As regards building credit score. I read online that paying utility bills don’t help but when you own or default it can affect it. Correct?

It depends on the company you use. I changed to E.on last year and received an an alert from my credit report that my points had gone down just because they put themselves on my credit report. Not all utility companies do this.

Guys that are planning on buying new build houses on new developments, something to be wary about.

Ps: where have all the gurus gone?

Many thanks for this. I'm in the same predicament I bought freehold newbuilt but have to pay a small maintenance fee. In all fairness to the management company the place is well maintained. I rather pay a small fee than them transfer it over to the council.

See advices throwing up and down undecided

So marriage is now a do or die affair

Marriage is not a do or die affair, but when you have lived in Nigeria which is a male dominated country and now relocate to somewhere like the UK . Tt is difficult and you have got to work at it, as long as there is no kind of violence, abuse or infidelity going on.

At least when you finally give it up you will know that you gave it your best shot.

Please an important question.

Who deep clean a place when the tenant leaves? Is the tenant or the landlord?
Please I need to know.

The tenant has to bear the cost in an ideal world.

Travel / Re: British Airways Urges Travellers To Drop Their Luggage A Day Before Travel by Rubyventures: 9:50am On Jul 15, 2021

If a Nigerian airline asks its passengers to do this they’ll attack the airline and destroy their image both online and offline. Same Nigerians will go to U.K. and not complain. Colonialism really messed up a lot of us. There’s this belief that the Nigerian man / brand is substandard in anyway while that of the European/American is superior/perfect

What are you talking about? BA have always allowed passengers to drop off their luggage a day before travel its just that most passengers dont take it up. You cant compare a British Airline to a Nigerian Airline. Let us be honest everything about Nigeria is chaotic, they lack customer service and care. They treat you as if you are begging them to take their airline , They also lack maintenance culture. When they delay or cancel their flight they treat you with disregard.

There is nothing about colonialism here. This will only be the case if they offer the same type of service. How can you compare a crap service to a good service?
I love to patronise Nigerian Airlines but i always end up regreting it.

Quite a few are rentals. The one we've organised for next summer to Bristol is a rental ie they're swapping their rented house in Bristol with us - they've taken contents cover insurance and informed the agents that they're away for 2 months but will have friends staying s o the house is not empty. We're not exchanging money so it doesn't breach the tenancy agreement.

We're not swapping cars as we have access to cars in the UK (will just borrow my SIL's car) and they really don't need a car here in Wellington. And once you start swapping within western Europe, the Middle East and parts of Asia (SE), I find they're mainly rentals as well.

This is okay when when everything goes okay which is the case most of the time, but when problem comes this will be classed as misinformation and any kind of insurance will be void. Even your agent will wash their hands off you. Thats why its alway safer to place all your cards on the table and tell the true position of things.

@Ticha

Just learnt new thing from you. Must the swapping be among home owners? What of those that are renting?

Asking on behalf of others living in UK but not house owners.

As long as you are not in breach of your tenancy agreement, which i think you will be.
