He decided to announce it now, because he disagreed with his party's position on minarets.[/quote]Yeah he was a muslim before, he then spearheaded the movement to ban minarets and then again disagreed with his party's position on banning minarets. ![]() |
Allahu Akbar, May Allah (SWT) forgive him his past sins and make Islam easy for him. @gombo, if you dont know those names then I must say, welcome to the Islam for Muslim Section of Nairaland. Those people are the ex-family members of Daniel Streich, Alhamdulilah he is no longer with them. |
@ Muhsin, May Allah (SWT) reduce your dad's pains, forgive him his sins and grant him speedy recovery, Amin. |
@ OP, na today |

@ Nanai, looking critically at the situation, one will see that it is almost impossible to resolve except your dad softens. Like Abuzola said, I'll advice that you be prayerful cos there is nothing prayer cant solve and be patient cos its only a matter of time before you will be free from your dad's control and therefore be free to visit your mum. Also have a heart to heart conversation with your mum telling her how much you will love to see her regularly but to understand for now and let peace reign for the while you have to obey your dad. This is because if she decides to take the matter to court it could take as long as it will take for you to become independent. So for the short while, keep sneaking to her and be careful not to let your pops know about it ![]() May Allah make things easy for you and bestow on you happiness and peace of mind, amin. Maa Salam sis |
Mama Fayezik, One thing I admire my mum for is that she gave me a free hand and trusted me to act right after she had instilled in me the basics of morals. She allowed me bring home friends and party so far as I let her know before time and she has the IV too. Now that I am almost free of her, those things dont freak me and I'm no longer interested in the frivolities of the world. Essence of my post is that its those things our parents dont allow us do that most of us end up doing when we are free of them. Now my mum begs me to use make up which I'm not interested in, unlike when I just got of secondary school and I wanted to do all the hairstyles and polish my nails as many times as I could. May Allah help you raise your children to be righteous and successful, Amin. and, ehm, Mama I also need the prayers too, Jakakumlah Khayran in advance, |
Lagosboy:True, Surah Duha sure does suites the troubled mind. Telling your worries also helps, so far it is to the right person(s). Salam alaykum waramatulah wa barakatuhu to you sis. |
Any team that's got Osaze Odemwinge, Taye Taiwo, Obafemi Martins, Danny Shittu and that Uche guy is good for me ![]() |
The Caribbeans, ocean views have always been my dream place but if one is to think of the recent natural disasters, I think I'll stick to the Bar Beach view or any other ocean in Naija . |
@ Lagosboy, jazakallah khayran. May Allah who is the knower of all continue to increase you in knowledge and strengthen your soul with faith. |
Salam alaykum to all, There is a question that has been bugging my mind for a while. Should married women use hair attachments? I understand that the Prophet(pbuh) cursed women who use them cos a mother approached him to know if her daughter whose hair was scanty and about to get married could use attachments and he replied that it would be misrepresentation to the husband who would be fooled to believe that the attachment is his bride to be's hair. He therefore cursed women who use attachments. I don't know how far this is true but if it is so, could a married woman whose husband already knows how long her hair really is use attachments to make herself more appealing to her husband? I intend to look the best for my husband when I get married and I have been wondering if I could use hair attachments as one of my weapons to keep my husband drooling on me even as we age. ![]() Thanks, ma salaam |
Salam Nanai, Always keep in mind that nothing is too big for Allah to handle, all He need do is say 'be' and it is and He is aware of all things and has power over all. Ma Salam |
@op, u say the quran tells muslims to be terorists but you were only able to quote a verse from the quran. all the other quotes are not quran verses. the only verse you quoted (59:2) doesnt say muslims be terrorist but a revelavtion of an historical fact. upon your lengthy post, no point relating to your subject. gosh wont you ever relent ![]() |
@muhsin cant say I feel your pains cos its only you that knows how it hurts but I feel for you as a brother in Islam. May Alllah, Who tries His subjects as He wills and heals them when He wills with no assistance from any, grant you quick recovery and heal you permanently. @jarus Do not forget, patience is one of the virtues Allah loves in his subjects,God knows best. May Allah grant you the wife thats best for you and all the abundance there is in marriage. |
If the poster believes talking about hell and being warned against drinking and extramarital sex is depressing, then he better retrace his steps cos he does not want to hear the truth, one thing is for sure, Jesus(ASW) sure did preach them if they do not preach them in churches of today. I'm a muslim and am happy and fulfilled just as many other muslims. If a sect of people are misguided about the truth, it does not justify abandoning the truth. He has to be reoriented about Islam. Am also an ex-akokite and I did not hear or see any 'attacks' between sects except it just began. True, what happened to Farouk can happen to 'any other misguided devoted muslim youth' but every other thing he wrote is irrelevant to the topic. |
