fergie001: Rivers women protest, thank Tinubu for State of Emergency proclamation (Photos)
Funny enough most of these women are not from Rivers State.
The return of Fubara will be brutal. Just watch out. Wike has shown what he and Federal Government can do, but be reassured that version 2.0 is loading.

Racoon: The japa thing is just a social, economic & generational slavery trap that the white imperialists set for the black world especially Africa, Asia and other third world country. It is simply neo-colonialism reincarcerated. This is why I have reservations about it

Akerele44: Formerly impeached Lagos state speaker MUDASHIRU OBASA is warming up his biological son as the next AGEGE LOCAL GOVT COUNCIL CHAIRMAN. The party faithful of MANDATE and JUSTICE FORUM are now saying that they can’t serve father and son that no room for his son that doesn’t even attend a single ward meeting
Is he not a citizen? Though I'm not any party faithful but being a citizen of Nigeria, the guy is free to contest for any position so long as the election is free and fair.
They accused a former Local Government Chairman of offering a ₦200m bribe and overseas relocation for their cooperation.
Four persons who were previously detained in connection with the fire incident at the Rivers State House of Assembly have raised fresh allegations, claiming they are being pressured to alter their original statements to implicate Edison Ehie, the Chief of Staff to the suspended Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara.
They are Chime Ezebalike, Kenneth Kpasa, Oladele Lukman, and MacPherson Olumini who were in November last year acquitted of the charges after about six months in Kuje Correctional Facility.
At a press briefing in Port Harcourt on Monday, Ezebalike said they were recently contacted by a prominent PDP leader in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area to revise their narrative.
Three of the four acquitted suspects consented to appear on camera during the press briefing.
According to them, the request was linked to a wider political scheme, allegedly aimed at corroborating claims made in a press briefing by former Head of Service, George Nwaeke, in Abuja.
“We were asked to rewrite our story and falsely name Edison Ehie as the mastermind of the Assembly fire. This is after everything we have been through. We cannot be part of any nefarious plot, especially not after the trauma we endured,” he said.
They said the crime for which they were framed and now want them to rope Edison include the Assembly fire, the gruesome murder of Bako Angbashim, a DPO in the Ahaoda Area, and an alleged assassination attempt on the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Martins Amaewhule.
They narrated their harrowing six-month ordeal in the hands of security agents and political figures, beginning in December 2023.
I dey suspect that Chidi Lloyd. Na him fit do this one or that big headed ishi Samuel Nwanosike
Quarterpast: I understand that during heat periods, ones pubic part tends to itch terribly after shaving.
Before I shaved, I had itches. I thought it was the hair that was causing this, so I decided to get a shaving stick(BIC shaving stick) and cleared the bush. But sadly, after shaving my armpits and pubic region, the itching got worse. I am a very hairy type. I have lots of hair on my scrotum sac, sometimes the hair covers the entire sac. The itching has now become so terrible and uncomfortable to me that when it starts, I begin to scratch uncontrollably. I've injured myself on the sac as a result of over-scratching. I can be walking on the road and in a public place, when it starts, I can't help but begin to scratch. The armpit doesn't itch, but the sac. Doctors in the house, please help me🙏🙏.
So u are supporting a governor that demolished house of assembly but I can bet it that if Tinubu demolished senate building u won't b saying all this
Do you see yourself as being normal? No. Even a slowpoke is worst than you. Because no reasonable person who lives in Nigeria at this present time will be this stupid.
Sometimes, we need to take responsibility for our actions and inactions. The other day I saw this guy on tiktok and one question that crossed my mind was what was he doing on tiktok? Is it to elicit pity or to give insights into his inactions that contributed to his wife's death? We don't really need to blame government for everything neither should we blame doctors and nurses all the time, these people make sacrifices too and you dont be surprised that they either don't get paid on time or they are owned and they have families too. While it is advisable not to advise a man to reduce the number of children to bring into this world when you can't fend for them or provide when there are emergency situations such as this, some people need to reason too. Think about your children and also think about your wife. Just #500,000 cost the ladies life and the man is busy making contents instead of sitting down to think how he also contributed to her death. Pregnant women are prone to have issues during pregnancy and if you must get your wife pregnant you need to be ready financially, he should stop passing the blame to doctors and nurses alone and also blame himself.
Islie: "For the avoidance of doubt, I have never visited Senator Elisha Abbo at his house or anywhere. Up to this moment, I do not know where he lives. I have never discussed with him about his case, or any case pending or decided by any court of law in Nigeria."
