Is this a trick question ![]() |
It is a classic case of pre-marital jitters. Good news is they are totally natural, normal and to be expected of such a monumental event as a wedding that has so much hope, so many expectations and involvement from so many people riding on it. When one considers the big commitment of marriage and begins to consider whether they should go through with their big day, this could be a very healthy part of the wedding process. It is after all, a major commitment. Everyone questions whether they're making the right decisions. Questioning is not doubting. Jitters thrive on fears, so I advice that you face yours. Keep an open line of communication with your partner, and discuss these fears/thoughts with him. Discuss your home (space), tastes, your fear of him being violent in the future, the level of family involvement there might be in your lives and stuff like that. Also, find a healthy way to deal with all the family (his sisters and all), their demands and expectations. Yes, they have their own feelings of loss, happiness and disappointment too. Why! They may not even like you. Understand though, that others that have gone on this same odyssey, did not have it all on a platter either. And that no matter how hard you try, you cannot please everyone and everyone may not be pleased. But remember, 'try' always has its pivotal destinations, so be sure to always want to. All the best. |
Well, would it be morally acceptable to watch and let his daughter drown? Besides, some other person that had this posted before you, said it was some random housewife and stranger. Not a daughter and father. I fear that the next person that'll cover this will call them a brother and pastor's wife. |
I swear dbanj does not have a lick of talent. |
tobechi74: one elderly church memberIsn't that 'elderly', I see up there? So what did you expect? |
Her pastor did not tell her anything. She cannot wait for you for four years like she's told you already. Work with that. Leave her be. |

Did you get married immediately after the breakup? If it's the case, then continue holding back like you are right now. Time is all you need to do the deed, really. But if not........still hang in there. Time will still be all you'll need, really. |

Yeah, Dan comes across as rude too. A lot of annoying things he would say to gurls on air, but they'd take with laughs anyway. |

Seriously I noticed too that a lot of people add 'mod, take this to the front page' in their posts. This morn, the very first response by one of our mods to someone's thread was followed by 'can we take this to the front page' by the thread starter. And I was like what tha... |

Naijaklef: @Rockstation,As i do like yours..... Oh yeah, i tend to get jelly-bellied whenever God is brought into an arguement. I'm a believer too, afterall. Our individual interpretations of the biblical teachings however, tend to becloud our rightful thinkings most of the time. God does want us to find our counterparts or he wants our counterparts to find us, however the case may be. But you must concur that there are absolutely no scriptural references to qualify anyone as a husband or wife. So short of attaching themselves (the singles that is) to just any dude that happens along (without having to make it a 'choice' to wait for the right person and for however long it takes), because the bible seems to lay it out like that, what do you advice they do to avoid hell? Since in truth, God instituted marriage. |
Naijaklef: @rockstation,Now that i'm more settled to read this question of yours, i've another in answer to it. Since life (that has been before us) is a game, who makes the rules? And how d'you know who wins and who loses in the end? A choice isn't what it is just for the name of it, you know. It is mostly the liberty to select whatever you want from a variety, and be remarkably satisfied with it. Nobody exactly misses having what they never had. |
Halleluyah...was beginning to get a head ache already. ![]() |
@Isa Don't know about the whiny sissies and all, but this time you related more with what i mean. Generalization is the b.itch actually and so my answer was in line with the question--Why are single women rampant? It'd be wrong to say that all those men are scared of these women's rigidity. But won't it also be wrong to say that all those women are still single because of their stoutness? Or do some stout ones not actually get married? With their standards and all? Everybody has got their touchstones for selection of whatever and whoever they want, so who are we really to say that they don't deserve to get whatever they believe that they deserve to? I cannot help though, but continually hit on the fact that the ability of most of these so-called rigid singles to make certain concessions (where marriage is concerned), lies heavily in the hands of the men they apppeal to, but yet do not approach them, based on the mere observation that they are 'rigid', 'successful', or 'have high tastes'. Like someone i know will always say; every man can sweep every woman off their feet. You just need the right broom. |
bendazum: YOU KEEP ON REPEATING MEN AND LOW SELF ESTEEM. WHY SO?Well how else would you explain a man that's intimidated by a woman's success and/or flintiness? Or does intimidation and overall self worth not come in thesame breath? |
I can tell you what he is----FUNNY! ![]() |
Hmmn, Happy Burthday! Hope you've paid him for his laptop that was stolen on his way to your wedding? ![]() |
^^You know, this is like what I also talked about. A few women, successful or not, might not have marriage in their books at all. And then, someone would go expecting submission from a distance because the bible says so (or not). Every respectable woman has got walls, believe me. The hardness just varies across us. |