I do not know many of the verses everyone here has advised but I have had to seek protection in Allah through Quran verses though not on issues as serious as this. Whenever I have to , I just stick to the verses I know like the last three verses of the Quran and alhamduliLah, it always work for me. The essence of my post is that recitation of any verse of the Quran with faith also helps, it has always work for me. The little I know is through Allah's grace, may he continue to protect us and increase us in knowledge. Maa Salaam ![]() |

Salam Alaykum all, "There is no deed more precious in the sight of Allah, nor greater in reward, than a good deed done during the ten days of Sacrifice." He was asked, "Not even jihad for the sake of Allah?" He said, "Not even jihad for the sake of Allah, except in the case of a man who went out to fight giving himself and his wealth up for the cause, and came back with nothing." (authenticated by Al-Albani) |
alimat 2:If you'll take note, if you chew garlic or onion, your mouth will stink. So what the hadith advices is that those that take garlic and onion should not go to a mosque with a stinking mouth. As you may already know, it is advisable to brush before solat even when the mouth does not stink regardless of when the mouth stinks. maa salaam |
Salamalaykum, I'm Wulaimat, reach moi at ronkeenuf@gmail.com ![]() |
Na Wa o! when will all you christians and other non muslims alike get busy with your 'religions' and let 'Islam for Muslims' thread be? well its in the Quran: NEVER. We get to discuss the same ol topic over and over and over again still you will only believe what you will. o ga o. Anyways, believe what you will and I'll believe what I will. To you is your way and to me is mine. Every one will answer to their actions on the day of judgement, its just so sickening to visist an Islamic thread to get me some soul food and all I get is you are so wrong and you are so right. Alhamdulilah, I still get to understand Islam better despite the pocknosing. So thanks anyways for getting my mind working on some crucial issues about my religion.Salaamalaykum all my faithful muslim sisters and brothers in the house. Not to worry, e don better for us as we are muslims, the best of mankind, ![]() |
@ Jarus, great idea. May Allah reward you abundantly and all of those that will be present. Its a pity I won't be able to attend even though I live in Lagos : , like Abuzola, trafic won't let me. Anyways, I wish you all have a good time. ![]() |
Mine are Femi Sowoolu and Tokunbo Ojekunle of Radio Continental |
I have also experienced it, there are some ayat in the quran which when read, the reader and the listeners, if read aloud, would prostrate(sujuud). the kind of Quran I read has commentaries, I once read a part and the comments to that ayat explains that one should do sujuud afterwards. what I'm not 100% sure is if one should do sujuud when ayats like that are read during solat. Ma salaam |
Barka Juma'ah to all, remember no other religion like Islam, no special being like a muslim. You are the best to Allah and if He is pleased with you, it does not matter what others think. Be glad cos the end, which justifies the means, is bright. Keep smilling, keep shining cos even that is recorded as a good deed ![]() |
4 pages and no 'christian scholar' has come up with explanations of verses in the op, instead someone comes up with hadiths that reveals reality as opposing points small time time now all of you self proclaimed christian scholars will go to the ISLAM ONLY BOARD pasting fake or unresearched claims about Islam when you can't even defend your religion |
I read the post and I was close to crying for you osisi, like Abuzola said, Abuzola: |
sleek29:Olabowale is not one, there are many other Olabowales around just like Jesus is not one cos there are many other men who bear Jesus. if you read the post titled 'The Root Words of Allah" you would see that Allahuakbar can only best be translated in English as God is the greatest but in arabic there is no comparism. if you know a little about language and translation, you would not have a problem with understanding the word Allah. If the christians had a problem with calling God Allah in Arabic they would simpliy call him Illah. May kelly:Yeah right ![]() all of this is just a matter of fundamentals of tranlation and please lets not start repeating issues cos this is already discussed. |
A surah of the Quran that touches me deeply is Suratul Ikhlas. It has literal meanings and even deeper meanings. Muhsin Khan: Say (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)): "He is Allah, (the) One. 112:2 to top Muhsin Khan: "Allah-us-Samad (The Self-Sufficient Master, Whom all creatures need, He neither eats nor drinks). 112:3 to top Muhsin Khan: "He begets not, nor was He begotten; 112:4 to top Muhsin Khan: "And there is none co-equal or comparable unto Him." The first verse tells us Allah is one, the next verse says He depends on no one but every other being depends on Him alone(Allahuakbar). The 3rd makes me wonder the most,it never stops to awe me, there was none before Him, And He begets no one, this confirms the 1st verse. and the last verse says nothing, nothing is comparable to Him. this means no human can size up how magnificient He is, even our biggest thought is nothing near His magnititude, Subhanalah. forgive me for repeating already translated meanings but this is just how much I get fascinated ever since I knew the meaning of this suarah. Surely, Allah is great and He is far away from all forms of imperfectness. |
