Strange

Why leave a ministerial position to be a senator?
Tinubu gave him a difficult job. The labour minister and federal government has been serially deceiving NLC, Johesu and labour unions by signing and reneging on agreements. Simon saw that this will give him a bad name in the long run and decided to flee than to be used as a pawn by tinubu to frustrate NLC and other unions which later will destroy his own political career when workers see him as the problem

Sorry I now understand it better. You have done OSCE at your own expense.
The job advert didn't include a relocation allowance
What about accomodation? Will they provide a temporal one?
This is serious. Dont miss the offer. Try to look at your present saving, family too. No body for family get land? You definitely will be able to pay back. Then colleagues at work that have good relationship with you, then your church leaders. The wicked ones will try to be discouraging you or negative and discouraging but ignore them focus on the bright side.
I have seen nurses who cried to their bosses, their friends and family and the support came. A closed mouth is a closed destiny.
Things have really changed in UK now that Nigerians, Chinese, India, Pakistan have filled the place. Nigerians pay N8million to get certificate of Sponsorship now which was formally free. Third world citizens there have corrupted and rubbished the system

Cuteandkind:
Greetings My Good People of Nairaland.

Please I need suggestions on an offer I have.

I am a Registered Nurse, hoping to relocate to UK. I have passed through all the steps and currently preparing to write my OSCE in the UK. I had to sponsor myself to UK for my OSCE exams.

So recently I got job offers from 2 NHS Trusts in UK after passing their job interviews. They are willing to give me COS for my Skilled Worker Visa Processing, but none is willing to make any financial commitment for my relocation.

THEY MADE IT CLEAR THEY DO NOT OFFER ANY RELOCATION PACKAGE.

This means I have to;

Pay the Skilled Worker Visa Fees myself
Pay NHS Surcharge myself
Pay for flight
Pay for my TB tests myself
And even cater for my accomodation on arrival.

The cost runs into millions of naira, which I do not have.

My questions;

1. Does anyone thing the offer is worth it, and should I accept it considering how difficult it is getting NHS offers now?

2. If I decide to go through Health and Care Worker Visa Route, the visa processing fees will be cheaper than Skilled Worker, but is it advisable?

3. Is it advisable to take a loan and invest in the relocation plans, since I have an offer already?

Every suggested will be appreciated.

can I speak with you on the phone if you don't mind? UK doesn't pay for flight or visa. What happens is that when you get a new job you get a relocation allowance between £4000 to £6000. They also pay you salary for the 3 months they pay you normal salary while you are in a an accomodation they paid for you to stay in for three months to do OSCE. They pay for your OSCE exams. Nigerians actually lie to you when they say NHS paid for their visa and flight. It is the relocation allowance that is given to you when you get there, that Nigerians think it's for flight. No no no. Even if you are inside UK or in America, you are still entitled to relocation allowance if the job advert states so.
First, look for the original job advert. Relocation allowance is likely to be stated there since it is NHS. You only get it when you arrive there, not before. The money is between £4000 to £6000 most times. That should be enough to settle any money you borrow. Your family members have to support you now by borrowing to contribute, you are sure going to be able to pay back in time. Anybody who doesn't support you now should not expect support from you.

FoodRe: Selling Gari In 1944 Was Illegal In Nigeria by Ruke1989: 5:47pm On Nov 19, 2023
fuckJones:
You Drink Garri And Use It For Food Purposes But Did You Know In 1944, Selling Garri Was illegal In Nigeria?

The British colonial Government made it illegal for anyone to sell Garri privately, Garri became "Government treasure”
This actually happened during the era of the second World War. As we know the British were suffering at he hand of Germans and they were desperate to win the War, they needed money and resources so they pulled as many as they could get from their colonies, including Nigeria.
They built harbours, roads, Airfields, hospitals, anything to make their exploitation easier. Thousand of Nigerian Men were recruited into the Army to fight in the second World. Even at that, they still needed more, They imposed some monetary policies and they rationed food so they could have enough to export for their wars. The government was in charge of food distribution and people would have to queue for days to buy Garri.
They wanted to tax market women. Then we had Alimotu Pelewura, a Nigerian woman led a protest to curb this action. British Government were like "British women pay tax, why should Nigerian women be any different" and Pelewura replied " All of Nigeria's wealth was being taken to Britain hence the British women could pay tax because they were Rich". She organized the market and told them to boycott sales of Garri to the Govt. This made the Govt and the security agents "declared war"

