blueto: I have the privilege of being a Youth executive in my Church. And since I enamour football, I have been thinking of initiating and establishing a football group, were we can train and organise friendly matches with other Churches as well.
But I feel skeptical about this innovation because it is unbiblical. Thus, it may be unacceptable to God.
So I am don't know if it is really right to proceed with the idea.
Please I need your advise. Your contributions will be well appreciated. ITS A GOOD THING BRO.Even MFM has a football club . Its a good thing for the youths. The reason why we have a high level of vice is that the youth do not have something positive, cheap and easily accessible to channel their youthful energy into. |

Health › Re: How The Internet Helped Restore My Baby's Health by rocoh(m): 3:36pm On Sep 16, 2015 |
GOD BLESS YOU FOR SHARING. i WILL BE A GREAT DAD. kennysteve77: Fellow Nairalanders,
With great joy in my heart I give this brief account of how the internet helped restore my baby's health and prevented possible long-term complications. My lovely eight-month old baby suddenly began having seizures few days ago. It was so severe that it worried me and her mum so much that we though it was a spiritual attack. She would suddenly stiffen her neck and shake with great energy (seemingly unconscious), and then return to normal mode in less than a minute.
It happened like 3-5 times every 15minutes. Everytime it occurred, we felt like weeping as the ever lovely baby seemed to have been strangely hijacked. We rushed to the hospital and some blood tests were recommended. On seeing the results, the Doctors quickly knew it was a brain infection coupled with Malaria. Although some of them were worried that all other symptoms of Malaria and infection were absent in the baby - no high temperature, no yellow eyes, baby actively playing and sucking. The doctors immediately commenced treatment with strong antibiotics passed directly into her bloodstream + antimalarial drugs. Twice daily she was receiving the medications but on the third day, they got more worried that there was no improvement.
My wife was drastically losing her joy while everyone else was praying. On the evening of that third day, my wife picked her phone and began an extensive research on Google.com for possible causes of such condition. She stumbled on a research paper that presented the Negative Effects of Soybean in Babies. This paper caught her attention because two days before the seizures began, she introduced Soybean into our baby's food formula (on a Doctor's recommendation). The article stated that Soybean inhibits the production of Trypsin which is very essential for infants and also triggers irregular impulse in the brain neurotransmitters thereby causing frequent seizures which, after a long period, could render the child epileptic. The paper added that the inhibition of Trypsin could lower the immune system (which could make doctors believe it to be an infection).
We immediately stopped feeding the baby with the formula but we didn't notify anyone of the finding to allow a continued treatment. By the following day, the seizures started fading and in just two days, it went away completely. We are still in awe with this discovery while we are very glad that the baby is back to normal life, but I felt - this might help someone someday.

