Noerection:Forget these guys. Since dem kill soldiers, they have been peddling tales to gain public sympathy and justify the killings. Its more of evasive tactics to stop the army from doing their work. |
Noerection:If na IPOB terrorist he be, dem must carry am na. I remember Abdulmutalab, he came from a well to do home but chose terrorism and met his Waterloo. The fact you are Doctor doesn’t make your son immune to criminal association. If u no train your child well, na so he go be. |
jmoore:Useless IPOB terrorists propagandists who feed on deceit and talebearing. Even a blind man can see that no semblance between the picture sent and the story peddled. |
dododawa1:The terrorists IPOB people have filled cyberspace disturbing people’s peace. Person no fit enter nairaland see better thing na the thread of jobless people in the name of IPOB terrorists. |
gidgiddy:Your brothers don kill soldiers and you are happy. So why disturbing the cyberspace with mumu stories. Go and celebrate and stop trying to justify why the soldiers were killed. Enjoy your sit at home, unknown gunmen and the criminalities of your brothers. Enjoy. |
Afonja007:What is the correlation between Northern Nigeria and former army chiefs owning properties. Are all the retired army chiefs Northerners? And even at that what law stops them from owning good properties. |
Afonja007:Just leave Northern Nigeria out of your rubbish talk oh. If na army you wan abuse na your business. But just leave us alone. Any little issue you will start dragging the north. The north really appreciates the sacrifice of these gentlemen who have taken the courage to sacrifice their lives for the Region and country rather than take up other civilian jobs. |
geoworldedu:The winners will be decided on the last days of the league. Arsenal have dealt with their biggest issue which was Zinchenko by getting Kiwior to play the left back position. They have also augmented the lack of potent centre forward by getting more attack midfielders to play together, thus using one stone to kill 2 birds(Dominate the midfielders and score goals). Arteta really made good use of the mid-season Dubai training trip to identify gaps and reorganise the team. Arsenal is certainly the most feared team in the league. Hervertz has brought alot of quality to the team. Someone said he's now the Diego Costa of Arsenal. Timber, Patey and Tomiyasu will soon be available to the team to add quality to what is already on ground. It won't be easy to win the league, considering the form of Man City and Liverpool but it's possible. I watched the disappointment on Hallands face after the match with Man City. Though they have a match in hand, even if the win, they will only climb to second position. |
pansophist:Highly expected. Let them join their francophone brothers and let Nigeria strengthen ties with its anglophone brothers(Guinea, Ghana, Liberia, The Gambia, Sierra Leone etc) |
HonNL:Smart guy. He prefers an absentee president to a decisive one. Trump is day and do. The fear of Trump is the beginning of wisdom. |
Samekaog:If they succeed, then good for them. It’s high time Nigeria focuses on itself and leave other nations to their problems. |
hammer567:We dont need military coups. Southern African countries never had military juntas, yet they are doing well. What we need is to return back to pre-1967 parliamentary system of government or practice a mixed system of government as is done in the USA. Nigeria is a 3rd world country and very big in terms of population and landmass. This has made governing the country from the centre very hard and impossible. Issues like policing, wealth creation, job creation, criminal laws etc should be handled by the states. They should harness their resources and find investors. They should handle universities, health care and education. The federal government should only concern with national security and national economy. Imagine a state making its anti terrorism and criminal laws to suit prevailing challenges. Imagine a Rivers state handling of ts resources and only paying tax to FG. Zamfara will handle its gold and pay tax etc. That useless mentality of robbing Peter to pay Paul will end and our governors will sit tight and start exploiting their potentials. Youths won’t run to Abuja to look for jobs but rather hold their state governors accountable. Nigeria is too big and so backward to run a presidential system. The FG has too much responsibilities. At least you won’t have to cry that they are releasing terrorists back to society in your state when probably the law proffers death sentence by firing squad. This is the beauty of a State system. Nigerian situation is never hopeless and out of control, just that those in power have failed to do the right things which are not abstract. If Goodluck Jonathan has ensured the passage of CONFAB report, by now, Nigeria would have been over prosperous. Even the electricity we are crying about would be handled by states. |
Normal trick by military juntas to deceive the people. Severing ties with their oppressors is good. However, they can’t hide the fact that the motivation for seizing power is to gain control of the nations wealth for personal aggrandizement. I pity those who feel these guys will do any better. Sooner or later, we would start hearing of repression, victimization, witch-hunts etc all in a bid to hold on to power forever. I only pity Nigeria which have played big brother to these nonentities in the past and intervened to ensure decent living for them through the ECOWAS bloc. Now that Nigeria is facing her problems and probably doesn’t have much charity to make, they feel they can disrespect the country. These are the same countries that for years failed to pay their dues to the ECOWAS. In fact the French West African countries have contributed immensely to the backwardness of ECOWAS in the past. They frustrated the establishment of single currency(eco) in west Africa and also frustrated inter regional and sub-regional trade within member states. The same countries that could not agree as members of G5 Sahel to fight terrorism on a common ground are talking of forming a bloc. Let them go! What have we ever benefited from them? It would be foolish for ECOWAS to persuade them. That useless Benin Republic have shown their true color by aligning with their francophone brothers. God willing we would rise from the ashes into a great nation that we supposed to be. Let us face our own problems and stop playing big brother to these nations. We should build stronger ties with the Anglophone West African countries. At least Guinea showed character by not joining them. This is an opportunity for us to breathe. |
All these carriers of fake news. So if the government converts all dollars to Naira, then what happens if the currency doesn’t stabilize as expected? The best thing is to work on better policies to boost economy and not venture into uncertainties. Na the citizens cause the problem, wey na the citizens wan pay d price. How many common Nigerians were part of the devaluation of the Naira? I don’t think the government will convert people’s dollars into Naira. It’s even a wrong gamble at this time. It’s better they continue working on improving the economy, once this is achieved, they can then work on policies that discourage foreign currency hoarding. I don’t even know why persons can’t use their Naira master card abroad to withdraw foreign currency for use. Even some international transactions are not possible using Nigerian issued cards.