The Government started arresting those who sold Garri privately but NIGERIANS are very resourceful so the Fa-ya-wo got involved (Fa-ya-wo is what the Yorubas call Smugglers). The Fa-ya-wo would crawl on their bellys(hence their name) to steal Garri from government stores
And sell in private. Garri had it own black market. 😳
The govt found it very hard to solve this problem, they tried to bribe Halimatu Pelewura to come to their side but she didn't sell her conscience.
So when next you see garri, show some respect oo
It's not true. No Yoruba king could ever resist colonization or capturing of yoruba for slavery. How much less an ordinary Yoruba woman. Common Fulani in ilorin self, Yoruba no fit resist. So let's not even talk about white people. Don't let your ego lead you into writing fairy tales

Though beating the woman regularly is strange but you are a woman and just gave us a woman view. If what you said came from a man, I will see it as truth. But women are not known to be very objective because of emotion. The woman can be good. You people should ensure she has a job and can fend for herself and the children before leaving that marriage because that kind of man will not care for the children after divorce

In the event that she remarries she should be financially strong to take care of those children alone. Another man will not do for them what their own biological father refused to do for them

LegendHero:
Below is a survey done by the European Union (EU) home office and while gathering the Black/African race survey question, Yoruba is being spelled out.

What could be the reason for this? Could it be due to the number of Yorubas in EU countries or Yoruba people are so famous to act as the anchor for the Black race?

CC: Mynd44
Everything in the bracket is explaining the category of people from Caribbean being referred to. Yoruba slaves are the dominant slave population in the Caribbean. Read it this way:
1) African,
2) blacks,
3) Afro-american or
4) Caribbean blacks (including Yoruba)
The fact that a Yoruba man in the Caribbean is mixed race or light skinned because of inter-racial marriage doesn't make them white. So the emphasis on Yoruba could mean Yoruba Caribbeans are fond of trying to gum body with the white to boost their self esteem. But the whites are stylishly telling them that "we no be mate". Hence, the emphasis on Yoruba pointed out explicitly as black just to put the Yoruba back to where they belong

I know this doesn't please your narrative. Because you intentionally screenshot this because of a mental disorder called superiority complex. And you were expecting me to validate your thought process so your body can release some hormones of excitement

Mostly prostitution in Italy and other parts of Europe. I don’t see Edo among professionals in UK. Most of them are Yoruba.
Yoruba boy, una too get rotten mouth. Always trying to talk down other tribes so as to have an air of superiority. Una get mental problem called superiority complex. The Edo people of the past risked their life out of poverty to go through Italy route. But those poorer generation have established themselves over several decades and moved other family members there who didn't have to suffer like the first set suffered. Many Edo people today are in US, UK, France, Germany and they are doing better financially than the yorubas abroad hence the statistics prove it that they are sending two times higher what the best of yorubas (Oyo) sends home. Respect that achievement rather than maliciously denigrating the more successful Edo people because of envy

The desperation of past generation Edo citizens was caused by bad leaders (federal government) who are mostly from the Fulani & Yoruba extraction. The present moribund condition of the states of Ondo, Ekiti, osun and larger part of oyo is testament of the bad government that I talk about. While edos in the past tries to escape the poverty by fleeing abroad to hustle (prostitution), the yorubas of Ogun, osun etc tried & are still trying to escape same poverty by becoming fraudsters, ritual killers, charm-selling Alfas and 419 pastors. These are all fallouts of bad government. No need trying to feel good. Tinubu (Yoruba) for example became a drug kingpin just to escape poverty that doesn't make him or his tribe better than an igala for example who uses another adaptation/survival technique to escape excruciating poverty

You are the ignorant person here because you don't know shit about the history of Islam which is synonymous with terror, deaths, killing of christians and take over communities belonging to christians, Hindi sirk, etc. Do you propose that fulani Muslims should equally evacuate hausa communities and ilorin town which they siezed through wars and install Fulani as emir over the majority tribes. Muslims must be bombed if they insist on taking back towns they were displaced from because they too siezed many christian and pagan towns and those other religion are not attacking. So they should allow themselves to be displaced without war or return lands back to those they displaced before asking their lands to be returned to them too

SOSinNigeria:
Rubbish. Actions have consequences. You voted for a condemned criminal because of tribalism. After seeing the damage you caused, you're here shamelessly talking garbage?

