I keep telling those that care to listen that we are threading the path terrorism in Iraq and Basque region in Europe. Whenever there isn't a genuine attempt to solve the grievances of a people, they resort to open or clandestine attack on the perceived enemy/enemies. Even if they are not in a position to defeat the other force, they would cause fear and panic amongst the populace. And nobody likes to live in fear. The militants know that they hold the Federal Government by the balls. Imagine the millions of dollars the nation is losing per day as a result of the stoppage of crude oil production at certain locations. Look at what happened in Port Harcourt 2 nights ago. A bomb was remotely detonated in the largest army formation in the state, killing 3 people. With this kind of sophistication, NOBODY, NO OIL COMPANY IS SAFE!!!!! Imagine planting a bomb in the car of an innocent Shell, AGIP or Elf worker and the guy drives it to the office unaware of the dangerous parcel therein. I am already scared. The whole thing looks like child's play. But it's catastrophe waiting to happen. The President did not even help matters with the developmental programmes he announced. What happened to recommendations made in the past? He promised to employ thousands of Niger deltans into the Army, Police, Airforce, the Navy and NNPC. Aside the NNPC, are these jobs to be proud of in Nigeria? Go the Bonny Island and see what LNG is doing there. IT is a well known fact that if there's a major accident at the Liquified Natural Gas Plants there, the whole Bonny Island, which is not linked by road would be destroyed. WHERE ARE WE HEADING IN THIS COUNTRY? |
Hi guys, don't be deceive about any INSIDER INFORMATION as claimed by Simone. Elf advertises all its job vacancies on its website even before they go to the dailies. Sometimes, the advert in the dailies is only an instruction for people to visit its website. So visit the website regularly. |
Babymine, If you really want to be born again and you truly desire to be close to God, I would advise that you keep away from alcohol. Of what use really is it? Don't listen to what the "bible quoters" say. People always quote the bible out of context in order to suit their purpose. I believe all religions are against alcohol because it impedes spiritual purity. |
Hotstepper, I agree with you to an extent. It's because the basics in life are not available that's why all sorts of people hide under the canopy of the present situation to do all sorts. I know some ladies do it because they want to live big and some partake in it due to desperation to acquire education despite their poor backgrounds. I know how it feels. I am the first child in a family of 7 children and my parents were very poor. I managed through all odds to go to school and I have been helping my siblings ever since. 4 of them are already graduates while the last is about entering the university. Taking my situation into consideration, I wonder what the thousands out there in similar/worse situation have to do to survive. It crazy! The basics are just not available. Imagine a man that earns N15000 and has 6 children. Just tell me: HOW CAN HE SUPPORT HIS CHILDREN IN THE UNIVERSITY? |
Where does moral decadence come in when thousands of people are hungry and desperate to be educated! In as much as I don't support immorality, we should not forget that most students are from very poor homes. How much do their parents earn? Can it confortably take care of the tuitution fees of a primary school student? Some are even there on their own without support from parents except these Aristos. It's like the case of a poor man who can not afford good medical services. What does he do? He looks up to the quack pharmacist on his street for medical intervention! Poverty can cause a lot. I pray there's a radical intervention in our nation. We should criticise and critically examine issues. |
The Niger Delta issue is one that a lot of you know nothing about, especially those based outside the region. I am a Yoruba man working with one of the oil & gas multinationals in the south-south and I feel for the people of Delta, Ondo, Bayelsa, Rivers and Akwa Ibom. I know the politics which the oil companies exhibit when dealing with the communities. They release/discharge all sorts into the environment because they know that the government agencies involved in monitoring their activities are their partners-in-crime. They cause confusion in the south south in order to perpetrate their illegalities. We should ask ourselves what happened in Ogoni land some years back that eventually led to the hanging of late Ken Saro Wiwa? Bayelsa state is the only state in the country that is not connected to NEPA's national grid. The only road that links the south south with other parts of the country is in a terrible shape. A larger percentage of the people leave in the shanties, like the ghettos in south africa. |

Rivers State University of Science & Technology kooooo RSUST niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii UST as it's popularly known is nothing more than a secondary school ! I have been there, I have friend there, I used to have a girlfriend there when I was still a bachelor and I did a part time programme there. It's nothing more than the haven for cultists! If a lecturer sneezes, we contribute money; If a lecturer has problems with his car, we contribute money; If his mother dies, we contribute money. Please don't mention the name of any school. |
