It has been almost impossible registering in my area in Agric, Ikorodu, Lagos. My parents had to get to the registration point 6:30am to pick numbers in the thirties. They did this for 3 days before they finally got registered. I was determined to do same over the weekend to discover the registration officials had been transferred from the known point to a rather unknown area. But as determined as I am, I'll make sure I register to vote even if it has to be outside my area(at least for gubernatorial and presidential elections sake).

I have the inkling the Poverty Development Party is planning to use my area as their rigging spot. One of the NYSC members posted to my area even said they've been told to stop registration when they hit 5,000 and the population in my area should be at about 8,000(this is an underestimation o). Should they even determine how many to be registered at all?

GEJ will definitly sweep the votes at the Presidential Elections. He does not need to rig to win, just like what happened at the PDP Primaries. He is a P.hd holder, the most qualified of the contestants. He is already working on power & he will deliver. With the support of the US, he is working on security. With time foreigners will be interested in investing here in Nigeria. Of all our leaders, GEJ is the only one I can say is not tribalistic, & he is very accommodating. Ibb & Atiku carried out their threat to make the Country ungovernable for him. But with all that, GEJ welcomed them with open arms to join his campaign team. Mark you, GEJ is the younger of the 3, but he exhibited more wisdom & maturity. When the Northerners tried to foment trouble, after the demise of President Yar Adua, GEJ again displayed wisdom & maturity in handling the situation, thereby preventing what could well have developed into very serious crisis between the North & the rest of the Country. Everyone wanted him to be sworn in as President because they had confidence in him. [/b]GEJ no doubt made mistakes like any other human being, [b]but he has the interest of Nigerians at heart. He is the only one who can permanently end the kidnappings. if he comes in as President. I believe this will put a permanent end to the incidents of kidnapping in the Niger Delta Region. The people of the region would accept that as good compensation for all they have suffered. So fellow Nairalanders, everyone has free will to vote for the candidate of their choice. But please when you do vote, do not vote for anyone because you see others voting for them. Vote for a candidate that can rule this Country & get it out of her present predicament. For me, my Presidential Candidate is President Goodluck Jonathan. By the grace of God, he will SWEEP THE VOTES CONVINCINLY.

1. what happened in the PDP primaries, may as wel be what we should expect in the general elections
2. he is a PhD , yeah just as Maurice Iwu and Jega are professors
3. he is working on power alright, in my area the PHCN had put us on 4day on 1day off shift not because there wasn't enough transformers, but because the feeder can't supply enough electricity for the whole area. we'r suppose to be on for the past 2 days but we only have power for about 4 hours a day
4. I was one of those who wanted GEJ to be sworn in as president but I'll tell u am highly disappointed in his passiveness so far
5. GEJ's welcoming of Atiku and IBB makes me even more disappointed in him, he has been 'sleeping with the dogs' ever since he came into power.
6. he has had the chance to end kidnapping in the Niger Delta since he became president but nothing has come of it
7. if he comes in as president! HE HAS BEEN THE PRESIDENT, HE IS THE PRESIDENT!

I think this is the best chance Nigerians have ever had, we have had GEJ perform, we know what kind of leader he'll be, we should make the right choice

قَالَ كَذَ‌ٰلِكِ قَالَ رَبُّكِ هُوَ عَلَيَّ هَيِّنٌ ۖ وَلِنَجْعَلَهُ آيَةً لِّلنَّاسِ وَرَحْمَةً مِّنَّا ۚ وَكَانَ أَمْرًا مَّقْضِيًّا ﴿٢١﴾

(21) He said: "So (it will be): Thy Lord saith, 'that is easy for Me: and (We wish) to appoint him as a Sign unto men and a Mercy from Us':It is a matter (so) decreed."

INEC ought not be disappointed at the incompetency of our graduates, it is only the consequence of our educational system coupled with the carelessness of the Federal Government, an eg is the current postponement of resumption date .

My take is that whoever goes to the Quran with a clear and neutral conscience will be guided by the Almighty Allah, I did that without guidance from nobody in the quest for truth and Alhamdulilah I found the the light and my heart is at peace now.

for i.e., in my first few days of reading the Quran, I got confused when I read Allah referring to Himself as I in some cases and We/ Us in other cases. I asked someone who could not explain as well. But I kept going back wanting to 'know' until I discovered the simple explanation which is also obvious in the Yoruba language , and many other languages across the world, where pluralism is used to depict respect.

