KayDawodu: It's good we have people wading in now. This is my first time commenting on here after following the thread since early last year and I can absolutely tell you Robonski gave me new motivation to get back into this business. I contacted him from the very first day I got my stock last year and he gave me great insight. Water management and feeding technique and brand(Zeigler) I've also learnt a lot from other posters on here but I can't name them all(too many to count). Free feed formula, free consultation and so on. What I'm trying to establish is simple; I don't believe Robonski is a bad person but I am almost certain his good will is being taken advantage of. Having said all that, I'd like to chip in. I ordered for juveniles on 5th of January and I have to say, it's been a wild, hard ride for me. I got so excited about the Dutch F3, I got my parents in on it. Although my dad showed a lot of skepticism, mainly because I had to pay upfront and it was into the farm manager's account, my mum was very much excited as I was. To cut the long story short, After 15 days, I got fingerlings that looked like post fries with about 34 mortalities, after waiting the whole day. I immediately contacted soft to complain about the size, mortality and the fact I didn't get 1 single fish extra. He apologized but questioned why I had to count the fish immediately they brought them. He promised to refund the balance of the fingerlings(6000 naira) with 100 extra fingerlings to make up for the mortality but took a lot longer than I expected. I had to tell him to forget about the extra fingerlings. The amount of mortality I've experienced is unprecedented. I've been in this business for quite a while and it's never been this bad. I would have assumed full responsibility if this was my first culture period. I've never had to use antibiotics and multivitamins before until now. All that is neither here nor there. As for the feed, I have to say, I'm glad I didn't introduce any other farmers to it. I struggled with it for 4 days before deciding to switch to foreign feed. The mistake I made was going back to the gelatin feed. It may have worked for some people but I have to be honest, it's not worth the trouble. Pollution is a major setback, the fish looked like they stagnated and I'm surprised I didn't stop using it earlier than I did. I complained to Robonski but he asked me to keep using it and that he also uses it on his farm and he gets marvelous results. Before then, I had contacted some people that used it and they had all stopped using it because they were not getting results. I wasn't too keen on saying anything publicly(except for the Agricnetwork thread I opened, which was a bit light on information) but the way Soft treats complaints is really poor. You cant always blame the farmer for poor farming practices after they bought fish and feed from you. Getting on the defensive and arguing with the customer won't help your business one bit. You have to assume some kind of responsibility. As for those suggesting we are trying to sabotage his efforts or calling us "vagabonds", it's a tad unfair and an insult to other people's intelligence. We complained because we bought fish and feed from Soft and have used it. Why would anybody want to bring him down when we are not offering an alternative to his products? He needs to sort out the problem and apologise to those affected. In fact, I had every intention of buying the new floating feed they're selling now but after this weekend's outbursts and behavior on Soft's part, I have decided to look elsewhere for my feed/formula. Its so sad hearing about your story with the feed, i remember the last time we chatted about some issues you were having using the feed.I want to use this medium to apologise to the affected farmers that didn't get a good result using the magnet feed. it really hurts me to see those i mentored talk about their displeasure about the feed.. it saddens me to read about issues some farmers earlier while using the feed. I remember we had some glitch on one particular batch of feed the pelleted feed. But we will keep improving on the feed until we get the desired result. A new version of the feed is out which is the new improved floating feed which we took a drastic step to ensure the feed passes all quality parameters. People have started using the improve version and the feedback has been remarkable so far.
Concerning the customer service i am sorry to hear about your ordeal, though i am not directly in charge of it,i can't handle that coupled with questions i receive daily.. we have the whatsapp customers forum handled by someone else. i will have a good look into that section. I have been an advocate of transparency in fish farming business and i will never deter from it. Once again to those that where affected(lost money, time, resources) because of the feed, Robonski is deeply sorry about it, no words can adequately do justice to how i am deeply sorry about your plight. If i have envisaged a problem like this will arise because of me i would have renege from it, but we are all striving hard to achieved a common goal which making profit in fish business.
I want to say a big thank you to the many individuals that has been sending me messages all day to encourage me, i do appreciate your deportment. |

Hello everyone, i just read about the experience some individuals encountered while using the Gelatin feed, If you rightly used a feed with all best management in place from good seed, water management, good stocking density etc and the result was poor desist from using the feed. i have in some occasion used some feed that was poor and i backed out its as simple as that. The motive behind the creation of the gelatin feed is to reduce the overall cost of feeding to maximize profit of which we firstly produced the powdered form, we moved on to the pellet which we had some issues with the bonding now we have rectified that with the new magnet floating feed, and we will keep on improving on the feed and bagging which is on its way.
Someone said its cp is 14.9 of which only blood meal alone is higher than that. Talking of scamming i have transacted business with lots of individuals over the past years majority from nairaland worth millions of naira some i have never seen before they only had faith in me and no one has ever come up and said robonski is a scam. I rather put my energy on more positive/productive things than to produce a feed that wont live up to its expectation, As i type the feed is on Nafdac desk for review. Details will be out very shortly. The feed has a customers forum if a user have any issue with the feed.
N.B I am fully aware that there are some individuals working against Me in particular its not even about the feed.. only GOD knows their motive. Well this is not the first time i have encountered such. We will come out victorious. |

