9 points clear of TBOOGIE in H2H. . . Can I have the first trophy now? cheesy

With just 11 games left, I need to start taking a few gambles to usurp the bastardos in the classic league.

The decision to loan out Benayoun is looking like a bad bit of bidniz for Chelsea now. Surely he could've added some much needed guile to the lethargic play we've been witnessing.

stop arguing like a numbskull. . . .van persie leading the whole league in assists was because of his obscene amount of corner-kicks and indirect freekicks he floats in. how many of those assists came from open play?
Mr Mumu, how many goals did he assist from set-pieces? Was RvP the only player that took set-pieces that season or what rubbish are you trying to say?

you said van persie has always been a good striker. i said no. . .he hasn't always been good and i have brought out names of other forwards better than van persie in the seasons i listed.
Say we "assume" your list is accurate, how does other players being good stop Van Persie from being good as well? Messi is the best player in the world, does that mean he is the only good player?

ronaldo never played as a striker. rooney often found himself on the flank as well.
dirk kuyt, robinho, anelka, etc have all had to play on the flank to accommodate strikers in their team so what's the excuse?
And how many goals do Kuyt and co score playing from the wing? You think it's coincidence Anelka's highest scoring season was mainly as a center forward?

stop bothering yourself about what van persie coulda, woulda, shoulda done and concentrate on what he has done.
by the same token, owen hargreaves is the best defensive midfielder on the planet. the only time he completed a full season, he won the european double for his team. if he was fit in 08/09, 09/10, 10/11, united would have won 3 back to back champions league titles.
only criminally idiotic fellows reason like that.
You are a BIG F00L! I never said RvP would've done anything, YOU are the one that accused him of not doing something and i reminded you he never had the opportunity to do it, therefore you cannot castigate him for not doing it. It's like me saying your unborn children are deaf and dumb because they cannot speak or listen from your scrotum! grin grin grin grin grin

arsenal are shyte. . . .the weakest team in the top four with van persie being the best of the lot, how won't he score obscene amount of goals @ arsenal?
the closest player to van persie on the scorer's chart is theo walcott with 5 league goals and van persie has 25 goals. he gets the lion share cos he's the only decent striker arsenal have got.

let's look at other clubs. grin
rooney(18), chicharito(-cool berbatov(7), welbeck(6)
aguero(16), dzeko(13),  balotelli(11), silva(5)
adebayor(11) defoe(9) bale(9)

once you have a situation where the top scorer in a club has scored 5 times as much as the 2nd top scorer, then there's a crisis.
even in 09/10 when rooney was on a scoring spree before he did his own ankle in munich, he scored 26 goals and berbatov copped 12 league goals.
van persie scores that much because there's no other striker that would eat into his ration of goals.
You are a blunt tool. Arsenal play with one striker, who has just happened to feature in every game to date(automatically meaning the other strikers haven't played much), it's perfectly normal for him to outscore the wingers/midfielders by a big margin especially when he's doing better than every other striker in the league as well. Silva has the same number of goals as Walcott. Apart from Bale(who is still way behind RvP) the only players on your list to have outscored Walcott are all strikers(unfortunately for my fingers i have to remind you Arsenal play with one striker).

Messi has 43 goals this season, the closest player to him at Barca should be Cesc with 15 or 16. Using your daft analogy Messi is "the only decent forward" Barca have and they are "in crisis", lololol.

ronaldo scored a brace at highbury @ the age of 19(invincible era of arsenal)
no united fan would tell you he had a good season all because of that.
the lack of trophies has made you gooners celebrate mediocrity
You ask me a question about RvP scoring at "hostile grounds", i remind you he scored a brace at Chelsea previously and you come back to type this nonsense? huh

for every good goal van persie has scored, wayne rooney has scored 3 times more. name it. . . .volley, headers, benders, chipping the goalie, etc.
Has Agbonlahor changed his name to Rooney? huh

even with that, i would not say rooney has been class in all his seasons at united. he's had stinkers in several seasons.
Of course, RvP never went 10 or is it twelve months without scoring a goal from open play as you're always keen to remind Dayokanu in defense of El Hoho! grin grin grin

8.5/10 and he never made the premier league team of the season.  are you high on shekpe?
How many minutes did he play? Didn't he make YOUR team of the season or has your brains hdd crashed?