Spit!
There were some that voted on the basis of hate for igbos, not necessarily because they liked tinubu. That hate is not their fault, it's politically sponsored hate messages from APC that caused it. However, only yorubas who were limited in knowledge were misled. The very knowledgeable ones fired against the APC . I know several

There were some yorubas that abstained from voting because they were not convinced about the obi frenzy- having just recovered from another pro-buhari media frenzy inwhich they were misled.

There were equally yorubas that campaigned and voted for obi or Atiku based on their knowledge of party and individual history

The main issue which is not talked about is the delegate system - it needs reforms. The election is already spoilt by party delegates who choose the worst possible candidates to represent each party at the ballot. This leaves voters confused. Being that the parties present the worst possible candidates to represent them, you don't expect the worst of each party to do issue based campaign. They are the worst for a reason. They have no good track, believe in thuggery and bribes and are not interested in due process. They come to thief.

Rather than having illiterates as party delegates, we need a reform that sets a high educational qualifications as minimum entry for party delegates. Apart from education, proven background check and people who have track of community service and integrity. They also must present guarantors who can attest to their integrity so that they and the guarantors can be arrested on account of bribe taking to vote flagbearer. If the parties give us their best through the delegate votes, the country will still do well if general election is rigged
PoliticsRe: Why Are Yorubas (okun) Not Allowed To Rule In Kogi State? by Ruke1989: 6:47pm On Nov 15, 2023
SOSinNigeria:
Something funny is happening in Kogi state. This state has three major ethnic groups i.e. Ebiras, Igalas and Okuns (Yorubas). But sadly, since the creation of the state, only the Igalas and Ebiras have been ruling back to back. No Okun/Yoruba has ever ruled Kogi state since its creation.

In Delta State, there are three major ethnic groups i.e. Urhobos, Anioma/Igbos and Itshekiri. All of them have ruled accordingly. In Rivers State, both the Igboid upland areas and the Ijoid riverine areas have ruled.

So, why is Kogi state different? Even Dino Melaye, an Okun man who contested under PDP was disgraced. A major opposition party like PDP performed so woefully that ordinary SDP candidate almost won against APC.

SDP candidate was Igala.
APC candidate was Ebira.
PDP candidate was Okun/Yoruba.

Yet the contest was between SDP Igala and APC Ebira. Why are the Okuns maltreated in Kogi state?
it's democracy. Tribes with Higher population win the election hook or crook ie deploying tribalism. Just thesame way Yoruba and fulanis rule Nigeria and oppress the minorities, that's how yorubas are to be oppressed in Nigeria if they are in the minority in any setup. If you want Yoruba to rule kogi, fight for the minorities in the NC/SS to rule Nigeria first. I mean fight for a new Nigeria where tribalism is not what gives people access to political power, contracts and jobs but capacity and track. Nigeria sits on a faulty foundation that needs general constitutional reformation . Igbos and yorubas tribal wars on nairaland is not about good governance but about which tribe can produce president so as to hijack all job, contracts and appointment to their tribe to the total neglect of minorities. We have a long way to go in building a just society with equal opportunities for all

The south south is the only people that are not tribalistic in Nigeria. Thats why, up till now, yorubas have emerged VCs, CMDs, rectors, provost, GMD in federal government agencies in the south south without the local monarchs fighting or taking any fight to Abuja. In the case of yorubas and igbos, they have never allowed an urhobo, ijaw, itsekiri, efik, ibikio, ikwere or ogoni to emerge head of any federal government agencies in their zones since 1960. You can verify. Yorubas and igbos need to do alot of work to become less tribalistic themselves than accusing any other tribe of tribalism. Other tribes in kogi actually learnt tribalism from igbos and yorubas

Thank you. This is good to know
The north America had slaves mostly from eastern Nigeria. Predominantly igbo tribe. TD Jakes from USA - His DNA was traced to igbo tribe of the eastern Nigeria. And to be candid, that photo of your great grandpa bear some facial features that look similar to igbo tribes. However, only a DNA can fully confirm

The south America had slaves mostly from west Africa.. predominantly Yoruba tribe. That's why Brazil has Yoruba speaking communities

Given that there has been intermarriages with other blacks likely from other countries too. But definitely, west Africa is the origin from where most North America blacks emanate.

