A readymade man is that man that has achieved above-average financial status (+ more). He is that guy that knows he has MOST things a typical woman would like. He knows that his possessions are his baits without which the ladies won't come. so therefore, those that come rushing and professing love are doing so because of his status. He's that guy that feels he has the right to beat up his woman, collect his car keys from her and kick her out of his house and he's sure she won't leave him because he's MADE. He's that man that treats his woman like one of his possession.... do I keep going on? |
I have watched some movies in which she starred, I was utterly disgusted with the 'bush' way she went about exposing her boobs. I can confidently say that she is all boobs and no brains. It's funny she's now blaming her bad image on the producers. They knew she was not brainy! There was one particular scene where half of her boobs were exposed from the top and she was busy jumping and down, 'bra-less'. The truth of the matter is that there a lot of girls who are ready to do anything just to feature in any home video. Initially they don't complain until they attain stardom. I laugh, She says she into her own production now and would be taking a movie to the censors board for approval. I wonder how many people are going to buy it? Even those that would eventually, would ask for their money back when they see no 'boobs exposé' because that's all she has to offer. We should remove the shafts from the grains. If we want to watch x-rated movies, we know where to go to.The other day, a beauty pagent contender, who happened to be a graduate of Interior Decor, was asked which color of rug would she use in decorating the staircase in a bungalow and she confidently said COLOUR RED. Of course she lost some points because she didn't think. What business does a staircase have with a bungalow and where would it lead to? Cossy is in the same category as the beauty queen. |
It has become a common thing in Nigeria especially with people from the southern part of the country being the major victims. The bottom line is poverty. What is a family that is unable to comfortably feed twice daily do? When feeding is a major problem, how will education and other necessities of life be taken care of? From interaction and other peoples experiences, I have come to realise that most of these kids have lost human feeling. They have gone through all sorts dehumanising experiences. This has made them to be wicked. There are so many real life stories to corroborate this. One of my colleagues caught his male househelp putting his d**K his her baby's mouth (better imagined, eh?). A friend's 2 kids are HIV positive because their female househelp was using her own toothbrush to brush their teeth (imagine!). A colleague who gave birth last year had to get one just before her maternity leave expired, she had to subject the help to an HIV test and BINGO, she came out positive. If you want more real life tales, I can go on and on. I have a young in my house who I won't term as a househelp though she helps take care of my kids. She's actually my wife's relative whose parents are very poor. We had to bring to Port Harcourt from the village and all she does is: clean up the house in the morning; go to school and on her return she stays with my kids; attend evening lessons for 2hours when my wife gets back home. She's virtually part of the family. When I buy things for my kids, she gets something also. |
Hi, My contribution may sound CRUDE. You just have to move on! It's just impossible to keep a long distance relationship WHEN YOU ARE NOT ALREADY MARRIED unless we want to deceive ourselves! No matter the pledge the two parties make, if marriage is not done within a short time, regret is always the result! I was in a similar situation. She was going to the States and I was back here working. I had a beautiful job in the oil & gas sector, I tried convincing her to stay but her mind was made up despite the love she professed. We were in touch professing love for about a year. But to be frank, we both knew that the 'train' of the relationship was running out of steam. This took us to the next level of questioning the reduction in the numbers of calls exchanged. At a point I had to tell her that it ain't working out. We were but hurt but life goes on and time healeth all. She's happily married now and so am I with 2 lovely kids. We are still good friends. MAHI, be strong, don't be deceived for there's a better guy for you out there. You will find him only when you search and let go of the past for it is slowing your pace down. Remain blessed. |
We seem to have a shameless bunch as leaders in Nigeria. The clown (Dariye) was arrested in the UK, jumped bail by returning home and still seats in Jos as the Executive Governor of the state! What moral justification does he have? Just to think of him as a role-model to some ignorant individuals, it's disheartening. When Alamieyesigha of Bayelsa fame did the same thing, the clown was on TV telling the whole world that he couldn't really explain how he found himself in Nigeria. I guess he definitely knows how he found himself in a Nigerian cell now. In a civilised world, when a public office holder finds himself in an undignifying situation, to avoid embarrassment to the office he occupies, he resigns but in Nigeria he would deny it, swear by his father's name and attribute the whole thing to persecution. We, as a nation, still have a very long way to go. We have to many crooks/liars/conscienceless people/greedy & self-centered people/visionless people at the upper part of our social and polical pyramid. They are the same set of people that rally round any office holder. Where do we go? Can we restructured a house without knocking down some walls. Just look at nearby GHANA. I weep |
Hi gentle ones I love this topic. It's actually a complex problem. A lot of nigerians tend to act that way in order to match up with others in the society. The truth of the matter is that you can't give what you don't have. In the UK, the so-called tough Nigerians wee in their pants at the sight a JAMO! It's unfortunate that a lot of Nigerians are just too loud and lousy! It's gradually becoming our identity. It's a cheap way to gain recognition. To cap it up, a gangsta is a FUNKIFIED AGBERO (area boy)! Most of them are just cowards who have nothing to lose in life because they are naturally LOSERS! |
I am a Yoruba guy but I am TOTALLY against tribal marks. It's completely inhuman for anybody to do it on any child. Tell me, what purpose does it serve? It's absolutely WICKEDNESS! My mother would not try that with my kids despite the fact that I respect her so much. She knows where to draw the line. As an Ondo guy, I have four on the top-right part of my chest and I know the psycological effect it had on me while growing up. I could not take off my shirt to play football with my friends because of it. I had good football skills but each time my team had to take off it jearsey, I leave the pitch. I had this friend from Benue state who had these horrible ones on his face. You won't believe me, when he got older (16 or 18 years) he was always fighting with his dad. It's true. He hated himself each time he looked in the mirror. In your friends case, suing the in-laws won't remove the marks. All she can do is to express her sadness and keep away from them. |
Otokx, I am based in the Niger Delta and I guess you know the best sector to work in down south - the oil industry! For your info, before you start having funny ideas - I have been working for about 6 years, real HARD. I know it's pretty tough in Naija at the moment but I wish all the young jobless/job-seeking ones the best. |
God has been very good to me! I have ONLY a diploma and I have been able to train all my siblings (6) to University level after my dad passed on. Certification or not, I am reckoned with in my chosen field (web design) where I work. With a salary of between 6.5M & 7M PA, who won't be happy in Naija? |
It's a shame! A big one at that. Nigerians like anything that would put them on a status higher than others. At this age and time, should we be talking about one degree higher than the other or what the holder of the degree or diploma can perform? In the present day how many nigerians really deserve to called degree holders? How many really studied hard? It's like comparing a Nigerian Army general and an Army general from Europe or even India. Look at the written English of most graduates and you would weep. Lecturers are now contractors. Students only give contracts to lecturers to see them through. Students don't write their final year projects anymore! They only copy already existing ones! Most of our graduates are HALF-BAKED (degree and HND holders alike). We should assess ourselves. All we like in this country is BIGMANISM! What can you do as a professional - NIL. May God save us all. |