For Gods sake why can’t we allow these Eagles to do their thing in peace. Always putting them under pressure at critical times in competitions. The same Eagles that were abused and ridiculed are trying to do things right and now they are being put under unnecessary pressure. Is this the first time Nigeria is meeting Angola since Okwaraji (may his soul RIP) passed on? |
I think the judiciary in Nigeria have not played their part in the security of the nation, while the political will is also weak. I say this because there is no definite punishment for kidnappers, non state actors, persons caught with illegal arms and collaborators of these acts. For instance during the military era if you are caught for robbery or illegal arms possession, the law was firing squad. In Saudi Arabia if you are caught with drugs, you will die. In These laws served as deterrents and the consequences sent shivers down the spines of citizens such that they shunned such vices. Right now in the country, we are wasting tax payers money keeping killers in prisons to serve terms and return back to their past more deadly. While the judiciary are cashing out by defending these guys in court. For Gods sake what is so hard for the 3 arms of government, particularly the judiciary to push for strong criminal justice against these vices. If we make firing squad a definitive punishment for criminality in Nigeria, I bet no lawyer will be able to defend a criminal in court and it will assist the security agencies in doing their work, knowing that those they catch will face capital punishment. The situation in Nigeria is not out of hand, just that we have not handled it the right way. Security agencies just need to do 30 percent while the bulk rests with the 3 arms of government. In Botswana with a population of 2 million, their biggest threat is poaching, so they set boundaries where citizens should not cross. Once you are caught in that area, the security agencies will kill you and take your corpse to your family because you are a potential poacher. These are my views and I will appreciate inputs on this matter. |
mrvitalis:Make dem come carry you make you teach them the tactics? What do you want them to do again? Is it not obvious that the person talking is trying to coordinate the tactical plan and ensure the other soldiers follow his lead and the plan? Forget all those things you see on tv. The real battle is not as coordinated as the American movies you watch. At the end of it all, it’s what works to bring success that you will adopt when the chips are down. If you know better, why not join up and teach what you know better. |
ObiCertificate:All this is nothing. The pictures with Ooni and Buhari were taken when he wasn’t president. The one with Obj was taken as President. You don’t expect him to stoop low when he has what he was aiming for as depicted in the first 2 pictures. Obj and Tinubu are great in their own right. Nevertheless, Obj set the precedence for sustainable democracy in Nigeria. Though controversial and painful, he showed all military politicians the exit door in order to pave the way for civilian politicians to succeed. Unfortunately, they have bastardized the democratic Process with corruption, nepotism and tribalism as never witnessed before. |
God bless the Nigerian military. Only men with balls, guts and courage can serve in the military. Just see as bullet dey fly up and down. One hit and someone is gone forever. Sacrificing ones today for another’s tomorrow. God bless your efforts and crown it with success. |
accordadoga25:Better look for something better to do with your life, instead of wasting your time looking for fame. |
Khyrvxjzy:I don't know what Peter Obi has done to you and your family that you are exhibiting hatred for him. Well, you must not like him but you can't stop him from aspiring to be president of Nigeria. If its God's will that he becomes president in future, then it will happen and there's nothing you can do about it. It's all this rubbish that have caused serious division and destruction of national cohesion in the country. That notion that a group of persons or an individual cannot rule Nigeria only shows how archaic we think. We need to learn how Rwanda rose from the shadows of inter ethnic genocide to foster national unity, cohesion and development. |

Hoelujohn:Thank you my brother for this taughful post. Sometimes, we fail to understand that these soldiers come from amongst us and don’t fall from the sky. They are peoples husband, father, uncle, brother and sister, who have mortgaged their life for this country. The suffering the masses are suffering does not exempt them, the only difference is that we the civilians don’t have to risk their life. Now going to my contribution on this matter, the soldier was wrong breaking the law and if found guilty, should be meted punishment commensurate to his offense. However, the governor was wrong in his conduct, considering the man identified himself as a soldier. In fact, even if he was not a soldier, he doesn’t deserve such treatment. There’s been a lot of one sided judgement on this matter which aims at exonerating the governor. This is the kind of behavior that have led Nigeria backwards over the years. It’s either you see a politician trying to support another politician without recourse