The people of north Africa & across the Sahara were sent to Saudi Arabia as slaves and to the Muslim othoman empire long before European slave trade started. Unfortunately, those people were merciless, castrated and killed most of the slaves.
Nairaland GeneralRe: Deleted by Ruke1989: 8:20am On Nov 15, 2023
Most black Americans natives are of west African descent. Benin, Sierra Leone were the final exit ports from where many Nigerian slaves left west Africa shores.
Intermarriages would have changed a lot of things. But originally, there are just a few bodily features differentiating east and west Africans.

PoliticsRe: Farooq Kperogi: There Is No US Study Saying Igbos Are Smartest Tribe In Nigeria by Ruke1989: 12:20am On Nov 15, 2023
The only thing I get from this article is that yorubas have low IQ. According to kperogi, American born blacks which is slave descendants generally recorded lower IQ than whites but blacks from Caribbean and Africa came into America and even beat those whites IQ.
Ask yourself, who are the native American blacks? They are descendants of slaves. Who were the slaves sent to America? Yorubas. Yoruba slaves worked in south and north America plantain farms. Calabar slaves were sent to Caribbean.
Note: the article didn't say south America blacks have higher IQ, it only mentioned some Caribbean blacks and African blacks. Those native American blacks with poor IQ are children of Yoruba slaves. Now I can understand why Nigeria is backward with Yoruba and Fulani ruling the country. The people with worst IQ should never be allowed to govern

PoliticsRe: This Guy Post Is Generating Comments On X (twitter) by Ruke1989:

I always laugh at folks trying to end tribalism or hiding under the usual “Politician are dividing us” jargons to blame Nigeria issue on politicians.

All tribes are tribalistic. Both minority and majority, but the problem is that those that are somehow independent of another tend to be bold in showing their own tribalism.

Those that are dependent are always scared of showing their tribalism which explained why some tribe will say they are less tribalistic and some are more tribalistic. There is nothing called less or more tribalistic, you can either be tribalistic or not.

If we divide Nigeria today into major tribes and let’s say we have 10 countries for example. People within those tribe will then fragment themselves into clans and the struggle of clannish continue. Check state governorship election, it’s always a game of clans within a tribe.

You can only have peace if you divide Nigeria totally by clans. Then at that stage, you’re looking at 5k individual states.

However, dividing Nigeria into major zones with tribal realignment to their zone will help a bit. At least we will have the clan problem which will be at a lesser impact compared to tribe issue.
tribalism is an igbo, Yoruba and hausa thing. Yoruba and igbo comes first in tribalism. Don't try to generalise it. Those small tribes are not dependent on igbo or Yoruba. Rather it is the majority tribes that depends on oil money and food produced by minorities in the south south and north central for survival. It is the majority that is leeching on the minority tribes
More so, there is no state in south east, south west or north that Haas ever allowed an ijaw, urhobo, Ibibio, Benin, eket, calabar etc to emerge a VC, CMD or head of a federal govt establishment there in the last 40 years. But I can tell you several yorubas and igbos that have been head of NNPC, Universities, hospitals, govt agencies here in the south south for the last 40 years and still currently. That we are tolerant doesn't mean we are ignorant of the stupid behavior of the average Yoruba or igbo man. The Yoruba and igbo are the two tribes that hate each other most in Nigeria because they have thesame intolerance, tribalism and dominance. The fact that you are allowed to head a company in the south south then you go to Yoruba land to employ all the staff for the following year. It's only in south south that happens in Nigeria. It is for this kind of behavior, the yorubas hate igbos, and igbos hate Yoruba too for thesame behavior. Yorubas fought igbos last election because they are afraid if Gbadebo becomes Lagos governor, his igbo wife will bring igbos to pick up contracts & appointments meant for Yoruba. I hope this helps you understand why igbo and Yoruba hate other is that each try to outsmarted the local community by bringing their tribe only to get the available jobs, contracts, appointment when you allow them. Both tribe think they are smart or overwise. The South South is aware of all these. That's why in the event of a breakup, we do not support joining oduduwa or Biafra - both share thesame evil genes of displacing the local people by bringing their tribesmen and denying indigenes of the host community jobs once allowed. And because it is what they do, they never allow other tribes to rise to management level in their own land - so that they won't have to employ even one person from another tribe. This strategy is what Igbos and yorubas used to hijack the oil industry from the south southern people who were originally the first set of employees

