China has spoilt business for most of the western countries and they are angry. What they will demand 10 naira to do china will do with 10 kobo and more accessories. If not for china we will still be glued to Nokia and the likes who exploited us then.

This is an intelligence site by people from different intelligence agencies who are tired of their Government. As usual with all intelligence some might be disinformation that is where common sense comes in and do not believe everything you read. The more you read intelligence the better you get at sifting through it. Happy reading.

Politics / Re: NIMC Charging 15,000 Naira For Modification Of Date Of Birth? by rocoh(m): 5:03am On Jan 12, 2019
rhamz:
My own case is different. Nimc wants to punish me because they have a BVN database last updated in 2015.
My DOB was wrongly captured by my bank during bvn registration which i didnt know until 2016 when i wanted to open an account with another bank.I had my DOB corrected on the bvn platform by the bank that made the mistake since 2016.
i registered on Nimc platform in 2016 and was issued a slip. Every time i had the opportunity to get to their office, they tell me the card/Slip isnt ready. i was at their office in Lagos to check again last week and i was told i had to re-register.

i was surprised because i could see my details on their computer. The officer then directed me to another officer when my questions were getting to much. The other officer confirmed my details on their platform using my BVN and even wrote out my NIN for me, but still insisted that i had to re-register because my bvn records had issues on their platform

i had to fill another form and proceeded to get re-registered. After few hours it was my turn to get captured and i was now told that the DOB i have on my form is different from what is obtainable on the bvn platform. I told the officer what happened and explained that it was already resolved but i was surprised when i was told that the bvn records with NIMC is as at 2015 and so no update on bvn reflects on their platform and that People who got enrolled on bvn platform after bvn records where downloaded for Nimc in 2015 cannot register for the national identity card for now.

i was now directed to read the attached internal memos. Why should i pay 15k when i have already been issued NIN ? i have everything requested for to update the DOB including my old National Identity card but i dont 15k to pay.

Exactly what I was saying to someone. Many people are in your shoes. Some people just sit somewhere and make decisions without thinking of the effect of their decisions.

Politics / Re: NIMC Charging 15,000 Naira For Modification Of Date Of Birth? by rocoh(m): 10:57pm On Jan 11, 2019
dayolove:
The OP is not lying. N15,000 is the official approved fee for date of birth modification while N500 is for minor changes/modifications like change of name due to marriage, family decision, religious considerations, etc. You also pay N500 to reprint your loss of NIN slip. The truth is that before now, date of birth was what we call unupdatable field because you can only be born once but along the line, we discovered there were few people with genuine need to effect changes for obvious reasons which the Commission will investigate properly before deciding to accede to the request or not.

The N15,000 for change of date of birth is mainly to discourage such requests and it is only limited to once in a lifeime. Even when the date is eventually changed as paying the amount is not a guarantee of getting it change, the Commosion still keep track of the initial change made but shows the recent changes should there be need for further investigations.

On what you have on the websites the, it was for modification strictly for change of name and other details and not for change of birth as prior to this time, change in date of birth was not even permitted.

Many Nigerians have up to five 5 dates of birth depending on what they intend to use it for. Some are not able to remember the one they used for immigration, FRSC, CBN, police, etc recruitment and as such with the harmonization of the different databases going on, some of these lies come to the open and you one now need NIMC, being the sole repository of biometric databases as directed by the FG to attempt to clear some of these messes.

With NIMC now, you lie once and learn to live with the lie for life. Avoid using different dates of birth and other fraudulent practices with your bio data. It is seriously frowned at by the embassies and could lead to permanent denial of entry visas, etc. the FG is trying to ensure oneness and avoid unnecessary duplications so the system can be trusted and verifiable.

The NIN is the most important and unique identifier required by all, Nigerians and legal residents to maintain and regulate a reliable system of identity management and not just card issuance like before. Please go get yours. The National Identity Smart Card will come later as many people get registered into the national identity database.

You can email me on loveday.ogbonna@nimc.gov.ng should you require further clarification or have any questions regarding the NAtional Identity Management System

Mr Loveday , I have some questions :

This is in the scenario of someone who has not registered before:

Is the NIMC linked to BVN?

If yes it means you get your DOB data from the Bank

So the DOB info does not originate from NIMC but from the Bank.