who's doing this rating? as a winger, ronaldo, giggs, pedersen, kuyt, david bentley, james milner and aaron lennon were all better.
as a striker, drogba, mccarthy, viduka, rooney, doyle, bent, etc were better.
And who did THIS rating!!??

go n dig up any quotes of mine that had me creaming myself over van persie in 06/07.
van persie? you must be ultra-high.
I'll send Debosky cheesy

ronaldo that won player of the season in 06/07 won't even get 8.5/10. he would get 8(max)!
Funny, cos that was the same season Sharon declared Ronaldo the best player in the EPL/multiverse. If the best player in the league was 8/10, then the EPL must be shyte and all the other players should commit suicide.

Yet another flaming eediot outs himself as a block-head! grin grin

So you ran to wherever to get top-scorers chart and noticed RvP was missing and came here to type this nonsense without asking yourself why he wasn't there?

07/08: Only 13 starts, scored 7 goals from a withdrawn role, are you on crack?

08/09: Just 24 starts in the hole behind Adebayor, playing ostensibly as an attacking midfielder, had a better goal-ratio than Rooney who made the top-ten. Also made the most number of assists.

09/10: Started just 14 games and scored 9 goals, one of the best ratios in the league. You must be a lunatic to even mention this season.

In case y'all missed the memo, RvP boasts the best goal-ratio in Premier League history since he actually started playing as a striker(09/10) with 52 goals in roughly 59 games(about 5375 minutes). *Obviously excluding players who haven't played a sufficient number of games e.g Pogrebnyak.

i gave you a list of seasons van persie was utter w@nk and you are here bringing youtube goals and telling us he's arsenal's best striker.
what a cobweb you have in your cranial cavity. rodallega is wigan's best striker now means he's being good? my comparison is against the whole league, you are clutching at him being the best striker at arsenal. . . .how many decent strikers have arsenal got that van persie won't be the best there?
Dont be a tool. First of all, i said he was Arsenal's best PLAYER, and that was  based on his performance in a PARTICULAR season(08/09), when he also led the whole league in assists. Secondly, Arsenal have been a top-four side since before they even signed Van Persie, so even if your comparison is against the whole universe, it doesn't matter. Lastly, every single team in the league, including the very worst side, will probably have their best player performing at a minimum of 7.5 or 8/10. e.g Rodallega's best season in a Wigan shirt was at least 8/10 and most of the top clubs were linked with him. Any way we look at it, you are blowing hot air.

compare van persie to the strikers in the league back then not what he was doing at arsenal.

04/05. . . .henry, andy johnson, yakubu, rooney, defoe were all better.
05/06. . . .henry, ruud, bent, keane, rooney were better.

06/07. . . . drogba, rooney, berbatov, bent, mccarthy and even mido stole the shine.
08/09. . . . .anelka, torres, rooney, robinho and bent still outclassed van persie.
Mugu, why will we compare RvP with strikers when he almost never played as a striker in those seasons? In any case i never said he was the best striker/player, i only said he performed well in those seasons. Are you are trying to invent a rule that states if player A B C & D played well, player E must be "utter w@ank"?

van persie has never made epl's team of the season ever before.
Because Van Persie has made 20 EPL starts just ONCE before this season. Last year he played half-a-season and almost won the golden boot. This year he's already run away with it, they might as well hand him the trophy now.

it's one thing to be brilliant in arsenal(they are full of shyte anyways) but it's another thing to be dominant in the league.
Yet again you expose your severe lack f common sense. Let's even assume Arsenal are shyte, is it not a massive indictment of you unrivaled stupidity you think it's easier to shine in a shyte team than a good one? Will Messi be scoring 50 goals a season if you stick him in Wigan or Bolton?

of van persie's 8 seasons in england, this season has been his best . . . . .apart from his obvious number one position on the scorer's charts, he has been able to do it in hostile away grounds. something he never did in seasons past.
How many minutes has he copped at these hostile grounds and what position did he play? Answers on a postcard please!

I remember him scoring a brace at Stamford bridge that put one of the final nails in Scolari's coffin, funny!

if i grab agbonlahor's videos on youtube n paste them here, you would pee in your pants.
Go and grab it. . . Youtube may not necessarily tell you the overall quality of a player but it can show you his abilities. Does Agbonlahor score goals like this on Youtube?

