@ Nanai,

looking critically at the situation, one will see that it is almost impossible to resolve except your dad softens. Like Abuzola said, I'll advice that you be prayerful cos there is nothing prayer cant solve and be patient cos its only a matter of time before you will be free from your dad's control and therefore be free to visit your mum. Also have a heart to heart conversation with your mum telling her how much you will love to see her regularly but to understand for now and let peace reign for the while you have to obey your dad. This is because if she decides to take the matter to court it could take as long as it will take for you to become independent. So for the short while, keep sneaking to her and be careful not to let your pops know about it wink

May Allah make things easy for you and bestow on you happiness and peace of mind, amin.

Mama Fayezik,

One thing I admire my mum for is that she gave me a free hand and trusted me to act right after she had instilled in me the basics of morals. She allowed me bring home friends and party so far as I let her know before time and she has the IV too. Now that I am almost free of her, those things dont freak me and I'm no longer interested in the frivolities of the world. Essence of my post is that its those things our parents dont allow us do that most of us end up doing when we are free of them. Now my mum begs me to use make up which I'm not interested in, unlike when I just got of secondary school and I wanted to do all the hairstyles and polish my nails as many times as I could.

May Allah help you raise your children to be righteous and successful, Amin.

and, ehm, Mama I also need the prayers too, Jakakumlah Khayran in advance,

Lagosboy:
Sister please recite surah duha and sharh "Alam nashrahalak sadrak . . . . ." after every salah of yours. They are surahs that was revealed to the Prophet when he was sad, it helps depression and a look at the meaning of the verses will reflect it. May your burden be lightened. Also why not state your problem here , in case you could get good advice from people, i presume you are already anonymous or you could even be more anonymous by sending a message to jarusnairaland@yahoo.com. Its better to get quality advice plus dua as good fruitful advice could be a result of the dua.
True, Surah Duha sure does suites the troubled mind. Telling your worries also helps, so far it is to the right person(s).
Salam alaykum waramatulah wa barakatuhu to you sis.

Salam alaykum to all, There is a question that has been bugging my mind for a while. Should married women use hair attachments? I understand that the Prophet(pbuh) cursed women who use them cos a mother approached him to know if her daughter whose hair was scanty and about to get married could use attachments and he replied that it would be misrepresentation to the husband who would be fooled to believe that the attachment is his bride to be's hair. He therefore cursed women who use attachments. I don't know how far this is true but if it is so, could a married woman whose husband already knows how long her hair really is use attachments to make herself more appealing to her husband?

I intend to look the best for my husband when I get married and I have been wondering if I could use hair attachments as one of my weapons to keep my husband drooling grin grin on me even as we age.  wink

Thanks, ma salaam

If the poster believes talking about hell and being warned against drinking and extramarital sex is depressing, then he better retrace his steps cos he does not want to hear the truth, one thing is for sure, Jesus(ASW) sure did preach them if they do not preach them in churches of today. I'm a muslim and am happy and fulfilled just as many other muslims. If a sect of people are misguided about the truth, it does not justify abandoning the truth. He has to be reoriented about Islam. Am also an ex-akokite and I did not hear or see any 'attacks' between sects except it just began. True, what happened to Farouk can happen to 'any other misguided devoted muslim youth' but every other thing he wrote is irrelevant to the topic.

I do not know many of the verses everyone here has advised but I have had to seek protection in Allah through Quran verses though not on issues as serious as this. Whenever I have to , I just stick to the verses I know like the last three verses of the Quran and alhamduliLah, it always work for me. The essence of my post is that recitation of any verse of the Quran with faith also helps, it has always work for me.

The little I know is through Allah's grace, may he continue to protect us and increase us in knowledge.

@bro muhsin, Pls i dnt understand the last post.
If you'll take note, if you chew garlic or onion, your mouth will stink. So what the hadith advices is that those that take garlic and onion should not go to a mosque with a stinking mouth. As you may already know, it is advisable to brush before solat even when the mouth does not stink regardless of when the mouth stinks.

Na Wa o! when will all you christians and other non muslims alike get busy with your 'religions' and let 'Islam for Muslims' thread be? huh well its in the Quran: NEVER. We get to discuss the same ol topic over and over and over again still you will only believe what you will. o ga o. Anyways, believe what you will and I'll believe what I will. To you is your way and to me is mine. Every one will answer to their actions on the day of judgement, its just so sickening to visist an Islamic thread to get me some soul food and all I get is you are so wrong and you are so right. Alhamdulilah, I still get to understand Islam better despite the pocknosing. So thanks anyways for getting my mind working on some crucial issues about my religion.

