, should have posted transcript but was a little busy. I was up for the 6.30am appointment, we got checked in and all and about 8.30am, I was called to the VO in window 7, find below the conversation that took place between US;

ME; Goodmorning
VO; Did not answer, please kindly pass me your documents
ME; passes it, He took my biometrics and then asked
VO; Why are you going to the USA?
ME; I am going to the USA for my Masters Program in Agriculture, Agriculture Operations at the Murray State University
VO; Why Murray State University?
ME; I choose Murray State University because the Hutson school of agriculture is hierachical extremely especially in my field of study as it does provide student with the current and breaking agricultural technology, Most importantly, I am most fascinated by the experiment been carried out in the department by Prof David Ferguson on Renewable agriculture and Food system, this research expriement tallies greatly with my field of study and I did contact him through the department and he said he would love to have me as part of his research team when I arrive on campus, the school also has excellent research facilities like the four farm complexes equipped with the latest agricultural technology, the pullen farm and also the equine centre, the student faculty ratio is 16 to 1 and I know I would be impacted with a top quality education. (at this point he was looking at me critically, I starred back at him too)
VO; When did you finish?
ME; I graduated from the University of Agriculture in 2011
VO; Who will be paying for this?
ME; My dad
VO; What does he do?
ME; I said he is a professional agriculturist and also a mechanized farmer, He is the CEO of ×××××××××× Farms Ltd.
VO; said Mechanized farmer, he brings out the white paper and passes both white paper and i20 back to me and says your visa is granted, you can pick it up in one week, at this point my legs was shaking,

I jumped out elated, I just want to give all glory to God, the author and finisher of my faith, He showed me mercy yesterday, when I was on the que, I was so nervous, inspite of my confidence before we entered, when I entered the interview hall, I could hear my own breathing, I was just looking at how the blue form was been brandished right, left and centre and this made me more nervous, and suddenly i heard a voice speak inside me, called my name and said, i have completed the work for you, you can see the blue and white paper, its left for you to decide the one you want, be timid and take the blue one or be brave and grab the white one I have prepared for you. And that was when the courage came from the Almighty, I want to thank Him once again, He is an amazing father and I would serve Him for the rest of my life.

I hope this little piece will inspire others, To the other prospective students going for interviews, you will get it in Jesus name, its ok to be nervous, I was too, the main thing is to try and adjust yourself before getting to the VO, work hard, write the standerdized test, (even though I was not asked, I wrote both the GRE and TOEFL, no document was asked from me and God just glorified Himself in my life) and above all PRAY!

This thread is wonderful, I want to thank all the people that are contributing positively to this thread, you are all an amazing bunch, you inspire me, May joy never cease in your lives in Jesus name, to my good friend who was delayed yesterday, remember delay is not denial, fire back asap and with God on our side you will get it this time. To Master Jesus I just wanna say you are an amazing father!
congrats

Nsurg:
My interview took place at the US Embassy in Banjul, Gambia. I have worked here for the past 7 months in a research institution owned by the UK government. I was denied a visitors visa in Lagos last September to attend a conference. I have been reading the transcripts of other members of this forum starting from page one of part one over the past few weeks and I must show my appreciation to everyone who have contributed in one or the other to the forum. This is probably the best online resource for student visa interviews. But if you ask me what I consider the most important factor to a successful interview, I would say GOD. This is a highly subjective interview and the GOD factor is key judging from my experience and the experience of others here. So fast and pray hard, it works. Next on the list is confidence ( prayer gives confidence anyway) and then preparation. My interview went thus:

