Please help me out with ideas on how I can minimize cost on tiling of my 4 bedroom apartment.I need advice on how to reduce cost of tiling.The tiling area is approximate 300sqm.I am based in fct.is it advisable to tile only the kitchen floor and leave the wall bare?
I have screeded the kitchen already.
For the toilet,can I do half wall tiling?
I really need to save cost so as to have money to do toilets fittings and lightning
What materials do I need for tiling to be complete?
My tiling budget is 750k can it finish the work?

You are very good to go with the said amount.


Use Nigeria made Tiles for the project.

- Use Nigeria made tiles size 60*60 for the sittingroom, dining/ any open lobby to the mentioned area.
- Use Nigeria wall tiles for all the toilets wall from ground to the door level area ... size 25*40.
-Also do same for the kitchen wall size 25*40
-Also Nigeria good floor tiles for all the toilet floor ( mom slippery type) size 30*30
- All rooms should be 40*40 floor tiles good grade also.

Mixed plaster sand with cement at ratio 1:3 for the wall tiling.

I kuku have the tools here in my garage in Ibadan. My artisans will use it for a minute and dump it. I use it for small small projects myself in the garden.

Is the owner insisting on the 3d?
What is on ground is very different from the 3d, even the right side, we can see a lot of cantilevered walls. Altering the existing the structure to the 3d may cause structural defects as regards reinforcements

Yes the client want something close to the 3D, reason why we are removing only one column from side A and B the remaining 2 columns is enough to carry the straight beam at the approach view.
Then we will work on the others finishings area to looks close to the 3D ( tiling, painting, land scaping etc.

But the approach view is totally different to what is on Ground but we need to do some amendments
To bring back something close to the 3D.

Which makes me to ask “Must we tile all the kitchen or just the wet areas?”

If yes, why?

I didn’t do that in my personal build and Buhari has not arrested me and I’ve never had to complain about using very expensive tiles.

I have the dry and wet areas in the kitchen.

Actually it’s not compulsory to tiled all the wall both the wet and the dry area but at times when client want it tiled all round nothing you can do than to do so.
I did this halve tiled about 5-6yrs ago for a member here and it’s looks nice. Not only him I have done many like that too.

But this doesn’t fit some building o truly.

The cutting wall window then was 55k while the regular casement window was done for 32k then
