This has been answered many times, in the last few pages too. If you are getting a gift from say, a parent, just before you submit, you can include documentation to back that up. A gift deed, letter, bank statement showing transfer etc. The money does not have to stay 6 months in your account.

However, your Bank reference letter should still cover the IRCC requirements. You may have to include your statements covering the six months before you apply.

I'd advise you to spend some more time reading through the thread.
You can increase your points by getting another qualification or taking another language test -- CIMA, BCS, PGD, MSC, MBA, TEF etc.

Also, you can get your wife's qualification assessed. She can also do the IELTS test.

One needs at least a year's work experience for this process. Note this and prepare if your wife is to be the primary applicant

Please get your RSEA to claim experience point. You can still lodge EOI but if you intend to claim experience points, get that assessed by EA.

Not when third party evidence can't be provided eh. If EA don't accept bank statements, and one has no payslips or pension contributions or tax certificates to cover significant periods of work then why bother?

That's because state nomination gives you 5 points for nominating you, and that's the state you will land and stay for 2yrs if offered the visa 190.

You can claim same 10 points if your partner occupation is on the same list and is assessed with competent English. But if no assessment but your partner possesses competent English alone, you can claim 5 points for that.

So, it is still the same 10 points as single individuals.

I was asking about the discrepancy in points for 189 and 190 for single individuals based on what you wrote. You mentioned a possible increase in points to 75 points with 190 and 70 points with 189 in your previous statement.

It still depends on your marital status, age and English scores . Are you married? If your partner occupation is on the same list, she can assess her occupation and claim partner points.

With 75 points, it will only be a matter of the long wait of 7 to 8 months to get ITA. It might even come quicker than you expect. Get things done and join the queue and waiit patiently.

Why the difference in points for being unmarried under 189 and 190? Isn't it the same 10 points added to both?

I don't think Mechanical Engineering occupation is that competitive. Check if you are eligible for 190. Secure your superior English scores. Apply and remain patient for your ITA. You will surely get ITA. But it may take up to 7 to 8 months, depending on the number of applicants that are applying for that occupation.

There are options with 190 for Mechanical Engineers and Biomedical Engineers indeed. I did check. No such opening for 489 though (Mech Eng). Even though 489 will be replaced by 491, I suspect the same thing/similar thing when launched.
I do wonder how competitive these occupation groups are under 189 (because of your statement).
Anyhow, ...long way to go, one step at a time.

With the present situation, for you to come any close to 189 ITA in Engineering related occupation you will need nothing less than 80/85points.

I suppose in this situation, one may try 190, though I suspect the same competitive issue would arise.

English. 20 points

Totalling 65 pts

What do you think one's ITA chances are with 189 if nominated occupation is Mechanical Engineer or Biomedical Engineer.

I wonder if the points total is competitive enough.

I applied to for a position at BAT and have taken the culture questionnaire thingy.

Many websites provide info on music tutors. You have to type what you want into a search engine and you'll find many websites, You also need to indicate what area you are situated and those closer to you will be suggested. You can check musiclessons.com.ng, olx etc. Also, it may be good to ask the local musicians at your place of worship. You can also learn from books and videos though I suspect you want a face to face thingy for now as a beginner.

Also, I wonder what guitar style you have in mind. The style you want may not be the area of expertise of the tutor you get but most of them will be proficient at basic pop guitar.

Nigeria and Athletics = a painful story with athletes complaining with grace.

Ojowanle: Blessing Okagbare has won the bronze medal in the 14th IAAF Athletic Championship taking place in Moscow with a time of 22.32s, the same time with the silver medallist, Murielle Ahoure of Cote D’Ivore.

Shelly Ann Fraser-Pryce of Jamaica won the Gold with an impressive time of 22.17s.

America’s hope in the 200m event, Allyson Felix, couldn’t complete the event unfortunately, as she succumbed to an undisclosed injury that made her limp off the track even before the 100m bend. Commentators believe it was her hamstring.

Shelly Ann Fraser-Pryce led the pack right from the onset leaving Ahoure and Okagbare to battle for the silver medal. Blessing caught up with Ahoure, overtook her just slightly with only about 40m left but the Ivorien athlete who already had the silver medal in her sight doubled up her speed, which led to a photo-finish with Okagbare.

There is little doubt left that the 200m event is Blessing Okagabre’s forte. If the race had been a 210m event there was no doubt that she would have clinched the silver from Ahoure because she seemed to be able to go on even after the race while the other athletes were already looking spent.

We say a big congratulations to Nigeria’s golden girl even if the gold medal still appears elusive for now.

Ahoure has run more 200m races than Blessing has so I don't agree that Blessing had better endurance (especially after her busy schedule). Without the Long Jump and 100m, it would have been a different story. I'm impressed she's still healthy after all she's done.
We shouldn't take anything away from Murielle Ahoure, that was a gutsy performance as well.

me_for_you: She's competing in trithlon or so. 3 games - long jump, 100M and 200M.that girl's height and built is a turn-on, anytime, anyday.

Wrong! The Long Jump is/has always been her favourite.

How would she do that when she has 3 days straight of competing? She gave her all in the long jump. She may not have won a medal in the 100m but 11.04 secs into a headwind is no easy feat (especially after 2 days of serious competing). That signifies that she is in good shape.

It's fair to say that Blessing is now the undisputed African 100m Record Holder - bring on the world!

Basically, Blessing can get 3 GOLDs (100m, 200m, and Long Jump) and a Bronze (in 4x100m)- that's why my heart wants for her and Nigeria, but Shelly-Ann Fraser, Allyson Felix and Brittany Reese will be the 3 girls the world will be tipping to win her events, so Blessing should at least get Silver in each on current form! I'll tip her to upset Alyson Felix in the 200m at the World Champs. One thing's for certain - she'll get Mary Onyali's African Record of 22.07 in 2 week's time for some colour of medal. She may also get Chioma Ajunwa's Long Jump African Record of 7.12m. You heard it here first!

I'd be hugely surprised if she did all of these events. I mean she's human(okay, superhuman to a degree ). I know Allyson Felix's feat at the olympic games last year is similar, but...
100m and Long Jump, likely, 200m as well, unlikely, though she has been picked for all three by the AFN.

Nonetheless, we'll see in a few weeks, makes it all exciting

You come across as someone who only knows about the olympics and not someone who follows athletics as an atheltic fan(correct me if I'm wrong). I can assure you that even other competitors and other nations(journalists/athletes) will take notice of her performance. It is an African Record for crying out loud and there are not many 10.7 female runners so her accomplishment while not being an olympic medal(which she already has) is worth taking note of.
With the world championships two weeks away, it's even more exciting. Also, the diamond league events are major, money generating and a chance to race your fellow competitors. Would you prefer she did nothing and turned up at the "Olympics" expecting to win a medal without doing the work needed before?