This is usually the situation of many, most of the acclaimed contradictions are simply explained in the same chapter if only they'll read on,

I can only continue to say Alhamdulilah for guiding me to the truth till date.

إِذْ أَوَى الْفِتْيَةُ إِلَى الْكَهْفِ فَقَالُوا رَبَّنَا آتِنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ رَحْمَةً وَهَيِّئْ لَنَا مِنْ أَمْرِنَا رَشَدًا ﴿١٠﴾

A thoughtful story, as for those who keep saying it is about the bible, a questionn for you. Why would a child not understand a Bible written in his language? If you must know, recitation of the Quran calms, soothes and purifies the mind in its Arabic form. Same applies for listening. I listen to the Quran when I need internal soothing and it has never failed.

Alhamdulilah for the Quran. Allahu akbar!

Alhamdulilah, its another Friday, May Allah (SWT) through His infinite mercy and grace bestow on us our heart desires that are good for us and I seek refuge in Him from those that will lead to His displeasure, amin.

giving out the video just to put fear in the hearts of the West is not reasonable enough for a supposedly killing militant group to release their training video. A video showing faces of some of their yet to have performed trainees while blurring the faces of others.

That way they are not appealing to your husband / boyfriend. Dont feel sorry for them cos they are fulfilled and contented the way they are. What's funny is that they feel sorry for those who dont dress like them

If she is as sound as you say she is in Islam, then she should understand except she is willing and able to sponsor the marriage until your friend is able to.

A real muslim must have total faith and trust in Allah only, believe in all His prophets, true revelations and the last day.

The Stranger


"A few months before I was born, my dad met a stranger who was new to our small Tennessee town. From the beginning, Dad was fascinated with this enchanting newcomer, and soon invited him to live with our family. The stranger was quickly accepted and was around to welcome me into the world a few months later.

As I grew up I never questioned his place in our family. In my young mind, each member had a special niche. My brother, Yusuf, five years my senior,was my example. Samya, my younger sister, gave me an opportunity to play 'big brother' and develop the art of teasing. My parents were complementary instructors-- Mom taught me to love Allah, and Dad taught me to how to obey Him. But the stranger was our storyteller. He could weave the most fascinating tales. Adventures, mysteries and comedies were daily conversations. He could hold our whole family spell-bound for hours each evening. If I wanted to know about politics, history, or science, he knew it.

He knew about the past and seemed to understood the present. The pictures he could draw were so life like that I would often laugh or cry as I watched. He was like a friend to the whole family. He took Dad, Yusuf and me to our first major league baseball game. He was always encouraging us to see the movies and he even made arrangements to introduce us to several famous people.

The stranger was an incessant talker. Dad didn' t seem to mind-but sometimes Mom would quietly get up-- while the rest of us were enthralled with one of his stories of faraway places-- go to her room, read the Qur'aan.

I wonder now if she ever prayed that the stranger would leave. You see, my dad ruled our household with certain moral convictions. But this stranger never felt obligation to honor them. Profanity, for example, was not allowed in our house-- not from us, from our friends, or adults. Our longtime visitor,however, used occasional four letter words that burned my ears and made Dad squirm, To my knowledge the stranger was never confronted. My dad was a teatotaler who didn't permit alcohol in his home - not even for cooking.

But the stranger felt like we needed exposure and enlightened us to other ways of life. He offered us beer and other alcoholic beverages often.

He made cigarettes look tasty, cigars manly, and pipes distinguished. He talked freely (probably too much too freely) about sex. His comments were sometimes blatant, sometimes suggestive, and generally embarrassing.

I know now that my early concepts of the man-woman relationship were influenced by the stranger.

As I look back, I believe it was Allah's Mercy that the stranger did not influence us more. Time after time he opposed the values of my parents. Yet he was seldom rebuked and never asked to leave. More than thirty years have passed since the stranger moved in with the young family on Morningside Drive.

He is not nearly so intriguing to my Dad as he was in those early years. But if I were to walk into my parents' den today, you would still see him sitting over in a corner, waiting for someone to listen to him talk and watch him draw his pictures.

His name you ask?

We called him TV.

It makes you think, doesn't it,