Me: Goodmorning with a smile
CO: goodmorning, smiles back
CO: where is your family?
Me: (*surprised by the question, wasnt really expecting that as the first question) In Nigeria
CO: Ok, what do u plan to study in the US? (* I already submitted my documents. You are requested to do so here during biometrics)
Me: masters in public health at the University of North Florida
CO: Did you apply to any other school? *checking his computer
Me: Yes, Harvard and John Hopkins
CO: *looks up and smiles (as if saying guy u get mind o). Were you admitted?
Me: No
CO: why do you think so?
Me: These schools are highly competitive and they receive thousands of applications every year and unfortunately they are not able to admit all qualified applicants
CO: *nods his head in agreement with me. So why this school?
Me: The program's course content and research areas emphasize the practice of public health in low resourced settings such as what we have in Nigeria and ....
CO: *cuts in(seems to have seen something on his system) Oh, you are a doctor.
Me: Yes
CO: where did you get your medical degree*while checking his system
Me: University of Benin, Nigeria
CO: where do you work?
Me: the medical research council(MRC) *it is quite a popular research institution here
CO: how long have you worked there?
Me: 7 months
CO: what is your specialty?
Me: I am a primary care physician
CO: Do you do any research?
Me: I work primarily as a medical officer in the clinical services department, but I also collaborate in researches done in the clinical ward
CO: what kind of research?
Me: clinical and public health research
CO: how will this degree help you with your work?
Me: it will give me an indepth understanding of research methodologies used in public health and...
CO: * cuts in (looking intensely at my I-20) how do you plan to pay?
Me: * being cautious about my reply because my I-20 said personal funds but financial documents included mine and my sis. ) A combination of personal savings and my sister
CO: How much do you earn monthly?
Me: 61, 000 dalasis (about N310, 000)
CO: is your sister in Nigeria?
Me: No, she is a Belgium based business woman but she goes to Nigeria from time to time
CO: Oh, Belgium! *seems excited (don't know his personal experience with Belgium) do you have another relative in Belgium?
Me: No, just her *my brother is there o, God forgive me.
Co: do you have any relative in the US? *checking his system
Me: No *with an who send US? look
CO: What are your plans after study in the US? *by this time he was typing on his system and I was already sensing victory
Me: I plan to return to the MRC here in the Gambia to gain some field experience in public health research and thereafter return to my home country Nigeria to work with the federal ministry of health
CO: How long is your appointment at MRC? *it is a fixed term appointment with opportunity for renewal
Me: 2yrs
CO: I can see you were denied a visa in Lagos last September, what happened?
Me: I was invited to attend a scientific conference by the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene and I was denied. It was a visitors visa (*so we be clear oga)
CO: *brings out a white paper and says: you would need this paper to pick up your visa at this address on ......
Me: smiles and says thank you

The CO had my documents in front of him all the while but never bothered to check them out except the I-20 and sevis payment. He seemed to be more interested in what I had to say than any documents I had to show. I prayed to God before the interview that any documents that will cause a denial would not be requested for and He answered! Bless God.

congrats

Preamble

My application was denied on April, 2015. Nervousness, inadequate preparation and an apparent error on the I-20 contributed to the refusal. I stammered from the first question to the last. The denial was a funny story because I have a valid B1/B2 visa (in fact I just returned from a vacation in the US) with previous visits to France, Germany, Netherlands and South Africa.

Fast forward to yesterday. I knew only God can give me a stress/anxiety free interview. So I fasted with prayer point on Divine Favour. I ended the fast at 3 when body no fit continue. lol.

Today

Got to the venue late this morning, the official at the confirmation table threatened to send me back for because I cited traffic as excuse for coming late. I just they look the guy.

I entered eventually around 9am. Joined the queue and started my prayer point declaration.

I got to the VO, he told me to hold on. Another guy, probably a new VO, came behind him and they discussed for about a minute.

VO: Please put your right fingers on the scanner….bla bla bla

Me: I complied

VO: Where have you traveled to?

Me: France, Germany, Netherlands, South Africa and the US

VO: Cuts in! So you have been to the US several times

Me: No. Just Once. This April

VO: What did you go for?

Me: Vacation.

VO: What do you do for work?

Me: I am a Bleep in an Bleep firm in Nigeria

VO: So why do you want to go to the US

Me: Going for graduate studies in Engineering

VO: Cuts in. Oh so you are going for school. I missed that. I didn’t check your documents well.

VO: How did you get the school and why Montana State

Me: I made research through usnews.com, gradstudy and google. I picked the school because it has a strong reputation in engineering and the courses in the department are structured with research demands in the the mineral industry.

VO: ok. How much do you earn?

Me: Whispered XXYYZZ

VO: How do you plan to fund your studies?

Me: I have some money saved up

VO: Looking concerned. Montana is a remote state in the US. Why did you pick a school in the state?

Me: I used some criteria during my search. School Reputation and Quality of the education and gbam, Montana came up. I actually said Gbam...lol

VO: Are you married

Me: No. Single

VO: Folded my passport and tossed me the I-20. Then said thanks for coming. You can pick up blab la bla

Me: Thank you Sir

Glory be to God in the highest for the wonderful thing He has done.
congrats

mhoo:
I just stumbled on this thread ystday (a day to my interview) n considering d fact that going through ppplez interview experiences helped calm my nerves a bit + NL has helped my previous struggles a lot, I decided to share my experience...

