This advice may come too late for the OP, but I have a general word of advice to budding fathers out there.

Too many wives stylishly exploit the distance between kids and their fathers. You work so hard and sacrifice so much in your most productive years, while the vacuum that’s created robs you of a lasting bond with your children.

For budding fathers out their, build that relationship with your kids. Deal with them directly as much you can. Let them see/know the sacrifices you are making. Pay for things directly, let them get money from you directly rather than always through ‘mummy’. Bond with them. Mothers can be manipulative and cynical. For the worst of the women, you will only find out how devious when it’s too late, when you’re well past your most productive years

Also, keep some money for your own well-being. Travel, have fun, rest! You will die and your wife will move on, with all you have worked and died for!

Yes. One battalion can comprise up to 1000 soldiers. Yes, a modern force of 1000 soldiers can defeat the rag tag Nigerian forces. These will comprise of special operatives and forces such as army rangers unit. Drop the MOAB at the centre of the core troops and anyone within 5 miles radius has their air-drums destroyed. The Nigerian air assets will be destroyed on the ground. We can’t even defend against rag-tag BH. Radars will be jammed. Modern air defence capabilities are at another level. Our archaic command-and-control systems will be destroyed. Psyops will be in play. This is the classic ‘kill the shepherd’ doctrine. The rank and file will desert. Modern warfare is not about numbers. That’s why Saddam’s forces of 2.3M troops were destroyed in record time (despite their relative professionalism). This is the basis for military coups. Whole brigades are demobilised by a few committed troops who know where to go!

Also, The Nigeria military today is grossly overrated. You just don’t realise how deep nepotism and unprofessionalism have eaten up the forces.

I convinced him to invest his money in any western country instead.