Businesstools: I heard some farmers produce fish feed with broiler starter and plenty of soya beans. They say it's cheaper and not different from the ready-made feed in terms of result. It it true? Secondly, how do they do it? You can search for Ab1x feed formulation on this thread, it includes broiler starter and soya.. |

heartbitmi: i honestly think you should ask questions where necessary or you can as well ignore the comment. i actually requested Mr Ola (pumppie) and mr israel adediran (mr fish) to comment on this issue of whether 5m can be achieved within that space or not, the latter declined for very respectable reasons. both men are contemporaries and my mentor and foremost consultants. my self and many others have benefited greatly from mr ola's melange model which yields over 100% ROI. i think there are more subtle ways of making requests from people you don't just order them or come at them in such a tone just because this is internet. please kindly be mindful that you may not be the best professional in this field observing things on this thread, some don't even make comments. it is my desire to encourage such heavy weights to make comments so as to further grow this thread and help more people. so please if you have questions or need clarifications kindly and politely ask. regards. Hello sir, nobody is saying it cannot be achieved, it is very achievable.. @ the red bolded yes mr excelsior may not be the best professional but he has taken it upon himself as his advice/input on this thread from inception has assisted fish farmers in Nigeria, sparked the mind of individuals to see the opportunities in fish farming as a whole.. We are not seeking for heavy weights, what we seek are farmers whose experience can bolster other farmers to achieve success.. No man is an island. cheers |

pumppie: Though I haven’t seen the report you guys are talking about neither do I know this guy but yes 5m even in maximum 3months is possible with mélange fish farming. 60,000 fingerlings to be feed with #3,960,000 to attain average weight of 400g will give you a total of 24,000kg (800baf) and a gross return of #10,320,000 if u sell at #430/kg. Cost of fingerlings and feeding (excluding miscellaneous) amounts to #4,560,000 Profit= #5,760,000 Mr pumppie thank you very much for you analysis, A farmer can achieve more it all boils down to the capital you put in. the more capital the more profit.. What i was trying to point out is the guy should at least give some analysis/shed more light on how to achieve that.. This is a faceless forum anybody can come online and say what he has not achieved before.. Thanks |

stonedigital: . Hello sir, welcome to d house. About your 700 fingerling, ur tank is too small to raise that amount of catfish. The maximum u can rear to table size on 1200 litres tank is 100. To rear 500 fish to table size, u need a 12*12*4 pond. For new farmers like u I will even advice u put just stock 300 pieces on a 12*12*4 feet pond to avoid loss. Pls try and invest little and and increase ur stock as time goes on. Fish farming is not a child's play cos u need serious cash and experience to be successful in it. Fish farming is another school entirely, so try and start from d cradle(start from kindergarten and primary school) before talking of profit. If u can recover all ur recurrent expenses after selling ur fish, it simply means u will be successful in it on your next batch of stocking. Please try and visit a well established farm and learn from them and make sure u pay the owner so that the seriousness will be there. Just my 2 cents I am proud of you. |

excelsiorfarm: Thanks bro, I have being observing your works and want to say well done bro, commendable. For the other guy I wanted to verify if he/she knew what was written, but the ban didn't allow me to clarify. Though it is possible, but I wanted to see if that op was confident enough to conceive us. I could explain how if ask, but not without the farmer's diligence with investment e.g. 350, 000 post fingerlings/juveniles in 6 months will get you your 5 million when all the facilities is on ground before hand i.e. 120,000 unit production every 8 weeks. condition that he has good brood stocks etc. I didn't want to write off is idea, but just want to see what insight he/she was bringing to the table. Though we learn everyday.
WELL DONE BRO Thank you very much sir i appreciate, we also commend your great advice on this thread.. you are very correct sir but to be honest how many farmers can stock 350,000 fingerlings/juvenile at a go.. well his idea might be feasible but he needs to provide more statistics on how to achieve it.. |

banmee: That is not what they are telling you. They see what you all don't want to acknowledge. The mentality of Nigerians cannot make it work because of corruption. It does not matter what great policies you put in place, corruption will destroy it. Just because western economies do it and it works for them, does not mean it will work for Nigeria. For example. The western world has refineries. So does Nigeria. Do the ones in Nigeria function? Nigeria has roads. So does the western world. Are the roads in Nigeria pliable? The western world has power generating means. So does Nigeria. When last did you have 24hr uninterrupted power supply? Nigerians have good ideas but lack the knowledge, will, or virtue to make anything worthwhile work. Corruption is the bane of the country. My thoughts exactly.. well said |