I was scheduled for 6:30am put I didn't arrive until past 7 ('cause of the accident on 3rd MLB)... I found favour n those verification guys dint really hassle me about my lateness.

VO (Fine dude): Good morning
ME: Good morning
(Passed him passport, ds160 confirmation n I-20)
VO: Why are you going to the US
ME: For my Masters

VO: What Subject?
ME: Religious Studies

VO: What did you study for undergrad?
ME: Same thing, Religious Studies

VO: When did you finish from Uni
ME: (erroneously said Jan 2010, then I corrected myself) Jan 2011

VO: What have you been doing since then?
ME: Did my NYSC and been working in a bank since 2013

VO: What do you want to do with your Masters?
ME: It is a bridge to where I'm going to (told him my actual career destination) which explains my concentration - Religion & Public engagement
(Then he types to about 1min n I'm busy praying for favour in my mind)

VO (Flips through my passport): Have you ever traveled outside Nigeria?
ME: Yes

VO: Where?
ME: Benin Republic n Liberia (then I'm thinking "hmmmm, is this the time to be louding that you have been to Liberia?"wink

VO: What did you go and do in Liberia?
ME: Went to witness the swearing in of President Sirleaf for 2nd term as part of an entourage for the state government I was working with then (during NYSC).
(Then the dude did plenty typing again o n i did my own silent prayer too)

VO: Are you married?
ME: No (I had initially planned to borrow my sister's engagement ring n complete this answer with I'm engaged to be married o... but I decided to be a proud omo Jesu n flaunt my single status)

VO: Got any kids?
ME: No
(Plenty typing followed again...then the musical, golden statement)

VO: Your Visa has been approved, you can pick up your passport at the circled location within a week (Passes me collection slip and my I-20)
ME: Thank you, Have a nice day!

I hope this helps calm someone's nerves! All the statements n letters I carried remained in my clear bag - not a mention of how I was gonna finance my education. Although I got a full tuition scholarship, I was still pretty freaked out about any issue being raised about my finances.

Goodluck and God's favour to all those coming behind!
(Forgive all typos... I refuse to proofread this my epistle)
congrats

Visa approved today in Abuja. 9am appointment. There was this black woman who was taking the interview like project defence. Someone said he was going to study information technology, she said he should explain the mechanism of the Internet. Oga come fall hand. She now aske him what he studied, Oga said Political Science, she said 'oh really, i studied political science". LMAO! <insert mortal kombat "Finish Him!">, who is your favorite political science author. Oga say na Aristotle. Lmho!

I missed her being interviewed by her by the whiskers. Thank God for everything, for my interview. It had to be God. I wasn't asked many questions.

Me: Good afternoon
Him: hey good afternoon, pass your documents
(Passes docs)

Him: I see you are going for studies, which course are you going for?
Me: Electrical Engineering
Him: where will you be studying?
Me: Howard University in Washington DC.
Him: why Howard?
Me: HU is research intensive and it caters to my area of interest Power Systems and Control
Him: is that what you did in your undergraduate study?
Me: yes
Him: where?
Me: calls my Nigerian undergraduate uni
Him: did you take GRE?
Me: hands over the test scores
Him: wow. Good.
Him: I see you've been to the US
Me: yes, was there for Christmas last year.
Him: yay! Good for you. Merry Christmas ( in my mind I was asking what's doing this man, biko)
Him: do you have financial aid?
Me: Yes. 35grand from my school
Him: who pays the rest of the 10 grand?
Me: I have some savings and my dad.
Him : what does your dad do?
Me: lists Father's occupation
Him: nice! good for your dad.
Types for 5minutes and I started praying in tongues quietly and asking in my mind what kind of essay is this man typing.
Your visa has been approved. Hands me collection form and Starts I-20 and POE lecture. End!

