When the shelling started on the oil field it was obvious that the attackers had heavy weaponry, it was a routine for the u.s forces to call and identify the attackers which the Russians denied. But It was infact the russia Wagner group/Syrian forces staging the attack with Russian tanks and artillery...And they had it tuff tuff from the u.s air forces and ground forces, hit from ac130 gunship alone finish work. The Russian air force was even on a standby to support the attack but they stayed on ground.

A Russian commander had to called in for a cease fire. And about three months later a Wagner/syria forces stationed at a nearby town close to the oilfield and that same call was made again to the Russian army headquarters at Euphrates river border, Asap the Syrian/Wagner group had to withdraw.

At the battle of kasham the u.s forces were jamming everything, the Wagner/Syria forces couldn't call for any support, they couldn't coordinate beyond shouting range. They couldn't reach headquarters to get them to call the Americans off. The u.s wasn't just sending a message about their superior firepower and training but about their superior battle management "Cross the line and you will die".