Travel › Re: Ibadan Brown Roofs: A Matter Of Perception - updated with more photos by rocoh(m): 10:01am On Sep 10, 2015 |
vicadex07: The fact is other major parts of Nigeria were still living in mud and thatch houses when millions of Ibadan indigenes and residents were already using zinc roofs and later on cement buildings. Some of the earliest mud houses in the ancient city were just upgraded with zinc roofs before the owners decided to stop at that or make a complete overhaul. With the earliest form of civilized settlement not only in Nigeria but Africa as a whole, Ibadan is a city blessed with rich cultural and historical heritage. As at Nigeria's independence, Ibadan was the largest and most populous city in the country and the third in Africa after Cairo and Johannesburg. Ibadan had been the center of administration and capital of the old Western Region, Nigeria since the days of British colonial rule hence her many firsts in accomplishments. First TV station in Africa, first University in Nigeria, first sky scrapper in Nigeria, first modern stadium in Africa, among many other accomplishments due to early civilization.
What makes the brown roof phenomena quite alluring and exceptionally striking is the topography of the large expanse of land and the very large clusters of homogeneous settlement. Standing at a vantage point like atop its most popular hill Oke-are, of which Ibadan is noted for many more, or at the top of the bowers tower which is the highest point of the city (this is where many of the popular brown roof pictures are taken) the view of the historical city sprawls out in an alluring manner with all its splendor. You cannot just resist the aura of a feeling of deep rich history.
According to J.P Clark a very famous poet, "Ibadan is a running splash of gold and rust, flung and scattered among seven hills like broken china in the sun".
The problem with Ibadan and its negative perception is...over "scatterness" mainly because of its hilly terrain, hence why most visitors and passer-by's who are most guilty of spreading its negative stereotype never stop to take it all in.
Bodija is cut off from Challenge!
Mokola is cut off from Eleyele!!
Moniya and Akinyele is more of a voyage to Felele!!!
Now we have also Iroko, lalupon, egbeda, old lagos road, etc. The bazillions of towns around those places can actually make another state.
Venice is one of the world’s biggest tourist destinations, described as an open air museum with ancient buildings and artifacts. As old as it is, most of its ancient buildings have brown roofs but Venetians and historians have never called the city dirty because of that. So why should we call Ibadan dirty because of that too? Of all my years in this city I have always considered the brown roof as a form of art and beauty and I would love Nigerians to stop and look well. We only start appreciating ourselves when a foreigner tells our story but for once let’s tell it to them.
The brown roofs is due to years of use of the steel pan roofs and the more the rust the more the years of use and yeah, the more its beauty. I’m not saying people should not use their asbestos or stone coated step tile roofing sheets. I just really love the vintage look the roofs gives the city.
So you see, people are right when they say Ibadan has brown roofs; many of them I tell you. Ibadan has more brown roofs than anywhere in Nigeria. But do you know the bigger truth? Ibadan also has more modern houses than anywhere else in the country.
Match all the modern houses in the biggest city in all geopolitical zones across the country with those in Ibadan, when the houses in those cities finish, the remaining modern houses in Ibadan WILL still be more than those in the next two biggest cities. Fact!
To summarize this my narrative, let me quickly quip in a remix version of JP Clarks popular quote about the ancient city.
"Ibadan has more gold and more rust than anywhere else in Nigeria"
vicadex07 ---- 2015 Nice work bro proud of your work. Please take a look at the third picture again. I suppose its an oversight. Thanks for your article. |

akinzeb: Some former ministers of defence and some retired senior officers are said to be jittery as another probe panel has been set up by the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Tukur Buratai.
Informed military sources disclosed to Saturday Tribune that the eight man panel, headed by a General, is to investigate all equipment and other logistics bought by the Nigerian Army from 2010 to 2015. One of the sources revealed that “the panel is to find out the names of the contractors who executed the jobs and supplied the equipment and at what cost.”
The source told the Saturday Tribune that on all the jobs and contracts executed, “the panel will find out which of the contracts were done and those yet to be done and at what level of completion are they now Saturday Tribune gathered authoritatively that the probe by the Nigerian Army is quite different from the one set up by President Muhammadu Buhari last month while sources close to some ex-defence minister and some retired senior officers said they were worried over the modus operandi of the probe panel.
The military source revealed that “much of the equipment was either not supplied or is of inferior quality, hence the Army chief is determined to get to the root of all the so-called awarded contracts.” The source added that the panel will not invite anybody for the probe, but will go into the records of the supplies and contracts at Army Headquarters and retrieve all files related to the contracts.”
Saturday Tribune gathered that the panel would also find out from the records “at what amount the contract to supply or to build was awarded and how much was paid.”
The probe panel, which has been inaugurated, is to commence investigations next week and would tour all the military formations in the country to find out the true position of things.
The military source added, that even the equipment that was supplied to all the army locations in which they are kept would be visited and “the panel will find out the state it is, and from which country it was purchased.”
Also the panel is to find out “if the contractors that executed the projects and supplied the equipment are fully registered with the military and are also specialists in those areas of the equipment they supplied.”
http://www.tribuneonlineng.com/ex-ministers-defence-army-chiefs-jittery-coas-sets-new-probe-panel I am tired of all these probing of a thing. If you want to probe go ahead you dont have to make soo much noise. All these "Some former ministers of defence and some retired senior officers are said to be jittery as another probe panel has been set up by...." .This has turned to a cliché. Am tired of all these noise do what you want to do. Damn!!! |