Ken Nnamani had one of the best senators in the history of Nigeria but Akpabio reduced our Senate to a clique of men who only are interested in the movements of a woman's waist.
NewDigitalWorld: The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, has assured that corps members who have recently completed their service year will not be left out of the N77,000 monthly allowance recently approved by the Federal Government.
Nafiu gave this assurance on Thursday during the Batch A 2025 Pre-Mobilisation Workshop for heads of corps-producing institutions and key stakeholders in Abuja.
PUNCH Online reports that the Federal Government had, last month, commenced disbursement of the new allowance to serving corps members — nearly eight months after President Bola Tinubu signed the new minimum wage into law.
Addressing journalists at the event, Nafiu said the government remained committed to its financial obligations to corps members.
“The government is quite conscious of its promise and within the budgetary provision, the government is going to handle that,” Nafiu said.
“Once funds are released to us to offset the arrears, we will pay them. Even our corps members who passed out recently will benefit. Once we receive cash backing for the arrears, we are going to credit them; we have their bank details.
Nigerians should not fret about that because the government is both responsible and responsive to their needs”, he added.
Meanwhile, the Director of Corps Mobilisation, Mohammed Abubakar, raised concerns about the integrity of the mobilisation process, citing instances where tertiary institutions had uploaded names of unqualified individuals for service.
“We have made remarkable progress in recent years, greatly reducing challenges, thanks to innovative approaches and better collaboration. However, we still face serious issues, particularly concerning the fraudulent uploading of unqualified graduates, which we must address,” Abubakar said.
“As we prepare for another batch of NYSC mobilisation, we must confront the pressing issues affecting our corps members. This process is vital for our nation’s growth, but it is fraught with challenges, especially the ongoing problem of dishonest enrollments. We must therefore stay alert and be proactive”, he added.
Also speaking at the event, the Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, called for reforms in the NYSC scheme, aligning with the Tinubu administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Olawande stated, “I remember when the scheme was created in 1973. It was for a purpose. Everything since then has changed. We must therefore reform the scheme to meet our changing society,” he said.
“As Nigeria improves, we must continue to improve the scheme to meet demands. We must address the gaps in how the scheme will prepare our graduates for the job market. Let us reshape the process to meet the demands of the labour market.
“Reforming the NYSC mobilisation is not the job of the government alone. It is a collaborative effort. We can build an NYSC that is adaptive, inclusive and will serve our future generations.”
See them, they are not here for any legislative meeting, most of them keep their girlfriends for London, some dey school, some no dey do anything. Pot bellied politicians, State is being messed up and they are happy. Some of them have been in the Assembly for almost 20years yet there's nothing to show for it than carrying young girls upandan, that's where their constituency allocations go to.

Anambra people should reject this evil party for their own good. APC is a league of evil men who have come together to unleash mayhem on good governance, like I said, Anambra people should reject this evil party.
Kosiso12: Uncertainty Looms Over Rivers as Wike-Fubara Peace Deal Stalls | #Politicsnigeria
The political crisis rocking Rivers State shows no sign of ending as efforts to reconcile Governor Siminalayi Fubara and Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, have stalled, two weeks after a peace committee was proposed by the National Assembly.
Recall that following heightened tension in the state, President Bola Tinubu in March declared a state of emergency, leading to the six-month suspension of Governor Fubara, Deputy Governor Ngozi Odu, and all state legislators. Vice-Admiral Ibok Ibas (rtd) was immediately appointed as Sole Administrator.
Although the National Assembly quickly approved the President’s request, both chambers suggested the formation of a committee to mediate between the warring factions before the suspension period lapses. However, no significant action has been taken toward initiating the peace process.
According to sources in Port Harcourt, the capital city of the state, reconciliation is being hampered by the role some prominent Ijaw and Rivers leaders played during the crisis.
“Those that should have led us out of the woods this time around took sides in the crisis. They lack the credibility to call the two parties to a roundtable,” an insider said.
The source noted that many Ijaw leaders openly supported Governor Fubara while casting aside Wike, further deepening the divide. He also criticized former President Goodluck Jonathan and other groups for allegedly abandoning their neutral roles.
“Former President Goodluck Jonathan, who should have led the peace talks at this time, was pushed to side with Governor Fubara in the crisis,” he said. “The Ijaw National Congress (INC), led by Prof. Benjamin Okaba, disappointed the Ijaw through its obvious partiality in the matter. Prof. Okaba did not help matters at all.”
