One Nigeria is good for business.

Thank you very much my brother.

If you a serious-minded business person or intending business person, the last thing you want to hear is 'Biafra'.

Why cut your home market from 210 million to 40 or 50 million?

Economically, it makes no sense, especially as other nations are putting up trade barriers to protect their local industries. So you need YOUR local market to be as big as possible.

Politics / ''One Nigeria IS What I Want'' - Chief Allen Onyema - Air Peace CEO by rosinkkit: 8:43pm On Aug 18, 2021
CEO of West Africa's biggest airline, Air Peace, Chief Allen Onyema, has forcefully declared his backing for ONE NIGERIA and is calling on all secessionist miscreants to look for better ways to engage their time.

Let’s have Hope In One Nigeria – Air Peace CEO

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Air Peace Airline, Mr Allen Onyema, has called on Nigerians to have hope in one Nigeria.

Onyema made the call on Tuesday in Ibadan during an inaugural flight of Air Peace Airline at Ibadan airport.

He stressed that there was need for every citizen to work toward sustaining the unity of the country, saying Nigerians don’t have any other country.

“We might have injustice and inequity in the land; even in our families we have injustice and inequity, we cannot address this injustice and inequity through violence or promoting rancour or things that will tear our families apart.

“Likewise, I want everyone of us to take Nigeria same way; we can jointly and collectively address our shortcomings peacefully as a nation,’’ he stated.

The CEO further charged Nigerians to contribute their quota to the oneness and unity of the nation through individual actions.

Onyema commended Gov. Seyi Makinde of Oyo State for attracting investors to the state, stressing that the inaugural flight was the product of the governor's efforts.

In his remarks, Makinde said his administration would continue to upgrade facilities at the Ibadan airport till it assumes international standard.

Makinde, who also inaugurated the Airport Protocol Lounge rehabilitated by the state government, disclosed that contract for the construction of an aviation fuel facility at the airport had been awarded.

He said the facility would enable airline operators to use Ibadan as their operational base.

The governor said the state would also ensure that the airport serves as an immediate alternative to the Lagos airport in case of weather or other challenges.

The governor expressed optimism that the commencement of air flight operations by Air Peace airline at Ibadan, would promote the economy of the state.

The Airport Manager, Mrs Tega Aiyenuro, said the Ibadan airport, been the only airport close to the Murtala Mohammed International Airport Lagos, was a viable alternative for flights to any part of the nation and the world.

She called on other airline operators to come to Ibadan airport for business.

I guess Chief Allen Onyema, a man who made his wealth and built/expanded his airline by operating a Pan-Nigerian route, serving a 210 million strong market - Africa's largest - knows the value of One Nigeria for the BUSINESS COMMUNITY, far more than IPOB scoundrels.

THIS IS ACTUALLY VERY GOOD NEWS.

IT SHOWS THAT THINGS ARE HAPPENING ABOVE BOARD.

IF THIS WAS A CORRUPT DEAL, THE AIRLINE WOULD HAVE STARTED WITHOUT THE RIGHT GROUNDWORK/FRAMEWORK/MANAGEMENT INFRASTRUCTURE ETC, LOW QUALITY PLANES PURCHASED AT EXORBITANT RATES ETC, AND FLOPPED IN 6 MONTHS.

THIS LONG-DRAWN OUT PROCESS IS A CASE OF CROSSING THE Ts AND DOTTING THE Is. DUE DILIGENCE. NEGOTIATIONS. HOLDING OUT FOR THE BEST DEAL.

THIS IS WHAT A PROPER DEAL LOOKS LIKE.

TO SET UP A MAJOR INTERNATIONAL AIRLINE IS NOT A 6 MONTHS THING.

IT TAKES YEARS OF PLANNING AND STRATEGISING.

YOU PEOPLE SHOULD HAVE REALISED BUHARI'S PHILOSOPHY BY NOW, WHICH IS ''RATHER WE DON'T DO IT, THAN DO IT IN A MAGO-MAGO WAY THAT FCKS UP LATER''.

KUDOS MR PRESIDENT.

The west fear Nigerian influence. Nigeria is the giant of Africa. The cultural and economic beacon of the continent. If he was from Liberia or Ghana they would have honoured him, and signed him to their biggest clubs.

