It's wrong to make January 15th the armed forces remembrance day. This was obviously done to keep hate alive as the country attempts to milk as much evil as she can from the events of that day in 1966, in this perennial fight against a segment of the country. The officers who rearranged the dates to make this day the army day of celeberation are the same officers who have spent their lifetime trying to make it look like the coup on that day was an ethnic coup. These same officers were later involved in several coups while projecting themselves as patriots! During the Ihejirika regime as the CoAS under Jonathan, one Theophilus danjuma was invited to address the troops at Kaduna during this sort of celebrations. The corrupt one spent the whole time explaining to officers why they should not forget how some people killed their leaders on this day for nothing. This was a man who has been a former army Chief and a former defence minister! It all shows that the main reason behind this ritual is to perpetually incubate hate and keep the faulty narrative that the the events behind the date were tribally motivated.

This comparisons between the prize money for BBN and rewards for academic excellence is not really necessary. We can talk about the need to improve rewards for academic excellence without trying to demonize entertainment with the arguments. Entertainment and sports bring in good money! That's the fact! Another fact you may not like is that nudity sells! I mean worldwide. So many times I see folks complaining bitterly about some entertainment topics on the front page. What they seldom notice is the huge amount of readers on those pages. Flesh sells. Folks instinctively want to see. It's the natural instinct that drives a warped humanity and bloggers and advertisers know.

There is a reason why the best footballer or boxer from Nigeria earns more than the most erudite professor from Nigeria! Even though they don't even reside in Nigeria! Entertainment generates money because people like to be entertained! So people go to places they will be entertained and pay heavily to be entertained. People responsible for unleashing maximum entertainment deserve serious pay the same way productive academics deserve decent pay. You can tax the television companies or the actors/actresses/sports men to raise more fund to incentify more academic pursuit, BUT YOU SHOULDN'T demonize the entertainment industry in the process because apart from the huge money it makes for the economy, it also provides a lot of people with lucrative livelihood.

Very funny to see all the tough talking senators and House members run away from fellow Americans! They used to act as if they are the toughest bunch in town! Lol! It was very funny to see the video of some of these men that authorised the bombing and destructions of other countries cower in fear! One female member nearly had a heart attack as she lay shaking like a leaf! I bet some of them pissed in their pants. These were the same people who laughed as Gaddafi was killled in a war they sanctioned, the same tough guys that ruined Iraq and Afghanistan. When it comes to raining bombs on others, they become bold and daring, but when you bring mayhem to their doorsteps, they start to fidget.. Obviously it's always convenient to act tough when your young boys in the army are the ones doing the fighting! As strong Patriots, I expected them to sit in their chairs and dare the protesters! But they ran... Cowards!

You want to compare Orlu with Awka and Abakiliki? Orlu na my area oo, but the truth has to be ssid... Orlu has no city plan! No integrated water projects and no economic master plan! I don't know what my people get hyping our struggling town. Our predicament started with Dee Mbakwe. A very visionary leader who as was typical of the time, had a serious grouse with Orlu because the then opposition leader was from Orlu zone. In fact NPN had it's opposition base at Orlu, so Mbakwe and his NPP focused more on Owerri, Aba and umuuahia. Thosexareas were pro NPP..

The military didn't help. Since 1999, Orlu has been producing most of the governors; Udenwa, Rochas and Uzodinmma the incumbent. Yet, these guys seem to be more interested in enjoying the enchanting life of Owerri. None of them has been able to provide a solid master plan to modernise the city. Rochas tried but he lacked tact. Orlu is just like Nnewi, just that Nnewi has got more serious commercial activities going on..

Never lived in Kaduna but was there during my cousin POP from the NDA so can say much about the city. However, Google pictures, I will say KD city is a historical city that is still fledgling.El Rufai have revolutionized it some more.

The fact though is that the whole north can boast of quality roads, comparatively good hospitals, reasonably working amenities like water supply and power. Infact, the village I stayed still had good working post offices and all that. The one in my village in the east stopped working almost 30 years ago.. They have a 'crude' but wealthy middle class.., by that I mean these guys that send all these food stuffs down south. Dont let their placid appearances fool you, they make a kill feeding everybody else..

Kwankwaso was good at Urban renewal though. That tribal Lord! He was the first governor in that dispensation that was adding paved pedestrian walkways to urban roads as at that time. I mean 1999 to 2003. When Southerners mock the south sometimes, I think lots of people involved don't know the north well. Apart from the stoopid almajiri system and the extremely low interest for formal education, the North is doing well. Lack of mega mansions in the northern interior is mainly a product of warped religious ideology and not necessarily as a result of poverty. . These guys distribute local government allocations mainly amongst themselves so in so many ways, they're "doing well,"..

Very good pictures. Lived in Kano for some years. It's easy to see that the North has done some solid works with the thrillions they have stolen from the national coffers through sundry means.... BTW, why is the sophisticated ones always struggling to produce solid pictures of Oshogbo and Ado ekiti and ijebu ode them? Oh, I forget, everything begins and ends with "our Lagos"?

What can Nyesomghosa Wikevie teach any sane person? To build flyovers to nowhere or to declare curfews like Abacha? Delta State predicament is easy to locate, if the people are ready to confront their opressors.. Iboris gang of evil friends has held Delta State down for more than 2 decades.. If Delta people don't find ways to retire the "ibori group", that state won't move forward an inch. The former governor, Uduaghan is Iboris uncle from his itsekiri maternal side. The current governor worked under Ibori during his first term and has consistently and openly pledged his unalloyed commitment to the socalled "Ibori group"! They simply share the states allocations at Asaba while the state looks like a bombed out Fallujah. Even when Ibori was in prison, they all managed to hold it together for him till he came back to 'possess his possession". The problem of Delta State is this very group just as the problem of bayelsa is the wayward militants that quickly transmuted into "elder statesmen and leaders" post 'clemency'.