He added, “You remember that all the elders in Rivers are already divided into Wike’s or Fubara’s elders. These are people that should have risen to the occasion at this point, but they no longer command the respect that can foster genuine reconciliation. As it stands, there is nothing visible being done to kick-start any reconciliation.”
President of the Ijaw Youths Council (IYC) Worldwide, Jonathan Lokpobiri, also expressed disappointment over the handling of the crisis by some Ijaw leaders.
“I can, with all sense of responsibility and conviction, state that if we had applied wisdom in the management of this crisis in Rivers, we would not be where we are today,” Lokpobiri said. “Instead of using wisdom in matters we can nip in the bud, we chose to threaten war that we were not prepared for.”
He continued, “People speak carelessly in an attempt to put an ethnic group into a war that is avoidable. For those who threatened fire and brimstone, the war came but I didn’t hear their voices anymore. We must be wise in prosecuting the struggles of the Niger Delta.”
While reaffirming support for Fubara to complete his term, Lokpobiri stressed that emotional reactions have no place in critical political disputes. “Sometimes wisdom is stronger than the arms we think we have gathered,” he said. “If we had solved this problem internally as we advised earlier, we wouldn’t get to this embarrassing moment of a state of emergency.”
On his part, Kennedy Tonjo-West, President of the Movement for Izon Ethnic Nationality Development (MOSIEND), said his group had maintained neutrality throughout the crisis and is now ready to help initiate peace efforts.
“I am already undertaking some consultations so that the process of reconciliation can start on time. We want Rivers to return to a process of reconciliation without any delay,” he said.
Wike and Fubara have remained at odds since the 2023 general elections, despite Wike’s earlier support for the governor.
Meanwhile, Governor Fubara has since returned to his private residence in Port Harcourt, while most suspended lawmakers, many of them loyalists of Wike, are reportedly abroad on holiday.
Chilipepper: Meet A PhD Holder Who Is A Cleaner At EBSU And Still Earns 70,000 Naira Only According to Godfrey Chikwere, "Izzi big men, this is one of your brothers with PhD earning 70,000 a month in EBSU." "In my quest to get assistance for Ebsu students at the Presco campus of the University because of the increasing spate of r@pe and robbery at that campus. I ran into this guy's case, he is a PhD holder in Mathematics Education earning less than 70,000 per month in EBSU. This guy's case should be an embarrassment to any Izzi man he approached for assistance but they turned him down. His case should be a shame to EBSU as a whole. This is Dr Enyi onyebuchi Paul From Ikelegu ishieke in Ndiabor community of Ebonyi LGA, Ebonyi state. He got a job at Ebonyi State University in the year 2007 as a cleaner/Messenger. He struggled to see himself through a university education in the same school to the level of PhD in 2022. Since then, they have refused to convert him to an academic staff. EBSU should have converted this man and used him as a reference point for hard work, but he has no one who knows someone who knows another person. He is still a cleaner with a PhD. Under the immediate V.C., six persons from outside the University were allegedly employed in the department he is qualified to work from, but they can't simply convert him. Reason, he knows no one at the top. He has met two principal officers to the current Governor from Izzi and a commissioner, and none of them could help. He can't even get a job elsewhere because he knows no one at the top. Summary of his journey: B. SC. 2013 M SC. 2017 Ph. D. 2022. Generally, if Izzi people don't take advantage of these four or eight years, the four or eight years will take advantage of them."
OLAADEGBU: In an exclusive interview with SaharaReporters, Ashekun, who spent nearly 20 years in the church and served as a minister, shared her disturbing experiences.
You see this generation ehh, if you no guard your wife either Pastor or Landlord or friend or marriage counsellor go Bleep am.
Seun: I had a long phone chat with an old friend of mine who I previously had a public falling out with. We agreed to disagree about religion and family life, and promised each other not to allow our differences of opinion to be a stumbling block to our friendship anymore.
We also committed to doing business together. I will buy a beautiful duplex from his company and consult them when I need to travel. He will buy 7.5% of Nairaland at a very attractive valuation and become a director of our company so that we can benefit from his vast experience.
It feels so good to be on good terms again! I urge you to follow our example if you're currently not on good terms with any old friend.
Nairaland used to be a happy place until Seun was compromised in 2023.
