obi58: Ambode is really working oooo.
Look at correct investment that due to the ridiculous tax regime of the Lagos government has been set up in the more investor friendly Ogun state.
Unfortunately, this is one example of many businesses relocating to Ogun state to set up shop.
Then people like my brother deomelo will come to shout that Ambode is working when they commission bus stop. Just negodu what your neighbouring state is commissioning. What kind of thinking is this? Leave deomelo out of this and think for a minute. Southwest doesn't play the kind of politics you are promoting, that says that only Lagos must get investments at the expense of others, and that if others get investments therefore it means Lagos must be doing something wrong. That sort of thinking is wrong. FYI, Lagos actually got more investments than Ogun this year unlike in the recent past so the premise of your post is dead wrong. https://www.businessdayonline.com/exclusives/article/lagos-overtakes-ogun-new-manufacturing-investments/amp/I still can't put my head around the way you Igbos reason. You will still be the same ones to complain that Lagos is the only one 'developing' at the expense of other SW states when it suits you. Why are you people like this for goodness sakes? |

Lagos Metro Rail Project is not limited to metro rail.
Ethiopia's rail project is just a rail project
Lagos state metro includes 27km metro rail with multiple lines
54 km 10 lane expressway
BRT access
Stations
Overhead bridges
Rail bridge across the Lagos Lagoon

seborrhic: Something that took Ethiopia just 4years to complete(2011-2015) at a fraction of the cost Lagos is spending and still to spend. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Addis_Ababa_Light_Rail By 2022,if it's actually completed by then,it would have taken Lagos state government 14years and probably a billion dollars to complete a light rail from Mile 2 to Marina. This will surely enter into the Guiness book of records. Eh.. this has been thrashed here before. They are not the same model. Besides, the Lagos one has met with series of challenges that's affected its timely delivery. Lagos light rail is elevated for most parts since it runs on swampy land and it's also a 2 way rail. You'll have to calculate the cost of the pilings, the concrete footings and it's larger size to accommodate the 2 trains at the same time. It also crosses a water body and it's complete with a super highway that runs alongside it with pedestrian bridges linking the train stations which are also elevated. The Ethiopian Lightrail runs on land and is a normal railway line with stops alongside it. Their specifications and topography are miles apart, hence the cost difference and delivery timing. PaChukwudi44: So if the sw got the speakership in 2011,yorubas will have voted PDP in 2015? If letting one man decide the fate of an entire tribe is sophistication, then to hell with it.Igbos will never play such zombie politics. Never ever!!! Oga, I never said anything about how Igbos choose to play their politics, or did I? It's actually none of my business and I don't bloody care. I only gave a theory as to why the Tinubu camp may have declined the speakership offer -- a lot of Yoruba's still ended up voting Jonathan regardless. But he obviously built and earned his leadership credentials over the years hence his enduring influence over those that support and follow his political leadership. Besides, Tinubu is not the only SW political leader of renown, OBJ is also there, as well as some other pocket political tendencies; though he's apparently perhaps the most influential currently, and I dare say he didn't just get there overnight, your bad-belle notwithstanding. |

PaChukwudi44: Tinubu for his selfish motive denied the SW the speakership zoned to them in 2011.What sort of politics is that? Tufiakwa the SE says no to zombiesm and iberiberism Maybe Tinubu was being strategic when he rejected the speakership which he saw as a 'greek gift' at the time, projecting (correctly) that he could bargain for a bigger and better position (VP) in the emerging opposition coalition at the time (which became the APC). And his gamble paid off because the same he influenced the emergence of the current VP/Acting President. Just saying. |