Don't try to make yourself feel good by bringing the south south or minorities to the debased level of the Yoruba, igbo or Fulani that destroyed Nigeria. Igbo feels they are wise, yorubas feel they are wise. Both set suffer from low self esteem and come here to do nonsense bragging as if those who don't talk don't see

The strike will hurt tinubu and the political class because they will have to double their efforts in borrowing to meet up so as not to provoke the electorate if they are not able to pay salary. Tinubu will have lesser free money to use for briibing judges, renovating his house or changing cars. As for those companies they were already losing money since tinubu dollar policy. It was only tinubu that gained through the dollar policy because he had 1.9 trillion naira to share in one month instead of the former 700 billion naira. That was because the new naira rate was used to convert Nigeria earnings. Though you are defending him only because he is from your tribe, but he is under pressure as long as NNPC is on strike

They are trying to avoid some billings ni oo. Definitely he will be ur sibilings second father which literally means his responsibility has increased stylishly though for man that’s responsible niyen if not e no go look their side . I got married to a first born myself , I’m the last born of my family so I take them like the junior brother and sisters I never had so it’s easier for me that way since I have the mentality I now have junior ones .Even though thier mom or dad never like them asking me for anything. Like d mum Dey always call me if I send dem money self that why am I disturbing myself. Once they see your sibilings like his ( one big family ) being a first born won’t chase dem alway. Most girls too don’t like getting married to a first born man cos they feel so much responsibilities on him. Na stupidity shaa to me cos being a first born , while in school I never ask any of my sisters husband 100naira reacharge card sef even though black man go drink garri tire that year 😂😂😂😂. Contentment ni koko shaa cos we ain’t brought up that way.
You only gave gifts. The issues being avoided is not giving of gift. But situation where you have to be fully responsible for paying university school fees for like three or four younger siblings of your wife, sending them monthly upkeep and be fully responsible for their feeding until they finish university. That happens in some instance, not because your wife is from a poor home but because the parents are unsupportive or outrightly lazy to work. Those kind of parents would demand money from you through your wife and openly express their anger if you give less than their expectations. When those siblings of your our wife wants to marry, bulk of the funding will come from you. Your wife will nag and won't give you peace until you empty your savings and borrow just to please her and her family.

I had a neighbor that was in this exact situation I am describing. The wife was a firstborn. For the first 10 years now that he and the wife (a nurse) has worked, they are unable to buy a car, build house or even save up to N700,000 in total from what he told me. They will always withdraw to please the wife nagging over her siblings or mother's demand. That's when I understood how wicked, manipulative and selfish many Nigerian women really are

Leadership skills you say, he'd need that too when building his own home.. so what's the difference??
The problem is that most Nigerian ladies have an entitlement mentality. If they are working, they will rather spend their money on their siblings and parents leaving the man to pay all the family bills alone. At the end, the man's family is uncared for because the wife is extremely selfish and only thinks herself and her siblings are the only ones to benefit from her salary while she feels entitled to the man's salary. If the lady is not working, it gets worse because she expects her husband to fund her parents and siblings lifestyle as well as take care of his own marrital home.

The situation is very worse when the lady is the first daughter because she tries to play mother to her siblings by channeling all her husband's resources to them. Her mum will keep blackmailing her husband until she kills her husband with responsibility of another man. In 90% of cases, no amount of explanation, the wife would never understood because they are not equipped to work and plan for their own life. They depend on men and hope to find another man that can shoulder the bills if her husband fails. That's the peril of marrying a selfish Nigerian woman.

Such women fail to realize their husbands have just a few active years to work, build houses or business, give their own kids the best of the best. They rather make their husbands invest in another family, other people who they stand to gain nothing from. It is a shameful and profitless investment to be busy training your wife's sisters, brothers and parents. What did such parents do with their youthful life?

I had a colleague who ensured he married a lastborn as wife to eliminate chances of meeting a selfish, uncorporative woman who would punish him with her father's responsibility. Men are getting wiser these days.

If someone else did it , so it should continue and be the reference right ?

FYI GEJ rejected the Yatch idea back then even at a time the county wasn't going through such tough times like we are currently .

We need to elevate our thinking beyond using past errors to justify present ones ...until we do that , we will continue to feed the vicious cycle of bad leadership

Pls ignore that guy, he is an ethnic jingoist. He has no real sense of reasoning