I am sometimes dissappointed at the replies of certain people on this forum. Do we need to have road blocks for the police to perform? CAPITAL NO!!!! I have travelled by road from the south-west to the south-south. I do this a lot when I am on vacation because I love it. If you guys know what road users go through from Lagos to Ore down to Benin, Warri, Patani, Aba to Calabar, you would retract most of your comments. A police on the highway knows you are at his mercies, because who would you cry to in the middle of nowhere? They stop you and ask for all sorts of non-existent documents. On one occasion, I was kept for almost 45mins just before Benin because I didn't have what the police officer called transfer of ownership certificate. The clown actually saw my CHANGE OF OWNERSHIP CERTIFICATE! My wife and 2 kids were in the car sweating and crying. He only let us go when the sky turned dark and rain fell. I cursed him from deep down. Most of them are armed robbers in uniforms. |
She told me she has been going out with this cool investment banker for 7months now and she is quite "fancies the pants off him". on the down side, she said he always leaves her large amount of money(I'm talking large!!!) in hidden places in her apartment after. She feels really embarrassed about this and told him to stop since she is financially independent herself.------------------------------------------- My views: You didn't tell us if your friend's cool investment banker is married or not. But from your post, I suspect that he is. I assume that's why they only do it in her apartment and on his way out he drops something for the service rendered. Obviously he must have enjoyed each session. Abi? Na who go pay for wetin no sweet ![]() Token of love? This depends on what the definition of LOVE is in the guy's dictionary. She feels really embarrassed: If she truly is, what did she do to the ones he's been dropping? The guy is just a smart ass adulterer. He must have computed the cost of a good hotel room, the cost of drinks and food to be consumed and the THANK YOU FEE. Since they do it in her house, why not give her the total sum he would have spent doing it in a hotel. After that, he drives home to the comfort of his wife and attribute his lateness to traffic or whatever. ![]() |
I love me job with a passion. One reason is because it is a multi-national where there are procedures for everything. I get all is due me and even some that I don't expect. we have a very vibrant UNION that have made our management reverse one or two anti-people decisions in the past. Our standard here is comparable to any of our branches in any part of the world. I guess I am opportuned! All said and done, I still feel bad because of the society in which I have found myself. I can't run my generator the way I want because I know I would be exposing my status. Can't buy the kind car I desire because I would need an armed mobile policeman for security. When you feel fulfilled in the midst of the hungry, JUST KNOW THAT YOUR EXISTENCE IS THREATENED. I pray that God will give us a leader/leadership that would be able to transform Nigeria so that the average man on the street can have a good source of income, shelter, food, clean water, electricity, security, etc, |
I pray that God almighty saves us from the false prophets. There are all sorts of churches these days. I was informed a few weeks back that even lesbians have their own church somewhere in down south. Unbelievable? I think the major reasons why a lot of people are tempted by these false prophets is : POVERTY and IGNORANCE! It's not only CCC, there are issues with other churches and men/women of God (god?). Zoe Ministries, Synagogue, Olumba Olumba, Mountain of Fire, , Aladura, etc To be on the secure side, we should read our bibles and follow the messages therein as directed by the Lord. |
I know who the next military head of state will be. Ain't telling no one! Hit me back please. ![]() |
Best university in Nigeria? In terms of what? Land mass? Structures? Sexy girls? Cultists? disjointed academic calendar? Printing of handouts? All the Universities are living in past glories. The best university in nigeria is in GHANA That's where the big men send their children! |
We can laugh over this happenings but for those that have discerning minds, things like this (desperation to hang on to power and desperation to become president) could lead to crisis that can engulf a nation. The problems that eventually led to the civil war in Nigeria began in the southwest (Awo vs Akintola) before the military seized power. That opened the way for counter coups, We should pray for our nation. What else can ordinary citizens do? |