to the dangers of his action on the masses or just one thing or the other. Look at the issue between Wike and Fubara and you will feel pity for this country. An ex governor is trying to control a sitting governor and a lot of folks have thrown their weight on the treasonable behavior of the ex governor. The soldier was wrong and deserves punishment through the appropriate channels if proven guilty, the governor was also wrong in the manner he executed the arrest, period. Even soldiers who face firing squad are treated with respect before they are deleted. After all, the governor was spotted same day taking one way and it was not deemed a big deal. Though I know the junior ranks amongst the military and other armed agencies, tend to be overbearing in some instances, of which myself am a victim, but it still doesn’t take the fact that the governors action is also condemnable. Going forward, government need to impose stiff penalties for one way defaulters, make roads motorable and make fuel affordable. If they play their part well, both sides will be balanced. |
Fujiyama:Bros, it’s only in Nigeria that there is nothing special in soldiering, that’s why the soldiers are not giving any special result. If you are sincere in your comments, you would have also quoted the part where I wrote against the disgraceful manner the governor went about the arrest. In civilized climes, he would be the bigger looser. Though the soldier would be punished, but I bet you the governor would have to offer apologies for the manner in which he conducted the arrest, making derogatory comments and insulting the soldiers father. He may even be forced to resign. Just imagine this video trending on CNN or Aljazeera. In the USA, a policeman lost his job for malhandling a soldier who committed an offense. Try travel out and see things for yourself. Soldiering job is the biggest sacrifice anyone can make in life. In Nigeria, it’s even like committing suicide being a soldier, considering the challenges on ground. Let Nigerian soldiers be treated with respect. Not everyone has the courage to be a soldier. Afterall, many of those taking one way are doing so to minimize fuel due to the high cost and you know that. It’s only politicians that are not feeling the heat, even business men are not finding it funny. I am not against punishing the soldier oh, because I have seen how orderly things are done in the west and I wish they could be done in Nigeria. However, the dehumanizing manner the arrest was carried out pissed me off. |
Dynamicboss:. Is this how civilized government officials treat their soldiers in civilized countries? He has the right to order arrest of the soldier for breaking the law, but the man is being manhandled by the governors security detail, while the governor himself is making abusive comments including the soldiers father. People that have never been to the civilized countries will be spilling nonsense. If it’s in civilized country both the soldier and the governor will be punished. Infact, the governor will be made to resign in disgrace for his disgraceful conduct. |
Arteta is to blame for all the woes. He is a good coach but seems to be a tyrant. Very soon, the players would rebel against him because he seems to be coaching based on sentiments. How can one explain his benching of Ramsdale and refusal to use Smith Rowe. The team also lacks squad depth and no reliable centre forward. Right now he does not have a reliever for that underperforming Zinchenko and even the centre backs do not have competent relievers. Infact, the whole first team do not have relievers, which is not good for any team at this period of a season. He kept using out of form Martinelli and confined Trossard to the bench such that he has lost confidence and form. He is a good coach and bad manager. |
kooyanbliss: This part of your story made me laugh hard. Omo na woman slap make u c stars? But on a serious note, it seems the lady loves you but just feel insecure to the extent of abusing you. You also loose guard and beat her up. At this point, you need to discuss the relationship with her and make a decision to continue or leave. It appears you don't communicate with her on pressing issues and instead try to chicken out during misunderstandings instead of finding how to resolve it. This have caused her to find other means of getting your attention, including slapping you. However, if she continues peddling your name as a woman beater, just cut off before she destroys anything left of your reputation. Remember, the society we leave in always believe the womans version of the story. Channel your time and energy towards building yourself and creating wealth and you would get the respect you deserve. Stop lousying around and waiting for a woman you are not married to take care of your financial needs. |

Why didnt she simply leave him and marry her ex since he's not good for her. What was she still looking for from a man thats not good for her. Marriage no be by force. Jennyclay: |
I can't be emotional now and start hauling abuses and insults on the man, even though I know that majority of men are useless. I will have my opinion on this when I hear the man side of the story. There must be a reason for every action. Don't be fóolish to take side ,not untill you hear from the both side and then |