Salaamalaykum all my faithful muslim sisters and brothers in the house. Not to worry, e don better for us as we are muslims, the best of mankind, wink cool

I have also experienced it, there are some ayat in the quran which when read, the reader and the listeners, if read aloud, would prostrate(sujuud). the kind of Quran I read has commentaries, I once read a part and the comments to that ayat explains that one should do sujuud afterwards. what I'm not 100% sure is if one should do sujuud when ayats like that are read during solat. IslamRe: What Does Allah Mean, God Or The god Please Explain by ronkeenuf(f): 10:58am On Jul 22, 2009
sleek29:
You spoke the truth Illah means God while Allah or Al-illah means The-God, that makes it easy for me, why would there it be the God and not just ''God'' putting the in front of a title means you have others with that same title like the arabs before mohammed had al-illat (the goddess) ,al-uzza,al-manat (satanic verses).and you're supposed to say God' and not ''The God'' as i can not say ''The olabowale'' but just ''olabowale'' because its just one of you but i can say'' the man'' as there are lots of men around

The word ''God'' is a title which belongs to one alone and so you can't put ''The'' in front of it (simple english) except ur using it to describe something(attribute) for example The God of creation(which still makes it sound as though you have other gods, its still supposed to be ''God of creation'', when you chant allahu akbar it means the God is the greatest not God is great which places God on a level not comparable to any other as the first and actual statement muslims make everyday is that some gods are great but he's the greatest

You can say long live the king because there are lots of kings but its wrong to say ''the God'' all the time as we cant say ''the Jesus''.

and you were saying things like ''the illah of fertility''(notice you put ''the'' in front of it making it allah) but when you say ''God of fertility'', you can then say ''God of creation'' as if you do you referring to the same one but if you want to make the distinction you say ''The god of fertility'' and ''the god of creation'' that tells me you're talking about two people.

and olorun does not mean ''the God'' but means ''Heavenly being, someone who's above every other'' orun means heaven and olorun means ''Heavenly'' which is an adjective, and when you say olorun-mi it can be translated as ''My Heavenly Father'' or Olorunwa ''Our Heavenly Father''

Oluwa can be translated as ''God'' without ''The'' in front of it, for example'' ti oluwa ni ile, ati gbogbo ekun re'' All things belong to God and not all things belong to The God.

allah is not God but the god
Olabowale is not one, there are many other Olabowales around just like Jesus is not one cos there are many other men who bear Jesus. if you read the post titled 'The Root Words of Allah" you would see that Allahuakbar can only best be translated in English as God is the greatest but in arabic there is no comparism. if you know a little about language and translation, you would not have a problem with understanding the word Allah. If the christians had a problem with calling God Allah in Arabic they would simpliy call him Illah.

May kelly:
don't make matter worst. allah in mus.lim is never God. but Allah in Christian without sharia is Mighty God.
Yeah right undecided

all of this is just a matter of fundamentals of tranlation and please lets not start repeating issues cos this is already discussed.
IslamRe: Muslims: What's Your Favorite Ayah Or Surah In The Quran? by ronkeenuf(f): 11:44am On Jul 17, 2009
A surah of the Quran that touches me deeply is Suratul Ikhlas. It has literal meanings and even deeper meanings.

Muhsin Khan: Say (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)): "He is Allah, (the) One.
112:2
to top
Muhsin Khan: "Allah-us-Samad (The Self-Sufficient Master, Whom all creatures need, He neither eats nor drinks).
112:3
to top
Muhsin Khan: "He begets not, nor was He begotten;
112:4
to top
Muhsin Khan: "And there is none co-equal or comparable unto Him."

The first verse tells us Allah is one, the next verse says He depends on no one but every other being depends on Him alone(Allahuakbar). The 3rd makes me wonder the most,it never stops to awe me, there was none before Him, And He begets no one, this confirms the 1st verse. and the last verse says nothing, nothing is comparable to Him. this means no human can size up how magnificient He is, even our biggest thought is nothing near His magnititude, Subhanalah. forgive me for repeating already translated meanings but this is just how much I get fascinated ever since I knew the meaning of this suarah. Surely, Allah is great and He is far away from all forms of imperfectness.