He is NIGERIAN, and they couldn't stand to see a NIGERIAN become the best player in the world, as he surely would have been, had he joined Real Madrid or Barcelona, where he belonged, playing among his peers.

Afghanistan: "We Must Never Rely On America Or The International Community To Defend Our Nation" - FFK

Femi Fani-Kayode took to his Instagram handle to share lessons to be learnt from the situation in Afghanistan as the Taliban insurgents take over the presidential palace in Kabul, IgbereTV reports.

The Taliban succeeded in overthrowing the Afghanistan government after the U.S. withdrew their troops following a 20-year occupation.

He wrote:

For once I agree with FFK.

The US spent 2.4 trillion dollars in Afghanistan in 20 years, lost thousands of lives, and it ended in defeat and chaos for the Americans.

It's a monumental humiliation and embarrassment for the US.

Any country that relies on the US army, or any western army - to 'save' them from their problems, well, you have your lesson here.

They withdrew on the claim that they had sufficiently trained and equipped the Afghan army with their 2.4 trillion dollars over 20 years. The Afghan military however, were found to be ill-equipped, and unable to withstand the Taliban firepower and ferocity, and crumbled in a month of conflict.

THAT is a major US failure and embarrassment in international circles.

Terrible defeat and international embarrassment for the USA as their troops and embassy staff FLEE Kabul, after Taliban forces defeat US-trained Afghan army.

An estimated 2.4 TRILLION dollars spent by the US in Afghanistan over the last 20 years goes up in flames, chaos, and embarrassing defeat!

Okocha has always been a very deadly midfielder, and his world class skills were used to create space and destabilize/demoralise the opposition.

Go and watch his games for Fenebahche, where he is still regarded as a god to this day. Or Eintracht Frankfurt and PSG. His skills shone, but with highly effective purpose and results.

Abeg shut up. Did the leaders drop from the sky? They are Nigerians like you. Their moral values are your moral values. They enrich themselves for the same reason you would if you were in their shoes - to meet the 'expectations' of family and friends including mum, dad, children, wives, cousins, nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, kinsmen, and various associates who see government appointment as a ticket to instant, 'stupendous' riches.

If you hold public office and don't enrich yourself accordingly, you are widely derided and ostracised by those close to you, including your own children.

Until THAT mentality is curbed from the POPULATION, do not expect your leaders to be any different from YOU.

Well said.

You captured my exact line of thinking.

I have said it again and again, if by some miracle biafra gets that independence, I will pack my things and move to ibadan.

Unless they can show me a short term plan and a long term plan, I’m talking 50-100 year plan for moulding a country if they happen to get that independence.

Kanu is a coward. He spits bile from the comfort of his british parlor but feigns sickness now that he is looking his demons in the eye.

And quite unfortunately, if you survey the east, majority of his followers and agitators are uneducated, poor and they cannot tell you what system of government is being run currently. All they know and do is shout biafra.

I support a full military occupation of the east in the event that kanu dies in detention and a riot is threatening to break out.

You can’t strategize and win ordinary presidency, it is secession you think will work? No!

I feel you guys. Most educated/intelligent Igbos like yourself know the Biafra thing is a fraud. I think Kanu should be investigated for financial links to shady foreign businessmen looking to corner the delta oil, using the guise of ''Igbo self determination''.

I feel there is some foreign funding for his activities.

Dumbo, you no get brain?

Human civilization and development is a continuum that does not stop with one race or nationality or region. Africa cannot be expected to lead FOREVER. No race leads forever. All rise and fall and others take over from where they left off.

The modern world is existing as a result of contributions from ALL corners of the Earth, past and present.

The Industrial Revolution happened in Europe in the 18th century. Barely 300 years ago.

Prior to that was thousands of years of ingenuity and developments upon which that revolution was based.

Without those earlier advancements, in writing, mathematics, sciences, alchemy, mining of minerals, seafaring, architecture, trade, medicine, philosophy, laws, etc - which all began in Africa, there would be no industrial revolution, and no modern world, so it is wrong to see modern technology as solely ''the white man's'' achievement.

It is HUMANITY'S achievement.

Stop reasoning like a toddler who walks by a grand mansion and sees a couple of guys painting the exterior, and you shout ''those two men built that mansion!''