RvP's performance in 06/07 was 8.5/10, 8 at very least, you can quote me anywhere. Speaking of quotes, maybe i should dig up your posts from the 06/07 team of the season thread where you were creaming yourself over RvP's sterling performances on the left-wing, only to come here 5 years later to feign ignorance. van persie was utter w@nk these seasons and you wouldn't put him in the top 5 strikers in the league at any time throughout these 4 seasons.
Hehehehe, this is the dumbest shit I've ever read.

04/05: Used sparingly, still showed many flashes of brilliance when called upon. Injury ended his season prematurely. 7.5/10

06/07: More injury woes, still managed to finish as Arsenal's top-scorer despite playing a lot on the left wing. Your brain must be in cyclic redundancy to be listing 06/07 as an "utter w@nk" season for RvP when i vividly recall this same mugu called Coogar aka Jackal naming RvP in his team of the season that year. Also scored the most ridiculous volley in Premier League history. 8.5/10

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWzYjybKkhk[/flash]

08/09: Arsenal's player of the season. Dazzled week in week out with some of the most brilliant in-the-hole displays English football will ever see. You must be absolutely mad for suggesting he was anything short of spectacular that season. 9/10

Andre Villas-Boas has been sacked by Chelsea after the 1-0 defeat to West Brom.

A statement read: "Andre Villa-Boas has parted company with Chelsea Football Club today. The board would like to record our gratitude for his work and express our disappointmentthat the relationship has ended so early.

"Unfortunately the results and performances of the team have not been good enough and were showing no signs of improving at a key time in the season.

"The club is still competing in the latter stages of the Uefa Champions League and the FA Cup, as well as challenging for a top-four spot in the Premier League, and we aim to remain as competitive as possible on all fronts.

"With that in mind we felt our only option was to make a change at this time. With immediate effect Roberto Di Matteo has been appointed first team coach on an interim basis until the end of the season."

Anyways, I'm glad nuccahs who think RvP started playing well yesterday are finally outing themselves as soccer illiterates. FYIz, RvP's worst performance in an Arsenal shirt is circa 7.5/10, and that was his debut season(04/05) @ 20-21. The only problems he had were his temperament(first season in particular) and not having enough time to prove himself because of injuries. It's not a coincidence he received universal acclaim the very first time he's managed to stay fit for a year.

Olodo, everyone and their grandma knows RvP was mainly a left winger at Feyenoord.

cesc was hardly fit last season. i could count the number of games cesc came in as a substitute and was later substituted.

Van Persie was a winger at Feyenoord and most of his time there was as a teenager. He still managed 22 goals in two seasons despite his beef with Van Marwijk and limited game-time. Tell me how many goals other teenage wingers are scoring.

ohh please. . .spare me these excuses.
How many goals does Iker Casillas score? Please don't give any lame excuses like him being a goalie and all!

cesc was perma-crocked last season, hombre.
arsenal had adjusted to playing without cesc since last season. . . .robin van persie started leading the line in a 4-2-3-1/4-3-3 formation.
OK, so Arsenal built the team around RVP even when Cesc was fit? What sort of rubbish postulation is this? I'm sure in the games Cesc played his goal-ratio must have been even better considering the superior service tongue

add obscene number of penalties/freekicks to it and his goal haul is a no brainer.
Off the top of my head he scored two penalties(away to West Ham/home to Liverpool) and one free-kick(away to Birmingham). I don't know how you arrive at these asinine conclusions.

torres is faster.
@ liverpool, torres was breezing past defenders like they weren't even there.
Your word versus mine/Castrol Index cheesy  Torres isn't quicker than RvP.

don't confuse bendtner with van persie.
van persie has only scored 3 league goals with his head in his entire career in england spanning 8 seasons.
torres has scored 9 league goals with his head in england. van persie had been in england for 4 seasons before torres joined him.
my friend, it's a no brainer.
Link? In any case this is not sufficient evidence to pass judgement.

he leads the line. this sorta stuff is expected.
And what does Torres do? Mislead the line? grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin

the creativity has to be abandoned to his wingers(walcott/arshavin/gervinho) and he must get in the box to finish off the low/high crosses.
united fans also complained about ronaldo's play in his final moments @ man utd. he became a goal-getter and abandoned his overall play.

now that is the difference between torres who plays with greedy wingers and van persie who plays with intelligent team-mates.
torres in van persie's shoes would have scored plenty of goals cos walcott n gervinho would find him with good passes.
a striker is as potent as his supporting cast!
Hehehe, Walcott must have morphed into Garrincha with all these "good passes", "creativity", and "intelligence"(i thought he had no football-brain), lolol. Is Mata(who you claim is better than Silva, the most creative player in the league) selling kolanut?

