Op pls do not misinform the populace,atleast we read about the Kiriji war and no where was it mentioned that Ekiti Parapo or Ibadan purchased canon guns.It was stated clearly from the book i read,that the war was notable for its use of charms,even Obadoke Latoosa whom you said was a general,was refered to as a notorious babalawo(native doctor). I dont know where you got your story line from,its full of sensationalism.
And history puts it that the war only ended when the Fulanis joined the Oyo empire and it was observed that their intention was to take over the entire Yoruba land,and equaly enslave the populace,this made the war weary yorubas to immediately call for a truce....the book simply puts it that the coming of the Fulanis was the game changer. Pls get your facts right.

Those oil workers must have undergone survival at sea and also helicopter under water excape training (SAS and HUET). The oil company should be held responsible for not giving their workers the minimum required training before sending the offshore.

Also the helicopter company RT brisco will also pay for not checking for the HUET passes of all passengers and also not providing them with life jackets.

PTDF GEOSCIENCES TRAINING PROGRAMME (GTP)

The Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) is the Federal Government’s Agency mandated to build capacities in the Nigerian oil and gas industry. The Fund has over the years developed and implemented several programmes to meet identified human resource requirements to enhance the active participation of Nigerians in the industry.

In furtherance of the attainment of its mandate, the Fund wishes to commence the Geosciences Training Programme (GTP) designed to increase local capacities for geosciences knowledge, application and analytical skills in the oil and gas industry. This initiative entails the training of Nigerian graduates of geology or geosciences at the Laser Petroleum Geosciences Centre in Port Harcourt for effective participation in the industry’s upstream sector activities to enhance Nigerian Content Development. The GTP is of 5 months duration.

Further to the above, the Fund hereby invites applications from suitably qualified candidates who meet the following requirements:

A minimum of first degree in geology and geosciences ONLY

A minimum of second class lower degree

Must have completed the National Youth service Corps (NYSC)

Must not be above 30 years of age

Must be computer literate

Must be available to undertake a 6 months Post Training Attachment Programme

Must attach all credentials/documents while submitting application

Candidates are to note that only those who meet the requirements would be short listed and invited for the training programme.

Ever since my university days, I had always been a fan of blackberry. What I recently found out about my beloved blackberry surprised me and has since left a bitter taste in my mouth.

I have recently applied for a host of jobs, getting invited for tests in some and never getting an invite in some. In my quest to know why I haven't been invited to write some tests, I started seeing a pattern.

Anytime I apply to jobs using recruitment portals such as taleo, I always get shortlisted. Anytime I apply for a job by sending my CV to a mail address, I never get an invite for a test.

I decided to do a little experiment. I opened a yahoo mail account and sent a mail from my BlackBerry HUB to the yahoo mail and it ended up in spam. I tried the same using mail addresses of people I had never exchanged mails with and all the mails ended up in their spam folder.

The problem I later got to find out is a bug that comes with BB10 devices. Using the blackberry HUB to send mails will most likely end your mail in the junk folder.

I decided to open this thread to enlighten other job seekers who unknowingly have been victims of their own phone.

Why you will not make money on Freelancer

I want to help you guys further, so that you will avoid the huddles and struggles I had at the beginning of my career. I also noticed that a lot of new freelancers have the same problem. I will like to address it here. Some of the things that will not allow you to make money are:
1. Your profile set up /description
2. Number of bids
3. Quality of bids
4. Level of expertise. Etc.

Let's start with the first one;

Profile Set up / Description
This is a very important aspect of your freelancer account. This is where you can market your skills and let employers know what you can do. Most employers read the profile description to know who you are before they hire you. If you are able to create an attention grabbing profile, your chances of winning projects will greatly increase.

Basically, your profile description should contain:
1. Your full name at the top
2. The skill you want to market on FL. e.g. Mine is written as Writer, Internet and Market Researcher. It covers all kinds of writing and research.
3. Introduce yourself - who are you? What is the name of your company (if you have one), mention your skills and provide a brief history of your journey in your career.
4. Bring out each of your skill and explain your level of expertise in a paragraph. For example, I wrote this paragraph on my E-book and Report skill, I wrote:

We write high quality, copyscape passed, well researched e-books for individuals and corporate organizations. We are also skilled in creating Bible study manuals and guides. We transcribe videos into e-books and also format e-books for Amazon Kindle platform.


Now, you know how to write a good profile description, log into your freelancer account and write a powerful description.
