tojumi18: This has been answered many times, in the last few pages too. If you are getting a gift from say, a parent, just before you submit, you can include documentation to back that up. A gift deed, letter, bank statement showing transfer etc. The money does not have to stay 6 months in your account. However, your Bank reference letter should still cover the IRCC requirements. You may have to include your statements covering the six months before you apply. 3 Likes |

pwwears: I'd advise you to spend some more time reading through the thread. You can increase your points by getting another qualification or taking another language test -- CIMA, BCS, PGD, MSC, MBA, TEF etc. Also, you can get your wife's qualification assessed. She can also do the IELTS test. One needs at least a year's work experience for this process. Note this and prepare if your wife is to be the primary applicant 1 Like 1 Share |

tunlex01: Not when third party evidence can't be provided eh. If EA don't accept bank statements, and one has no payslips or pension contributions or tax certificates to cover significant periods of work then why bother? |

tunlex01: If one already has a qualification assessment from EA without experience as professional engineer, can one still claim work experience points when submitting an EOI later? |

Mcslize: I was asking about the discrepancy in points for 189 and 190 for single individuals based on what you wrote. You mentioned a possible increase in points to 75 points with 190 and 70 points with 189 in your previous statement. You wrote: However, if you are single, then that's a huge plus too as you will get 70 points for 189 and 75 for 190 but with the help of superior English scores. |

Mcslize: Why the difference in points for being unmarried under 189 and 190? Isn't it the same 10 points added to both? |
Travel / Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by rume(m): 11:11pm On Oct 18, 2019 |
Mcslize: There are options with 190 for Mechanical Engineers and Biomedical Engineers indeed. I did check. No such opening for 489 though (Mech Eng). Even though 489 will be replaced by 491, I suspect the same thing/similar thing when launched. I do wonder how competitive these occupation groups are under 189 (because of your statement). Anyhow, ...long way to go, one step at a time. |
Travel / Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by rume(m): 10:10am On Oct 18, 2019 |
bligs: Haha, no chance then. I suppose in this situation, one may try 190, though I suspect the same competitive issue would arise. |

Assuming the following points were in the bag: Age. 30 points Education. 15 points English. 20 points Totalling 65 pts What do you think one's ITA chances are with 189 if nominated occupation is Mechanical Engineer or Biomedical Engineer. I wonder if the points total is competitive enough. |

Music/Radio / Re: Can You Teach How To Play GUITAR by rume(m): 8:18pm On Jan 28, 2018 |
Many websites provide info on music tutors. You have to type what you want into a search engine and you'll find many websites, You also need to indicate what area you are situated and those closer to you will be suggested. You can check musiclessons.com.ng, olx etc. Also, it may be good to ask the local musicians at your place of worship. You can also learn from books and videos though I suspect you want a face to face thingy for now as a beginner. Also, I wonder what guitar style you have in mind. The style you want may not be the area of expertise of the tutor you get but most of them will be proficient at basic pop guitar. |
NYSC / Re: NYSC Bars Posting Engineers To Teach In Secondary Schools 0 by rume(m): 3:13am On Jan 16, 2016 |
Random simple thoughts Send graduates of Engineering to engineering companies Send graduates of Chemistry to Chemist shops Send graduates of Agriculture to farms and gardens Send graduates of English to England Send graduates of Political Science to Aso Rock[the actual physical rock] Send graduates of Computer Science to Computer Village Seriously... This can help give more respect to the engineering profession. I am interested in how this turns out considering the state of the engineering industry in Nigeria. ... That said, some engineers are very good at imparting knowledge. Teaching is a useful thing. |
Sports / Re: Where Does Blessing Okagbare Go From Here? by rume(m): 6:37pm On Aug 19, 2013 |
She hopes to finish the season with no injuries. She's done enough this year, hasn't she? She may appear on some more diamond league meetings this year. Glasgow 2014 - not so far now. Beijing 2015 Rio 2016 I hope she stays healthy ...and same for the other athletes as well. |

nedufantasy: Whether poor race or paw paw raze!BIKO NNE try and win something for us in the 4*100 metres I'd be impressed if they even make the final. I don't think Gloria Asumnu will be running. ...Blessing's legs must be tired though. Nigeria and Athletics = a painful story with athletes complaining with grace. |
Sports / Re: 200m: Bronze For Okagbare....should Have Been Silver by rume(m): 2:05am On Aug 17, 2013 |
Ojowanle: Blessing Okagbare has won the bronze medal in the 14th IAAF Athletic Championship taking place in Moscow with a time of 22.32s, the same time with the silver medallist, Murielle Ahoure of Cote D’Ivore. Ahoure has run more 200m races than Blessing has so I don't agree that Blessing had better endurance (especially after her busy schedule). Without the Long Jump and 100m, it would have been a different story. I'm impressed she's still healthy after all she's done. We shouldn't take anything away from Murielle Ahoure, that was a gutsy performance as well. |

As usual, some of these comments drive me mad. I'll just calm down and ignore the "second place comment". nedostic: Okagbare just dissapointed in her favorite-100m! Wrong! The Long Jump is/has always been her favourite. Rastamann:How would she do that when she has 3 days straight of competing? She gave her all in the long jump. She may not have won a medal in the 100m but 11.04 secs into a headwind is no easy feat (especially after 2 days of serious competing). That signifies that she is in good shape. |

bambostic: Team Nigeria! I'd be hugely surprised if she did all of these events. I mean she's human(okay, superhuman to a degree ). I know Allyson Felix's feat at the olympic games last year is similar, but... 100m and Long Jump, likely, 200m as well, unlikely, though she has been picked for all three by the AFN. Nonetheless, we'll see in a few weeks, makes it all exciting |

olajide_07: You come across as someone who only knows about the olympics and not someone who follows athletics as an atheltic fan(correct me if I'm wrong). I can assure you that even other competitors and other nations(journalists/athletes) will take notice of her performance. It is an African Record for crying out loud and there are not many 10.7 female runners so her accomplishment while not being an olympic medal(which she already has) is worth taking note of. With the world championships two weeks away, it's even more exciting. Also, the diamond league events are major, money generating and a chance to race your fellow competitors. Would you prefer she did nothing and turned up at the "Olympics" expecting to win a medal without doing the work needed before? |

Flowers2127: Amaka lie ur own make i lie my own finish. Amaka good thing you do not blog again. Stop stealing people's recipe. Why hasn't the admin put you in your place. Tomatoes in urhobo Oghwo soup. Since when? Stop stealing o stop taking recipe from people's blog. Tomatoes are regularly used in Benin! ...not starch. She also indicated that she got it from a friend, so what's the deal with "stealing"? Please... Yes, the combination of starch, garri and potash is errm, interesting but unnecessary. |