We always tend to go sentimental when issues like this one are brought up. For a marriage to succeed, married couples have to face reality and brace up. Marital life is like human beings, exposed to bacterias everyday but still look healthy because of the level of individual immunity. The day the immunity level drops, an opportunistics infection comes in, BANG, then sickness. Same with marriage, men and women are exposed to temptations everyday. temptations could be from: Colleagues at work Neigbours (same building, same street, same estate, etc) Family members Unknown individuals Boss at work Church member Doctor/nurse at the local hospital Taxi driver, etc Most times, we are able to fight these temptations but atimes, temptation could come at the lowest ebb of one's marriage. This could be when there are emotional issues which have been left to linger. It could be when one has been starved of sex. It is very easy for most people to succumb when they are at this period. TAKE THIS OR LEAVE IT. For most marriages, sexual activities drop after the woman has put to birth! Due to many physical/psycological/emotional stress as a result of the new entrant (baby), the woman tends to 'deprive' the man of attention. THIS IS UNDERSTANDABLE FOR THOSE WHO KNEW BEFORE HAND! For some, they take it wrongly. The first 3 or 4 months after child birth is always the lowest ebb for men. If during this period, a man comes across temptation, he might decide to have a fling. IF he does, in most cases, he takes it as a substitute to his wife. There lies the danger! During this period (before he's tempted) couples are advised to go for/get counselling. We should also pray that we don't come across some demonic people. Some people sit down and set targets for themselves. I know a few people (male & female) who target a particular member of the opposite sex to go to bed with them. They would not stop until they achieve their aim. This is no fantasy. I have a colleague who works offshore (on rotation: 4wks on 4wks off). Due to his long absence every 2months, his wife, a mother of 2, goes for flings around. It has gotten to a stage where everyone knows except the husband. |
The whole thing is funny. I guess this guy must be a comedian. What type of encouragement those he need from this forum? Beg his HOD for him? The poor guy has written his best (but thank God for typo, blame it the same way we blame the devil for our actions). This only shows us the status of our higher institutions. Just read the application letters of some job seekers and you would marvel ![]() Students don't study no more! who would when others are paying lecturers in order to earn the needed marks. The ones that read are those from poor homes and are exceptionally brilliant. Even the secondary schools are in terrible shapes. |
Chochori, Please as you go about getting information on how/where to purchase a power bike in Nigeria, I pray that God almighty protects you from sudden death. A friend of mine was buried yesterday in Aladja, Delta state. He bought a power bike (worth about N1.5 million) and had an accident in Lagos. He's was cut short in his prime because he rammed into somthing on the road that shouldn't have been there. He's not the only victim. There are numerous cases. I know one that rode into a pot hole, fell off and was crushed by an oncoming car. Appraise your life and the road conditions before you venture into this. Good luck. |
Personally, I have reached a stage in life where I don't vouch for anybody when it comes to male & female issues. There is a whole lot of secrecy involved in this matter. We only get to know certain things when the secrecy burst, like: 1. the holier-than-thou colleague who went to a hotel for a quickie with somebody else's wife but armed robbers came calling and he was killed right there in the hotel room 2. the madam that was caught having a romp with her hausa securityman (maiguard) 3. the dedicated and responsible husband/father that only do his thing at lunch time (he goes home immediately after work and stays there; he wife is happy. 4. the one who does it only when he is on official trips etc etc etc. |
We feel great when we compare ourselves with countries like Gabon, Benin, Sudan. Ain't it funny? Why not Ghana just next door. Our country is like a rudderless ship on the high sea. Our leaders are visionless. In the next 10years, we don't even know what the state of NEPA (now PHCN). We like to deceive ourselves by saying we are developing. We are not! If someone out there has a contrary opinion please enlighten me. The police is god the local government thugs are lords traffic warden is a terrorist lecturers in schools are capones our roads (apart from the ones that lead to Aso rock and other government houses) are death traps in some primary schools, students still seat on block. some come with the chairs and tables everyday (some of you won't believe) we beg to get kerosene from the petrol stations (even with our money) Petrol is for the big men Diesel, emmmm only for the big companies to run their generators we beg the NEPA men anytime we have problems with our light. At times we don't have lights for months because the transformer is bad but we still get our bills for electricity not consumed I can go on and on. Billions have been pumped into NEPA and there's nothing to show for it Same for the railway My people, i dey cry for our nation. We should be classified as UNDER-DEVELOPED NATION. period. |
If you attach any value to your life you would go visit a doctor right away! Good luck and get well soon. |