If there is an error from the Bank/BVN on the DOB it means this error is passed on to NIMC

However one can effect a change on the DOB in the BVN from the Bank.

If one does this , is the NIMC system not supposed to automatically update itself since the person has not registered for NIN before.

First: I didn't say zenith bank is NIMC.
Secondly....I said walk into zenith and ask for the NIMC official or NIMC stand.
Thirdly: I didn't say the staff of zenith bank work for NIMC.

Instead of u to read and comprehend my message .... U rather choose to talk in a hurry....hence exposing the loop holes in your reasoning and comprehension....

Oga....currently some female staff of zenith have been trained to handle the NIMC job function....they are only awaiting deployment and set up configuratution of the specialized NIMC computer systems.

So yes....zenith work for NIMC

I believe we can make our points without resorting to insults.

- I did not say you said Zenith bank was NIMC.

-I made that point to establish the fact that this is an
NIMC operation , a registration point somewhere in a bank (not even their state office) cannot controvert what obtains at NIMC HQ in ABUJA except that registration point has more Powers than the HQ or there is something wrong with the HQ.

-Also the fact that a staff of Zenith Bank has been trained to handle NIMC job function does not automatically confer on them the authority or means to edit date of Birth and even if they had such powers which I doubt they have, they have not yet been deployed so as it is now the status quo remains. However if Zenith staff can have such powers then the NIMC staff at the Zenith Bank my friend went to would have done it for him dont you think?

We just want things done the right way.

U can register or edit your Nimc info for free.
Walk into any zenith bank as ask for NIMC registration stand or official....

They are present in selected branches of zenith bank.

The person charging u 15k is a thief. A criminal he should be treated as such and arrested for corruption and fraud.

NIMC registration and correction of details is FREE

OGA you are not right I'm afraid. Zenith bank is not NIMC they just provide an office space for them ,the staff there works for NIMC not Zenith.

Politics / Nimc 15k For Change Of Date Of Birth Is True by rocoh(m): 7:50pm On Jan 11, 2019
This is from someone I know. He did his BVN with UBA around 2014/2015 unknown to him that UBA gave him June date of Birth instead of July.(Day and year was correct) . Unfortunately he did not know.

Fast forward to 2018 he heard Zenith was helping with NIMC registration in Lagos, so he went to their branch in Allen armed with his Drivers Licence and Internatiinal Passport all containing the July date of Birth(The correct one).

Zenith said he must have an account with them before they can help with NIMC Registration. He opened account just because of NIMC. Fast forward to NIMC registration point inside the Bank, he filled the form and when the BVN details came up they said there was a discrepancy. Since BVN was the issue the logical thing was to go back to UBA to correct the mistake on BVN.

After some weeks he went to UBA and the error was corrected in less than 10mins(after presentation of drivers licence) and the lady said it has been rectified that in a few days time all will be alright that its a small thing.

Some weeks later he went to Zenith again for the NIMC, unfortunately the date was still same on NIMC portal despite the fact that the BVN which they source their information from had updated their records.

All this was around Sept/Oct 2018. Fastforward to 2019 my guy spent the holiday season in Abuja then it occured to him to get his NIMC again since this was their HQ.

On 03/01/19 he went to their HQ near FIRS. The lady gave him the form after fingerprint scanning which is the first thing ,so my guy told the lady his issue and the Lady said the date had not yet changed and the lady suggested that he should go and print his BVN details from his Bank and attach it to his form during the NIMC biometric capture and inform the officer so that change can be effected.

My guy ran to UBA close to WUSE Market and printed his BVN details containing the right date ,went back to NIMC collected form from thesame lady filled it , another Lady checked it and put serial no on it for capture so he can queue.

When he got to Capture and the Officer noticed the discrepancy despite the attached the BVN printout the Officer said he should go to the main hall and see a woman there.

My guy saw the woman explained to her , even showed her International Passport then the woman said its 15000.00. The woman said it was free before but that a new memo came out yesterday(02/01/19) saying 15k must be charged for date of birth corrections.

All my guy said prophetically was " we will speak to the Government" and as God will have it someone has brought this to Nairaland.

This is to confirm that what the first Poster said was nothing but the truth.

WE ARE THE ONE THAT CAN CHANGE THIS COUNTRY
AFTER ALL THE STRESS THEY SAY BRING 15K AGAIN. IS IT A SIN TO BE A NIGERIAN?
