Lagos in recent times has become safer than it was some years ago when violent robberies, car jacking and mugging are carried out even in broad day light. However, in spite of the improved security, some areas are still considered as dangerous. As a resident or visitor, you do not want to find yourself in these bus stations at night or early in the morning. 1. Estate Bus stop at Ketu-Alapere: Attacks are carried-out both day and night. 2. Berger bus stop (along OPIC–Ibadan Expressway): Criminals attack victims with guns on the long bridge and in traffic jams. 3. First Gate junction – Agidingbi: Robbery point. 4. Boundary Bus stop in Ajegunle: Popularly referred to as the ‘one million boys’ gang territory where criminals attack passengers in vehicles. 5. Ijora Bus stop: Notorious spot for gang-r*pe; abduction in buses (popularly known as ‘one chance’. 6. Mile 2 Oke: Hammers, knives, guns are used to rob motorists in traffic jam 7. Church bus stop– Agboju Mile 2 (Badagry expressway): Haven for street urchins 8. Agric Bus stop – Mile 2: Notorious area for buried arms that are used for robbery operations in the area. 9. Abule-osun Bus Stop along Mile 2 – Badagry Expressway: Drivers conspire with thugs to attack victims 10. Apongbon Bus stop: Hotbed of ‘one-chance’ bus attacks. 11. School Bus stop, along Mba – Mile 2 road in Ajegunle: Use of jack-knives and other weapons on victims 12. Bamboo area along Oworonsoki – Ibadan Expressway: a dangerous spot about 100 meters from Alapere Housing Estate Bus stop. 13: Oshodi Oke Bridge: Oshodi Oke ‘boys’ are notorious for bag snatching, pickpocketing and mugging during rush hours. 14 Bolade Bus stop Oshodi: Bolade bus stop, once noted for chaos has improved since the facelift by Lagos State. But during rush hours and late nights, mugging is common. 15. Abule Egba Traffic Light: This bus stop is noted for violent mugging and dangerous street urchin who can forcefully take your belongings and even harm you. 16. Agboju Bus stop along Badagry Expressway: Notorious for car-jacking and robbery on the go. 17 Ajah Bus stop: Sporadic clashes often breaks among rival street urchins loyal to a ‘certain chief’ and over collection of toll from commercial bus drivers. Women are alleged to have been defiled at night during such clashes. 18. Costain under Bridge: Costain under bridge is dangerous at night. Mugging is common in the area. 19. Okokomaiko: The two bus stops are noted for car jacking, mugging and disappearances. 20. Iyana Iba Bus stop: For years, Iyana Iba has been noted for violent mugging, robbery and car jacking. |

every police area command should have a well equiped anti robbery respond squad, alwys on alert. |
Ignorance of who Mr. Solomon Arase (Inspector General of Police) is gave out a 33-year-old man arrested for impersonating a Police Constable. He told operatives of Lagos State Police Command X-Squad that his action was inspired by love for the profession. The suspect, Godwin Akhenamen, who claimed to have been parading as a policeman for 12 years, was sighted in Ikeja, Monday, fully kitted in a SPY police uniform. But the service number on the uniform reportedly gave him away, owing to its irregularity. When accosted by men of the X-Squad, he reportedly insisted he was a policeman. He was reportedly asked if he knew the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Solomon Arase. But he claimed not to have any relative or friend who bore that name. At that point, he was arrested and revealed during interrogation that he was not a policeman. ‘I love this job’ Akhenamen told Vanguard how he had on several occasions made attempts to join the Nigeria Police without luck. According to him: “I love the Police profession and have always wanted to be a policeman. But several attempts made to join failed. The reason was based on the ground that I did not finish my primary school education. “In 2003, I decided to join the SPY police training, but by the time I got to Ikeja, I was told that registration had closed. I went back to my private security job only to be sacked two weeks later. “Living became difficult and I could not go out to look for job because I had no money to transport myself. “So, I borrowed money to get black material with which I made this uniform; to enjoy free transportation to any destination of my choice. “People also accorded me due respect because they thought I am a policeman. I swear I do not steal with it. Things were moving smoothly for me for 12 years until X-Squad men accosted me and asked if I knew Arase. “I thought the person reported me to them and I asked them what offence the person levelled against me, not knowing he is the IG.” Lagos State Command spokesman, DSP Kenneth Nwosu, confirmed the incident and said that the suspect would soon be charged to court. |

There are just two issues we have with the Aston Martin Rapide, one of which is more serious than the other. The first is its price, which looks worryingly high beside that of the Porsche Panamera. The second is the relative lack of space provided by its rear seats and to a lesser extent its boot. Although those rear quarters are sumptuously trimmed, spacious they are not – especially if anyone approaching six foot tall is attempting to sit behind someone of similar build. At least Aston offers a range of child seats for the Rapide, which is more in keeping with the passenger space in the back. In the end, the space issue is something that will either put people off simply because they are too tall to fit into the car, or it won’t bother them one iota because they do fit the car.
Aston Martin has been canny with the way it has designed the Rapide’s suspension system to seemingly be all things to all men, depending on what sort of mood you’re in or what sort of journey you’re on. For on the one hand the Rapide plays the role of supremely refined, smooth-riding luxury car as well as anything in the class if left in its standard set-up. Press the Sport button, however, alongside another button that stiffens the suspension dramatically, and the Rapide suddenly becomes a quite different kind of car – one that feels very close to a full-blown sporting GT.
Although outright performance is far from the Aston Martin Rapide’s raison d’etre, it’s still an extremely quick car. Not as bombastic or obviously fast as a Porsche Panamera Turbo, perhaps, but still rapid enough to silence anyone lucky enough to climb aboard and experience its performance first hand. Any car that can reach 60mph from rest in less than five seconds and 100mph in just 11.2sec is always going to feel impressive in a straight line, especially when enjoyed from one of the rear seats.
While other four-doors are sober and serene, the sexy Rapide S is flat-out berserk. Shaped like a fighter-jet canopy, built from aluminum panels so pretty they shouldn’t be painted, and powered by a thumping 5.9-liter V-12 that sends 550 hp to a six-speed automatic, this stunner will tear to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds. It’s big, but the low roof limits headroom in back. Let’s cut to the chase and talk about the Aston Martin Rapide’s single biggest bone of contention: the relatively tight proportions of the rear seats. The fact is that if you are over six feet tall and the person driving is of a similar height, you will struggle to get comfortable in the back of the Rapide – despite the seats themselves being beautifully sculpted and trimmed in ultra-high-quality leather. Not even the ability to individually control the air conditioning system from side to side will make up for the lack of knee room if you are over six feet tall – and that could well be a defining issue for some owners. So it’s not a limousine—take something else to the Oscars. It doesn't matter; every trip in the Rapide is a red-carpet event.