THERE'S NO FREE LUNCH IN FREETOWN! That's what I tell people. Once you are willing to ask for and receive assistance from a third party you should magnanimous enough to live with the conditions otherwise, you turn it down. Even blessings from God come with conditions! You must keep the 10 commandments. In every society or association, there's always an appointed or self appointed leader. In the present world there are power blocs. This is not unusual. To be reckoned with, you must earn it, you can't beg for it and no one would dumpt it at your feet. We should put our house in order one way or the other. There's politics everywhere, even in our homes. We should stop grumbling, instead ensure that our leaders transform this country so that we can be reckoned with. On the Mugabe issue: When he was fighting against apatheid, we considered him a hero. But now there's no apatheid to fight, so he has turned on his people. And that's the truth. Did the western world make him do that? I was in South Africa a while ago when I read about his retirement mansion. Gawd!!! I puked. This mansion, is worth more than the present presidential palace (~£3.75million). On record he has officially earned less than £630,000 since coming to power about 23years ago. In a land that has been ravished by famine. And we blame the west for picking on him. |
Whether the quality of their publications is low or not is not the issue. The fact is that the directionless governmenance we have been getting in this country for several decades now is the cause of information dissemination outfits like this existing. When the fight was on to stop Babangida and Abacha from achieving their selfish and destructive ambitions, all sorts of print and electronic media were patronised by news-hungry Nigerians because they were considered the only ones that would give "objective reporting" different from what state and pro-government media would give. So people turned to Kudirat Radio, AM News, Biafra News, etc. Now, in 2006, we are almost like in the same situation again - THIRD TERM, OBASANJO MUST STAY, NO OBJ NIGERIA COLLAPSES, CONTINUITY. NTA has not changed, Fani Kayode is ready to take on anybody. So therefore, people are ready to encourage anybody that can publish any news that is near the truth or confrontational, whether sensational or not. We should not castigate them at all. What we should realise is that a people/nation/society gets what it deserves! Come to the southern part of Nigeria and you would be surprised at the number of local newspapers with sensational headlines, some without offices, but you see people gathering around the newspaper vendors to read them. An average human being craves for news and if you are disgruntled as a result of perceived injustice, then you accept news from any source. I read some of their reports, and score them below 50% but for some I give them credit. I am a bit surprised that Seun would tag their reports IMAGINATIVE. How different are theirs from what we get from TELL, NEWS, NEWSWATCH, THE SOURCE, ETC? |
We continue to make a mockery of ourselves in the international community. We went into Liberia in the first place because our Military ruler then (IBB) had vested interest in there, not because our nation had any interest. We keep claiming that we stopped the war in Liberia! Tell me, how did we stop the war? When our soldiers were busy looting the country. I was in the barracks then when the war was on and I was ashamed of our military when soldiers who went on mission started coming back with Refridgerators, TVs, Typewriters, Electric cookers, etc. The Air Force and the Naval officers were the major culprits because they had the means of transporting their loots back home (using the C-130 and the naval ships). I actually had some neighbours who were court-marshalled because they were siphoning petrol from vehicles and selling to the rebels for diamonds. YAK!! We didn't stop the war. The war extinguished itself. It was a good means of our leaders then to rob our treasury under the guise of funding the ECOMOG mission. It was even the assistance of foreign powers (the US, UK, etc) that put a check on the senseless war. We sent boys that were not motivate to fight. I think we should actually ask the military to account for the number of innocent soldiers we lost. At a point, when it became embarrassing, and the press was becoming inquisitive, the bodies of our dead soldiers were being brought it at night and dumped at the mortuary at Air Force Base Ikeja. When other nations were busy evacuating their nationals from Liberia, we ignored our and most Nigerians were butchered, amputated and dehumanised. IBB sent our boys there because he wanted to protect Samuel Doe but unfortunately we couldn't and we got trapped in the war. And we lost so man gallant and fine officers. May the soul of my late friend Lt. Jibo who was ADC to Major Gen. Victor Malu rest in perfect peace. Nigeria is a big theatre, a comical one. The biggest in the black world. I weep. |
I have been married for more than 5 years with kids and I repeat once more: I DO CHEAT ON HER. Though I have never been caught before. |
Chinani, I do cheat. |
There are different styles of cheating. Some men are born-cheaters Some cheat only on special occasions Some cheat when they are drunk Some cheat by having a steady girlfriend Some cheat once in a while Some cheat with street prostitutes Some cheat with househelps Some cheat by being gay without their wives knowledge Some cheat by masturbation (its cheating, you derive sexual pleasure without your wife, don't say its NOT) Some cheat only when they have picked a quarrel Some cheat only when they embark on trips without their wives etc etc etc Most people just would own up UNTIL THEIR WIVES CATCH THEM. Then they attribute it to the devil |