If you are going there , compose yourself and please pray, biko pray. Its not of him that willeth. I had some discrepancies in mY name, and in bank statement. I asked God to biko cover my errors, let them not ask me for any document. He did! Glory to God!
congrats

Like I Promised. Here is the transcript. She didn't waste time at all she went straight to business. VO was probably under supervision because her superior was by her side monitoring the interview.
12 inches: Good morning
VO: Good morning
VO: so you're going to Iowa state university of science and technology (ISU)
12 inches: Yes
VO: For what course?
12 inches: for an MSc in transportation Engineering
VO: Why ISU?
12 inches: ISU is a well ranked school involved in transportation engineering in the U.S. The Midwest transportation Centre which carries out transportation engineering research for the Midwestern states is located at ISU and ISU plays a lead role in transportation Engineering research for the Midwestern states and I believe this will help me proffer solutions to transport issues and challenges in Nigeria. The experience and exposure with a faculty with strong industry participation will really help my career.
VO:How did hear of ISU?
12 inches:Online through times higher education.com, Google usnews.com etc
VO:How many schools did u apply to?
12 inches : 4 ( in reality 5... I wanted her to believe only one school denied me admission but it was 2). So I began to name the schools and she cuts me short.
VO:So how many gave u admission?
12 inches: 3 out of 4
VO: So out of the the 3 why did u pick ISU?
12 inches: *I was already getting frustrated because she had asked that question before* So I began again that the faculty had strong exposrue and experience in transportation engineering research. They carry out research for the * she now cuts me short*
VO: You keep mentioning experience and exposure......
12 inches: Frankly Engineering is about experience and exposure and working as a graduate assistant there will give me this and help my career. There is no point re-inventing the wheel. Most of the transportation issues we face in Nigeria have already been surmounted in the U.S and I bliv there is a lot to learn frm the lecturers at ISU in solving transportation issues in Lagos.
VO: * her supervisor now smiling* Why is that u picked a school in the Midwest and not *VO cuts herself short.
When did you graduate?
12 inches: 2011
VO: What have u been doing since then?
12 inches: I work as an engineer in so and so with so and so roles. I have also worked in so and so as a ****** engineer.
VO: Who will be paying your fees?
12 inches: I have a graduate assistantship, tuition scholarship and stipends that shud cover all my estimated expenses. My brother is also willing to provide for any additional expenditure that may arise during my course of study
VO: What does your broda do?
12 inches: He is a **** engineer in *****.
VO: Come and pick ur visa at this location I have circled
She didn't give me much details after abt where to pick it. She already knows me I'm a la cram la pour student. Whatever she asks I av prepared answers to.
12 inches: Thank you very much.

I want to Thank God, thank my parents my siblings,My fiancée, the NL family, walspring slimmy, etc you know yourself. All those who av made this possible. This thread has been so educative.
My advice to anyone with dreams to study in the u.s. Keep at it regardless. You will get discouragement from ur family and even your closest friends as regards ow costly and how impossible it is. But if it is God will for you to go, he will make a way and nobody can stop him.

Congrats

Hello house, il love to share my transcript. Am sorry it's coming late. Been occupied with work. Had it on the 22nd of June, 2015. It goes like this...
My interview was scheduled for 6.30 am Walter Carrington. I got to the embassy exactly 6am. We waited till 6.30 before the process finally started with the screenings. I was told to go and take another passport that the one I had wasn't so clear. This got me disorganised BT I was determined to stay calm and focus. Finally after the queue it was about 8.30 when it got to my turn..
V.o: Hello good morning
Me: good morning with a smile on my face
V.o: so what are you goin to do in the US
Me: am goin for a masters degree in clinical psychology
V.o: how many schools did you apply to?
Me: 5 schools
V.o: can you list the schools
Me: university of pennysylvania, Emory university, western kenturcky university, Eastern Illinois University, San Diego state university, and Montana state university
V.o: so why did u pick the eastern illinois university
Me: The curriculum aligns with what I want. The class ratio is 16:1, this gives me better access to my professors and Charleston is a pretty safe town.
V.o: can u tell me what the curriculum entails?
Me: it's 1 year course work and 1 year internship which gives you both the classroom and real life experience.
V.o: So who is funding this program
Me: I got a full tuition waiver and a graduate assistantship position which attracts a good monthly stipend.
V.o: congratulation u can pick up ur visa a week from now cos of some technical problems
Me: Thank you with a smile on my face.
Il like to thank everyone on this thread. Av learnt so much from you guys. I kept on reading through people transcript on this thread while at the embassy bfr we got in. It really helped. I really hope this transcript would help someone. I wrote both Gre and toefl. . GRE .. verbal 156, QA 162... Toefl 102. Thanks Peeps!
