Thank God for technology. The fact that you guys know your status, its an opportunity for you to tow the right path. Don't put yourself in such a misery. I have had neighbours that had sicklers, meeennnn, it was misery galore. I can assure you that by the time you face the misery, the little love you and you partner had/have would definitely diminish. Please make a right choice now. |
Dogs, Dogs, Dogs. I love dogs. My preference is the Rottweiler. I have one at the moment and by the time I move into my own personal house, I am gonna get 2 or 3 more. Basically, for me, they are my friends and my trusted guards. They are jealously and aggressively protective of their owners. A story for all: A friend in Port Harcourt, Nigeria who who owned a Rottweiler was alone with his 1year baby and his Rott at home one weekend. He decided to step out just to pick up an item from a kiosk (managed by an aboki) in the next compound (the house is his, just finished building it, then moved in). By the time he came back, actually less than 20mins, he met his Rott, with blood-stained mouth walking in a funny way out of the sitting room! Different thoughts raced through his mind. This dog don eat my pickin, bla bla bla. He dashed to his car, got his illegally acquired gun and shot the dog. By the time he got into his room, he met a dead python! The Rott actually fought the python to death. Till today, he still feels very sad because he shot his dog that saved his son. There's a new obsession of mine: A Presa Canario dog. Men, I love this dog! Check it out!

Most times I laugh at people when I notice some 'eye service' actions. I keep telling people that despite the fact that a man and woman are married, THERE SHOULD BE A MINIMUM LEVEL OF PRIVACY which should be observed by couples. Why should a wife pick answer her husband phone when she wasn't told to do so. Tell me, because I am married, does that give me the right to pry into my wife's suitcase? My mother-in-law sends my wife (her daughter) a letter, tell me, because she's I go ahead and open the letter in her absence. Couples should know where to draw the line. Since I got married, my wife has never answered my calls. Instead, she would bring the phone to me wherever I am in the house. I also do same for her or call her whenever her phone rings. I always like being practical and I thank God that my wife is very mature and understands a lot. I have been married for some years now and my marriage has been working out wonderfully. I don't need no eye service treatment to show my wife that I have nothing to hide. I have this colleague whose wife monitors him in all areas: checks his sms, answers his calls, checks his calls record, checks his pockets for evidence, appears unannounced in the office, etc. The guy comes to the staff club and grumbles (as if I chose his wife for him). To her, she knows all about him and she's keeping tabs. Very soon, she's going to find out that he has a child outside. I pity her. |
Hey bluenubian Please don't misinform people. I believe when we talk about any breed of dog, we refer to the pure breeds. A pure breed pitbull is a very stubborn and aggressive dog. All it wanna do is fight and bite. A friend of mine has one, 2 rottweilers and a mastiff. Out of all of them, the pitbull is the most difficult to manage. I would also advise that you go read stories on the net from different dog owners and you will get more info about pitbulls. No offence meant, did you get yours from any registered kennel? From what I can see from your dog's picture, it looks like a cross-breed to me. |
The two dogs are both dangerous but a pitbull is just too stubborn - acrazy dog I would say. I own a Rottweiler coz I am in love with the Rott and I can manage it better than a pittbull. Many factors have to be taken into consideration before getting any of these dangerous dogs. You have to try as much as possible to socialise them. I would advise any first-time owners never to pick a dangerous dog. You have to be a strong-will person to be able to manage them otherwise you would end up a casuality. One bachelor in Port Harcourt paid with his life when he had to travel out of his location on official business with the plan of coming back the following morning. He ended up staying for 3 days and none of his friends had the guts to go and feed his rottweiler. By the time he came back, the dog went for him. When the neighbours called the police, the guy was dead. They had to shoot the dog. But whose fault was it? |
I am happy that it has kicked off. I have a little problem with the profiles of some of the contestants. How come a lot of them are 21, 22 and 23 years old? With their looks? Somebody please convince me. |
The ugly and the handsome cheat! It's the degree that varies. An handsome man would obviously face advances from ladies/women but the ugly man, if he wants to cheat, must dangle something in order to catch the attention of his 'cheatee'. Or better still, he goes for the ugly ladies. A functional conscience and the fear of God should stop any man (handsome or ugly) from cheating. I always advise women to be vary of their friends (agree or not) because of what I have seen and heard. Every man has his resistance level. Any determined woman who is hell-bent on getting a guy (married or not), would ultimately achieve it. |
I am sad with the happenings in this country. Some northerners have come to assume that the southerners are fools. If a fly comes from the south and perches on the Koran, the hausas will kill any igbo in sight. For God sake, what has the ordinary Igbo man in the north, have to do with the cartoon in Denmark? I don't take this kind of attitude anymore! If your canarian kills my child, my rottweiler should kill your child also! Period! |