Messi, Ronaldo(the two most exceptional players of their generation), and who else? Were Messi and Ronaldo injured for 4-6 months every season?

when has van persie played deeper for arsenal?
Before Adebayor left(pre 09/10), RvP ALWAYS played in the hole/on the flanks.

the only difference is in the previous seasons, the team was built around cesc fabregas.
last season and this season, arsenal revamped their strategy and built the team around robin. everyone in the team looks for him in the final third and he gets into the box to finish off from crosses and smart inter-plays.
Nonsense analysis. Cesc was at the club last season when RvP was averaging a goal a game.

finishing was the only ability torres had over van persie in torres' prime?
you should be locked up with ibori.

torres had raw pace, acceleration, aerial prowess, positioning and finishing.
you might have to look for his clips again on youtube to see the kind of goals torres was scoring.
he's miles better than van persie in virtually everything apart from ball controlling techniques.
Which dirty pace/acceleration? RvP is what they call "deceptively quick", don't be fooled by his somewhat lanky appearance. I remember looking at the stats from the 2006 WC and Euro 2008, RvP was in the top-five players in terms of the highest speeds clocked.

EDIT: He was actually in the top two from Euro 2008: A fact. Robin van Persie is the second-fastest player at Euro 2008, reaching a top speed of 31.53km/h in the group stages.

Can't seem to find the World Cup link.

Aerial prowess: the few times Arsenal have managed to get decent aerial delivery he's proved he's more than capable of scoring with his head. Torres isn't exactly prolific here either. Off the top of my head I'm pretty sure he wins more aerial duels than Torres.

Positioning: Don't make me laugh. When i mentioned RvP dumbing-down his game it was partly because of the obscene amount of tap-ins he's been scoring by getting himself into "right place at the right time" situations,  If he were a Hernandez-type player you woulda been creaming yourself over his "unbelievable movement", maybe you don't notice cos he doesn't strike you as the sort of player.

I've already discussed finishing, and some of what you've listed aren't even "skills" per se. When you look at the core skills of football like passing, technique, crossing, first-touch, dead-balls, ball-control, dribbling, etc, RvP murks Torres in every single department, and i seriously doubt he learned all those skills after his 28th birthday.

Coogar yarning dust as per usual. RvP didn't score a dozen league goals till he was 27 is stewpid talk cos A. He hardly played as a striker until 2009-2010. B. He was always injured, never even played a full season.

Only soccer illiterates think RvP started playing well last year or "when he turned 28". You won't find ANY season where RvP hasn't been brilliant for Arsenal despite his fitness issues, and he's been at the club for like 8 years. It's a shame he had to start breaking goal-scoring records(simply because he's fit/playing higher up the pitch) for ignoramuses like Coogar and Dayokanu to rate him. In fact you can't even compare the quality of goals he's scoring now to the ones he was scoring 5-8 years ago when it seemed every other goal he scored was a wonder-goal. If anything, he's actually dumbed-down his game to adapt to his "new" role.

Finally, even when Torres was in his prime, the only ability he had over RvP was finishing, and RvP has since proven to be an exceptional finisher as well. That said, there's not a single skill in football RvP doesn't execute better than Torres. Rant over.

^^ First comment:

Can't authoritatively say, but i'd pick "Little" Bergkamp, he scores freekicks too.
RvP has ALWAYS had more ability than Torres, na today? tongue

From the early trailers i was expecting Asura's Wrath to be a run-of-the-mill hack n slasher/button masher. But apparently a lot of the gameplay is QTE-based. Someone called the game a 10-hour cut-scene! cheesy

Reviews have been mixed/"above-average ".

There are no "LED TVs". The LED only applies to the back-light technology used. In other words, "LED TV" = LCD TV with LED BACK-LIGHTING instead of CCFL, which only improves trivial/pedantic stuff. Picture-quality wise, it's the same TFT technology utilized by "regular" LCDs.

Don't be deceived by Sony, LG, etc deceptive advertising!!! grin grin grin
