I will compare you to a spring night
You are more lovely and even merrier
Cool winds tingle April's precious floret
And spring's lease has too short for linger

Often times, the eyes of heaven shine too cool
And sometimes his complexion of silver beamed
And every ugly from fair sometimes pulls through
By chance, the changing of nature's course untrimmed

But you eternal spring, shall never fade
Or lose possession of that beauty you owe
Nor shall Death brag that you're insnared in his shade
When in eternal lines to time, you grow

So long as men can breathe and eyes see hue
So long gives this, and this gives life to you

Exactly. Go post the Haiku plus Sonnet, you know over there. grin. And YES, poetry does come in short sentences too. It's not everybody that enjoys the newspapers that a lot of us put up here really.

Yeah, there are tonnes of ways we could pack this joint and force hands to resume their contributions. People don't like to see sad, mawkish mutters about stuff that they may never understand. People almost always want to have fun! So we could start off by putting up more thrilling topics (that can make the home page) that everyone can relate and contribute to. And as mod, you should do this cos you'd stir up more responses.

You could set up a kind of word play, where you'll put up a word for each day/week and ask writers to write shortly about them. Give rules in each, that will provide enough of that chord of competition, to excite the interest of our acquisitive minds.

Throw out subtle challenges to non-writers and all, imploring them to test their ability in writing....of cos, we'll have pocket-full of laughs cos almost 'everybody' will want to contribute something. smiley

Then of cos, a lot will want to side-step to see if the section has other goodies, like they always do in other sections....and voila! They will see.

But also should they see a Non-Writer's guide to writing, where the pros among us can contribute by sharing their tips, tricks and goals, to how they turned out so awesome. It will definitely go a long way in helping someone that had taken one look at their post and said, 'damn, I wish I could write like that'.
And on the side line too, we the thriving amateurs, will also be aided in toning down our need, to always beg for critique by viewers.

.....and on like that...this place just might get relit.
He proposes to marry you, but then, you would have to wait for two or more years before he fixes a date for the actual wedding to take place, maybe due to his financial status or other reasons. Would you choose to understand & wait till then, or move on if an immediate/ready suitor steps in?
Not everybody views marriage as the ultimate award/trophy for relationships, you know. Sometimes, it's good to just let yourself go with the tide...wherever it leads to. If i really cared and he asked me to wait, it'd be the littlest thing to do, given that i'm looking to be happy as well. But whereby one's all emcompassing joy will be to get married, then by all means, they shouldn't.

stargrip: Tanx all for d diffrent comments, bt still is of the obvious truth dat rarely do gurls buy ebooks even if they do, is of every possibility dat they got dat for free, bt dt aside. The point is most gurls are not moved to the digitized world of acquiring gud infomation even wen is free they hardly go for it. Though, is quite ok wit does of u gurls who said u download ur ebooks for free but truly dats not impressive wen looking @ d luxury stuffs u gurls cud spend a futune for. Well i'l also like to conclude dis for now & is goin out to some of u gurls who responded & takin it personal dt dis is not sexism
Look at him giving vote of thanks. Hehe. Like our responses didn't help shape this into an actual thread. You were confused at the beginning but still wanted attention, and so you included the nigerian girls in your title. I would believe different, if you hadn't modified your very first post. It's all good though.
RomanceRe: Mixed Messages In Relationships by Rocktation(mod): 10:20am On Jul 11, 2012
Misfiring signals can be done knowingly and unintentionally as well. So saying that it is always latched with insecurity wouldn't exactly be correct. Take for instance, we women place a high value on communication. A woman can get really riled up when a lover doesn't call as much as is expected of a person that supposedly loves her to bits. Whereas, he and a lot of men may view the call as functional rather than emotional, and would rather call only when there's a reason to call.

But of cos, insecurity is chief where the signals sent, were mixed intentionally. Women on the one hand, are really insecure by nature. We are risk adverse for the most part and by sending mixed signals, we want our men to demonstrate their level of interest in us.
Take for example; a lady who gives a certain kind of green light to some guy across the hall, can instantaneously turn her attention to some other, when he crosses over to start a conversation. To us, it seems to be less appealing to be an overly enthusiastic single person, who appears to be excited to meet someone. Cos it might come across the communication channel as overly desperate, which doesn't exactly make a great first impression.

Men on the other hand, rarely say or do opposite to their intentions, but still show insecurities all thesame.....to lesser degrees i believe. They can go as far as to bully a girl they're interested in, to garner her attention, or can pretend to have complete interest in some stupid conversation with some chick in a gathering, thereby ignoring their girlfriend, just to get her jealous and seek her attentiveness.

Dealing with mixed signals doesn't require much though. Except taking your time to figure them out, approach your partner about them, and then reassuring them as to why they never should have been sent....if they were sent intentionally.

Really, it would be better if people demonstrated more confidence and decisiveness in their actions and body language and avoided misfiring signals. But then again, the peril of it adds to some of the excitement of the 'hunt' and builds intrigue for male and female relationships. It would be so soo uncoool, if we always knew what the other person was thinking or what they meant by a certain action.

I remember Edet wanted to play ball on a bright day oo. But it started raining and so he could not. Sad.

I remember that Mr Sada is a farmer that lives in Sapele. He plants yams, corn, cassava (and milk-- i used to think....imagine!). He goes to church on sundays and at the end, they asked 'can you see the church in the picture?'.

I remember Nene used to sing so sweet when she washes her clothes down by the river side where the green grass grows. She used to call her playmates to join her in singing too *jobless girls*

And then, i remember Agbo......but i never knew the exact thing that he was doing in that book.

Simbi and Ali of cos, were always going to school. They NEVER told us how or whether they ever get home...* Renegades*