I would advise anyone dating anybody from a broken home to really take time out to study him/her. I married someone from a broken home, but I went ahead because I knew my partner was like a 'rebel' in her family. Someone like that would obviously not have imbibed the negative attitudes of a broken home. In most cases, if a lady is very close to her mum who is from a broken marriage, her impression of MEN would extend to the daughter and that would definitely affect her. People should know that the same rule does not apply to everybody. Study your partner very well and never allow your emotions to rule your head. What is more important is your lasting happiness. |
Showing appreciation, expressing love regularly, watching tv till late once in a while when the kids are asleep, buying gifts, preparing food once in a while, showing concern about your partner's welfare, listening, carrying your partner along, staying up in bed late into the night and just talking, etc etc BUT HOW MANY COUPLES CAN SUSTAIN MOST OF THESE WHEN CHILDREN ARRIVE THE 'SCENE' LET'S BE TRUTHFUL. LET ONLY THOSE THAT ARE NOT LESS THAN 5YRS IN MARRIAGE WITH KIDS COMMENT. NEW COUPLES SHOULD KEEP QUITE AND LEARN. IT'S GOING TO BE USEFUL. THE TRUTH IS ALWAYS BITTER. |
My friend, what kind of business is she doing abroad? How frequent is her frequent visits? I advise that you re-appraise yourself and face reality. Cheers. |
My dear friends, In my last posting on the barbaric killings in the north, I told us all that nobody and I mean NOBODY has monopoly of violence. He who kills should be killed in return. There should be any room for repentance! I told us that we should wait until the corpses of the innocent souls massacred get down to the south, then we would SEE. Nobody or group of people can hide under the guise of any religion, belief, ethnic group or creed to wreck havoc on others. That period has passed. It's now tit for tat. If you don't value the lives my people, tell me, WHY SHOULD I VALUE YOUR PEOPLES LIVES? More than 15 moslems were killed yesterday (unfortunate though) in Onitsha in a reprisal attack. MASSOB has given the northerners an ultimatum to vacate the south east. The moslems have also killed more in Bauchi state. I guess we should all wait and see where these would end. When people say our country is a failed state, SOME SAY NO. |
Did he want a virgin for wife in the first place? If yes, then why did he try to make love to her? May be the poor girl just didn't want to have pre-marital sex with her husband-to-be. She obviously must have told the guy that she was a virgin because he guy asked. To me, this shouldn't be an issue at all. Call a family meeting? To discuss what? May be he should also call a family meeting when she goes to the toilet and forget to flush, ![]() |
Kokscity and all I totally agree that Naija is a failed state BUT i derive no pleasure from this fact. Instead it pains me to my bone marrow. Atimes, I feel like weeping because I don't see no light at the end of the tunnel. Imagine, I was born into a society where things don't work and now I am working, married, brought kids into the worlds and the systems still ain't working! What do you call my generation? WASTED!!! Tell me, in how many decades from now do you think things would start functioning in their proper way? I guess if there's a genuine determination, it could be when I start walking with the aid of a stick. Electricity- EPILEPTIC/NON-EXISTENT Water - IT DEPENDS ON YOUR DEFINITION : STREAM; GUTTER, BOREHOLE, RIVER Road - IT DEPENDS ON WHERE YOU ARE Security - THIS ALSO DEPEND ON WHERE YOU LIVE: ASO ROCK Education - THIS SHOULD BE REDEFINED: IT'S PROBABLY COPY AND PASTE NOW OR PAY AND GET. Hello guys (yankee-based and all) From all your postings, I could deduce that you guys haven't been in the CORE south-south before or you don't know the politics of the zone. For your info, I am based in the heart of the south-south and i know a damn lot. What guys get from BBC, FOX NEWS, CNN etc are not the main truth. Imagine a BBC reporter based in Abuja and giving reports of what's happening in Yenegoa, Okrika, Bonny, Nembe, Brass, Tombia, Degema, etc. If the reporter is as bold as what they make us believe let him/her come down south. I don't support terrorism in any form but I challenge people to come down south and see the state of affairs and compare with other parts of the country. These people have been deprived for so long. Now they have realised that they can hold the government by its balls because of the terrain. What can the military really do? They don't know the mangrooves, creeks like these boys. Even if they decide to shell the whole place they would end up destroying all the oil facilities along. These boys move in the night and our military (naval & amphibious brigades) are not trained for this! Does the government even train them? What caused the defeat of the Americans in Vietnam - the TERRAIN! Has any of you ever flown in a chopper over the niger delta? come down here and experience it, then you would have a better understanding of what I am talking about. We learnt the government spent about a 1billion Naira as ransome to free the last hostages. With this attitude they are already encouraging other splinter groups that they could make easy money! That is not the solution. There should be a genuine repentance by the government followed by genuine/visible actions geared towards developing the place and providing the basic human needs. You think it's child's play? SHELL has already cut daily production by more than 350,000 barrels. multiply this by the cost of a barrel of crude oil ($62). If they decide to blow up more facilities the total production cut could rise to 1million. We as a nation should get our acts right and do the right thing. My brothers/sisters, the truth of the matter is that when Late Gen. Sani Abacha took jobless youths to Abuja for the 2million man march, he didn't know that he was only helping the boys with enligntenment. They could not believe their eyes when they got to Abuja! It was like paradise to them. To them, Abuja does not produce oil, so how come it's better developed than the south - no potholes, steady electricity, skyscrappers, etc. But back home where they see the gas flares 24/7, where a kid can identify a christmas tree (well head), flowstation, oil pipes, etc, they suffer soil degredation and water/air pollution, harrassment by security details of oil companies. The beautiful jeeps plying the untarred roads day-by-day. The agitation intensified. People should not stay outside the state and say things that they don't know. A stitch in time, I rest my case. |
It's a great pity. Innocent lifes wasted for nothing. People who knew nothing about the Denmark cartoon issue. People who travelled to Maiduguri to earn a livelihood. People who obviously may have not been to Denmark before. One thing some people fail to realise is that NOBODY HAS MONOPOLY OF VIOLENCE. Those who do such things in the name of God will definitely rot in the hottest chamber of hell with homosexuals as their bed mates. Lets wait until the corpses start getting down south for burial, especially the east, and it would be tit for tat. It's really crazy! ANYBODY WHO KILLS SHOULD BE KILLED! PERIOD! NO SENTIMENTS. When the hausa were slaughtered in Aba in retaliation some time back, the beastly activities initiated by the northern killers stopped! |
We should stop blaming the GSM providers! These people are business men and are out to make profit at whatever cost. If it's possible, they would also evade taxes and do other worse/criminal things. They know we don't have a people-oriented government. All we can do is grumble and as the military people say: GRUMBLING IS ALLOWED! How else do we expect them to perform when the guys that are supposed to be regulating their activities have all compromised - seeking favours, being shareholders of the companies, collecting gratification at our detriment, etc. What do we expect, when they electricity supply is epileptic or non-existent. As a result they run their basestations most times on generators. If only we solve our major problem in this country IT WOULD DEFINITELY CASCADE INTO OTHER POSITIVE DEVELOPMENTS. I have spoken. |
He truly loves her but she loves the one that keeps her as a BACKUP! Ain't it funny? Things like this happen because people allow their feelings to rule their heads and in the process become UNREALISTIC. If this guy truly loves her, he wouldn't have her as a second choice. If she decides to go ahead, she's gonna have herself ONLY to blame. IT's always very good to look and see before leaping, otherwise. A word is , |
OK lioness. It's a small world you know ![]() Cheers. |
Lioness, Thanks. That's soothing ![]() In one of your postings you said you met one Guy from Elf. I seem to know some guys in Elf Port Harcourt. Would I be too inquisitive asking what the guy's first name is (that only). May be someone I know. ![]() |
Timmy, You got to slow down here! I respect your feelings, but the people involved here are your parents. At times, youths tend to feel that their parents are overbearing in their duties as parents. One thing in life is that WHAT GOES ROUND COMES AROUND. They are old now and you are young but definitely, until scientist discover an anti-aging drug, you are going to get old with your own kids. Whatever happens between you and your parents, please please and please never go to the extreme. In the course of growing up, I had lots of problems with my dad, I tended to hate him. But things changed as I grew older. the total independence that I craved for, I got gradually. At the end of the day, we became best of pals. Even while on his sick bed before he gave up the ghost, it was prayers galore for me. Some times, I weep whenever think of him because he ain't around to enjoy the fruits of his labour. He brought me up to this level and I appreciate. Please consider whatever you dad is doing as being for your own good (as long as it's something negative - sexual abuse, etc). May God help you in this regard. |
Lioness I ain't a wife-beater and I detest any man that does that. I was only painting what the society tend to favour this days. I have been married for some years with kids.My wife and I met when I was virtually nobody. We grew together so therefore, for everything I have achieved, she has a hand in it and I value her tremendously. And for starters, I work in one of the best oil & gas companies in the world. These days, a lot of girls in Nigeria are not patient. They want a readymade man and in most cases, these readymade men find it difficult to differentiate between true love and love for comfort. I have colleagues that are not married and some of them confess that its really difficult sustaining a relationship. Whenever they start one and the girl gets to know that the guy works in the oil sector, she tends to start acting LOVE. Any sane man can read in between the lines. I had this friend who was working in one of the oil servicing companies in Port Harcourt whose wife left him after he was retrenched. She just couldn't imagine herself in the new situation. A little quarrel and she left after the guy could not secure another job for about 2 years. He was virtually a wretch, living on handouts until a miracle came. One of the oil companies he applied to for a job called him for an interview, etc and he got the job. The chap is in Houston now on cross-posting and the deserter-wife has been sending emissaries. SHE NOW WANTS TO COME BACK BECAUSE IT'S CONDUCIVE. TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT, ANY RELATIONSHIP BUILT ON A FAKE FOUNDATION WILL NOT STAND WHENEVER 'MARITAL TURBULENCE' COMES. |
